I'm not (yet) into the plugin you use, is there a way that you could edit the script so that it will show the weather in the home screen nice and sleek :D so that it will fit's into your skin ?

And the alarm on /off can it co-operate with pocketalarm ?

I don't use pocketalarm so I wouldn't know. If Pocketalarm has a setting somewhere in the register, Mortscript could read the register key and know if it's set or not... so then it would be possible to make that co-operate somehow.

hey focal i took out the strings for the tasks and appointments because i never use them... but ii have my time right in military time but i want it in standard is there anyway to take it out of military? ill submit my revised one later after we fix the time and im working on a new cube for this theme ...oh and i made the length of the skin longer also so it will reach the bottom it was 299 but i extended it to 302 and it fits right to the bottom :)~ hope you dont mind the revisions lol but please help me out with the time change... thanks

well for an update i have converted the original over to wwe.

i have made a version with a larger clock and the blue gradiant in the background has been extended to fit also i have removed the date and AM,PM and centered the clock in the gradiant.

i have made an original with no appointments and no tasks

and i have made one with a larger clock and extended gradiant, with appointments and task, in wwe and its also avaliable in danish...

alot of work for one night i will post a picture of the large clock minus the appointment and tasks tonight...

You can download the pic and resize it. It's bigger then the ppc 320x240, no? So it should be easy to resize or crop it?

Just a little issue with the skin:
The cab to shrink the tray in the bottom doesn't work for my WM6.
I still got it so I have to scroll.

Only thing you can do to prevent scrolling, is editing the skin.xml file and setting height a bit lower and changing some y="..." attributes to get everything up a bit so it fits in a smaller size?

it works on any thing running wm5 and over i custom made it to also work without getting rid of the bottom bar so if someone wants one tell pm me im working on alot of different versions.... including a white one....

Another suggestion, a bit nicer icon for calendar and task for the middle part, although not simple because they have to remain very small.

Hi all, I'd like to share my customization of WM6 running in my Touch.

I do it here, because it's based on Focaldesign's (http://www.focaldesign.be/) skin. Credits for the design idea go to him, as do credits for some of the icon's used.

This customization is meant to meet my needs for a win mobile phone. I do not use many of the possibilities such a device has to offer, but I want it to look the way I want and I want it to make these things easy:

- Use of the calendar app, mainly viewing the upcoming appointments.
- Use all phone applications comfortably with the thumb, including sms and contacts browsing.
- Use the occasional tool. Guitar tuner and metronome, a timer, mp3 alarm clock, all with the thumb.

Everything else is not part of my daily routine with the device so I customized it to have those things available "in the back".

This is what the Result looks like:

This is the todayscreen. Two plugins are always visible:
Top: UltimateLaunch 1.2 (http://www.ultimatelaunch.de/)
This highly customizable launcher app has a touchflo like feature. It lets you swap it's panel with a flick. The swap is animated. cube, slide and many other animations. Each screen can contain on or more today plugins, icons, text labels, separators. etc. I chose four screens:

1. Today agenda (http://www.tiews.info/?show=software/todayagenda)
2. Bottom: rlToday (http://rotlaus-software.de/forum/) Again a highly customizable plugin that uses a xml file for configuration. Very easy and flexible. This plugin is fixed, the icons should be self-explanatory. Linked apps are the built in dialer, PocketCM and SpbTime.

Several system colors have been modified through the registry. is some information on which values to modify.
In order to make the top and softkey bar to disappear I coloured them all black and in addition used vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe. This is something I had to undo and redo a lot, because I needed one of the bars occasionally.

I'll attach the tsk and a blank button. The big buttons are in focaldesign's skin. The small button is a .xcf file I made in open source gimp. Just put anything you want on a button into a new layer, merge the layers and save the file as an .ico. UltimateLauncher only reads .ico.

UltimateLauncher does that for you. I have opted to let the icons "grey out" when I push them, although there is an option to make them get bigger when you push them. Apparently .ico files can have several instances of themselves within the file, all of different sizes. Mine don't have that, I'd have to look up more info on the filetype.

It took me all night long to get the hang of it, but I have finally made my own icon packs with your help! My interface looks so good now... and no need for HTC cube either... very happy!

btw how did you hide your top bar?

I tried UltimateLauncher once too, but changed back to my skin because the trialversion shows 'not activated' very fast all over the plugin. Occassionaly yes, but this happens very fast, also I don't know why but it never showed my ico files...

If I could find a way to remove this f**** Intellisync icon in the tray, I would use you skin which is beautiful. Tried differents softs which are supposed to get rid of the tray, but none succeeded to remove the tray. And because of it, I still got the today bottom bar to :mad:

Your skin is really beautiful and I tried UltimateLauch because I think that the only little lack of your skin is that we do not have appz quick lauchers, and UltimateLaunch was great for that ;)

It could be because of your icons' size?! There are settings for iconsize in Ultimatelauncher and they default to 32 px when not pushed. Set those to your icons' size and they should show up.

Thx, but that doens't fix the 'not activated' message that pops up way too fast :) Don't mind if it pops up because it's the non-paid version, but it comes too fast for me, so don't use it.

sorry for the long pause in production my comp died!!!! i blew it up it litteraly got so slow because i seased my hard drive up and i got frustrated and paked it full of quarter sticks and pushed the button >:)
but i backed up my files and now im on my new toy a mac book pro so production will continue!!! and nice design Netzcoyote!! i like it the new design i have is similar but now the bottom where the missed cals and sms and email are slides which is like touch flow to show other items like internet explorer and gps and my reg editor thats if you slide right if you slide left you get microsoft word, tcpmp, and htc album then up top below the clock i put in a sliding program to make the weather app, music player, and my instant messenger :) plus i made a skin for the cube to final design will be up soon oh and i also made one for the comm maneger and the action screen next im making a bar to get rid of the start bar and change the battery icon and signal strength to look more like the symbian layout which has the battery status on the right and signal on the left corner, and the start menu is being moved to a sliding set similar to the weather program i have set up its... almost done youll like it i promise!!

- It sets the topbar's height to o, so it's literally gone, which does cause some problems.
Mainly it's the missing ok/close button. I have mapped the green hardware key to that function now, and it seems to work for most apps. Some don't want to close, they just get minimized, even though I set the OS to close apps. So pushing the clock, which is always there in my skin, brings up a task manager now, and I use that to close apps occasionally.
In one side of UL, I have a button that starts quickmenu, so that I can access the start menu with out the stat button, but eventually i want to have my buttons set up to control the device without the topbar.
It boils down to finding out what parts of the app you need and how often.

- I had an idea for an app recently that could be matched to a button: It should just be a comman line app that takes one or more application paths as arguments, and on execution shows a popup for , say, 3 seconds with buttons to push in order to launch either app. If you push either one, it launches that app and closes that app, if you chose neither, it just closes itself.
Then I could set up links to launch that app with arguments to logically grouped apps and set some UL buttons to that app.

Say have a button that launches a Taskmanager and a CloseAll application, or one that launches guitar tuner and metronome.
That would save some serious "real estate" and be easily customizable.

I looked into WM6 programming, but it's quite a hassle. In order to do such a popup app, you probably have to write native code, but I only have experience in java. My natural choice was managed code in C#, therefore, but even looking at the class library reference makes you throw up.
Guess I have to look into some c++ or c.

- I think you messed up the order of the layers in one of your photodialer buttons, the lady on the top left has a top highlight :)

- Also, your bottom panel is cut off, probably due your showing the topbar, if you set UltimateLauncher to a smaller fixed plugin height, everything should be fine. I'd say it's about 25px to big.

- I' shying away from Wisbar because of size and memory usage, but I may be in the wrong here. I'll check it out.

third shows TaskPlus plugin,
fourth shows most used apps (explorer, Opera, CommManager, Camera, HTC Album, S2US)

Yeah, the red ones are overdue and the darker red ones are very important, so I really need them to stand out...

They are pretty specific, though. I suggest you install the free graphics app gimp, and google for a step by step glass button tutorial. Shouldn't take you longer than 30 minutes to crank out your own buttons.

I got the skin to work just fine. I did made a few changes to my liking. I also downloaded the 6 sided cube from your site and have no luck finding HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/Biotuoch/APLauncher. I do not have Biotouch under HTC. Is there some other software I am missing?

I would really like to give this cube a try.

On line 8 of Appoinment-Home.mscr and line 13 of Appointment-Next.mscr you need to change Offset=-60*60 to Offset=-60*60*6

Nice, Focaldesing, i see you went more greyish... I have to look into the "Alarm aan" part. I'm using Spb Time for alarms though, and they store everything in Hex values. I think there's a Mortskript to convert those easily, though.

Now using Wisbar Advance, which has a surprisingly low memory footprint, to get rid of the topbar and softkey bar. They're both fully there, but blended into the background, and the topbar only shows the network icon (if connected) on the left and the ok/close button on the right. Great program. Solved a lot of problems.

Included is a PocketCM 0.19 theme in the same colours, w´th a twist of lime, err... yellow. It's a modified skin, and all the icon files are smaller than the original ones, and it uses no gradients, etc. Somewhat simplistic, but it makes PocketCM really run.
If anyone has problems with animation speed of PocketCM, it really might be your skin's fault. For starters, get rid of that semi-transparent search index.

Hey thanks, I got the skin up and running. My only problem is the clock is too big and it does not look digital. I am going to try to add your buttons later this evening. No problem. Best is, you forget about the UL config file and configure to your liking yourself. With UL, you can have "multiple today screens". In each side of your Ultimte-Launcher cube, you can combine one or more today plugins, or show icons that link to your applications.
If you want to set it up like I did, you have to set the height of the header (that's where UL's tab icons are) to 0. They are only needed for navigation, and you don't need the tab icons, if you navigate witt the gestures.

Yupp, as a matter of fact, mine is set up to launch PocketCM.

Those large buttons at the bottom are part of a versatile today screen plugin called "rltoday", that lets you configure it's links, even allows command line arguments, PocketCM doesn't parse those, though, afaik.

Go back a few posts, where I posted my windows mobile skin file (.tsk) That should turn your screen into all black. Also, do NOT use a background picture, that will always be displayed somewhat transparent and look milky-white.

As for the icons, here's what I do:
- In any UL-tab, create a new item, and click on "XP-Icon(32 bit)". Do not click "with Text" (unless you want a button with a caption).

- Point the command field to the .exe or .lnk you want that icon to to launch
- Put command line arguments in the Parameter field, if necessary.
- On the "XP-icon" tab, browse to your icon file where it says "XP-Icon(normal). The XP-Icon (pushed) field is not necessary.
- At the bottom of that tab, put a tick mark in "individual iconsize" and enter the size of the icons in pixels. If you have a copy of the icon on your computer, you can find out it's dimensions by rightclicking it.

- If you went for the "with text" option, you have to enter something in the text field.

If you make your own icons, make sure there are no empty layers in it, and save it as a 32 bit ico. I guess they will have to be squares, but I didn't try odd rectangles so far.

Nope, the pic of the HTC is downloaded (can't remember from where anymore...). As an addicted photographer I'm going to make my own pics, but right now I'm still drowning in work so this stuff comes later.
The screenshots are done with PocketSnap (google will find it).

Thanks that .tsk file worked prefectly. I needed help installing focals cube icons not the UL icons. I tried following his directions but the cube icons never change. Probably just a matter of communication, those icons should work.

To clear things up: Are you trying to get those icons to work in UltimateLauncher or in rlToday at the bottom?

If you have a backgroud picture on your today screen, in order to remove it, you go to Start Menu - Settings - Personal - Today and then remove the tick mark where it says "Use this picture as the background"
But maybe I'm missing your point here. Again, maybe a screenshot would help?

Hi all, I'd like to share my customization of WM6 running in my Touch.

I do it here, because it's based on Focaldesign's (http://www.focaldesign.be/) skin. Credits for the design idea go to him, as do credits for some of the icon's used.

This customization is meant to meet my needs for a win mobile phone. I do not use many of the possibilities such a device has to offer, but I want it to look the way I want and I want it to make these things easy:

- Use of the calendar app, mainly viewing the upcoming appointments.
- Use all phone applications comfortably with the thumb, including sms and contacts browsing.
- Use the occasional tool. Guitar tuner and metronome, a timer, mp3 alarm clock, all with the thumb.

Everything else is not part of my daily routine with the device so I customized it to have those things available "in the back".

This is what the Result looks like:

This is the todayscreen. Two plugins are always visible:
Top: UltimateLaunch 1.2 (http://www.ultimatelaunch.de/)
This highly customizable launcher app has a touchflo like feature. It lets you swap it's panel with a flick. The swap is animated. cube, slide and many other animations. Each screen can contain on or more today plugins, icons, text labels, separators. etc. I chose four screens:

2. Bottom: rlToday (http://rotlaus-software.de/forum/) Again a highly customizable plugin that uses a xml file for configuration. Very easy and flexible. This plugin is fixed, the icons should be self-explanatory. Linked apps are the built in dialer, PocketCM and SpbTime.

Several system colors have been modified through the registry. is some information on which values to modify.
In order to make the top and softkey bar to disappear I coloured them all black and in addition used vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe. This is something I had to undo and redo a lot, because I needed one of the bars occasionally.

I am using Focaldersign skin that he post #1. I live in Canada, GMT -8, what is the value that i should change in order to get my appointment time to show up right? Based on what I read, i should change Offset=-60*60 value under appointment-home.mscr? Also, I cannot get my today screen to show appointment-next. It does not show my tomorrow's appointment. Offset is in seconds, so 60 seconds per minute, 60 minutes per hour, makes 60*60*8, plus or minus to get the correct offset. I'm thinking +

Mortscript can only read current and next appointment. So if no appointment happening right now, it only shows the first one coming.
Sure you have activated topbar.msrc? That won't do anything visible when you hit it but it will be running in the background, that file calls the appointment scripts. So you need MortScript installed and topbar activated and the appointment scripts in the same directory.

I used UITweaker for the black menu text, but can't remember which part, sorry...

I saw, I saw. That's only one thing that would be possible, but it's the first thing I'd look into. I suppose TodayAgenda for example is customizable enough, but creating an agenda tab in rlToday with nice background graphics, that would be neat.

Did you install the the cab PMC Shrink Today? That installs VJToggleTodayAlphaII. That little piece of software makes the bottom bar dissapear. Then your problem would be solved I think...

You are correct, the skin is 99.99% finished but I'm dealing with some upcoming deadlines which make it impossible to make a how-to and place evrything online. Most deadlines are gone by medio March so should be ok in the beginning of April.
As a bonus, I will release my skin in English, and not my native language (Dutch) like my first skin...

I do use a lot of additional apps so I don't know if it's possible or allowed. But it would be nice if someone could make a cab out of the whole thing :)
I found a tutorial on how to make cabs, but I use too many apps and stuff to make that cab on my own, not good at that kind of stuff :)

I'm currently trying to make all faces in a black glossy theme because I didn't find any full black glossy cube.

No I'm not going to skni the full cube. As said before I lost my Photoshop file with my buttons and I can't seem to redo the exact same thing... Therefor I made my second skin (wee post 108) and as of now I actually never use the cube anymore...

Yes and no :)

My first skin (Focaldesign-Pi3cH) only shows current and upcoming appointment. So if now is 4pm and you have appointment from for example 3 till 5pm, it will show th current on (because 4pm means the appointment from 3 to 5 is now) and the next one. If no current appointment it will only show the next one coming (so only 1).... this is because Morscript can only read those in the registry.

My new skin (Focaldesign 2) uses Calendar+ plugin and reads from the WM calendar instead of registry, there you can show as much appointments as you want...

I copied the folder "Focaldesign" and the .ini file to the UltimateLaunch folder but it doesn't seem to work.
(Even after a soft-reset/ re-install + soft-reset.)

Never mind; It turned out that with a dutch ROM all the links in UltimateLaunch didn't work correctly (Program Files = Programmabestanden).
I changed the icons seperately and now they work fine! Thanks for the wonderful skin!

The shiny metal icons on the cube are great.

Calendar+ is completely new to me, looks promising, though.

Anyway, great work. You really have designer's blood, which I am lacking completely. :)

I have left the rltoday / UltimateLauncher completely and am now big fan of the new Mobile Shell.
It's not as customizable, but it's incredibly fluent in it's animations.

In know that showing tasks is very important to you, and MobileShell can't do that, bummer :(

How come there's pictures of military aircraft on your phone? Did you make those, or are you a fan? Or in the military, even?

Weather for rlToday skins can be found at the rlToday forum (link is on my webpage).
I don't use pocketalarm so I wouldn't know. If Pocketalarm has a setting somewhere in the register, Mortscript could read the register key and know if it's set or not... so then it would be possible to make that co-operate somehow.

I like the interface and sleek look. But it took me all day and I'm beyond frustrated. If there was a super easy how-to version I'd install it. Maybe the first FocalDesign is easier. Juts the registry key editing is really not my strong suit.

The weather plugin is Weatherpanel, with the PhatPhinger QVGA I theme and PhatPhinger QVGA icons. It is selected as a plugin in UltimateLaunch. I also modified the same weather icons and use them in place of the standard icons in S2U2.

Just set the background of your device to the background you use for rlToday... then it also becomes the background of UL.

I had the same problem on my Touch Cruise. Setting the background did not solve the problem. In order to get the correct background I created a "Today" theme that just contains the FocalDesign background. I've attached the theme.

Hey i am now running the Focaldesign 2 skin on my Dutch (Surface 1.31 ROM) HTC Touch and i have a problem (see the screenshot)

The skin isn't working as planned, the bottom background doesn't show. The top part does, when switching background off nothing shows so the background is processed somehow. What could be the problem????

Another problem i have (no screenshot yet) is that UltimateLaunch after some time gives me "not activated" (only then in German) messages in every corner of the screen? whats up with that ;)??

The rest: GREAT skin :D and very easily customized where needed. I never use tasks so i replaced that part with the BatteryStatus home plugin, worked like a charm :)

But can anybody help me with my two problems?

Of course, in my first skin, just alter the skin.xml. In the second skin, just go into the Ultimate Launch settings and change the plugin there...
