Look like the keyboard skin needs to be build into the ROM for it to work unless you can use memaid to stop its process before overwriting it.

Probably have to put it in my next ROM for you but will look out for a viable solution nevertheless... Cheers

It is suitable for both ELFs and ELFins. Just ignore the "For ELFin Only" in the instructions as I forgot to change it. Cheers.

Performance report on fixed 4mb Pagepool version for Elf

RAM
-memory stable at ~21mb overnight after soft reset
-with messenger, active sync via bluetooth running in background ~14mb
-after usage of programs, memory stabilizes at ~16mb, does not push back to ~21mb

ActiveSync\Internet (Connection Setting: Set as Automatic)
-on USB: Synchronization\Connection to internet are flawless and smooth
-on Bluetooth: Synchronization\Connection to internet are flawless and smooth

Closing programs\Toggling Devices
-programs close when ended. does not run in background (in one of the shipped roms i did experience programs not closing. might be a build issue)
-Bluetooth\Wifi\Phone toggling okay

Minor issues
-after pressing ON\OFF key to switch off light, sometimes there is a delay but can only be said as 1/3 of a second. so requires a second press both with ON and OFF

Battery Performance (using Radio 03.07.90)
-one day passed and its 85% with no major calls. just a few messages and 2-3 calls


**btw for any vista fanatic, and for anyone's info. i m happily using windows vista :D and did this rom update/flashing on it. and by activesync i do mean windows mobile device centre. hehe.

Well, the theme (or combination of plugin so to say), doesn't take up any much RAM, so I don't experience the down side of using this.
the all three take up about 5-6MB

For those who like the WM6.1 but either dont like the threaded sms style or jus want to revert back to the old sms style now and then here is the reg fix

Using RegEdit from Accessories scroll to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s and

1. create the key OEM
2. new DWORD value. Value Name SMSInboxThreadingDisabled and Value as shown below in note


HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\SMSInbo xThreadingDisabled=1

note:
threaded sms style enable = 0
threaded sms style disable = 1
(base is decimal)

No need for soft reset, just create this key and check ur inbox. Also this does not disable sms sent notification or alerts\vibration, which a previous reg fix method caused.

the restore of system files (dll's and exe's) etc are what is causing all those conflicts. never choose to restore SYSTEM files

it is entirely wrong to do as the Sprite Backup has backed up system files from ur previous rom and THIS is what is causing all those conflicts

but if you want to restore things like ur contacts and inbox or documents try choosing to restore those files and document EXCEPT SYSTEM FILES

u shud never run restore of system files on another rom installed!!!!!

Not exactly the same as I have changed the pagepool in the rom. Anyway, ayyu3m's advice is right.. It is risky to restore system files even it is the same rom.. It is a good habit to clean install all your favourite apps from installation cabs that you should have stored in your SD card. At least that's what I do..;) Cheers

What is "Dynamic Pagepool"? Well from what I understand through pure browsing and reading, default dynamic pagepool that is set for a device by the OEM don't really limit the maximum RAM used for loading coded pages and can be exceeded in times of need, e.g. an Elf which has an 8MB default dynamic pagepool.. and when the demand by the loaded coded pages exceed 8MB, it may allowed it to use the RAM space outside it which resulted in the frequent "low memory" situations faced by users.True pagepool however limits the amount of RAM used for loading coded pages.

I wish to repeat that this is my understanding of dynamic pagepool and I might be wrong... Someone who has a better understanding of pagepool may correct me... :D Cheers.

If you are using the normal ELF (P3450) the 4mb PagePool version is not workin the way it shud. Swiftblade is gonna fix this problem soon.

Now to describe what pagepool is abt. Think of it as RAM vs PERFORMANCE in a pc/laptop

the more ram u have, the more processes it can complete. But increasing the number of programs that use the resources (RAM) can slow down the performance of the other program in need of RAM.

thus, in our ppc, 8mb pagepool is the default level set in any shipped ROM (mostly). this maintains a balance between ram and the number of programs that can be used simultaneously. but unfortunately this is not the case. the ram in the normal elf is very low. thus to increase the ram, the pagepool is set to 4. which means ram increases, but u can use only a lesser number of programs at a given time. sometimes one program may itself use up all the available ram. there is no set number actually. but u can feel when ur elf is all slow and sluggish.

(pls correct me if i m wrong) :D

so when its 4mb pagepool, ur RAM is a little more. but with 8mb pagepool, the RAM is in its normal level (mostly lower cos of minor memory leaks)

and these leaks are tweaked and fixed, which is why we say stable. like my ram has been stable arnd 17.97 today. no significant leak or loss in memory. which is why i m using the 8mb pagepool for now. as mentioned hopefully Swiftblade will tweak and fix it for us. :D

feel free to participate in the testing of the 4mb PagePool rom when uploaded :D

yep! as u said. when we move from the default pagepool to a custom pagepool the limit set for RAM is opened to a certain level.

as we all can see when Swiftblade moved the default pagepool of 8mb to 4mb, you can see that the elf now has 51.73mb total program memory which was previously 47.72mb.

so with the 4mb pagepool version for the elf, the free program memory became ~27. and with stability at ~22mb.

now with the shipped roms, i had abt ~16mb at stability. so any programs i run cud only use up ~16mb of ram. sometimes i get messages sayin the phone is low on memory.

but now with the ~22mb i have an additional 6mb ram, that was previously hidden from us, but now available cos of 4mb pagepool set (thankx Swiftblade)

so coming to bottom line and as the answer for ur question, yes the performance of browsing the internet and other application are better!!!

and this wud be the same theory to elfin. when u use 18mb pagepool it wud be much better than havin a 24mb pagepool. and everyone knows the default pagepool is jus fine for the elfin, cos its got plenty to go around.

as one of my friend has an elfin also, most of his programs are open 24/7 and still its runs smoothly. but this is not the case for elf as it has only 64mb as ram out of which only ~22mb is available, unlike elfin which has ~107mb i think available

Get it and install it will do the job.
Also I think the Midlet Java Manager is not as good especially when it comes to displaying Chinese characters, so I downloaded the JRebeiro Esmertec Jbed 20071119.3.1, install this version only, don't bother with anything after this build.
Alos the Menu "Bing" sound is not there too, so need to install the Menu bing fix.
All in all, I have to say to the very details and the overall "useful / waste" ratio, Shadow does a better job, however, when it comes to build frequency, Blue wins.
My 18MB PP version of Elves still have issues with the UltimateLaunch from time to time, it may be the UL itself rather than the Elves, but it is the same build and version of UL that I use over the Shadow 2.1 as well and never had the same amount of problems.

Hi every body
I've read that u can change the pagepool without flashing ur ELFin by useing a Hex editor.
meaning u don't need to download all the ROM versions that Swiftblade have provided at the 1st page to test them to see which is convenient for ur ELFin.
u can use one and then by using this Hex editor u can change the pagepool into 8,12,16,24,36 pagepool !!!
Can u please give us all details about this aspect provided with the Hex editor software along with a step by step explanations.

Hi hellboy.. IGO 8 is extremely program memory intensive. I understand it required about ~21MB of program memory for it to run smoothly. It is almost impossible to run it on an ELF except on a very very clean ROM that can give you 28~30MB of program memory... Cheers

As I wrote already in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397933 I'm using iGO8 without any problems on Elf with quite old WM6 T-Mobile rom with just 18MB free memory. I've never been able to use it on any custom rom (or newer T-Mobile) even if I had more than 25 MB free.

OS.nb - A rom dump file before it's packaged into RUU rom file for flashing

Don't fret... unplug it and try again... If you have a SD card with 4GB or more, remove it before flashing... sometimes it need a few attempts to be successful.. Cheers

I'm running your ROM already for a long time and it worked perfectly.
Also with my bluetooth GPS receiver.
I deceided to reflash my device with the standard pagepool for elfins (that I have) because I thought their were maybe some updates.
Now I cannot connect with my bluetooth receiver anymore. I can pair my Elfin with the receiver no problem. But after 10 seconds the connection gets lost and I connot connect through bluetooth anymore.
If I remove the GPS receiver from the Elfin I can pair them again but after 3 seconds ..... same issue?
Do you have any solution? I do not understand why it works in the beginning and then not anymore???

Hi, Swiftblade.
I have been using your 5.0 ROM for a few months now, and everything was always smooth. It’s a great ROM, by the way.
A few weeks ago, after syncing my Elfin with my computer, it became very strange, extremely slow and it could only work well after shuting it down and restarting it.
I found some viruses in my computer, and was able to get it cleaned up. I scanned my Elfin too, but nothing was found.
Particularly, I found out that my Elfin locks up after I try to use the e-mail feature. Using Task Manager, I found out that an archive tmail.exe is using 100% of my CPU, every time I try to use the e-mail and the phone is extremely slow.
This keep happening and happening. I have to shut it down and restart it several times a week.
I tried to hard reset my Elfin, install others ROM, including my original one that came with my Elfin, but was unable to make it work like before that happened.
Any idea of how can I solve this problem? I still think that this can be due to a virus. Is there a way to completely erase my Touch and reinstall everything?

I had Blue Elves v5 and I tried to update my radio this evening but I bricked my Elfin, but after hours on XDA I rescued it and I am back to flashing. I hex edited the original blue elves v5.nbh (default PP) to increase the PP to 18mb as shown in your post [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2274534&postcount=1]

Everything is ok - the flash was fine and I am running the ROM well. I was wondering how do I check if my page pool is indeed 18MB? I am sure I will figure it out after some research but I would appreciate the help mate.

Everything is ok - the flash was fine and I am running the ROM well. I was wondering how do I check if my page pool is indeed 18MB? I am sure I will figure it out after some research but I would appreciate the help mate.

107.xx MB = 12MB Pagepool
101.xx MB = 18MB Pagepool
103.xx MB = 16MB Pagepool
95.xx MB = 24MB Pagepool

Oh man, my first big issue, i've been using Blue Elves 5.0 for months now super smooth but a couple days ago my device started acting up with these crazy symptoms:

1. Wifi stuck on, can never turn it off
2. Power button doesn't do anything if you press it (never turns off screen)
3. Screen is stuck on highest brightness (hitting the light bulb app does nothing)
4. Battery obviously drains like crazy

any help? i'm trying to avoid hard resetting *sigh* - i've tried off/on/softreset/battery-removal but doesn't go away, i also uninstall baterrystatus just in case it was related to overclocking but still weird

Hi LCyberFox.. It is indeed very bizziare to hear that such crazy things happened to your Touch out of the blues after running smoothly for months with the custom rom. Such occurrences are usually caused by your changing of settings or new software installations in recent days and not likely related to the rom itself.

Try to recall what changes you have done to the device in the last few days such as editing registry, software installations, make changes in Advanced Configuration Tool or Touch Settings, restoring backup system files, etc... and revert them or delete them.

If this still don't work, then I am afraid you have to do a hard reset and re-installed your favourite softwares. Do a PIM backup before you do that though. Cheers..

Having problems with SMS after using Blue 5.0 rom, sometimes (usually after openning and closing some programs) when i try to open SMS inbox, threaded sms won't show anymore, leaving only black lines at the place of the messages. When this happens, i don't get any notification from new sms received, and can't open new ones neither. I've tried disabling Threaded SMS, but still no notification for new messages, and can't open them.

Today i finally find where the problem comes from: when i press call button (the little green one on the left of the direction buttons) to get on calling interface, or when i press the hang up button (the red one on the right) to quit all openned programs and show Today, the sms problem occurs. Same thing when i try to open call interface via Touch FLO.

And when this problem occurs, i have to force close SMS program, and use "New SMS" option in Action screen, then close the empty new SMS windows brought up. Magically, when i launch SMS/MMS program again, it's back to normal.

And when i was using Blue rom V4.0, there was no such kind of problem.

Don't know if anyone had this kind of problem before, i've searched a lot in the forum and can't find a real solution. Seems i have to avoid pressing those 2 buttons for now. hehe

Problem: can send mms but can't receive.

The only reason I know your can't receive MMS is that the telco profile is not st properly. This rom the you have to manually set it by running Network Wizard and some UK & European telcos settings are also not right set. My advice is that you get the settings from your telco and manually set it on the device.

MY problem is... everytime i turn wifi on, and use opera, google maps, or MSN, in about 30seconds to 1 minute is lose its connection! It doesnt really lose connection, the htc shows that it is still connected but all internet functions stop working. I Hard Reset my phone and didnt fix it =/

The band page on the phone options does not show any numerical values(i.e. 900/1800/1900 frequencies). Is there anyway to tell which frequency my phone is running on? Original frequencies of my phone according to the manual that came with the phone is 900/1800/1900. I am using rogers and i know that rogers uses 850. My question is that when i upgraded to this rom did my original frequency change to 850 from either 900, 1800 or 1900?

Happy user of blue elves rom v? since the time i bought my touch (many months ago);i had to rma it due to an usb problem.
Orange gave me an elfin as replacement for it :).
So the first thing i did is flash it with v5 immediately.
Esmertec jbed seems to be replaced with intent midlet manager.
Intent is much performant in scrolling web pages,and can run 3d java apps (if i remember well).
The only problem i have is the time it takes to connect to another web page in operamini 4.1..
I'm too lazy to read 80 forum pages.
Is this the way intent works and should i install another midlet manager?

Finally got it working. Somehow IsEnabled was not 1 after a soft reset. So, I have to write a small program to keep it enabled after soft reset.

it is better that u flash one of the USPL's depending upon ur phone. if it is Elf, then use Elf_USPL, if ur phone is Elfin then use Elfin_USPL. once u do that, u can flash any cooked ROM without a problem. but refrain from installing any shipped ROM which doesnt match ur DID/CID. i hope this helps :)

my advice is, first u should know if ur phone is Elf or Elfin. once u do that, then flash the compatible USPL coz there are two versions, one for Elf and another for Elfin. if u flash a wrong one, ur phone will not boot.

I'm having problems with my HTC Elf (ELF0100). I have the Blue Elves5.0 with a 03.07.90 Radio. The unit has a signal but when I try sending SMS, it always say that the message can't be sent. The same thing happens when I try to make a call, the signal strength is high but I can't make the call. What I did was I changed from Phone mode to Flight mode then back to Phone mode just to troubleshoot, and the messages keep coming. Please help me with this issue, I can't properly receive/send message nor make calls if I don't switch from Phone mode to Flight mode back to Phone mode. I hope you get what I'm trying to tell here..

Hope you'd appreciate some feedback. One thing i found was an application "NewSMS" launches the same program as "Advanced Config". Was it a mistake?

And something out of topic, could anyone tell me how to disable the Cube? I dont use it.

Flashing the rom will not SIM unlocked your device. It will temporary CID unlocks it and flash the new rom to your device.

To SIM unlock you have to do something else which can be found in somewhere in the forum.

I flashed [WM 6.1] NEW BLUE ELVES ROM V5.0 - CE OS 5.2.2021 FLAWLESSLY and I have NO problems with it so far. I have tried everything except Bluetooth, with I rarely use. And it does indeed go into standby. I have an HTC Touch (128/256MB). I will report any issues that I find, if any.

Yes, you are right.

Your radio firmware remains unaffected by this ROM (or any other ROM available from this site), it stays just as it was before flashing, it is not related to the ROM you have flashed. It will keep on working with any new ROM.

You will have to run a wizard under Settings -> Connections -> Connection Setup after flashing, to reinstall your provider's GPRS and connection settings. Your provider should be on the list. Your phone will work anyway, even if you don't run the wizard, but your GPRS might be unavailable until then (or until you set it up manually).


I have flashed many different ROMs to my device, but I've never changed the radio firmware. It is a separate flash for the people who like to change it. I am still using the one originally provided by the manufacturer because I think the radio works perfectly and I don't see the point in changing it.


Cooked ROMs, on the other hand, really do provide a lot of improvement, especially on 64 MB elf devices. I am grateful to all the cooks around here because my Elf was hardly usable when it came from the shop. It was so irritating slow, especially for someone like me, used to the lightning speed of the Palm OS devices...

well from my past experiences v3.02 or v.5.0 is the best for stability
try wm 6.1 aku 1.0.4 if u want more stablility and faster rom
or wm 6.1 aku 1.3.1 rom for the fastest rom around.

Hi lads!

Very huge THANKS for this ROM. It gives a new life to my Touch old of 1year. It's the first ROM loaded on it. Easy to install, easy to use, such big changes, i can't beileve how fast my Touch is now. It was in French, I thought impossible to change the language instead this ROM did it so easily. Ive downloaded it 4hours ago, either it's a Bug or my battery is still at 100%. Before, just 30min on it and 50% battery less. It's just amazing.

1. Last week I updated my radio ROM to 3.21.90. To do that I had to flash pof's USPL. Will that interfere in any way with flashing Blue Elves? How should I proceed?

2. Where can I find Hibernate 1.4? Swiftblade mentioned "cab available". I use SKtools currently, but I'm not sure if it contains it's own "hibernate" or it just calls a system "hibernate"

1. pof's USPL is the one u need for installing cooked ROMs. so its not a problem. u can flash this ROM without any fear.
2. everything is available, just search the application's name using google.

1. pof's USPL is the one u need for installing cooked ROMs. so its not a problem. u can flash this ROM without any fear.

Hope you'd appreciate some feedback. One thing i found was an application "NewSMS" launches the same program as "Advanced Config". Was it a mistake?

And something out of topic, could anyone tell me how to disable the Cube? I dont use it.

New SMS could have to do with advanced config not supporting these links anymore since a specific version.

That could have to be because either of Incompatibility with newer .Net 3.5 or try disabling Threaded SMS. (again should be posted to the Elf registry tricks in the WIKI)

hey swiftblade great rom but just that i can't seem to use pocket e-sword. it works on other roms but when i installed it using ur rom the pocket e-sword can't seem to find the .bbl(bible) files. pls help.

Also might be with incompatibility with new .net 3.5.

In fact, I'm quite afraid to flash the USPL...strange....may be because I don't know precisely the version of my SPL.(in my opinion it should be 1.11 because it's an old -around april 07- Elf100 but I don't know). Too afraid too brick it.....
I will use the method of CID by pass, it has worked once perfectly it should work again.

So I'll keep you aware :-).

u need not to worry about updating the radio as long as u follow the instructions properly. and about the LG menu, its not possible to remove it. better would be if u can cook the ROM yourself so that u can add softwares of your choice.

yes, this is WWE - world wide english, your rom will be english, u can search dutch language rom (NLD rom) somewhere in this forum.

I started dumping my ROM as safety measure, just as the instructions say should be the first step. Everything seemed to work fine, but then I found this log in my Elf "itsutils.log", and it contains quite a lot of error messages, please see below:

PS: I got an Elf0100 64/128. ROM 1.11.707.1B WWE, I have dumped my ROM and I got an nbh file around 74MB

I have an original Elf, I upgraded to the new HTC/Vodafone Australia ROM image and after 5 days of black screen crashes it had to go.

Then I found this ROM (installed the 4Mb pagepool) and I'm stunned - brilliant brilliant !! This is better than than ANY official release, in fact it feels like I have a brand new phone.

As a final touch I put on battery status to overclock it. My HTC Elf-Turd has been reborn as an Elf-Diamond!!

I know similar questions have been asked in other threads but I figured I would ask again since this is ROM specific.

Just curious what other users battery life is with this ROM.

I find myself recharging daily with minimal usage. 15-20 min Wifi. 10 minute call, and 10-20 minutes of listeing to music. Rest of the time my phone is on standby.

Only programs installed is PCM KB & Battery status.

I'm using CPU Scaler set at 100-201-247

Battery Status shows 250ma of usage.

Is there something running in the background that i'm not aware of? If so how can I find out.

Just flashed this rom. It's really good. Very fast and stable and I like the LG menu. Just a couple of questions about the LG menu though:

- New mms goes to inbox, is it supposed to be that way?
- Is it possible to make contacts go to iContact or PocketCM instead of outlook?
- Can usb stick be made to point to wm5torage? goes to wifi now.

Help. I tried to upgrade from V4.o to V5.0 with 4MB Pagepool. My upgrade got stuck at my second tried again. I managed to reset my system at my first tried but during the second installation, the system hanged with Red/Greed/Blue screen. Tried a few times hard reset and also remove my battery with no luck to recover it.

Can anyone please advise what should I do now??

Is there another link instead of the Rapidshare link for the Blue Elves ROM V5.0 (Build 19521) [WM 6.1] 4MB Page Pool. Reason is I am from S'pore and my broadband provider is Starhub. And whenever I click on the Rapidshare link, they limit only to one user for Stubhub. Hence I am never able to download the Blue Elves ROM V5.0.

I put Blue Elves 5.0 Rom on my Touch XL a while back, I guess it was probably the original 8mb pagepool version, and all is cool in my world. There seems to be a 24mb version of blue elves, and I noticed a Rom specifically for the touch XL. Basically my question then is, is it worth upgrading my Rom, and if so to which one? I like the Rom so far, but just want to get the best from the machine. I don't exactly use all of the possible features, it's mainly for a phone, but with bonuses, so I guess speed and reactiveness are my biggest desire.

Any ideas, suggestions, and maybe a link too. Cheers. Steve

Since installing this rom my audible/visual alert settings for things like incoming text messages and emails keeps resetting to the default which is no alerts at all. Is there some way to force those settings to survive resets, like a registry setting that can be changed? Thanks for any help.

I finally flashed my phone with this excellent ROM! :) It's slightly faster than the previous one (though so far I didn't overclock). Now first things first:
CONGRATULATIONS, this is an excellent ROM and all the process is quite easy to follow.

Next step: questions:
1. When will WM6.1 be officially released? Will there be a Blue Elves based on it?
2. Can I add items to LG buttons?
3. There is a new version of Batt Status on Aug 19, is it compatible with BlueElves5? I read that some previous versions had freezes and crashes.

After a few days my WIndows Live is not connecting. Cannot connect Messenger, check mail or do anything with it. Doesn't work connected through ActiveSync either. After a second hard reset - nada. Anyone else with the same problem? Any solution? TIA.

No worries, found the solution. Nothing to do with ROM (which I enjoy very much), but rather a new theme I installed. Just occured to me that the problem coincided with the install, removed it and sure enough, as expected, everything is back to normal. Bugger, though, as I loved the new theme

I finally flashed my phone with this excellent ROM! :) It's slightly faster than the previous one (though so far I didn't overclock). Now first things first:
CONGRATULATIONS, this is an excellent ROM and all the process is quite easy to follow.

Next step: questions:
1. When will WM6.1 be officially released? Will there be a Blue Elves based on it?
2. Can I add items to LG buttons?
3. There is a new version of Batt Status on Aug 19, is it compatible with BlueElves5? I read that some previous versions had freezes and crashes.

Help. I tried to upgrade from V4.o to V5.0 with 4MB Pagepool. My upgrade got stuck at my second tried again. I managed to reset my system at my first tried but during the second installation, the system hanged with Red/Greed/Blue screen. Tried a few times hard reset and also remove my battery with no luck to recover it.

Can anyone please advise what should I do now??

There is an HTC Album Cab available somewhere here that allows you to set the folder you want to browse even on the mem card.
Alternatively, there may be a reg hack that can be done - but this is me making an assumption:D:D

If you have an XDA Nova (Elf) then the best pagepool will be 4MB or 6MB.. Cheerz

i don't have knowledge about vogue. u should search the vogue forums and ask the guys over there.
btw, Elf/Elfin itself means GSM version of Touch just like Vogue means CDMA version of the Touch.

There is an instruction document attached that gives specific instructions and start.bat is not the first step. Read them all before doing it. I have not done this yet, but have done loads of research on ROM updating (Im a lost noobie). This one seems the most straight forward with the instructions.

My question. If SPL, IPL, or USPL's (which I have no idea what they mean nor which of the two actually are the ones since I cant remember) are not updated in this. Once I get my new Elfin and flash this rom, will that mean i am still at 2.20.0000 or will i be at the 2.28 that speeds up the machine as I hear. Love the ROM, but I'm having just one issue...

I put in my Rogers APN settings for GPRS data, so I can use it when I like, but I cannot disable the connection. If I turn off the connection in Comm Manager it automatically turns itself back on and reconnects. When I disable the data connection, instead of turning white with a small X, it gets greyed out.

If anybody has a solution for this, I would love to hear it.

I guess I actually had two issues with this ROM, the other is that since I have installed it, I can no longer connect to my home WiFi net, while I could with the stock Rogers firmware. Still works on most WiFi though, no complaints.

after that i even was able to install manila 2d on it.

Qs. Can we have Manila 2d in Blue Elves Ver 6.0 if yes when can we have it :P

I just have installed this ROM on my HTC Elfin.
The ROM is great but now I've a problem: I can't enstablysh an ActiveSync connection...into the original ROM there was a command in Settings=>connections=>"USB connection" that turn off "advanced USB mode" or something like this...in this ROM is there something similar?

I have being breaking my head trying to figure out why, but after flashing my MMS service went dead. I have all the options to configure (I have them configured the same way than before, trust me) but all the messages just locate into the outbox without doing nothing. I don't know if I can receive, but for sure I can't send.

SMS works fine tho.

Any ideas? I want to keep the ROM, I love it... but this is a little annoying :(

i've got a brand new htc touch and have been trying to upgrade it to your rom , but unsuccessfully.
when i connect the device to to pc via usb it does not recognize it, although it starts to recgarge the battery.
i tried on several pcs including vista , different usb cables..but nothing.
tried to hard reset the device.
i even tried to flash it via bluetooth ( it connects to pc's active sync via bluetooth without issues) , but the flash proccess stucks on the device after step 2.
can i ask for help here..anyone can give me an advice?
is it possible to flash via bluetooth somehow ?
htc touch does not have a warranty , couse i bought it outside my country.

I've just flashed this rom on my elfin, and everything was ok, everything but the splash screen

Now I see thwo splash screen, first a (rather ugly) vodafone red splash and then the htc splash. After that, the wm6.1 loading window and that's it.

I'ts everything ok with my two splashes or did something went wrong?
How can I get rid of it?

Hey guys. I have a Touch XL, which I am still assuming counts as an Elfin. So I'm thinking of sticking on the 24mb pagepool version instead of the 4MB version I have now. But I seem to be unable to download the file from Mediashare, just keeps saying I have exceeded my limits. Anyone have the file somewhere else that I can download it from?

Hi all, I just upgraded to the 24MB pagepool version of this, and it doesn't seem as stable as the original one I used. Can't really explain things to well just seems to hang every now and again. Should I go back to the 8 or 12?

Plus since updating the phone. I notice that now I have got back the annoying SMS notification thing on the home page. This is meant to be disabled I believe, and indeed when I look at the advanced config program it is set as such. Anyone know how to get rid of it? Do I need to alter something in the registry?

I have flashed this rom & it works fine but after 2-3 days it started giving me a error as "The device is on low memory. Please stop programs not is use ...... or may not be able to open other program"

But when i check with Task manager I don't find any task running.

When I checked my Memory status program memory is showing as
Total : 47.72 MB
In use 45.41 MB
Free: 2.31 MB

If I am not wrong it started after I configured my email account . Does the emails uses the program memory ? If yes then how to change the path to storage memory ?

Also can I change the page pool memory ?? How much should i set ?

Can I flash this rom to my device as it is or do I have to rewrite an original SPL to it before flash

OK I got it now & just in case any one else is as stoned as me, that means don't use pof's uspl run the one thats included with this rom as there is no need to Unlock the spl as it's included in the download... Doh! I think

Anyway now I got IPL and SPL 3.07 sweet runs much quiker and boots faster although I'm using a different rom now (onyx micro), but i'll probably change again, what am I saying, oh yeah all you rom cookers have got some great products.

What would be good is like crap I forgot never mind I'll edit the post if I remember

Since it is using a wm6.0 base rom, you might need to downgrade to 2.28 Hard SPL/USPL. Try with your Hard SPL anyways, and if it fails then use older Hard SPL or USPL.

I have got a fres install of Blue Elves ROM V5.0 - Windows Mobile 6.1 (4MB Pagepool) to my ELF. It just works great, and the system info displays 20.43 MB program free. Skype 2.4 seems however not to have got enough resources to run smoothly using my own WAPed WiFi.
Should I retry with a greater Pagepool?
Is that a normal behaviour, is any cure available?

Can i falsh BLUE ELVIS VERSION 5.0 ROM to my mobile??
