Hi guys, I'm gonna try to update to this
WM6 Platinum Edition 5.2.1711.18165.0.5.0 SP1, but i already have the WM6 English 5.2.1616.18120 Standard v3.7 (FINAL!) installed on my phone. My real reason why I'm writing this is, what are the steps needed to be taken to update my phone since I have the 1616.18120 version installed already. I have a feeling that I can miss some steps, but i don't know where to start.
I have a few suggestions for you, but first a question. Do you have problems with the current ROM that you are using? I strongly suggest you go to the first post of this thread and read all that this ROM has, and compare it to the one you have. That will help you decide if you need a ROM upgrade or not. If you do have a need to upgrade, you can follow these links, both by Karhoe

Okay i really like this updated ROM... the previous version of WM6 was running slow on my SDA. So i supercid and flashed it with this latest updated ROM and it runs great. to everyone that had similar slowness i recommend u go over and upgrade to this new version. it also has lesser programs installed by default so that could be another reason for the faster speed. anyway i like this one... my phone is great.. love it...

Hello,
Since weeks, I´m considering to upgrade to WM6 (my QTEK 8300 is still original with WM5), but the only reason I would upgrade is speed...
- Do you feel that your phone with WM6 runs faster than with WM5 ?
- So finally you are using the "platinum" version, right ? (I don´t know which one will be faster, Platinum or Standard version)
Thank you.
thanks nitrogenious

It seems that there is a memory leak... After 5 days, without a soft reset (restart), the OS start giving errors such as "Can't find ':MSStart' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are avaiable. " when trying to open Start Menu.
Or "Can't find ':MSCDial' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are avaiable." when trying to open the Dial window.
And so ON (:MSREMOTE, :MSSettings, :MSPIE etc).
When trying to open an unsigned application (via Homescren only - can't open StartMenu in this situation) it give this error: ""Access denied. The program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate".
It seems that the OS does 'forget' the registry and since the OS is highly based on registry.. it starts acting weird.
Also in this time I wasn't able to receive calls (even to be noticed about them) - I've made a test.
So the solution is a soft reset (restart).
I think all of these has to do with Page Pool minimizing (from 8MB to 6MB).. And I'm don't want to reflash the ROM just for that :-S (Page Pool can be changed easely, via WinHex - more info here (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ChangingPagePoolofWizardWM6Roms ), OR via an application made by andot - I don't remember its name right now)
I've set the page pool to 8MB (btw, thx Nitro for that tool!) and the problem persists... after ~5days, without a soft reset, the phone start to act like this.
May be a bug with this build... or I don't know :-S

Please tell us how you use your phone.
What softs do you usually run? Is it a virgin install that's leaking, or do we need to try to rule out any other possible confounds (contributors or causes)?
Do you make below/average/above average numbers of calls?
Are you using media player? A2DP?
Do you use bluetooth or wifi?
Are you using the SD to for IE cache and other stuff?
Check that your phone isn't writing to device anyway. I remember a WM5 error where, if the storage card folder didn't exist or couldn't be read by the device fast enough on boot, WM would continue to write it to the device (but I can't remember where). So check the device cache folders and the storage folders to ensure activity seems to take place where it ought to.
Try this; create an empty registry key like the following:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell\NeverDorkMemory
Do not enter any value.
Sound stupid? Well it won't hurt and the jury's out (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=260469), but it used to do something for WM2003 and it won't hurt (yes, I said that twice).
Have you every tried using sktools to clean out the registry? You'd need a full version if only for a one time experiment.

You asked this question several times - and got the same answer several times - in the NEO thread. If the answer was NO in that thread, what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks makes you think you'll get a YES in this one?
If you're so desperate to have NEO go install the WM6 cook that has NEO built in, or else cook your own. But asking the same question eight different ways in two or three different threads is not going to magically make NEO work on this ROM.

Exitao thanks for the reply.
Now I have a WM6.1 ROM (by GnatGoSplat).
About Platinium ROM..
I have used the phone the same as with the other ROMs I've tried.
And with previus ROMs I haven't encountered this problem.
Applications: xbar, right menu, automatic keylock, jbed (opera mini), internet explorer, etc. The first 3 were working all the time in background.
I usally use the phone for internet browsing, occasionally for calls.
I don't use WMP, A2DP. I'm using mini smartlyrics for music.
I think I haven't used BT that time.
SPV C600 doesn't have built-in Wifi
The problem is not with the applications I'm using. Nor the card (the cache is set on main memory for performance)
Leave the phone more than 5 days without a soft reset and tell me the result.
The "NeverDorkMemory" trick, as I've read, is for PPC WM2003 that had the ability to adjust storage/RAM memory.
Anyway, someone from other forum said that with 10MB Page Pool it doesn't have this issue.

Well, apparently it locked the slider for the storage, but there were many claims that it defragged.
I've been doing a fair bit of reading. There's a possibility that Activesync is part of the problem.
There's a trick to enter a fake address for a server in Activesync, to enable the schedule settings, adjust the schedule (which was greyed out w/o a server) and then delete the server settings later.
You might want to use celetask and make it show the hidden processes to check that windows ce is closing the apps as it should. Should you encounter this problem again.
In my case, I just couldn't go a full 5 days w/o rebooting. I'm always tweaking. I've gone just over 3 days with no dumbness, but I do get anal about shutting down anything that uses memory...

I'm experiencing delay key responses in my Qtek 8310.. namely with the left, home, back and right keys right below the LCD. They used to be a bit more responsive with VM5. Also the left and back key sometimes require more than one press. All the other keys work fine. Is there key patch around to resolve these issues.
Thanks...

Are you overworking your phone(multi-tasking)? Meaning, too many programs open in the BG. Thats what it sould like to me. It's only done that to me when I got 4 or 5 programs running in the BG. Use Celestask(its included with this rom) and see how many tasks you are running at once. Also, see how much free memory you have. If you have an SD, try to always install on SD as much as you can to keep phone mem free. If not, provide more info about your phone and what programs you have running when this happens.

No multi-tasking during the delays all apps closed. When I receive a call and hit the Answer (Left Button) sometimes I end up hitting the key twice which ends up sending the call to phonemail. I have installed most of my apps to my SD cards except for those that have to leave their footprint in the device like .NET Compact Framework. While I have no "Tasks" running when I experience the problem... below is a list of the "Processes" that I see running in the background and the memory info via CeleTask.
1. Settings.exe
2. Rkeyen.exe
3. tmail.exe
4. CommManager.exe
5. SmsClassZero.exe
6. MortScript.exe
7. Keylock.exe (Mania's Automatic Keylock ver. 4.02)
8. SAPSettings.exe
9. VistaHide Battery Gauge.exe
Are all of the above processes (except for Keylock) supposed to be running by default with Nitro's ROM?

In my opinion based on my experience with my phone, When Outlook is checking mail and a call comes in, by the time the phone disconnects GPRS and hooks up the call, sometimes I miss the call. Or lags so bad that even when I did answer, It says, I missed call. So try turning off the Auto thing on the email and see if that helps mate. Good Luck!

Would there be a way to assign an optional 2nd Key to do the "ENTER" funtion that is usually done by pressing the D-Pad? ("Push to Talk") I have need for Push n Hold the enter key and for some reason, even though its a new keypad, I can hold down the mouse but it acts as if I only pressed and released it. Or maybe I need to tweek something so that there is a LongHold Enter ?
Edit: This particular problem happens when I try to send Voice messages on Palringo. I haven't had the need for the "push to talk" on any other aplication.

Yesterday, while cleaning the main memory, I removed some files believing that they were remainings of WML install/uninstall's. Aparently some of those files were related to MMS. Now when I go look for MMS under Messaging, MMS is no where there.
Thank You.
EDIT: Problem Solved. I was able to do a Partial Restore using Sprite Backup. Strange piece of software. It wouldn't do a full restore, but it did a partial. Thanks for reading.

Hi All, Its bn nice time I always, spending in this forum. Lots of leaning and very decent crowd, great cookers !! all that.
Let me start with WM6.1 eval of GnatGoSplat. Thanks dude letting us having 6.1 on our tornados before OEM. The main UI is much easier, ( however there are similar UI applications that we can install on SP’s as 3rd party softs. It is considerably fine if you are familiar with xml, you can customize all most all the applications running off from the home sliders. Hope this UI will develop more and more later in more flexible way. The other best option I loved was tread SMsing. Much easier than most of the 3rd party thread sms clients in the market.
During my testing period I had bit of an issues with the rom. That’s fine, its understood that this rom is cooked and still need to fine tune lot. If you are ok to install this version just for the GUI, its nice to have. However I experienced major power consumption issue. You will drain your battery in few ours , if you are a user who is using your SP for lot of your day to day work as a student , developer or as a business person. The other issue is paging (memory) and if you just use the unit 1,2 hours continuously, your GUI get flickery, shaky due to memory issue means you have to reboot!
So basically this rom needs more optimization. hope our grate cookers will do something in future for all of us with 6.1.
Nitro! You rox man. Your platinum version is the best and most reliable version what I found so far. I know most of people asking for vanilla versions, if any one really experienced the additional app-bundle what comes with most of these cooked roms , you will find the vanilla is just nothing and MS will have a fit if all started to complain about !!.
The core is much more optimized and supper fast. Good registry tweaks, and good integrations too. Almost all apps what you have introduced are very useful. I only found that the Mobile Config beta is giving some form errors. Sure there will be an update for it soon.
Memory managing is much cooler than any other rom and you don’t want to restart due to slow ness. Thanks all the seniors !!. the Newly introduced startup script for the screen notify is rocking. Its great. I would love if I can see any wallet application bundled with, and if we have sms treading incorporated, Then we have all and I’m not going to change my tornado for next 2 years.
NiTroGenious, vjgrace, karhoe, andot, thanks a million , you guys have done lot of work and spent lot of time to let others SP work best !!

The 2125 does not have wifi, but for free I cant complain. battery life seems to be ok i suppose, I havent had it for very long so only time will tell. i currently have the T-mo MDA aka HTC Wizard, but thought I would play with this phone for a bit.

I have this ROM in my Tornado as I look in the Long_Home.lnk file the content reads 21#:Long_Home. Also under Settings -> UI Tweaks -> Hardware Keys -> Long Press Home Key is associated with Task Manager. Still when I press the Home key for a few seconds Celetask, not Task Manager comes up. I just installed Celetask on a BJII and I only get Task Manager when I press the Home key for a few seconds.
Three questions.
1.) How do I associate and disassociate Celetask, Task Manager or any other application to/from long presses of the Home key?
2.) How do I get this "UI Tweaks" installed in another phone?
3.) Can someone explain what "21#:Long_Home" in the Long_Home.Link refers to?

Well, I went ahead and installed the ROM, and SlingPlayer works fine with it. I'm having some problems, though, with powering down and with my Bluetooth connections. My phone is very slow to respond now to the power down command (holding down the power key). Re: the Bluetooth connection, the volume is too low when connected to my Motorola headset, and there is no audio at all output from my Harman/Kardon GPS-810 when I connect it to my phone (and there were no such problems with WM5). Has anyone else experienced the same?
Also, the search bar does not appear on my Home Screen when I select it after installing that Windows Live application. What's up with that?

The rom is really cool. I installed the key fixed for sp5m and all are working(I thought). I prefer TCPMP than windows media player, so I changed the short cuts Short_AP2, Short_AP3 & Short_AP4 to link to TCPMP player and it is working except some wrong key mapping like prev. key as play, play key as next, and next key do nothing except invoking TCPMP..
And another thing I like is Long_APx, I created these links but not working. Anybody know fix for these, kindly tell me...
Another issue is Vito Audio Notes autorecord is not working on this rom.. any solution?

Hello,
I have a problem with my SPV C600 (HTC Tornado), I have tried to update the ROM to WM6, the phone being application unlocked, I didn't used SuperCID first. I think this was a mistake, because after the RUU completed succesfully the upload, I've restarted the phone and the only thing I see now are some 3 rgb stripes. Please help!

Thats called the BootLoader. Start all over and follow Karhoe's tutorial for TORNADO!!

I believe you will need to find a ship rom and install that first. Ship ROMs are in Exe format, as long as phone can connect to PC and go in bootloader, you shouldn't have a problem. But you need to find a ship rom for your device (ship rom = OEM Rom)

Thank you very much, but I think I need the Orange ROM, and unfortunally I didn't find any on ftp.
I have a question though, I've found a RUU on the orange website, for the exact same phone model (SPV C600), but it returns the following error: Invalid vendor ID. Is there a posibility to revive the smartphone?

Resolved. Thanks a lot.
Resolution steps:
0. first of all, the nbf tool I was using to edit .nbf file header data had a problem, because after editing and saving the nbf file this was 1kB size.
1. took the c600_email.exe RUU from orange UK website
2. extract the installer using winrar
3. open nk.nbf with another typhoonnbftools utility
4. Tools -> Edit Header Data and deleted the Operator value (it was: ORG_0401, seted to blank)
5. "File -> Save as" to save the nbf file (~40 MB size)
6. overwrite the .nbf in the RUU directory with the previously saved one.
7. launch the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Thanks guys. Good luck.

safe to assume that this works flawlessly on a T-Mo SDA? Sorry for my ignorance but I haven't been in the scene for awhile and am thinking of updating my SDA from wm5 to wm6. I'm mostly concerned about the limited internal memory in the SDA.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes, SP1 is my latest version. Unfortunately I cannot cook a WM6.1 ROM at the moment, because I'm serving in the army. (107 more days to go)
"Sliding panels" is a feature of WM6.1, not WM6. I am not aware of any stand-alone installation of it for WM6, so my answer is "no".

This is a very nice ROM btw. I went back to this one after using the RickWyatt 6.1 because it supports voice tagging and Rick's doesn't. :D

Hi Lisandro, you may to syncronice your device with you PC to have a backup of your contacts in Outlook and other thinks such calendar and files.
Then you flash the ROM in your phone and then sync again the phone and the calendar and contacts back again to the phone.
This threat is in english, i speak spanish too, if you want, visit my page (http://luisjoseb.googlepages.com/wm61install) this is in spanish and have some information about flashing the phone and links to others ROMS such Windows Mobile 6.1 standard and professional.

Have you done all the steps here? You have to SuperCID, unset USB in ActiveSync, use Tera Term, format, reset USB in ActiveSync, and then run the updates. Lots of steps in there.

You may also want to try a hard reset -- pull the battery.

If you can get to bootloader, try reflashing the rom. If terraterm says it can't connect, make sure that in activesync or wmdc the USB connection is disabled and if you are in vista make sure that wmdc.exe is not running.

Hi all,

What does it mean - I can't remove Vodaphone branding and can't do changes in regystry? And also I can't change ROM?
At the moment I am also not able to install homescreen-cab file - vodafone locking allow nothing - terrible.
Can I change situation ? I need your help. How can I unlock and change ROM?
Is the v1240 same than QTEK8310?

WM6 English ROM Platinum Edition (Service Pack 1)
Important Note: Since Feb 12th I'm serving in the army (one-year mandatory service). Although I'm not able to work on the ROM from there, I read the forum almost every day. I'll support my ROM on every change I get. I also plan on releasing a kitchen in the near future (possibly at the end of March), so that you'll be able to cook your own custom ROMs.

A big hello here from a "first-time caller, long-time listener" :-)
Firstly, just wanted to congratulate Nitro on a great ROM - a fantastic start to what's likely to become a long tradition of ROM-flashing for me :-)
Secondly, a big thank you to Karhoe, without whom I wouldn't have dared to try to flash my ROM. Your step-by-step guide was invaluable, and when money is less tight, I will donate something to your bandwith fund as a little thank you.
So, back to the ROM. Just one problem I think might need reporting. Like many Tornado users, I had problems with the joystick on my C600 when using the original Orange ROM. I updated to AKU2.0, and the problem vanished. Sadly, since upgrading to this ROM, the old problem has reappeared - ie. it takes several pushes on the joystick to get any response.
I've done a bit of Googling and it seems like most people found that they didn't have a problem while they were using the AKU2.0 ROM, so is there any way of inserting the AKU2.0 joystick drivers to this ROM somehow, or adding them to a future version?
Thanks,
Michael.
Note: It's not something that can be solved by wiggling the joystick or squirting WD40 (I've tried both) - it seems to be a driver issue.

Nice work, my favorite. I do have some questions about modding the look/behavior:
1) what is with the 22005 that is displayed on home page, instead of the provider's name (right above the WiFi notification)?
2) how can I change the backcolor of the selected item frame? I see that changing the default option for Home Screen changes it, so there should be some registry tweak.
3) how can I uninstall some software that you have cooked into the ROM? I have 2-3 programs that I will definetly never use.
4) is there some tweak that will allow me to send any file over bluetooth (or WiFi) through windows explorer? Altough I am a definite fan of TotalCmd, at the moment I find it very difficult to use.
5) can I organize icons in the main menu, in the way I want them to be?
Any info on any question is appreciated.

1) what is with the 22005 that is displayed on home page, instead of the provider's name (right above the WiFi notification)?
This is the tweek I use to fix that: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\RIL\Operator Names]
"310490"="T-MOBILE" Replace "310490" with "22005" and "T-Mobile" with "Your Operator Name"

3) how can I uninstall some software that you have cooked into the ROM? I have 2-3 programs that I will definetly never use.You can't uninstall programs cooked into ROM. You can always cook your rom with or without the programs you like/dislike.
WM6 ROM Kitchen for Tornado By Nitrogen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388222)
I believe cookers have the best will to share their work with us, but can't satisfy each and everyone of us. Or you can you can install one of the Clean ROM's and install the programs you like.
4) is there some tweak that will allow me to send any file over bluetooth (or WiFi) through windows explorer? Altough I am a definite fan of TotalCmd, at the moment I find it very difficult to use.
You can send files to your PC via Active Sync (Wired or over BT)
5) can I organize icons in the main menu, in the way I want them to be?Use Total comander from phone to creat new folders in your /windows/Start Menu folder and organize the program short cuts as you wish. You can do so also via Active Sync.
Any info on any question is appreciated.
Hope this answers some of your questions. Keep in mind cookers do this for Free. They do welcome any donations for their hard work. If they recived a donation for every request they recieve, i'm sure they would consider making custom rom's for each donator :)

If you meant that I need to create a value with value name = 22005 and value data = MyProvider, I did so and nothing changed (I did restart phone to be sure). In Operator Names key there where two values: LastEquipmentState and RILProxyLogNormal.
Also, is there a catch how to search in registry editor?

My question was related to sending files to another phone, not PC. Current explorer doesnt allow me to send files over bluetooth.

I use CeRegEditor. It installs on PC and you can do search. Total Comander also has search. Once you open Total Comander, go to //Plugins then to ///Registry... then File... More... Find Files

Use Total Comander. Find the file you want to send and chose option send by bluetooth.

What assigns the order of appereance? Why is Tasks the first link?
He, interesting. When I tried with the built in PHM registry editor, it displays the value as created, even when I restart the phone, and still displaying the number. However, using TC the value I can see in PHM is not seen in TC registry. WHen I created value though TC, it now displays name. :) I dont see the point of PHN registry editor, since TC has built in support. I think it should be excluded. :)

Results****When I try to run the .cab file I get "unsuccessful" install error
Second attempt
I download the rar file, send it to the phone without any extraction and run rar for smartphone.

What phone do you have? You'll need to re-flash with Ship Rom for your phone and that will bring you back to grownd 0. Then restart following proceedures. You can find the ship roms for most tornado's at the FTP. Go from here:
ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/smartphones/Tornado/Shipped_Complete_Updates/
Good Luck!

STOP!!!! Do not flash your phone with my ROM. T-mobile SDA II is NOT a Tornado, but a Hurricane. Please go to this section http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?&f=283 to upgrade your phone.
Luckily, my ROM does not include a bootloader and that's why you did not brick your phone.
EDIT: Now that I read again your posts... Are you sure you have a T-mobile SDA II? Because you could not "revive" your phone with the official Tornado ROM if it wasn't a Tornado.

Hi, flashing was realtively simply but it left me with a minor problem. I cannot get the Media player to work. Selecting it and then looking at the options and selecting "key" choices indicate the wrong set of keys for my SDA. How do I change them to get the player to work

Strangely the complete Network Folder in the Start menu (\Windows\Start Menu\Network) disappeared suddenly; I cannot remember deleting it (why should I?)
Can anybody kindly post this folder (as a zip file), so I don't have to create all the shortcuts manually. :o
Thanks in advance! :)

Did you install the HTC Network plugin for file sharing? It creates a virtual "Network" folder that makes the real Network folder disappear (bug!). Uninstall the plugin, rename the Network folder to something else, eg. LAN or Internet, and reinstall the HTC Network plugin. ;)

You made my day! Installation of the HTC Network Plugin was the reason for the trouble!
Now everything is ok again (besides with the Network Plugin I still only see the computers in the network but no shared folders... any ideas?)

Hi Nitro
I know you're busy and enjoying life:cool:. I am trying to rip-off the security/lock feature of the Tornado to be ported over to my TouchPro. Alas! No luck. If you have the chance can you please try for me.
The PPC security/lock feature when on will not show the home screen. To view, the pin have to be entered. Quite cumbersome. Unlike the smartphone. No wonder they named it smartphone:D
Take care

there is this annoying thing that happens whenever i get a call...
i press the talk button and there is a nasty little 4 or 5 second delay before i get connected to the call and talk to the other person....
and also whenever i want to make a call by directly typing the number from the home screen, the first number shows up instantly but there is a delay again between the first and second number being shown
hope you have a solution for this

I am having problem with this update (may not related). I try to re-locate the email storage suing the following
HKLM\\System\Inbox\Settings\PropertyPath with value \Storage Card\Messaging
HKLM\\System\Inbox\Settings\AttachPath with value \Storage Card\Messaging\Attachments
It doesn't seem to work. I also try this
HKLM\\System\Inbox\Settings\PropertyPath
value \Storage Card\Messaging
It doesn't work. I want to know if someone has the same problem and how can I solve it.
Two more problems,
(1) The MobileConfig has some error message when you use "EXIT" to quit the problem.
(2) The GPRS not working. I try so many different way to setup the GPRS. I have no luck at all. I have Tytn II using the same setting. It is working fine. (May or Maynot related the firmware. I don't know)

Turning on my olddddddddd tornado. Still lives with NiTro's ROM, lets see where was it that I put everything.....
Go to Settings>>Connections>>>GPRS>>Add New>>
Description: SunGPRS
Connects To: The Internet
Access Point: minternet
However, look at the last post on THIS WEBSITE (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=66476). It might ring a bell to you. It seems that SUN has more than one setup, one of them being with proxy's which is a totally different configuration than what you are trying. Also, you can try searching under the Tornado section for Network Configuration Cab. There is one posted by illi that has been claimed to work for many companies. Once you install that cab, then find Network Configuration Wizzard, somewhere in your phone LOL Sorry I don't have it installed on mine, so I can't tell you where it installs to; open the program, chose your Country and ISP and that should work too.
Best luck!

Who can i Change the language from English to spanish ??
NiTroGenious
19th May 2009, 11:21 AM
De nada, amigo mio. :)
To use more than 70 characters, disable the "Use Unicode when necessary" option at text message settings. But you won't be able to send any "special" characters not included in standard GSM character set. They will appear as ? (question marks) in the received message.
About the spanish language... First of all you should add the spanish t9 software. That's easy! But then you should extract all the spanish language files from Microsoft's WM6.0 emulator, sign them with SDK certificate, copy them to mobile phones's internal memory and make the necessary registry changes to enable the spanish language. Both spanish t9 and language rip guide can be found at Mel's Place: http://melgurth.ovh.org/
I know, localizing a ROM is not easy, especially for a newbie, but that's the way it is done. Well.. that's the easy way. Imagine if you don't have the spanish language files. You should translate all english files yourself using a resource editor!

Hey - still anyone interested in this "old" stuff?
Based on Nitrogens kitchen (status before SP1 though) I have created a ROM that squeezes the bits at every place to push the free storage memory to the limits.
So including .NET CF 3.5 (GAC_ parts have to reside on the SD card - like you would install it on SD - keeping the on-device parts already in ROM) and several basics (including SDHC support in ROM, updated versions of the included tools and catch up to SP1 where possible) the total storage is now 27.97MB, 25.4 of it free for own use after first boot.

Hi,
Yep, I'm interested ;)
This ROM is very good and works well.
Do you have a link for your ROM ?
Link in your signature link to this thread
Thanks

I am still playing to get all in what I want (I am at 99%). In fact I would not want to release a ready ROM I had to support, but instead an updated kitchen set with the gimmicks added and tweaks applied.
Everyone could then continue where I left off - as I do not plan to cook any further after the ROM does what I want. I will then start an own thread pointing to the Nitrogen Kitchen thread (with additional advise on space saving) - as I did not re-invent the wheel here.
This weekend if you are lucky :-)

Great news, tobbbie. I could never imagine that anyone would achieve a total of 25MB initial free space. Well done!!!! :D
I still believe that WM6 is faster and more stable than WM6.1/6.5, without offering anything less. I'm looking forward to your ROM/kitchen, even though I may never use it, 'cause I've a Kaiser now. ;)
Thanks for keeping this phone alive, tobbbie! :)

Hi Nitrogenious,
...well as you can see from my signature, I have actually returned to my Tornado after several attempts to get something small on WinMo Standard that can support SDHC.
- the BenQ E72 was really tempting but my blog tells the history of discoveries and my final disappointment
- the VOX is great, I still love it - just too heavy for my taste.
- the LG KS20 is rather buggy imho, also the KisS ROMs are not as stable as I require a ROM to be - and its touchscreen, I just can't get used to smear my screen or pull out the stylus.
I have not believed my eyes dropping back to the Tornado forum some time back that SDHC was there suddenly!
All the many hours of testing alternatives to the Tornado now finally prove to be done as an exercise to get back the Tornado. And now I can even cook my own ROM - even better! Finally worth to focus on things that I think to be important but could not find elsewhere yet.
I want to still clean up things and ensure that the created ROM (at least the default version that I use) is stable in daily use before releasing the updated kitchen so that anyone can create his ROM as liked.
Thanks for your kitchen!
bye

just look at my last post - there is a kitchen, a ready-to-use ROM and tools + instructions how to unlock + flash.
If you are in a hurry - why not let the Tornado stay at WM5 or at the WM6 pack that is on it? If you just need a phone and not all the tweaking - why bother flashing?

I was just worried about the stability of the current rom that is on here. I flashed the phone after I switched providers and only did it for fun. I'm worried about the stability of it and don't want my step-son being SOoL if it goes wonky. Thank you though.
