Hi, since coming from the Treo 700wx I don't miss too many things but I do miss not being able to continue streaming bluetooth stereo(WMP music) from the Mogul to my Motorola S9's with the device off i.e. just pushing power button once. My only option seems to be blanking the screen in WMP but that really doesn't lock the device from input. Is there any option to do this without enabling keyguard/locking? Maybe the HTC devices or the Mogul in particular just handle this differently than the Treo(among many other differences)? Thanks in advance.

I just got the Motorola S805's. I wish WMP had that feature built in. A program I've used before, that I can't seem to find on my computer, is http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&osId=993&jid=AA1171AA6XEX572DFE6E64BE6X17415A&platformId=2&N=4294913805%2095837&R=51696&productId=51696
This program worked perfect for the display issue!!

I have the S805's also (great headphones) and stream with SiriusWM5 which uses WMP. It's quite annoying to have the display on while streaming. I am not sure if TCPMP also has this behavior.

I just installed TCPMP and tried opening up an MP3 and putting the device in standby and audio pauses.
Man this blows.. even in Windows CE media players gave you the option to blank the screen to save battery life. With all the advances in software you would think this would be trivial.

yeah i just installed the trial version of PocketMusic. When I had it before I didn't have BT headphones. But I've tried just about all the settings I can think of, and all the results pause the music at some point. at this point though, I really don't mind locking up the phone with WMP. but it is annoying cause it's having to hit several buttons vs 1
if i were able to get PocketMusic to work with the display auto shutoff that locks all the buttons, i would only need to hit the power button to access it again.

TCPMP works for this...You have to go into Options -> Settings -> Hotkeys -> goto the 2nd to last option & set the "screen on/off" to what ever button you like...Now when you are playing music just hit that button & it will kill the display.
On a side note...Anyone able to get SiriusWM5 to work w/ TCPMP on the new WM 6.1?...I keep getting an error saying "Player: Audio codec (windows media audio) not supported by the player!"

I stand corrected. Using my old method of using device lock that blanks screen while using bluetooth, when I would fast forward WMP wouldn't light up like b4. Now i just switched to the included headphones and when I put it in standy by it shuts off. I might try that link i posted above.

can someone make this into a cab?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ Preferences]
"UnattendedPlayback"=dword:1
"FastCacheReserve"=dword:00800000
"LocalCacheReserve"=dword:00800000

Here you go:
Use at your own risk. I installed it on a TytnII and it didn't work. The registry entries were installed properly but WMP stopped playing when I put it in standby.
Since I know how to edit my own registry and don't need a cab it's not worth my time to further test. If it's useful to you then great!
Anyway.. here is the cab you requested:

awesome reg settings!! fixed the issue for me. Tried pocket music and like the EQ functions but will probably stick with WMP now that it will play in standby. Thanks!! Once again this forum comes through for the Mogul cult!!!

These settings did not work for me, the WMP stops and the device powers down. How did you get it to work?
I ended up using armstrom's Devicelock v1.2, a very clean solution to turn off the display and lock the buttons with one button press.

I assume this isn't phone specific? Ive always wanted to be able to shut the screen down to conserve power but still listen to audio

Not sure, maybe dcd version or verizon related? My DCD 2.1 works great in standby with WMP streaming over a2dp with those reg edits.

Try the HTC Audio Manager version1.02.919.713 and the program allows the phone to sleep while still playing without any changes. It also uses about half of the ram that wmp uses when the program playing with the library loaded up.

I can only find UnattendedPlayback in the registry. I can't find FastCacheReserve or LocalCacheReserve. Any ideas? Should I just change the UnattendedPlayback to 1 and not worry about the rest? Thanks

That's what I used on my Apache (before it fell off my motorcycle on the freeway :o ). The HTC Audio Manager works great with the screen on or off.
