Well, ignoring the fact that the iPhone doesn't have TouchFLO, the reason the touch interfaces are so different when compared is that, in the case of the iPhone, the operating system and *the hardware* were developed together in order to achieve Apple's aims of a slick, touch-driven interface.

TouchFLO, on the other hand, is an interface slapped on top of an operating system which wasn't designed with it in mind, written to run on a variety of differently capable hardware.

One of the major issues is the driver problem listed in the sticky above. It affect all areas of graphics performance, including the interface. Second, TouchFlo sits over Windows Mobile which at times is not the quickest OS out there.

There are registry hacks (see the Tweaks thread in the Polaris upgrade forum) that help with TouchFlo sensitivity (how hard you have to press), and scrolling. They apparently do help somewhat.

thanks for your answers guys. I noticed on clips that the iphone is much neater to navigate around, nevertheless I wouldn't change my TC for an iphone

Improve a little the sensibility of your touch screen by doing this:

1 open reg editing software
2 navigate to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings
3. in HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings find DWORD fingerpressure...
4. enter in to edit mode then either double or quadruple your oem setting which is 3760
5. !!!!!!!!!*******DO NOT decrease the OEM value only increase IT WILL ACTUALLY TAKE MORE PRESSURE********!!!!!!!!
6. soft reset and enjoy a reduced pressure and better sensible display!!

also figure out this could lessen normal wear and tear(scratching of protectors/PDA screens) since lesser pressure is
applied to Tap the screen

here's what you have to do:

Using a registry editor go to..

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Drivers\TouchPanel

then find DWORD PressureThreshold'

Change the value of PressureThreshold.(PLEASE ONLY INCREASE the value ONLY!!!)
Try doubling the default value 'til you get a desire setting

ATTENTION: PLEASE ONLY INCREASE THE DEFAULT VALUE
