The seems to be alot of people here that have devoted ALOT of time to making our Titans the products we always hoped our carriers promised. It is amazing to me that with all their massive infrastructures, engineers & support staff they just can't seem to keep pace with DCD, no2chem...the list goes on.

I am avid computer gaming and graphics enthusiast, home theater, XBOX hacker...building my own systems and am learning the ropes here on my Moguls (3 in the family). I have not gotten to the point of building my own custom ROM's for my specific needs..yet.

I just wanted to say thanks for spending the time making these units a better device for all of us. I can only imagine the hours it must take everyone involved. I love the fact that there are others out there still that say "F*** That!" when we are given crappy software by manufacturers and have the dedication to do what they seemingly cannot!

So Thanks!

DCD has done so much hard work in making the ROMs. I think I will contribute by writing a full Titan flashing 101. This is getting rediculous. No offense meant to the above poster, but there must be several people on every page of every titan ROM thread with that exact same problem. I'll try to write one up this weekend and I hope you might consider distributing it with your ROMs if you like it DCD?

I'm not the biggest nub but I was just lost. I went step by step when 1.6 came out but for some reason, I didn't remember flashing the rom AGAIN before installing another version. Thanks for not singling me out but I think it would be a great idea. I'll keep a copy of it on all my comps lol

Thanks for all the hard work DCD. SO should i upgrade from 2.2.0 yet or should i still wait. I havnt been having any prblems with this build whatsoever. Stable as hell. Small memory leak from htc home but that is to be expected.

It is amazing to me that with all their massive infrastructures, engineers & support staff they just can't seem to keep pace with DCD, no2chem...the list goes on.

The problem is, they can't keep pace with the suits who decide for whatever inane reasons to delete (or have the manufacturers delete) functions that are inherent when the phones are designed and built. HTC makes the Titans with GPS, MMS, and who knows what other features... your carrier decides they don't want them, so they have HTC remove or disable them. Then they tell their support people that "it's just not possible" - what can the poor fools do when they're given half-assed information?

I just wanted to say thanks for spending the time making these units a better device for all of us. I can only imagine the hours it must take everyone involved. take the time to read and do their homework, they just uploading then have issues.

DCD, I know it has been asked so I apologize. But, if you can find it in your heart to post a version with the stock dialer. I think several of us prefer the original. If not, no big deal. And thank you again for all of your hard work, as well as all others that have contributed.

You know, I have been looking around (honestly) for a way to go about getting the stock dialer, and I have only been coming across some skins that are pretty much the same as the HTC dialer. Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction and I will definately give it a try.

I just tried it, and it works like a charm. For those asking for the stock dialer it can be found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070

thank you... so did you modify ms_boot.rgu or remove it altogether?
i was a little stumped as to how this file works in the first place, with no hv
will make changes now... you rock thanks again

edit: after further testing (and dumping your 5044 xip) it appears that you left boot_ms.rgu untouched? so my interpretation here is that we do want to load msencflt onto all partitions, just ignore the policy? i noticed that in 5044, the encrypt option can be selected and stays (did not test if its actually encrypting)- in my latest test i had removed ms_boot.rgu and the problems are fixed, but if you turn on encryption and exit and reopen, its not still selected.

im rebuilding now with ms_boot.rgu in and the entrypoint removed from OS rgu, hoping to match what you've got in 5044...am i interpreting your directions correctly? TIA
im also wondering what effects these modifications to mencflt have on the domain integration function..it doesnt matter much to me but i would be willing to bet we have broken managed encryption policy...

side note, you could still say mine is based on no2chem's, since he's done ALL the work finding and fixing bugs. but i did finally rebuild the xip from scratch myself.

right - you are interpreting my directions correctly. I haven't tried the domain enroll function but I would assume the encryption enforcement is broken at the moment.

It's on the ftp at ppcgeeks....

ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/ImCoKeMaN/roms/

It's labeled vzw_2.09_RUU_signed.rar

Remember if you're downgrading from one of the custom ROM's with the 3.27 radio you'll need to relock your SPL in order do downgrade to this.

another question on the xip, i cannot fit wince.nls in without changing romhdr, so i didnt even include the WinCENLS_WWE dsm. i noticed yours didnt have the .nls but does have the .dsm for WinCENLS_WWE. do you know what effect this package has in the end?

To any users of gmail for outgoing email from pocket outlook:

Ever get this error at seemingly random times?

"The message(s) could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that our account information is correct. Then try sending again."

I'd tried lots of fixes posted on the net but nothing seemed to fix it for too long, and it's occurred on all the roms/radios I've tried from vzw stock to each of dcd's up to 2.2.2. I've been using 2.2.3 for 2 days now, have sent lots of emails through gmail with pocket outlook, but the error hasn't occurred once!

-I don't check "requires SSL"

YES,
All those settings are the same. I don't check "requires SSL for either incoming or Outgoing" I forgot to mention that a soft reset (press the little button) would fix the sending issue. I just sent myself another test Email, and it worked this time.

I have had other weird problems, most requiring a soft reset.
Worst problem is when the phone is locked, and then it rings, you cannot answer the call. Pushing the phone button will stop the ring tone, but will not connect the call. Soft reset, and it will work.

I understand the rom is a work in progress, so I don't sweat it much. The ppc6800 just sucks in general, way too many things it should do better, Video, Bluetooth, etc. I just keep holding out, hoping the brilliant minds on here will make it better than HTC has/can do.

To be fair, the phone has been improved quite a bit, due to this community, and geeks, but I can't remember the last thing I bought that was so poorly designed right out of the box. If there was another phone, with the same capibilities, from a DIFFERENT manufacturer, I would trade in the Mogul in a minute.

I was getting this same message not on GMail but on email from my own domain. Changing settings didn't work for me at all.

I ended up recreating the account from scratch, then it worked and has worked ever since. Try deleting the account and recreating once maybe...

Is anyone still having the phone drops from EV to 1X problem? I think I have come up with a solution: Perform an RTN reset and reprovision your phone. RTN reset is a hard reset that also clears out all provisioning data. Note, in order to do this, you need to know your MSL and MSID (for sprint, I'm not sure what you need for other carriers) or you will need to call your carrier and ask them to walk you through reprogramming your phone. Also note, this is a hard reset, so backup data first.

1.) Go to dialer and type in ##786#
2.) Go to menu->reset and confirm the reset
Once reset is done, call carrier and have them walk you through reprogramming then skip to step 7, or if you know MSL and MSID continue to step 3.
3.) Go to dialer and type ##[Your six digit MSL]#
4.) Tap edit
5.) Enter in you MDN (your 10 digit phone number) and your MSID (sometimes your phone number but not always; need from sprint)
6.) Go to menu->done and phone will reset
7.) Make phone calls to make sure it is working.
8.) Run IOTA and make sure data is working

unfortunately, i think this would require you run WM6.0, as the text messaging is very integrated and cant be easily just swapped out. if you absolutely require individual text messages, i would recommend you go back to dcd 1.6.10, which is more stable anyway.

Right. The only way to enable GPS is by using radio 3.27.00, which has some known issues. Therefore, I have designated this the experimental series, and 1.6.x/old radio the stability series...

the 2.0.0 rom was released with GPS, but with wm6.0. it is still around somewhere and you could use it i suppose.

Wouldn't there be a threaded software out there that I could install and tell it to leave my messages separated? My Cell serves has a pager too and all messages coming from our system 0000000000 are all grouped.. not practical at all.

If not, I will have to go with 2.0.0 it's a shame though since I went to bed at 2am yesterday after finally getting everything to work! LOL

well, 2.0.0 will at least be an easy flash, then
i dont think the threaded feature is really configurable. i know its not what you want to hear, but i think your best solution to this would be to receive system messages in email rather than SMS, if thats at all possible.

I've looked through the prepit batch file and it appears to pull the os.nb and some other nb file I can't remember off the top of my head. It then puts it in to the xip format I belive or in a XIP folder. Still trying to learn all this. In the end it leaves a base input.nbh file for the kitchen. What I want to do is be able to make my own custom ROM's like you do. Being able to pull drivers from other PDA's and such. I think that's where the XIP folder comes in. It's hard trying to make sense out of it all. You make it look easy though. ;)

Sorry for the noob question but what is the advantage of using dogguys kitchen? Does this allow any prog to be placed in rom to free up memory? Anxiously awaiting your next build DCD, however not looking forward to installing all of my programs again. This is usually a very long process. Would it be safe to restore a backup created under your 2.1 rom using sprite backup or would this "unfix" the things issues you have corrected with the new rom?

Well i found something interesting with my lockup issue. This might have been brought up before but i could not find it doing a search.

If i put any links in \Windows\Start Menu that point to my Storage Card then the phone will lock up. If the icons reside in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs then everything is fine. I suppose this has to do with showing them in the "frequently used" portion of the menu. Anyone else see this?

From what I understand it doesn't free up program memory, just storage. I'm not sure if there is a performance gain from putting the programs into the ROM versus installing them to the storgae card. The only avantage I can see installing programs to the SC is you can uninstall them. Programs built into the ROM cannot be uninstalled. I was hoping perhaps DCD or someone could help me see if there is an avantage building programs into the ROM.

it ties back to the original issue that has now been fixed, wait for update today..

Thanks again bro....

ps - I just wanna take your mellon for an hour and use it to make my own custom ROM, then give it back to ya, that would be ok.... lol

The advantage for me is if I have to hard reset all of the programs I use on a constant basis are right there. No need to reinstall. You can also build your ROM with all of your settings so that you don't have to configure the device again. Saves a ton of time. :)

Typically a restore of a back up is a bad idea after a ROM change. Registraition changes that have been made will be undone by the restore.

well, 2.0.0 will at least be an easy flash, then
i dont think the threaded feature is really configurable. i know its not what you want to hear, but i think your best solution to this would be to receive system messages in email rather than SMS, if thats at all possible.

Well I'll start receiving email on my cell when the charges for WEB in Canada are cheaper :P For now I'll stick to sms.

But thank you for your quick responses. This is and it's rom are great!!!

$30 gets you unlimited Web, MMS, SMS, TeleNav, 99 cent downloads from the music store, and unlimited Sprint TV..... oh wait I forgot Sprint blocks TV and MMS on our Mogul.... but they have no problem charging us the $30 for the Pro Pack so we can get Push *chuckles*

i started a new thread for 2.2.6...
as for games, since i dont include them, i removed their stuff from initflashfiles.dat so theres no empty games folder created. this needs to be in its own initflashfiles.txt in the entertainment folder in SYS. if everyone is satisfied with 2.2.6, a kitchen will follow, and will have this setup for you.

I am having the exact same problem, and it is MADDENING. Any time someone calls me, I hit the green button or the Answer softkey. It stops ringing, but does not pick up. They eventually go to voicemail and I have to call them back. I am using the DCD ROM 2.3.1 and the new Radio. I am running SPB Pocket Plus and SPB Pocket Diary, but it happens no matter what application is running. Any advice would be appreciated.
