Looks great!!!
Initial (under 5 mins of usage!) findings -
- IE homepage logo missing (no big deal!) & Use high resolution still missing
- Free Memory dropped to 11megs with no programs running...will restart and post back....hoping there isnt a memory leak!
Otherwise, its the quickest rom yet! Browsing through menus, settings is really fast!
SNAPVUE.....wow!! This is soooo sweet, love it so much!!!!
Thanks a lot mwang!!!! and DFT for all your great work!
Cheers,

Free ram is too low at startup ~14 mb... that's bad
I think it's because the ROM is 128Mb RAM ready. Let me check the memory page pool & patch it to 4Mb or 5.2Mb to see if I can get 25Mb +++ RAM at startup. (reference: mamaich's 128Mb RAM & mo3ulla's 128Mb vanilla ROM threads).

I guess you're right! I remember trying one of the 128MB ram compatible roms and had really low free ram....Its starts at 20megs free after a softreset....
And gradually drops to 10-11, and towards the end it choked up and had to soft reset....do let us know once you make this rom 64Meg friendly catch-22! Thanks, take care...

Too bad I dont have an universal anymore :(
Nice to hear from one of the PPC guru's!
It's very unfortunate for us Universal owners that you don't have a Uni anymore, but we're proud of your contributions not only to Uni but for all other PPC's as well!
Gosh, $ 90,000 saved for HTC Polaris? :D Must be a "killer" device!

I tried looking around for a how-to on changing pagepool to 5megs...but couldnt find it...can someone point me to the post which shows how? I can change the rom and upload it for others....

I'm stuck with some work at the office & can't confirm yet. Can you or somebody else check page pool setting & modify it to 4Mb to confirm? Follow Mo3ulla's Procedure (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1737548&postcount=31) or search for mamaich's original thread in changing mem page pool. Thank's.

Dear Catch-22
It would be nice to post your first ROM with reduced page pool. We will be all waiting for it.
At present I am using the latest 6.1 PDAVIET ROM. It runs fast, it has flash disk and the camera issue is taken care too. Unfortunately, some people instead of being grateful, they always are jealous. Jealously is one of the worst vice!
The good folks at PDAVIET don't post their ROMs on this forum. Some kind folks who visit the PDAVIET forum do post these ROMs to help the others out. Instead of being grateful, some people become critical. I saw that you and some others stuck up for the PDAVIET ROM. This kind act shows your decency!

Hello my friend KOR, I can't cook, I only eat! There's no need to release a new ROM, it's just decoding the nk.nbf, changing the mem page pool, re-encoding & re-flash.
Btw, you are my inspiration on decency & integrity.

To those who likes to do it themselves (based on mo3ulla's method)
1. download htc64 extrom tool (you may find it in hypercore kithen)
2. decrypt rom with this tool ( you will need nk.nba file )
3. open nk.nba file in hex editor (winhex for example )
4. find this
002334F0: 9B 4F FF FF 64 B0 00 00 │ 64 00 00 00 18 FC 57 90
00233500: FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 │ 90 83 55 90 7C D8 55 90
change this to
002334F0: 9B 4F FF FF 64 B0 00 00 │ 64 00 00 00 18 FC 57 90
00233500: 00 00 52 00 00 00 00 00 │ 90 83 55 90 7C D8 55 90
In this case, it's changed to 5.2mb

San, mwang's ROM has 128Mb RAM support & PP is zero (FF FF FF FF). It will fly in 128Mb but crawl in a 64Mb Uni & as you observed it has low mem since no PP = no swapping (... mamaich's post in his 128Mb patched ROM).

Yup, there's that irritating device pause. I thought it was the weather updating but, I found out that it happened after restoring PIM via ActiveSync or PIM backup-restore set. Before the PIM restore, everything is a "snap".
Temporarily deleted all the appointments & recurring events & now, it's working fast once again. I wonder what's with the PIM appointments that's causing the 4-5 sec pause? Anyone?
By the way, do you still have the 4-5 sec delay with SnapVUE disabled as today plugin? It works alright with me with SnapVUE disabled! But, SnapVUE is so cool & I'm just not ready to give it up yet!

What about "Snapvue" in portrait orientation? I see just halt of Snapvue end calendar.
SnapVUE seems to be designed for VGA devices normally use in laptop/landscape mode like the Athena, Universal & Shift. I'm afraid it won't look good in portrait mode even if it's possible.
I see it this way: most of the wonderful today plugins are designed for portrait mode & QVGA devices, now we have a today plugin that won't look good in QVGA or portrait mode but otherwise looks great in our VGA Uni devices. :p

Hi,
Just my 2 cents,
1. After dissable the performance/uncheck the enable cpu dynamic freq... and dissable the snapvue today plug-in, the freeze never happens to me again (after 2 hour test). since mine is a G3 device, overclocking won't do anything good for my devices.
2. SMS works like a charm. no problem here.
3. Able to get 24~25 Mb RAM after reboot with messages, calendar, task, date today, SPB phone, Ptravelalarm, Agenda today plug-in on. By using Memmaid, deleted the STK start up items & uneeded item in the today plug-in.
4. Wonder why the camera is still the old build not the latest 225... something but nevermind as long as it works fine.
5. A2dp Bluetooth working smoothly with my i-tech clip.
6. My 4G SDHC works fine without applying any fix patches. So far never dissapeared yet :D
Thats all folk. Hopefully somone, somewhere, sometime the video call may work properly in the Universal :D

Hey dudes,
Guess I have a theory as to why SnapVue's causing the intermittent freezing. Since it was designed as a front display for other devices such as shift/laptop sideview etc., I guess its designed in such a way to refresh its cache at certain intervals. So, when it starts reading all appointments/mailboxes to refresh its internal cache it causes a temporary lockup....
So, i'm guessing there's no fix to this unless the developers who made snapvue change the code to do it in a better or intelligent manner :-/
hmm....nothing good comes easy :(

A theory!?! I already said and test it.
Probably I haven't been clear enough:
Uncheck snapvue (removing it from today) and you'll have the fastest ROM ever :)
I don't care much about snapvue, HTC home will do the same work without any freezing ;)

The problem is, I reallllllyyyyyy love SnapVue!!! :D
On a side note, have any of you guys checked out the wm6.1 rom for the HTC Hermes???? Its bloody awesome and much more cooler than our roms :(
The call history has 4 cool tabs - thumb friendly - below for missed calls, received calls etc. The phone application is changed, apart from looking great, it has a lot of improvements. some of them are -
- When you get an incoming call, you the soft key options are "Silence" "Send SMS" (choosing send sms will disconnect and open a new sms to the incoming number)
- When u get a call from a new number which does not exist in your contacts list, it asks you if you want to save the number through a notification
- The bottom panel has 3 thumb friendly buttons again for call history, call up, and something else that i dont remember when the keypad is HIDDEN!
The contacts app has been modded to have an alphabet strip on the right side which you can scrub to scroll to an alphabet (just like pocketCM)
And lastly, it has a great new HTC home plugin with vista like glass effects!
Makes me feel bloody deprived when I use my friend's TyTn (hermes)...
Are we going to see those on our unis????

Looks great!!!
Initial (under 5 mins of usage!) findings -
- IE homepage logo missing (no big deal!) & Use high resolution still missing
- Free Memory dropped to 11megs with no programs running...will restart and post back....hoping there isnt a memory leak!
Otherwise, its the quickest rom yet! Browsing through menus, settings is really fast!
SNAPVUE.....wow!! This is soooo sweet, love it so much!!!!
Thanks a lot mwang!!!! and DFT for all your great work!
Cheers,
San
Does the lack of "Use High Resolution" in IE mean that it's not using hi-res mode by default? I think this would be a show-stopper for me. Is this problem common to all v6.1 ROMs?

But it works with internal, flash and exROM.

I apologize for keeping posting this over and over. If the camera application build on this ROM is 21424 or earlier, it will be unable to save pictures or videos to any SD/SDHC card which is presently showing more than 2GB of free space.
To solve this problem, camera builds 22844 or newer should be installed instead (just copy file camera.exe over the existing one on \Windows). This build is available for many months now. It seems that build 25255 (or something like that) has already been released. Why developers keep using the old camera bulds?

If it renders websites like v6.0 does without the "Use High Resolution" option checked, then it is a show-stopper. I haven't got a VGA device to browse the web in, what is effectively, QVGA. :(
Is this because the version of IE in the ROM has been taken from a QVGA device, rather than a device that has a VGA screen?

Strange things are afoot with memory usage in this ROM.
Program memory (under settings -> system ->memory) shows 54mb total ram
On a 64mb device like mine, this figure is normally between 50 and 48mb, depending on the pagepool size set in the ROM.
Normal pagepool sizes are usually between "0x40" and "0x60". This value is multiplied by "0x40" to give the real size of the pagepool (e.g. a typical pagepool of 5.2mb == 0x52*0x40 == 0x1480 == 5248kbytes). In a normal 64mb ROM the pagepool is represented as
e.g. "52 00" in hex.
On investigating the pagepool size, on Darkforce's ROM, I find it set to
"FF FF".
Using 0xFF in above calculation gives a pagepool of 0x3FC0 == 16320kbyes.
This is definitely not the size of pagepool reported by the memory control panel, as it claims 54mb of available RAM, not the expected ~38mbytes that a 16mb pagepool would leave available. At the same time, the memory usage is extremely high, there is only 17mb of "free" ram after booting the device, and very soon afterwards it's down to about 6mb.
Going out on a limb, I think the "FF FF" pagepool setting may be a special case that causes RAM to be allocated in a different way (dynamic pagepool perhaps?).
Setting the pagepool in this ROM to an orthodox value, like "52 00", returns memory usage to the usual pattern - ~50mb available, of which 27-ish free on cold boot.
Anyone got any solid info on what the strange new "FF FF" pagepool setting is all about?
Or have I already stumbled across its meaning?

Its a mix to be honest....it seems like they have unified IE to work on both qvga and vga devices. It does do quite a good job of rendering with smaller font sizes, but the layout of the page rendered is somewhat different when compared to our older high res versions....
So, like i said, its just done a little differently in the way in which things are presented/rendered, which probably needs a little getting used to! Best thing is to give it a shot yourself! :)
Its not all that bad....i can tell you that! I guess everyone of us here want our vga resolution being made use of, especially when browsing!

Hey TOAS! (expands to thing on a spring ;o)))
You really made things extremely lucid! I really wanted a clear explanation as to how the pagepool hex settings worked!
Of course, its clear now with a bunch of new questions.... :)
If i remember right, I think this was the way to make the OS try and access the extra ram (128megs) which otherwise doesnt work. Looks more like a bodge to make 128megs working....
looking out for some real explanation! :)
What page pool setting are you using?

Hi TOAS, I can only refer you to an excerpt from mamaich's post at HTC Universal Memory Upgrade (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1660662&postcount=141):
Features:
- 128 Mb RAM support
- Page pool is completely turned off (size is set to 0xFFFFFFFF), so no modules are ever paged out. This still leaves lots of free RAM and gives a good speed increase. Of cause you'll get almost no free RAM on 64-mb devices ;-)
Therefore, for those with the standard 64Mb Uni (like me!), activating page pool is still necessary! So, mamaich's, mwang's & mo3ulla's 128Mb ready ROM's had the pp set to FF FF to allow access to the full 128Mb available RAM.

Carlos
Hi Carlos, I can understand the disappointment. We all wish for a perfect ROM in the form of new apps releases & consolidated fix & patches every time a new build is published. Unfortunately, imo & afaik the Athena Project (AP) team is more successful in this regard.
To comment on your question & use of the word "developers", just would like share my thoughts. IMO, mamaich, mwang-DFT & helmi_c among others are ROM builders or ROM porters to which their builds are the foundation for the good ROM cooks to enhance, refine & optimize. They (ROM builders) may not be aware of the numerous fix & patches or the recent apps releases or they may not have the 'time' & energy to integrate those in their new ROM builds, hence the old releases.
With this mwang-DFT WM6.1 build as base/foundation new versions with customized, enhanced, incorporated new updated apps, optimized WM6.1 ROM versions should follow.
We all look forward to those don't we? Cheers! :)

Okay, time to throw my 2 cents worth in the pot... Other than the above this ROM seems reasonably snappy and stable. Just can't get around the inclusion of Snapvue, it locks the device as stated before, for 4 to 5 seconds every minute! I haven't tried to make a phone call with the phone yet and I hope it doesn't affect the phone functionality. I tried to listen to music on the way to work this morning and snapvue kept locking the phone up every minute or so, man it's the most annoying thing I have experienced in a while! As soon as I can I'm going to pull this puppy apart and remove this unfinished and totally buggy piece of bloatware and get back to my nice normal HTC home screen! ;)

I already have a version of DFT running on a 64mb Uni (5.2mb pagepool) with the "Storage Settings" drivers that support SDHC and SD without the card disconnecting.
Likewise I've fixed wifi-wpa (a certificate problem that's been around for a while now).
The problem I still have is the same one I've been wrestling with for quite some time - OneNote syncing. No matter what I do and no matter what ROM I base mine on, I cannot get notes to sync.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Missing certificate or DLL?
Onenote shows up as a syncable object, but at an early stage of activesync, it jsut dissappears off the list. No error is displayed, it just removes itself from the list.

Hey dudes,
Guess I have a theory as to why SnapVue's causing the intermittent freezing. Since it was designed as a front display for other devices such as shift/laptop sideview etc., I guess its designed in such a way to refresh its cache at certain intervals. So, when it starts reading all appointments/mailboxes to refresh its internal cache it causes a temporary lockup....
So, i'm guessing there's no fix to this unless the developers who made snapvue change the code to do it in a better or intelligent manner :-/
hmm....nothing good comes easy :(
San
Yes, the freeze every minute problem is really not so nice :`)
So if anyone has a good idea .... please tell.
Without SnapVue the ROM works realy fine ... I tryed about 5 different ROM versions today, this is the only one, I can work with.
Working IE, A2DP, WMP and seems to be fast.

Can't tell you for Spain... I'm in Canada and have used both 15 and 18 successfully. I think I get slightly better reception with 18 (although that's just perception) But I also had a couple of missed and dropped calls with it. Might have been coincidental but 15 has given me no problems at all.

@WizP
you could try copying this file into your windows dir. I don't know if it'll let you overwrite, but give it a go.
Hi All,
Just letting you know that, after copying the wzcsvc.dll, included in post #119 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1891845&postcount=119) above, to my \Windows directory on this ROM, and resetting my Exec, my wifi connections tab has simply disappeared, rendering my device's wifi service completely useless.
What has effectively brought it back to life, and what's even better, included the WPA-TKIP bug fix, has been the old WiFiService.cab (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Universal/WM6/mamiware/WiFiService.CAB) file, posted by our great friend mamiware last year. All credits and praises should go to him.
Just my 2 cents...

Hey everyone,
thanks for this ROM, i have installed it but the problems i have are:
1) After flasing the ROM, i get the trying to customize screen after setting the date etc..it then freezes on "\Storage\cusTSK.exe does not exist"..am just wondering what is this file supposed to be and am i supposed to have it for this ROM?
2) Also i am having the same problem with regards to not being able to set up a new email account.
Other than that, its a fast and so far stable rom..oh yeah, am i able to get the weather prompt with the snapvue today plugin?

Well I removed snapvue last night and reflashed and it really makes a world of difference... The ROM is much faster, easier to use and it doesn't drain the battery as fast. :D I lost FlashDisk though, - don't use it, use extended ROM instead - doesn't bother me much. ;) I'm evaluating this version and I'll probably keep it for a while. Don't use the Camera or wifi so neither of these issues affect me...
I think SnapVue was the one really big bug which affected this ROM in that it rendered the ROM virtually unusable IMHO.

I was using that one for several days and was very happy with it. I read on that thread however that it is a) a hybrid wm6/6.1 and b) (more importantly) it expires in 30 days! That's the only reason I switched to this one. Apart from SnapVue causing problems (too bad!) it has been very stable and fast for me. There is the disappearing/low memory problem, but I found that with the one in your link too.
I'm looking forward to a great 6.1 ROM cooked by one of the resident XDA wizards...

I think this has been covered in other threads (and I'm too lazy to look them up :)) but it sounds like you have an extended ROM from another ROM going. This ROM doesn't do a customization by default (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

You need to do a hard reset, the type that brings up the following options:
enable kitl=no
clean reg hive=yes.
format storage=yes
Last 2 options must be set to yes for you to get rid of the stuff from the previous rom.

To remove SnapVue you'll have to remove the HTCDlg.exe program from the ROM as well as all the images and dependancies using Anchillus's Kitchen... ;)The only problem is that when you recode the ROM you will lose the FlashDisk, working on that problem now... :)
SnapVue runs a lot of processes in the background to update it's calendar status, e-mails, SMS's and weather. It does this even if you unselect the today plugin!

Ok been running this for a day or two now. So now for me to express my opinion of what the niggles are...
1. Restoring messages from PIM Backup is v temperamental, even after 4 tries, still not all restored. (this is a general 6.1 issue with PIM so not this ROM specific)
2. I have found it is slow to activate from standby, so end up turning it off again as ive pressed it to many times. (a battle of 4/5 tries sometimes lol)
3. Snapvue does not freeze my system as people are saying it does, but i do have a permanent: 1/1 From: (null) in the message panel. No matter what i do it will not go!
4. Occasionaly freezes up on me and needs to be restarted. (but i am running it at 624mhz)
and the good things:
1. camera, so far so good. no crashing.
2. No infinite vibrating crash on incoming call (so far).
3. No crashing during message composing (screen brightness turns to 100%, all services end, errors appear all over the place, messages cannot be sent or recieved, restart needed to correct)
these were my 3 biggest problems on all the ROMs ive tested (WM5 and WM6)
device is fast. when no programs running, 20mb free on a 64mb device! (thats 10mb more than ive ever had free on WM6.0!)
Snapvue could be better, (especially portrait view) but thats negligible.
A2DP i havent tried, but i will be.
So far, so good!

The other way is to reflash the ROM with an empty extended rom file as well. There are a few ROMs out there with empty extended rom files included. I like to keep an empty extrom on my PC to include with any flash I do that doesn't come with an extrom.... just makes things clean and only adds 30 seconds to the process.

This rom i too buggy for me right now:
BUGS:
- unstable after first seconds after restart, I'm using pocket plus, and other spb plugins, after 15-25 seconds after screen load you do the wrong click and hangup ready
- wifi wpa dont work, you must apply wifiwav1.1.cab patch to make it work
- bluetooth A2DP don't work, after applying some patches and registry hack's it will work, but at very short distance (about 30 cm from device!) I recommend to use Widcomm bluetooth stack , then A2DP backs to normal
-sprite backup, spb backup, pim backup - those all don't work correctly
- when you will set up weather in spanvue it will first thing showing up on today screen, and it will cover rest od snapvue plugin
Some nice things from this rom:
-very fast, you have pleasure from using it, of course before hang up
- bt devices with standard "0000" code connects automaticly

Steve, Did you clean up your \Windows\Startup dir? Compared to other ROM builds with the Extended ROM already unlocked, the unlocker installs a startup file under that directory & removing it screws up the Extended ROM! Happened to me twice before!

ok guys, downloaded that rom 2 days ago, installed it on my 9000 and here are my first impressions:
- the look is just amazing (nothing else to say)
- the SnapVue, works only great when the screen is in landscape, problem is, if an applicaton starts, the screen gets back to portrait, or after a soft reset, so u have to set your screen again to landscape orientation.
- for some reason, if you want to open programs, it takes ages, till u can actually click on a program to start (programs screen opens, but u are not able to start a program right away, u have to wait 5-6 secondsm, till the screen gets ready to "be touched")
- BT Handsfree (sony) wont work always, sometime it does, sometimes not.
strange problems, with wireless. when i try to enabme wirelsee trough commManager, my Universal crashes, and its almost very hard to start the device. took me last time about 20 minutes !!!
- Programm Memory after Restart
TOTAL: 54.17 MB

Ok, sometimes I also have the problem, that playback stops after 2 or 3 secounds. The playback is still running than, but you will not hear anything.
In this case, I pause playback and turn off the Headset. Turn it back on .... reconnect (on my device I only have to press one button). Then play again and fine.
This problem is not dependent to this ROM. I have this for years now with every ROM I ever tried.
To workaround this probelm, you should ever turn bluetooth on on your Universal at first. After some secounds you should turn on your headset and connect ....not vice versa.

First does it dupport sdhc cards and if yes the 8gb too?
Second does it have a2dp profile and if yes can i really use it?
These are my questions.
As I see it, the answer is YES for both questions. I have a Kingston Class 4 8GB SDHC card inserted in its slot all the time, without any problems, and my Lubix NC1 bluetooth stereo headsets use to deliver at least 1 hour per day of stereo music (out of the box!) without interruptions at all. Heaven is not here, though, as these headsets also have the handsfree profile, but phone calls can't be properly routed to them by this ROM, and I've read on this thread that someone else has faced problems with stereo musico on other headsets (Philips branded, if I'm not mistaken).
Hope you have the same luck. :D

With Zoki A2DP cab finally I have non-skipping A2DP sound. Since I had to search for it, for all of you who have A2DP issues on this rom, I have enclosed it. With this mod, the rom is now PERFECT!!!!
Edit: not so perfect: after receiving one phonecall it stopped again and does not come back.. Can anybody else try this please?

Great ROM at first sight, however... I couldn't sync over bluetooth, because after pairing it only sees my PC as "Serial Port", so no Acivesync, no sync. Can anyone confirm that or give a sollution? Thanks.

Same problem here! My lappy's ActiveSync is set to sync with a BT serial port, but there's no attempt to contact it whenever I make my Exec look for available services there, like it use to do with many other ROMs.
Hey, mwang, perhaps either the AS profile here is faluty or it is not implemented at all..
Please, help us!
Cheers!

hey guys i was in a hurry and i was looking by the rom since i had a meeting so i didn get time to read the content and placed the rom on download and asked my sec to flash my fone with it :( . later wen i came back i noticed my fone cudn go furthur than the 1st boot screen. i reflashed it but it didn worked. later came to my knowledge that the 1st rom link is for 128mb n my fone is still 64mb(that too by reading too many posts down . if 64 mb was fixd u shud hav edited the 1st post of rom link) . :( :( :(
i have flashed it again n again later tried to flash it with 64mb compatible nbf file still stuck on 1st boot screen
the following steps shows exactly wat i hav done :
1. had wm6.1 pdaviet rom earlier n working
2. flashed it with wm6.1 of mwang (u cud hav been more clear n specific in your start post man n shud hav edited it later)
3.stuk on the 1st boot screen then
4.fone was undetected by active sync
5. went to bootloader n connected where atleast it became flashable
6. was flashing it with jwrights 2.12.06 rom
6.1 during installation pc crashed due to over heat wen radio was updating
6.2 latr after switchin back on wen i looked at my fones screen it gave msg sumthing like ( R = no gsm ..D=D.v1.t)
7. after step 6 wen i tried to reflash it was giving country code eror even with the shippd rom
8. did cid unlock with radio 0.0.0.0 but since i cant go furthur from 1st boot screen cudn run unlock exe from sd card that is one of the steps of unlocking after unlocking the radio version
9. then after unlocking radio i tried flashing the shippd rom with radio 1.09.00 n ROM Ver. = 1.30.76 WWE (WM5 rom)
10.then i notice i m still stuk at the 1st bootscreen after all this
11. tried jwrights all previous ram from 2.01 onwards n ivans roms n mamiachs roms n beast n laurentis roms but nothing seemd to work all the rom upgrade radio n wwe version(R & D) but "G" remains the same that is 42.42.p8. no matter which rom i flash it with(even flashed with the 64 mb version but m still stuk in the 1st screen)
12. problem still unsolved thou i m flashing it continously with roms. plllzzz help me out didn sleep entire night working on my fone n i still m working on it
** problem fixed by mtty utility ! cheking rom for bugs now n functionality--- no network wizard in it hmmmm thats a draw back thou that i have noticed till now.

This is an excellent ROM, however it has the following major issues:
1. Comm Manager is out of date (see JWright's Comm Manager)
2. Bluetooth Manager (when you select Bluetooth Settings) is out of date (again see JWright's)
3. For some reason SpbBackup cannot restore SMSes. Am still unsure if this is an OS or SpbBackup issue.
4. SnapVue is a dud and must be disabled for OS stability to be retained.
5. Cyberon VoiceDial (enough said!) as opposed to MS VoiceCommand 1.6 that really helps you read your SMSes aloud when you are in Bluetooth hands-free mode.
6. Windows Media Player Today-Plugin
7. Comm Manager System Tray Plugin
8. Landscape/Portrait Screen Display System Tray Plugin
9. Lack of HTC-X button
The major PROS for this ROM are:
1. Speed and Performance (I can never think of going back to WM5 now, despit the lack of Video Call)
2. No Bluetooth A2DP issues
3. No problems with SD cards

As I see Skype's problem might be the lack of memory on a 64MB Uni since this ROM starts with only 10 MB free RAM AFAIK. Or am I wrong?

No a 64MB Uni ROM starts with 24MB free RAM.
An older versions of Skype is completely unresponsive in the WM6.1 build.
The latest version of Skype fails to start up but at least makes an attempt to start.
Skype was always a very expensive app to run on the Universal. The most likelihood is that the current version of Skype is not compatible with WM6.1.

I've Ranju's latest ROM and Skype is running fine, altough its not loud enought.
I'm very interested in trying it out just for skype. I've got a 128mb Universal overclocked and running stable at 624mhz for weeks, and it opens skype like lightning, but then skype dies. The real discussion about skype and this rom shouldn't be concerned with whether or not the resources are too much for the Universal, since mine proves they aren't. I can't imagine why all other programs I try (and that's a lot) all run with no problem on this rom but skype flakes out. When you tried Ranju's rom, was the volume in skype audible enough to carry out a conversation and be heard on the other side?
On a side note, if anyone has the comm manager "cab" file for any current version of commmanager.exe please post a link for me. I've screwed mine all up by overwriting it with one that immediately closes after opening it. (The one in Mo3ulla's rar and my device are having an argument lately).

onicS;1908762']Weird, different from ur case, I just can't add any email account. Always back to inbox when create account was tap.
So I just can use Flexmail to download email.
Is there any part left behind, so I can't create email account?
Me too I couldn't add new email account only Hotmail and no other
Anybody got a solution for that without the need to add new apps.

Would like to know if anybody else has managed to make their Unis die with this ROM.
I have managed to kill the Uni, twice in a row, by:
1. Completely avoiding soft-resets
2. Constantly have an "intense" app running like WMP over Bluetooth Audio, as well as Voice Command installed and activated on the 10MB Flash Disk.
Running this over a period of two weeks ultimately causes apps to "not work" and even the OS freezing, forcing you to do a soft-reset.
Upon the reset, you do not even go past the bootstrap. The text that displays the ROM versions on the boot splash never gets displayed. Even after a hard-reset, you still get stuck at the same point.
You are left with no choice but to use the mtty util to do a task 28 55aa
It takes less than 2 weeks to kill your Uni.
