'free' mms possible?

For people with contracts that include data, are there open mms servers (not your operator's) that you can use to actually send messages to other phones? For example, see this thread: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=1164754

It seems to suggest that YourPhoneNumber@SomeAddressForYourOperator.suffix is set up as standard for receiving mms messages? If so, how do I find out what my SomeAddressForYourOperator.suffix is?
