New version here... (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551366)
I have uploaded the folders of the kitchen separately, because it's easier to maintain it.
If you seriously want to cook, you will need all folders
- I have finished the new kitchen. I'll just call it 0.3, since it is based on Dr. Gonzo's kitchen and Guava ROM kitchen (so a lot of credit goes to Dr. Martin Gonzo).
- It contains only the system part and some essential OEM-packages. Others can be downloaded here (http://ostiedbrosse.free.fr/Xda-Dev/OEM%20PACKAGES.rar).
- The kitchen also contains US-English and German, other languages can be added.
- Please check out the Wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=vox_cooking)first, there is an article about cooking, which still applies to this one!
- It does not contain any Radios, you can download the newest here! (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Smartphone/Vox/Radios/Radio%204.1.13.54_03.10.90.exe)
How to add languages:
1) Download the language you need from the ftp (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Smartphone/Vox/Vox%20Kitchen%200.3/languages)
There are Greek, Finnish, Hungarian, Dutch, Romanian and Portuguese.
2) Unzip the archive (they are self-extracting)!
3) You will find two folders: OEM and SYS. Copy the content of SYS to the SYS folder of the kitchen and the contents of OEM to the OEM folder of the kitchen. After adding the language you should run G'Reloc. Then, when you run BuildOS just select the right language, but only check one of the languages.
4) You can delete German language if you want. Just delete all folders with a 0407 in it in the SYS folder and language_german and OEM_Lang_0407 in the OEM folder. Do never delete English!!!
- Chinese is not working so far

Ohhh... lot's of thanks man! This is just what I was looking for...
Someone (I guess you or Dr Gonzo) could make a little how to on how to get a working kitchen from a shipped rom? I tried by myself twice and I always end up with BuildOS dropping an error...
Anyway, thanks a lot!

There seems to be a bug in Buildos (well I think it's one, but I haven't been able t get in contact with Bepe toi talk abot it)
Anyway the tricky part is that Buildos always want a special dsm file in OEM_LANG409 folder (not sure about the name of the folder)
Here is what you can try : take the dsm file in that folder from Frauthotelmann new kitchen and put it in yours.
But before that take the .dsm and .rgu and put them in a folder (any name you want) you will create in the OEM foler.
Thank you frauthottelmann for creating the thread on this new kitchen !

Hello,
I saw this great Rom Kitchen project and wanted to check it out. But when double click on the Build.bat on my Vista machine, i get the text based screen. When i select 1, 2, 3,... and press enter, nothing happens.
Is this supposed not to operate on vista machines?
Thanks, Olaf

Yeah we noticed that problem with Vista a couple of times before. Try right clicking and select "Execute as administrator" or so. Maybe then it works!

Hi!
There's a bug on the Splash Screen creation part. It's just the directory name.
The original Kitchen's folder name was:
2.Edit
This kitchen's folder name is:
2. Edit
You'll have to change the directory name and remove that blank space on folder name to make the splash screen work again.
Apart from that, the original windows.nb is missing, so you have to get it from the original rom file...
Everything else works fine for now!

Are these your own languages pack or the one I made for my rom ? because I havent' tested any of them right now.
If they are yours have you tested them ? And if so can I borrow them for my rom release ?

I already noticed the problem with the splash screen creator, took care of it. But I changed the *.bat!
Nope they are from your language kitchen, but if you took them from a 1.34 ROM they should work, I did the same for German and it works fine! I have to rupload all of them anyways, because I took the et9 files out and made a seperate folder for them!

Where is the spanish language?
Thanks

Well, it looks like we don't have a package for Spanish! Make one if you can find a Spanish ROM! :p

OK - maybe this is the same problem I have been having. Unfortunately, neither doing this nor moving the .dsm file makes any difference for me - Buildos just crashes straight away...any other ideas how to get this running?

Ok Frauhottelmann here is my "discovery" about languages pack. You know I had a lot of troubles making my french language packs (and probably others) to work. Well I've been able to if I replace the base rom used for reconstruction (the nb file in \ROM). For exemple if I use the ARA ROM instead of the latest htc 1.34 WWE French works perfectly!
So languages have to be somewhat supported by the base rom.
SO you'll probably have to make different .nb files available. Or maybe we can find a base rom that supports all languages ..
But using the ara as a baserom doesn't appear to be a perfect solution, because I've lost mms option in the messaging app for exemple.
So it really look like I'll have to wait for htc to fix their damned french rom update

Mh OK we'll have to find a ROM with as much languages in it as possible! How many are in the WWE version of the 1.34?
Dr. Martin Gonzo
7th February 2008, 11:28 AM
The languages I have left on my server + some others work although they are not in the rom : for exemple Czech works. I don't know if others do.
I suppose the problem resides in mxip_lang.vol..
Anyway I have WWE and Nordic versions of the 1.34 rom. I'm writing a little guide now and updating\testing a few languages pack. I hope I will be able to release them today if I have time.

Hm I uploaded a new Version uf the build.bat which seemed to fix the problem under Vista. You always have to use the bat to open builos, otherwise it will crash! Look on the ftp, I uploaded in parts, so you can just download the folders with bats!

Is it possible to build/cook any dumped ROM with this kitchen or is it just for New Guava?

It's trial and error, because you have to extract the ROM, but there are usually some rgu s missing. And you have to change the base ROM in the ROM folder to the new one.

Ok. My bad for not stating that I wanted to convert the Raw file. I ave got an Orange SPV E650 ROM and want to merge the 3 Raw files and delve inside and have a go at cooking the ROM, but need to get a full OS file not 3 part.raw files.

I downloaded again the "extract edit build"-archive but still the same problem. I hope i installed it right. i extracted everything into the folder "C:\vox kitchen" (added a pic of my folder).
Any idea what this could be?

I guess it really doesn't work under Vista. I have never tried. The other guy I changed the bat for said it worked for him, but I don't remember who it was!

1. can i upgrade to winmo6.5 straight away or does that jeopardise my warranty??would love to upgrade!. if yes how to go about it??my present config as displayed on phone is
wm 6.0 standard ce os 5.2.1236(build17741.0.2.1),
radio version4.1.13.38_02.84.90, rom version1.17.162.3
2. when i try to do windows update it doesnt and volume is pretty low???

4. the user guide that came in box was in german(i cant read german) hence downloaded an english version from net.phone is otherwise working fine-so is wi fi ,but want to tweak the same for better performance.
I would greatly appreciate if you help a novice like me to get going on this phone. Thanks a ton in advance.
Good day mate...Please post your question as a new thread. This is a little off-topic for this thread since they are dealing with a kitchen and not with phone specific issues.
