I believe he is talking here about the firware (Open Touch 3) in general.
To laurenk99: Please read the stickies, then the first few posts on how to flash, download from the link and install. All newbies start from there, then if you have a question, do a search, then another search, and only after 3 searches you can ask a question! Good luck. We all been there, done that, it is not too difficult. Thanks.

Try is...

/Start/Programs/TouchFlo/TFSettings

Choose View Mode: Top to Bottom
Click the ok button to save, do not reboot/soft reset yet.

No go to /Start/Programs/TouchFlo/Touchsettings

Click on the save button, since I've already preset the settings.

Now soft reset your device...

Once it comes back on, give it a second..

Then swipe your finger from the top Bar(in the midle of the top bar) to the bottom bar.

The first time the cube is activated it will react slow, once the names of the icons pop up you can swipe the screen and it will do the same for the other two screen. Once all screens have been activated it will move very fast.

Please give this a try and report back.

I tried Top-Bottom, Default 4.1, Center-Bottom, Bottom Only. They all worked ... BUT... Top-Bottom worked most of the time. Bottom does not. The other two are hit and missed. I usually get it after several wipe but dont' know which is the good wipe because the system takes about a second to activate it. I have small hand therefore must use two hand to do the Top-Bottom. Well, I don't use it that much because quick launch & picture dial came with HTC Home already. It is nice to know it is there. Thanks

Why is my battery draining really fast?

At about 10pm last night I had it at 100%, but when I woke up this morning about 7.30am, it was at 1%...matter of fact it was dead!

Are there functions I need to enable/disable to reduce battery drain.

Also, I have it overclocked to 247MHz right now.

Random access, it should be included, and if your not able to get it working with the steps provide.. I will have to rethink another way of wording it.

As for MMS, I dont use it at all, but will try and find a fix for it..

is there a way to enable scrolling only for the touchflo cube....the cube is cool and all but it seems sluggish and i think it would look 'cleaner' and run smoother if it just scrolled...also is there a way to enable the cube from bottom to top instead of vice versa?...sorry if this is posted sumwhere else...i havent been able to find it if it has...

But i have an issue with sms. When writing a new message the words wont appear on the screen :confused:..

or sometimes the words will appear than dissapear in the middle of me writing a message and the dictionary words also dont appear anymore :(

As far as problems go, For some reason my txt msg notifications dont work no more, it dont make noise nor vibrate when msg received. My ringtone always goes back to default "ring-WindowsMobile". I went into the settings to change it back, but never resolved anything.

hey cangri, curious if ur running biggy 3.0? i think maybe i notice biggy versions with this problem. i run slim 3.0 and do not run network wizard when i set up my freshly installed roms. instead i manually enter my proxy numbers. i do 5.99 hack only disadvantage i have found is htc weather will only update through wifi connection. my sms and mms seem to work pretty well though...

Going to a NEW ROM even if it is a newer version.... will make you to install all new....

Backups on PPC are not such good..... when you changed the rom...

and i think and feel the device is acting more stable when from time to time i make a hardreset and install only what i really need.

;) BTW - I´m really happy that people read, hard-spl and flash without yelling at others and also start helping after they themselfe got it working only a few hours before

I don't have mms working with OpenTouch 3.0 ROM either. I changed the proxy to 216.155.165.50:8080 for http. Some how when I click on send/receive on the MMS inbox menu, it tries to connect to Tmobile MMS (only visible in the Select Network button under advance tab). When I try sending, it looks like it got sent, but not really sent... mms then appears in the SENT box. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.

I promised my wife I would not spend any more of our money on toys since we recently had a kid last year.

So I had to do some side web designing jobs, but almost there.

I just tried sending an MMS msg with a photo taken in the lowest resolution on the phone to myself. It says it's sent but I didn't receive it. The MMS went into the Outbox and then into the Sent folder. When clicking on MMS inbox's send/receive menu , I get error synchronizing msg. Anyone else having this problem? or am I suppose to send the picture taken with the phone as SMS and not MMS? Thanks.

Have those of you that have MMS problems verified your Data connection settings are correct? Someone mentioned earlier that the setting had disappeared on one of the versions. Usually that's what I've seen on other ROMs when MMS didn't work.

The SIM hide option has been enable via the reg. Go go /Start/Programs/SIM Manager

There you can copy all of your contact back to the device.

This option was enable since a lot of folks like to sync their devices, this will help prevent double contacts on your system.

Here you go:

Disable Random Access and Enable Scrolling

With random access you must do the following to enable contact scrolling.

Click on the contacts button at the lower right hand side of the screen.
Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit

Now I know the following will sound strange but it will enable scrolling in the contact menu.

Repeat the following steps again, and the random acess bar on the right handside will go away and scrolling will work again.

Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit

If you want to enable random access, just go back and uncheck the "Show alphabetical index"

/Start/QuickMenu/Exit

It will prompt you with "Exit QuickMenu?

Choose yes and it will not startup again even after a reboot.

Is anyone else having problems using the 'cache to Storage Card' option in Live Search? I can check the tickbox, but the size of the cache just says 'none'. Tapping the cache size field shows 3 'nones'.

Commanager and x-button fix

Ok so i've tried something that seemed to have fixed the commManger issue always popping up randomly, and before i noticed that when u hit the X button it doesnt close any programs, only minimizes them.

I installed the CommManager_8button_wizard.cab (thanks to theformula on post #250) and by tap and holding on the battery icon next to the battery meter in the batterystatus plugin (today screen) and then select "task manager" and then "close programs on [X]". This will close the programs when u hit "X" AND it will prevent commManager from random pop ups.


I was just wondering if anyone tried this fix? haven't got any responses, I'm curious to know if it worked for others.

Btw no need to use the new CommManager, just the BatteryStatus setting was sufficient for me.

I've been trying to find a equalizer that will work with open touch-biggy and haven't found one that works yet. SRS-WOW-HD works but creates a very artificial sound that I don't care for. Anyone have better luck?

Random access addes the alphabet tab to the right hand side of the contact screen, it does not enable scrolling.

It's not there. When I enable the search tab in that box (says default, search, PocketCM) it says "the file RandomAccess.exe cannot be found.......not trusted....." etc. Again, thanks for the help. If anyone with v3.0 Biggy has scrolling contacts, please clue me in.

I think one of the uploads I did does not come with random access.

Sorry if this question is N00bish but here goes...

I installed a couple of programs and somewhere along the lines my start menu reverted back to the stock style which is basically useless =)

I can still access the nice list view start menu when I press the windows key but if I tap the task bar start I get the crappy one.

Is there a reg key or cab I can use to set it back to only using the list view start menu that came with the rom?

not shure what if i understood u but by that u mean the quick menu?
press ur windows key > quick menu> option> and check where it says "Replace system's start menu" and there u go. :cool:

Then I did it again. the second time i did it the box was already unchecked, so i clicked ok. it still doesn't show the scroller. i tried it all different ways.. going out of the contacts and then going back in. clicking then unclicking the alph index, nothing takes the letters on the right side away.. am i doing something wrong?

But when I've tried running various Sirius Radio apps I get an error that I need NetCF 3.5, which should come with the package. I'm told to download "netcf.core.ppc3.arm.cab." I searched the thread for edge and gprs, but didn't find any results. Is there something I need to do to enable edge? The "E" icon in the top right of my screen is now a "G" and it tells me I'm connected to GPRS not EDGE.

I'm sorry but I really don't know where to start since I have not heard of this issue. Please try and reflash back to the original tmobile rom and see if this issue continues. If it does then most likely there is something wrong with your device.

Why wait when you can use v3.0, its working fairly well for most folks.

version 4.0 is still in the works and might take a few more weeks.

this rom is more than great.my mms works good for me, my problem is when i delete sms and mms messages i could see that it is deleted but when i reset the phone the deleted messages re-appear also i have problem with caller id after a while it gets stuck on showing caller id to everyone no matter what settings i put it to, i reflash the and it was working normal but after a couple days it started doing the same thing. thanks again for the rom.

I haven't figured out touchflo yet when I scroll down I only get a contact mngr type box. but I haven't read on it yet so I am sure ill figure it out.

1) when i'm in CommManager, the first time I click on the wifi to turn it on, it thinks like its turning on, but it doesn't turn it on. however, the second time I click on it, the wifi does turn on.


2) sometimes when I click on batterystatus on my today screen, it pulls up the CommManager, sometimes it opens the batterystatus screen so I can adjust things, and sometimes it just switches my phone between 247mhz and 286mhz. I never know which is going to happen, it just happens randomly.

3) When my screen rotates between portrait and landscape, the X button sometimes sticks and overlaps with the 3 lined drop menu, don't know what its called exactly, but they both use the upper right corner. the problem usually fixes itself if I select anything else, and its nothing major, but just letting you know.

Let me try to answer your questions. I'm using OT 3.0 lit.

1) This is done on purpose by ttran, first click will initialize wifi then later clicks switch the wifi states on/off. Since not everybody uses wifi, this can give the users maximum program memory on a fresh soft start.

2) You must be clicking different areas of battery status today plugin. To my experience, if you click the center it brings up comm manager, click the cpu speed it switches from stock speed to overclocked speed, click the remaining battery amount switches from bold font to regular font. You can experience this a little more.

3) not sure what is the problem, since I use touchpal almost exclusively and never had to rotate the screen.

Isn't that a function on MS Voice Command? If that's not loaded I don't think you will hear the caller's name announced.

At the risk of sounding boring, could I mention the Livesearch/memory card problem again?

- Biggy 3.0 with windows Live/IM - the option to store the cache on the memory card doesn't work (3 "none" values in the cache size list).
- Biggy 3.0 02062008 with Livesearch reinstalled - same issue.
- Slimline v3 (no cube) with Livesearch installed - working perfectly.

Something is up with the Biggy versions, but obviously it's not a showstopper as I'm using Slimeline now. :)

This might sound crazy...

My wife messed up my computer with all of my roms and packages for cooking.

I've lost most of my work... I've spent about a week now rebuilding the original rom for this version and the next release.

Main point, I hope to have this issue fixed for the next release but can not promise anything at this point.

The main issue I would like to fix now is the MMS/SMS issue since some folks are having issues.. But the strange thing is a lot of others are not..

Installing these two cabs fixed the problem with MMS. I can send and receive MMS now. SMS always worked. Biggie 3.0 Windows Live version.

Main point, I hope to have this issue fixed for the next release but can not promise anything at this point.

The main issue I would like to fix now is the MMS/SMS issue since some folks are having issues.. But the strange thing is a lot of others are not..

You may be able to convince a cook not to remove it from their next release. Posting it would be against the rules (its a retail app if not included with the rom).

As for the voice command, I will most likely never include that app since it requires 4MB of space, I've gotten it down to 2.7MB but still too much space.

I think there is a cab file for it floating around, if not I will create one later on as time allows.

i'm not sure wat u mean..but my phone jumps to silent at random...i dont seem to kno the cause...i just notice that the ringer goes off whether or not i touch the volume...

Hi, i'm new to this forum, however i'm not new to pda's flashing etc. I have been searching through many posts/forums for an answer to my question and have yet to find it so i'll ask. The myFavs program (twirly circles), does that application get removed with these roms, and if so is there a cab I can install, or how would you edit your myFavs after installing one of these cooked roms?

Im not really sure about the first one since I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what your problem is. Please provide more detail if possible.

Please make sure that you setup your network wizard and connections accordingly. If your able to surf the net, then it should work without activesync.

As for the new screen: I actually don't like it too much. It's too candy coloured. I liked the nice clean and sleek view of your rom (that's why I was so happy after finding todaygenda and could ajdust the colours of it and it didn't spoil the view).

As for the problem with the three bar and OK button, I will try to post a screenshot later...btw, which screen capture program do you use?

Okay thanks for the feed back, this batterstatus version will be included in the next rom since it does not that up that much more memory than the standard one without the theme.

hey ttran, I watched the video. it plays really fast though. so if you want to see something you have to pause and play frame by frame. but definitely beneficial.

and as far as the new screen, it is ok I could use it but I think a cab is the best way to go if possible.

i have a wing and an mda, my activesync says it knows the difference between the two... well i guess not because my wife's contact and favorites just got overwritten on my phone. i thought if anything it would combine the two not completely erase mine and write over it. all my outlook contact and everything is gone.

I had that same problem and switching to this rom was the best move i ever made. It looks sharp and makes my wing run how its supposed to.

I would use separate Contact folders. I've done that when using a WM phone and a SE phone since they didn't like to play together. :)

Do not worry about Hard SPL until you are an advanced user. You are getting into too many things at once and you will end up confusing yourself. Get the ROM flashed using the instructions from the guide, then start looking into Hard SPL and other things. Just forget that guy posted anything.

i thought i was having the same prooblem with my mms as everyone else, but i noticed something.

i was able to receive but not send mms messages... it was because i was trying to send them from the text/multimedia folder where it gives you the option to select sms or mms.

it wouldn't send from there so i went over to mms folder and it worked fine...:D

Ppl, you have got to learn how to create different profiles for your Outlook. Ask Outlook to prompt for a profile to be used.

Vista
Control Panel->Mail->Show Profiles
Add another profile
Click the "Prompt for a profile to be used" radio button

What are the simple foolproof procedures? I keep looking around for the answers, but I am getting nowhere fast. There are way too many threads that have my head spinning and I don't want to mess anything up.

Question (maybe stupid) my storage memory is runnin real low '12mb' the only thing ive added was a couple emulators (Pnester and snes) ringtones and a bundle of lil themes/frames for the camera...why is it so low and what can i do to get the space back?

On the Omap in battery status did you check the box for "Overclock on wake up" and "Remember my last Cpu Speed"? Did you use cpu scaler?

Wow, I can't front on this one: Its actually the best "big" ROM I've tried ever. Much faster and more stable than the other two major Wm6.1 roms here. Good job, ttran.

im trying to figure out y everytime i go back to battery status to see if my speed is set to 273 it always says 69??? i have all the boxes checked. ill even adjust it from the home screen as i have it showing cpu speed.i can never get to stay at 273. what am i doing wrong???? what is the cpu scaler for? do i need to be using it?? thanks for the help

I love this rom. If I had any extra money, you'd have it ttran. I just have two questions/issues. On the stock T-Mobile rom, I made frequent use of the tray icons Lock and Music to lock the PDA and turn on the today screen music plugin. I'd greatly appreciate it if somebody could tell me how to get those icons back.

The second issue is permanently turning on showing contacts from the SIM card - I don't store contacts on the phone AT ALL, so I need to be able to see them on the SIM. I'm having to re-enable it via registry every time I soft reset the device. Is there any way to make it stick permanently?

BTW, I'm using the ZCink edition if it matters, and am seriously considering flashing to the Biggy (w/Windows Live).

prelude91sit , you don't need to use the CPU scaler. Simply go into BatteryStatus options, clock the "omap" tab, and check the following options:
Overclock to Speed
Overclock on Wakeup
Overclock on Reboot

Then from the drop down next to "Overclock to Speed" choose the speed you want and hit "Set", you should then get a confirmation box saying something like "speed set to xxxMHZ". Also, go to the General tab and make sure you've got it set to display the CPU speed. Once you check those options, click OK to exit.

If your device won't stick at 273 no matter what, it's possible batterystatus has a built-in check to keep you from damaging the pda by automatically underclocking if you set it too high. Try setting it to a lower speed first, like 234 or 247.

Cleartype is turned on by default. Start|Settings|System|Screen|Clear Type and turn it off.

ClearType supposedly makes text easier to read on LCDs, but all it does to me is blur it.

If by sharp you mean the way the words look (Look kinda blurry), try disabling Clear Type. I found with it on my words look blurry (Start>Settings>System>Screen).

It does solve the problem in terms of centering back the home screen, but creates a new one: when sliding the keyboard back in, the home screen readjusts vertically but a *scroll bar* temporarily appears, and when it disappears it leaves a cut-off that is clearly seen cutting off ~2mm of the screen (hence 1/2 of the "M" in AM is cut off when looking at the clock).

*Note*: This problem seems only to be occuring if you are sliding the keyboard back in when in the TODAY screen.
Solution: Slide the keyboard back in when NOT in the today screen. Example: You're viewing the calendar with the keyboard out (horizontal view) - you slide it back in, exit out of the calendar and the screen refreshes back to normal view.

When it happen to me, I touch the app launcher or fav people or profile. Then go back to the home screen and home screen will go back to center.

yea i got the mms to work, i just dled the 2 cab files on page 68 i think.. or it might be 65? i know its in the 60's. and i also did the reg edit to up the mms size limit from the standard 300k to 1200k. its seems be working, although i do notice when recieving mms's they take along time to go through. example.. some 1 sends me an mms at 1pm; i get it at about 2pm. ive even had an intance where i sent a mms at like 3pm and it went through at like 4am in the morn..

as for the home screen getting cut off, i also notice that, but i just put the screen in sleep, and bak and it re-adjusts. what i also did was dl the cab file to make the soft key text on the lower part of the screen disappear so that there is more screen.

here is the zip file. just dl it, upzip and than copy the exe file to ur ppc. if u put it on ur device or storage.. u will have to activate it every time u soft reset.. but if u put it in the device/windows/startup it will do it automatically..


p.s for the above post about the touchflo button, its in the device/windows/biotouch.exe

i used the soft key app in

start/setting/personal/soft key app and i changed the right soft key to (Bio touch.exe)
so when u press the right soft key, the cube comes up.

I'm not seeing this problem. I slid the keyboard out and then back in so fast the screen was still switching to landscape mode, and it was fine when it switched back to portrait.

I just sent myself an MMS from my Verizon phone and it came through fairly quick. Only problem was the picture didn't seem to be there.

I seem to have turned off the main theme, so now my music player is back to default and the start menu looks like the old one. Is there a way to reset the theme so that I can get the new start menu back as well as the skin for the windows media player?

how did u get the size limit to 1200k? i tried doing the reg hack but i dont see

i'm using 3.0 biggy with a 12mb pagepool. It actually works pretty quickly. There is definitely less memory, and it is certainly snappier. On a soft reset, there is more or less 21mb free RAM. It takes about .75 seconds to switch orientation to landscape, and .75 seconds back. I did install a couple programs, and i've replaced quickmenu with wktask. quickmenu DID seem to use less memory than wktask, but i prefer wktask (If anybody has information about the relative memory requirements of the two, i guess it would make sense) Anyway, my herald is set to 143-273 mhz with 287mhz boost.
