Extended Kitchen for Elf/Elfin

Elfin base: New Elfin 2.xx
OS base: VF Kaiser UK 3.08.161.0 (Build 19199)

Completely rebuild the XIP section based on:
- Kaiser: MSXIPKernel, MSXIPKernelLTK
- Elfin: OEMXIPKernel
adjusted boot.rgu by adding the 19199 related changes
OEM packages except of OEMDrivers are clean 19199 packages

Requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&DisplayLang=en)
Full XIP editing support
I've added a tool that removes the RGU's from the rom and moves all the DSM content to one DSM

Please read:
For the case that you are a cooking ROMs and getting donations for it, I would really appreciate a small donation,
cos I'm saving money for a new device. (I thing that would be fair :))

WORK IN PROGRESS

I would need some information and rom testers to create this Kitchen, cos I dont have this device (no device right now :()

First I would need to know if Elfin roms work on Elf?

That is good news....

The new 2.20.x.x Elfin ROMs work with both devices.

I asked swiftblade a while ago. It has something to do with the XIP.

it is the final 19199 build... I know it is confusing, cos there exists 19521, 19716, but this one is much newer (much faster, more stable, not beta)... don't ask my what MS is doing with this numbers, I've looked into all this builds and non of those is fake (only the 20000 build was fake, but that was not even AKU1 :D)

First I would need to know if Elfin roms work on Elf?

I am using an Elf (Wasabi 64/128), I have flashed 2.20 ROM (for Elfin) for sometimes. It did worked on my Elf with the result that Program Memory became bigger than what it should be and extended over Storage Memory (less Storage Memory).

It also consumed higher memory.

BTW, it did work.

+++

There is one thing that I cannot do, I cannot make an OS.nb smaller than 50MB. It cannot be flashed to my Elf.

Correct 50MB is the Limit which should give you a pretty nice Big Storage Anyhoos.

I am downloading your Build 19199 now and will try it out after work....

@Noonski... Welcome Back! The ELF forum was never the same without you..:)

What pool does it have 4Mb or 8Mb???. Lately to those who we have ELF have us forgotten because 8Mb of pool it is great for us that our machine has few RAM, and nobody can say to me like to change the pool to 4Mb.
Thank you

Ok, thanks for testing :)
There are no apps installed on this rom, cos I'm not releasing an Elf ROM without having an Elf.
I'm just making a Kitchen the other ROM cooks can use.
This Kitchen is just a "perfect" port of the new OS and to add the OEM apps is job of the cooks.

btw. is this wm 6.1?

yes, it is WM 6.1. Build 19199, forget about the other WM 6.1 builds... this one is the newest one, more stable, much faster, not beta.

19716 Is beta build and very slow
19521 Is a very old build... I've known this build for about 4 months
191xx Also old and some of them beta
19400 Also new... but no idea what exactly that is... it is somehow different from the other build

19199 Is the new build ported from a leaked HTC Kaiser rom, it seams to be something like final AKU 1; Try it, it's very fast

I have no idea were all this builds higher than 19199 come from, but all of them are real and not fake numbers. So I'm thinking MS is working with different teams on this builds. Build 195xx 197xx seam to have a newer kernel, 191xx have newer SYS stuff, 19199 is the perfect one with new kernel and SYS

Missing rgu files?

Yeah i was either going to use Swift's or Cloudyfa's rom's as i haven't found any other 6.1 base but they don't rebuild dsm so i had no rgu files (i like to get my hands dirty). I don't need them but i just like to see them were they belong.

If there's anyone less lazy then me at the moment that is getting the hang of this compact kitchen, do tell.

the file has been deleted by the uploader....

That was just a test rom; it worked, so I deleted it and released the working Kitchen
http://rapidshare.com/files/89460226/ELFIN_DEV_v2.1_Build_19199.rar

by adding a big file to get over the MB limit and building a rom you would create an identical rom to the test rom. But don't boreder with it, it was an empty rom without any apps. This kitchen was made for ROM cooks to create a ROM.

btw, it includes some new base rom, newer than the one ElfIn 2.00.xx (I'm at university right now, so I can not look it up), so it really is interesting to use the one cos of the new driver and kernel version

Very clean virgin Base.

I find it very it challenging kitchen/base.

I'm still going to be using 50-50% in conjunction with Hypercore.

But this is going to be like building the rom from the ground up, and i don't even need to take out the Cube.

And now i have to learn how to bring over the Needed/missing drivers for bluetooth and Wifi.

And maybe even learn how to make it 4 MB pagepool despite the wrong os.nb.

It's going to be fun.

What, you mean the wifi / BT aren't working? Shouldn't that be part of a kitchen in the first place?

Because i didn't have the required OEM folders prolly at work or i fucked up ;)

The kitchen comes without Full OEM folders for specific devices.

So not HTC Home or Cube or audio manager.

Anything Touch Specific you need to ad yourself.

Which i'm franticly working on right now.

Good one Bepe.

I tried re-extracting a rom i just made with your kitchen.

And it geve me a nice urprise.

Empty Package tool
and then a sys folder with a folder inside it.....

"BETA, make your own rom"

Very nice touch....

So any rom's cooked will not be recookable?

BEPEEEEH I love you.

Nice Kitchen really simple.

i'll keep working on making it Even more stripped then it already is and make it completly UC Compliant ;)

Bepe doesn't have a touch so there is no way he can test Drivers and OEM folders anyway.

So i'm creating a mesh from different ROM's

With Bepe's permission i can upload a complete Kitchen with drivers so Cooks can test and make it perfect.

I'm not sure What Bepe's intentions are.

My question at the moment will the Rom be extractable after cooking?

Or is this a feature that will stay in the kitchen?

For those of you interested, i'm uploading a Pro version Of Bepe's Kitchen.

It has All the needed OEM files and some extra Packages.

There's no Tutorial but the set up is straight forward.

Run 01 then it will not run BUILDOS in auto mode so you can select your packages.
Run 02 Select the os-new.nb from the temp folder as OS file and then save the RUU-Signed into the main kitchen folder (one levelaboce the temp folder)
Run 03 to flash.

Side note Windows Live Messenger is not working.
I tried different packages but i think it has to do with something i fucked up in the OEM folders.
I'd like to test some more OEM folders from Different 2.2 builds to see if it makes any difference.

This is Far From Finished.

But this way everyone can help out getting everything to work correctly in the ROM, as i'm still looking for the best combination of OEM Folders and drivers to use.

Cube Has Been removed will make package for it.
HTCHome set to 6 tabs and includes Tabbsettings at Setting>Home>HTCHome.
One Note has been removed will make package for it.
Also Added VOIP, Modem Link and Remote Desktop as extra's
Changed initflashfiles.dat.
Merged some PROVXML files.
Removed taskerservstart service.
And removed all StartUIp files into StartUpDisabled folder.

So far everything seems to be working Dandy Bepe, doesn't look like a beta.

How to i change the directory OS-new.NB get's copied to?

I would like to get it into a folder that doesn't get deleted/empied everytime you run the batch, so i can put HTCRT.EXE in there with it and the Files to Flash.

And if there's anyone out there that can test this on an ELFIN?

It works on ELF.

I used 7-Zip's 7z format as that was the only one i found to get the whole thing under 100MB.

45%..... Waiting 100% Done. I'll remove the Upload in 24 hours.

Hmmm a ROM *without* the useless (to me) cube ... I wonder how much RAM there is with stripping out all the HTC stuff.
I really hope you'll be able to provide a "kitchen" where one will be able to get rid of those things according to their liking - given bepe's ROM doesn't have all that it could be possible I guess.

You will be able to get rid of a lot of crap indeed.

But ll do some testing on a 4 MB PP version this week.

Sorry About that.

This Kitchen is still based on Bepe's new version so this extra install also aplies to it.

Thanks to Syrop i'll be making a new Kitchen soon based on the old HyperCore version with some Modifications and 4MB pagepool for ELF devices. .NBH stays Extracktable.

Anyone can Help by submitting Packages for it.

As for this Beta Thread.

Bepe, there's nothing Beta Baout it for the ELF.
Still no ELFIN confirms.

Yeah i think i encountered that one to and fixed the OS packages.

It didn't have an extra enter after the last line in a .RGU file.

It's easy to fix by Doind multiple runs of BUILDOS and finding which package it is then look for the folder in the sys folder and open the rgu file in that folder and add an extra blank line at the end.

Hi Noonski,

There is an issue with Taskmanager....

Where do we want to put the packages? I have a few I could add.

Yeah that's because i removed it but not the link in control panel.

Also fixed.

I think the attached package fixes that issue.

It goes into the SYS folder like any extra packages.

But you could also drop Packages into the OEM folder to.

BTW the attached package is for CU compliancy but somehow i broke Uatorun to run maybe someone can figure out what i did wrong, i've been to sick with huge headaches to figure out my mistakes.

Later on i'll add a seperate package for the new Taskmanager as selectable.

I may be the only one but...
At work my machine is set up to deafult to my developers sandbox. So running batch file in the Hypercore kitchen or Bepe's kitchens breaks.

A nice quick

does the trick...

ps. great work on the roms and kitchens guys... ima try mybest to contribute. :)

I'll check the Batch files

Do you mean change

echo.
CD ROM
..\TOOLS\buildxip.exe -b
if not "%errorlevel%"=="0" goto error
CD..

into

echo.
CD ROM
..\TOOLS\buildxip.exe -b
if not "%errorlevel%"=="0" goto error
cd %~dp0

And This line

cd %~dp0

if NOT "%ALL%"=="1" pause
goto :EOF

Right??

I have no clue what the Frick it means but hey it still seams to be cooking in my kitchen so i'll leave it in for next release.

TNX..

I'm just a cook that never wrote his oen Batch files, and till three months ago never even knew you could edit them in Note Pad even though i knew almost anything could be edited in NotePad.

yeah basically

cd %~dp0
change directory to the path of the currently running batch file - basically puts us into the right place before we try to do anything else. :)

Looking at your post again... just one at the top should do the trick... that way no matter where the files are the path will always be the path of the first executed batch :)

You should prob search harder - but http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335631
will tell you how to cook the rom and then flash it.

Basically you get a ruu_signed.nbh which you then use the elf RUU tools to flash.

Noonski
14-02-2008, 02:18 PM
This is not me being an A Hole.

But Both Kitchens say BETA.

Which means you sorta need to know what you are doing.

At a minimum that would be knowing about SPL HARDSPL SOFTSPL and flashing.

But the last Kitchen has everything you need to Flash an ELF.

Just start in Bootloader take out SD card then start RUU.

It's only OS anyway same as Elves 5.0
But Elves uses SoftSPL method as flash method. So you could just cupy the RUU_Signed.nbh to the Elves flash folder and give the RUU the same name the elves one is using.
(he's using a modified name for the .nbh)

Shit i gone and explained it anyway dammit.

Aaagh found the issue with CU Package.

It was mistake in a PROVXML file in OEMOPERATORS.
Remove the whole fricking PROXML File.

Remember: ProvXML files anywhere will overwrite any registry settings you put into RGU files.

Maaaaaaaan!

Why didnt i realise about PROVMXML - if i had explored a lil more i would have realised that these files were more than binary files...

These files are the master setup files for the OEMs to set the phone and software how they like!

Sheeesh - now i feel enlightened!

Allow me,

Can BuildOS.exe being modified to allow using Radio, apart from CheckBox?

If it worked the way Radio work, we can add multiple OEMs that will be used only one in that group.

Or yes this would also save some extra work?

I'll try the PM to the Real Main MAN later on.

Noonski
21-02-2008, 09:30 PM
Now this could be my own stupid fault.

But i have checked the RGU files in question.

And it seams that some values don't get taken over into rom from some specific rgu file.

I checked if they were ANSI or UNICODE but that doesn't seem to be the issue.

It's just weird.

33b68280-d8ed-11dc-95ff-0800200c9a66.rgu

Is ignored.

and

15502034-8f17-11dc-8314-0800200c9a66.rgu

isn't

Now i checkd othet packages and PROVXML files for double entries but couldn't find then.

Maybe it's just me but maybe someone has had the same issue using this new kitchen.

But i think i propably oversaw the values somewhere because even when i made PROVXML files out of the RGU ignored it still did not go over into rom.
Maybe i'm just lazy.
Maybe it doesn't like RGU files with 666 bytes ;)

guys i need help in using bepe's kitchen. i have downloaded that kitchen (couldnt download noonski's kitchen as the file is deleted by uploader) in bepe's kitchen the oem and sys and rom folders are already filled in, so where do i make a dump of my os.nb file that i have on my device currently. i was thinking that since mine is a shipped rom (recently bought this beauty ElfIn :)) i'll work on my rom and add or delete packages :) please guide me on how to go about on this one. should i simply delete bepe's oem, sys and rom folders, dump and package my rom through hypercore and build os? then how will i get wm6.1? or should i just replace bepe's .vm folder with mine and do g'reloc? please any help would be highly appreciated. thanks to all in advance

this beauty is already cid unlocked through pof's tools and my shipped rom is backed up too (i mean i have the final .nbh file which i can extract to get the nb files)

2. then how will i get wm6.1?

3. or should i just replace bepe's .vm folder in sys with mine and do g'reloc and then run buildos?

hi,
1\I think u shouldn't do it.but u should fill the oem by yourself, and build your rom.
2\the bepe's kitchen has the all wm6.1 .but the oem.
so I think u should use the bepe's kitchen .u can add some driver if u need.but the 'rom' u shouldn't delete it,because the XIP in it.and if u has the WWE rom,u can dump it by hypecore, and u can compare the WWE and Bepe's SYS and OEM.
Oh ,so ... I'm not american and my english is so poor.

no problems about ur english brother :) but ur answer and guidance is still unclear..

can someone explain in detail how to use bepe's kitchen? i wish to retain the basic look of touch, yet i want to have wm6.1. this is a simple request or a simple question. can anyone please guide me on this step by steps? atleast the basics. i dont wanna screw up my new baby here. or atleast if anyone can tell me whether wrongly created os.nb file can brick my phone? or i can still manage to flash the shipped rom back on it?

would a rom created in this kitchen retain the functioality of biotouch and touchflo as it is in touch xl?

Dudes... There's something really really wrong with this kitchen

Below is a complete info for Bepe and other experts. Correct me if I'm wrong

Procedure:

Dumped the shipped ROM into OS.nb through Hypercore
Extracted the OS.nb into dump through Hypercore
Packaged the dump into OEM & SYS folders through Hypercore
Copied everything except OEMVersion from dumped Hypercore to the Kitchen OEM folder (had to owerwrite some files though)
Left the Kitchen SYS & ROM folder as is (only added Windows Live, Autoupdate and IRDA folders from Hypercore to this Kitchen)
Executed the batch file. Everything completed without any errors
Created the RUU_Signed.nbh file through HTCrT and flashed to my device (completed without any errors)Problems (after device start):

Blue LED keeps blinking for no reason (Bluetooth is off, WiFi is off)
Commanager doesnt work (shows error "Error while reading commanager settings...")
Touchpad & Touch Keyboard is missing
Device Information is missing from settings
Cant run network wizard that came with the shipped ROMHope Bepe, Noonski or any expert replies to this and tells us what is going wrong. This is the reason why I am asking for a guidance in previous so many posts

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368588

Links in Post 2, 3, 4 & 5 have been rechecked.

Sorry about the wrong link in 3.

Yes the issues you are mentioning are part of trying to use XIP from other ROM dump.

WM6.1 has had some driver updates.

I pubmed into the same issues trying to either port Hypercore dump into bepe's kitchen and the other way round.

That's why i have added SYRXIP because if anyone gets that XIP (ELF ONLY) info into Bepe's kitchen we can start making 4 MB PP ELF roms with WM6.1 imagine the memory.

Sorry for the confusion and sorry i can't give anwser for your previous posts.

It's not that i gave up on Using different XIP it's just set to Lower Priority.

Was focusing on SPC rom first.

And the last two hours the uploaded Files are almost outdated.

Figure the same thing out as Cloudyfa propably.

WM5Torage 1.75 is better choice in WM6.1 it's working and added to SYS folders (not in the uploaded version have to test for a while)

Today Agenda is also back in the SYS folder Update.

Bepe ONly Posted the kitchen others had to Duckt tape the missing pieces back.

And my ROM looks to be the proof the wright missing pieces are in there.

Tools can be added Folders can be cleaned up or rearanged.

Just post suggestions or Files.

Touch Keyboard wasn't in there.
Luckily...

If it was in there i would have removed it with PAckage in sys folder but it's not there.

I never really missed that Memory Leaking *&^^ spell correcting interfering.
My opninion.
Touchpall does a much better job.

ok. but what about

Commanager doesnt work (shows error "Error while reading commanager settings...")
Touchpad & Touch Keyboard is missing
Device Information is missing from settingsi love using touchpad and touch keyboard and would prefer these over anything else anytime :) please guide me to a base wm6.1 kitchen (sys folder) and like i said i'll use the oem, rom, xip from my stock rom. it kind worked for Gene why cant it work for Touch XL? it possible right? and also someone guide me on which are the drivers in my sys folder to be copied to the base wm6.1 sys folder for getting the 3 items above

Clean Sys folder is in Bepe's original post.

http://rapidshare.com/files/89460226/ELFIN_DEV_v2.1_Build_19199.rar

I didn't copy over The OEM folders from another rom.

I compared all the RGU files and added all missing info from other ROM"S (muiltitude)
I also compared all the files in OEM And replaced some files and added a few.

OEM was really just a very empty OEM.

Device Information will be in Bepe's kitchen.

Which comm manager did you choose?
So i can recheck that package this way i don't need to check all three commmangers in the SYS folder.

Are you cooking in HyperCore or Bepe's?

If you delete Bepe's OEM folder and replace it with your own you will miss some new dll's and exe files and rgus files.

Lay the folders next to each other and merge RGU files by looking at the differences.

Replace your old exe files and dll's by the new ones etc etc.

Overwriting didn't work for me the first time.

But i have to leave now sorry.

Well the keyboard packages has been on FDA for 3 months now to start with the cooking class thread Post 5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1572777&postcount=5

Or different versions here.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533

Or here

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336587

Symbol Pad aah Yep your right i haven't had the time to repacke those files correctly but all you need is in the SYS folder SYMBOLPAD in the Sys folder i have uploaded. Just set the option.xml to true i think im got all registry keys in there.

Now hybernate..
Where was that again... dammit

Well i can't reacht it now but A patched version can be extracted from Cloudyfa's 2.0 rom. It all depends on how badly you want it.

But it takes 5 minutes and it will be inside a cloud_folder if i remember correctly.

I never made a packages for that because i'm lazy and use Quickmenu's hybernate function.

But you only need the exe file.

And then you can make the Package yourself i think most info is on the cooking class thread.

Bepe, you and your sweet kitchen rock
Noonski, you and your amazing beautiful packaged options are so cool  makes cooking a piece of cake
Cloudyfa  the man who showed me a way to use Kaiser SYS. Thanks brother

I managed to cook a WM6.1 ROM for my sweet ElfIn (128\256) Attached are the screenshots (need some tweaking and some corrections in a few apps though) I think I must have screwed up the theme files, will correct, no big deal (check the main screen) But the rest of core is working great

I used only the tools and ROM folder from your kitchen. Used SYS from Kaiser WM6.1 ROM and OEM from my shipped ROM. Added value advantage packages from Noonski's cooking classes. Added a few packages of my own. Finally I have only the standard keyboard and the Touch kayboards (just the way I wanted)

Going to now hunt for smart programs and add them in my ROM. Although now I am going to learn about the XIP thingy in Bepe's kitchen

I wish to use this space to thank everyone who have put up with my constant questions and gave me guidance all the way. You guys are the best assets of XDA

Bepe

Sometime later when I'm done with my perfectly personalised, I will surely post the steps I took so it will be easier for learners (like me :)) to understand

FINALLY I have managed to cook a successful WM6.1 ROM for my ElfIn with stuff that only I want. Now I will surely post my steps so its is easier for others to follow. Still thanks to above experts. just had 2 questions  -
1. how do i get rid of the in built block recognizer sip? i find it very stupid
2. how do i change the internal name of the rom? what is seen in the device information?

and for my information - what does the sqm folder do and what does catalogue folder do?

The error messages you got rang a bell when i was trying to remove ceipui fully from the system and SQM which isn't possible yet.

But it was a weird mistake i made.

I found the folder also in my own Sys folder it belonged in the Shel or OS folder but without the DSM file.

The weirdest part is that it had no effect on my own Cooks.
I also had the incorrect folder but the ROM worked.

So you actually helped find a bug in my SYS folder.

Pfew. I'll update the correct SYS folder in two days. So let's indeed hope someone reads all of this.

@everyone. Listing a few steps I took while cooking in this wonder kitchen

Copy the OEM folder from your ROM
Copy the ROM & SYS folders from Bepe's kitchen
Replace the "ceipui" folder from Bepe's SYS with your folder (from your ROM) (till noonski repairs the sys folder :))
Delete or add any packages that you like or dislike (dont proceed if you dont know what you are doing. I will not be responsible if you brick your device)
After adding / deleting your ingredients, run Buildnb .bat from Bepe's kitchen
Create RUU_Signed.nbh with HTCrT and flash and enjoy the new system :)

I'm not sure this thread is the place to ask.

But again i know which thread allready holds the anwser.

You put you Package in the sys folder.
Run buildos then delete any double files it finds in OEM folders or other sys folders.

Again the six tab HTC home can be found on many threads inculding class where this post belongs.

As to different languages.

It's no magic. Yes your method works but the best way is the hard way.
Replace 0409 files with yours and also change all Shortcuts to correct path and initflashfiles and rgu's hive files.

I never done it maybe because of not having the patience.

But the way i'm working on my own kitchen all the registry settings are getting more and more together so finding and changing them will be a lot easier.

But before i'm that far. You propably are of to getting to now the ROM inside out.

Which is good.

This thread is or better yet was in origin to see if the kitchen worked allright on ELF and ELFIN.

Which it does.

It needed to be sticky for that.

But Cooking issues just belong in the class thread.

Not just me but other "graduates" pop in on that one.

They don't always check each and every thread from a fellow cook.

At the moment it looks like most cooks have chosen to take some rest.

Which i think is a good thing, because most of them started to cook because quite simply there wasn't that much choice on Touch ROM's

All the information can be found in the threads.

If not try Anichullus Pro Core Kitchen in Wizard thread.

But most important just read them.

These questions have been asked and anwsered many times before.

User and default hives are in metadata folder in SYS

nope brother.. the hives are not seen in my sys\metadata folder.. if i check the folder size of metada it shows 838kb but opening it, it shoes only a dsm file (1kb) and some rgu file (3kb). my folder options are sent to show hidden & all files. dont know how do i see those two files. all i wanna do is try and change the settings right at begining which i normally do after cooking and flashing. hope you can help out in this. i am cooking on xp

Yes it's another thread but still shows reading is fun.

As no one reads them anyway.

Ghehehehe.

PKoper:
I'm going to start slowly right now.
First i will Merge Bepe's Kitchen with another 2.26 Base that i don't know where i got that allready has 6.1 files in it. It's either Hnubli's or Syrups.

Then i will check all RGU files in OEM folders and move each and every line that needs to be translated to any other language into the OEM_Lang_0409 folder.
Some goes for MUI files but these are allready in the correct folder.

Then i will take out all lines that need translation from user.hv and default.hv and also but these into the OEM_Lang rgu file. Once i have done this i will upload this folder and you can start replacing the MUI files and translate the RGU files.
I will add an option/xml file to the OEM_LANG folder so you need to get a new UID for the german version.

In the new lay out i'm going to place custom packages into the OEM folder as the SYS folder will eventually be packed with Many languages only SYS packages.

Let's start with OEM_LANG and see how long that takes.

Any one that wants to do another language is welcome.

Trust me this is going to work.

So i'm of to merge the needed files.

I am looking as well how to change lang :) I know sth about emu but it is not working ;| Can sbdy be such willing to write it again from scratch ?

Great Idea. What is your language?
And does it have an official ROM out with at least a 2.20 version?

If you download the Sys package in my Super Pro Core Kitchen.

You would find a package with

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings]
"EnableCube"=dword:0

to disable cube swipe.

Now uploading New HTC Home Plug in Package with almost all HHC customize options integrated as seperate packages.
And it also has an Italian language version along with it.

Just a very sneak preview at what's coming.

http://rapidshare.com/files/98034949/HTC_Home_Monster_0.9.7z

I just finished Moving all registry entries from All OEM folders to the OEM_Lang_0409 rgu.

So these are either registry settings that point to a folder that will need to me renamed for full language change, like "Opslagkaart\Mijn Documenten\Mijn Muziek"

Or registry setings that refer to a landuage id code like 0413 0410 etc.

And just registry settings that can me translated (but off course i might be wrong about some of them but we'll find out eventually after studying some official foreign roms)

I'm now cleaning the hives of the some type of registries (loads of double stuff in here also, so that will slightly increase performance in general)

Oke but that could be the normal welcome.exe suposed to be there.

So i gater no welcome.not in SD root . Do a search for Provxml files and see if there are doubles.

Els note them down and temporarily remove then, make new rom and see if that flashes oke then sart putting them back a few at atime anf lash and put back a few again etc.

In most cases a blank screen right after ploink... is related to that. But it can always be samthing else.

You can delete the whole fexplore* and do a find in registry for fexplore.exe and replace it with resco explorer binary.:) This method won't work for pimg.exe in case you also want to replace picture viewer with resco photo viewer.

Hi Bepe,

I also tried to figure out how to produce a flashable RUU_Signed.nbh from your kitchen.

After I clicked BuildNB.bat, there will be an OS-new.nb file inside temp folder. I use bPatch to make the size become 50MB then use htcrt to generate a RUU_Signed.nbh. I tried to flash it but always failed at 3%.

Kindly advise.

What i meant was that Some apps have a hardcoded Command like fexplore -folderdirectory. And not all File Explorers use same commands as Fexplore.

Renaming is a good test. And then open up Bluetooth explorer to see if it reacts. (i know Total Commander had issues getting into Bluetooth Folders)

@bepe.. i have tried my hand at extracting xip from kaiser official wm6.1 rom following this procedure

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1934603&postcount=390 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1934603&postcount=390)

below are the files from my custom cooked rom and kaiser rom for your review. can either of u please check the contents and let me know if this is right then it will be of great help to everyone. also for the .payload file, i used nbsplit on kaiser shipped rom with this command "nbsplit -kaiser os.nb" can i use this file for cooking wm6.1 roms for my elfin?

i am trying to port the new build (19209) to elfin, lets see how it works out to be. also included the link to download the xip (19209) from trinity

XIP Kaiser (http://rapidshare.com/files/105544492/XIP_Kaiser.rar.html)
XIP My Own (http://rapidshare.com/files/105544741/XIP_My_Own.rar.html)
XIP Trinity 19209 (http://rapidshare.com/files/105544909/XIP_Trinity_19209.rar.html)

Hey guys. I have successfully ported the XIP to 19209 build :D Attached is the screenshot. I'm now trying to port the SYS 19209 Build too. Will post the XIP and a base ROM based on this build. Thanks to Ervius who guided me on the XIP porting

VERY good news man!:D:D
You're really into it!;)
I have some questions too.
If we "replace" the XIP in bepe's kitchen with the new XIP then we'll have the new core (OS 5.2.19209),
but we're missing the os.nb.payload in order to have the new build(19209.1.0.2), right? And if that's the case, how to create os.nb.payload when there is no "nbsplit -elf os.nb" command?!
Or maybe I don't know what I am talking about:confused:
But I think the "tool" to help us all is sitting here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381307)!
Regards!

Has anyone changed the mxip_notify.vol?

http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk145/k0k0tas/mxip_notify.jpg

My aims are:
1.Disable "repllog.exe*AppRunAfterTimeChange" so that ActiveSync doesn't start in booting.
2.Disable "ceipui.exex$AppRunAtNetConnectr"
and "ceipui.exex.AppRunAfterSync"
so that ceipui and Microsoft's SQM application could be removed(partially) [An interesting link about this is here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=370683)].
Any help, hint, advice???

edit: About the 2nd one, after checking the above link, I think that the change needed to be done is like in this pic (http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk145/k0k0tas/modded_mxip_notifyjpeg.jpg).
Still looking for the 1st!

if you replace the new xip into bepe's kitchen, it will still as long the new xip is for elfin. if not then, you can port the new build to the existing 19199 build xip in the kitchen. now since i have successfuly done the xip porting and am using it nicely, will be posting a xip porting guide in the initial posts of my elfin thread. do keep posted there.. you dont need a new os.nb.payload file, the same file in bepe's kitchen works with the new xip build. alternatively you can dump the payload from 19209 kaiser rom with the romhdr.bin but the command is no -elfin, you will still need to use the -kaiser switch

by the way.. the tool u mentioned is the perfect tool from a rocking expert (ervius) which helped me a lot in porting and also helping me a loads in cooking roms for elfin

OS 5.2.19209 is the XIP and will work if the same is for Elfin (then you only need to replace the XIP folder in Bepe's kitchen)

but we're missing the os.nb.payload in order to have the new build(19209.1.0.2), right
in order to have a new build you need to port the SYS

Download: ELFIN_DEV_v2.1_Build_19199.rar (http://rapidshare.com/files/89460226/ELFIN_DEV_v2.1_Build_19199.rar)

any mirror other then rapidshare or magauploder. Like media fire. Rapid share never works for me. It always says that my computer is already downloading a file. Whear as i'm not doing so.

No it's not a base ROM that you can flash to your phone without cooking!
You'll have to add some essential missing stuff.
I guess that you didn't read this thread from its start. I think that you should do that before trying anything with your device!

So when I cook it then it will work on my Elf?
I want to start cooking WM6.1 for my device.
First of all what will I have when I cook it without adding anything? Will W-Fi, Bluettoth, GSM work properly?
I understand that I need to add some "essenitial" stuff. But what is not included and Required to use Elf with this rom properly? Keyboard, drivers [?!] etc?

Heh ... maybe my questions are stupid but please forgive me - I'm totally cooking newbie ;)

P.S. when flashing with this newly cooked rom - i need to use USPL SPL (USPL) v1 - CID Unlock & flash *ANY* rom to your device (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320155) - is this correct?

Welcome back!
1.Still haven't found the way to disable "repllog.exe*AppRunAfterTimeChange" so that ActiveSync doesn't start in booting.

Hey good one.

Was away didn't see that one.

Trying to Disable SQM broight me headaches and countless flashes trying to figure out how to disable. But Patching that specific file is something i would never would have known how to do that let alone know which file it would be.

But i was able to disable SQM, just not remove it.

Anyway, anyone can highlight the steps need to get Bluetooth and camera working on my Elf? Where to I get the removed packages that is required. Thanks again.

Releasing Thread From Stickies.

Placing a Newer Kitchen in stickies that has an Active ELF member keeping an eye on. We don't want to disctract Bepe from what he does best.

If interested in Cooking Try Kokotas Kitchen Based of Bepe's Beta Kitchen.
