Here is the upgrade procedure,.
1.format the sd CARD(should not be more than 2g) use FAT 16 and copy the al1.dio to your mini sd card.
(the mini sd card should not contain any other files except al1.dio)
2.Enter BootLoader menu (by pressing "Record button + Reset button")
3.wait for the percentage number to be 100% and then it will reboot automatic

because the xip space is not enough, so I have delete the first bootsplash screen,So if you soft-reset,then you would not see the first screen, Instand,you will see something else,:p you will know that time.
It's normal and just a moment it will pass to second bootsplash screen.

the only bug I know right now is if you soft-reset the device by pressing the Reset button,then your recent sms and phone record (not the ones exited long time age) may lose.
The best solution is that use software to soft-reset,in that way,you would not lose any sms or phone record.
and I find out that if the message box contain more than 100 sms,then press the Reset button to soft-reset device would not make your sms lost.

This rom is only an os part.It can not brick your phone. I have used this rom for a few days,I think it excellent.

Here is the upgrade procedure,.

yes,that was the Sp interface and right now none of the wm6.1 build for PPC have something like this,Mwang said that the new interface is not stable,So he remove it from his 5.2.19174 wm 6.1 ROM.Maybe we can see it in the future.

That 's easy,just download the offical rom,extract the flash.dio,rename it to al1.dio,then use HEX editor to open this file,remove the first 12 byes in the begining f the rom,then save and flash.This method I have tried so many times,you can flash back to every version you want!:D

Then I think maybe there's something wrong with your SD card or you didn't format it to fat 16.because when this message show *** Mini-SD Card DETECTED ***,then the upgrate progress will follow,I suggest you should get another mini sd card below 2G and try again!

It's not a bug,I have said that in the first post.because there is not enough space in XIP,so I need to delete the first boot screen files to implement the whole xip files from wm 6.1 ,so if you soft-reset,It will appear hang but in fact It's not.
BTW:I hope you can read the first post before flash your device.

I try and find out that the performance is better than wm6.0,so I strongly recommend you to try,the RAM available is about 26M,right now there is nothing wrong with my rom except the problem I metion in the first post.

I am sorry for bringing your guys inconvenience,I didn't test this rom completely,neither do I use this rom.The CHS rom I used have deleted all o2 softwares,So I have no chance to test it for you.I think the problem you guys facing is something related to compatibility of the software,cos I didn't change anything about the software in the original rom.and meanwhile you should realize that this's WM6.1 and pretty great changes have done to the system's files,that would cause some problems.
Sorry again and hope someone could stand out and pick up the cooking mission.

yes, i have same problem. My Atom is CHT version and flashed to WM6.1. So far better performance than WM6 but only some UI is Eng and some still is CHT.

The fact that Some UI is still CHT is due to your extend rom,If you want to change all UI into ENGLISH ,all you need to do is flash the english extend rom.

maybe this's a problem related to the compatible of 19199 rom,you should try newer version ,I found out that kaiser wm6.1 can use this software,the version is HTC Task Manager 2_0_30995_1.because I don't use this software,so neither do I know the solution,sorry!

a quick and sure way to enter bootloader for atom life is to completely switch off the device (Confirm this by the GoodBye screen on the device's screen)
then start the device while pressing both the RECORD + VOLUME(UP) keys...
and remember to format the SD card to FAT and only have the a1.dio file there

Sorry ,I never encounter "restarting on incoming call issue" ,and I think this issue is somehow relate to the power management,as you know,atom ife have a powerful CPU,and this may consume more power,So the driver of life need to make sure the stableness,So it may shut down your device to avoid causing any lost to you.It's nothing to do with the SYSTEM,cos this system is ported from kaiser offical rom.
So I suggest that you can change another battery and see if this problem still exist.or you should set your device to automatic mode when your battery is lower than 30%.

You like a clean ROM?Most of the rom I found out in XDA is not a clean ROM and integrate a lot of software ,So I assumed that your guys prefer integrated ROM.and make such an transformation is not a difficult task if you know how to cook a rom.you need to dump rom,delete some files and edit the registry.That's it.

Before i had used the official rom from O2 WM6_WWE_RC2140907B2 and now i already successfully upgrade WM6.1(build 5.2.19199), just feel the difference about the performance especially when you open the programs and try to scroll down to show the program icons, now i feel much better and faster response on my atom life, thanks qq108108108 for sharing rom

and lucky for me i don't like to use o2 mediaplus so i unpack the al1.DIO & ext rom to delete o2 mediaplus program and shorcut and all graphics components in the ext rom and rebuild the al1.dio & extrom then reflash again

I don't know quiet well, but I can tell you what I got.By comparing the NK.EXE in XIP, I found out that the 19716 is build at July 8,2007;and 19199 is builded at Jan 18,2008;and besides 19199 comes from the kaiser offical 3.08 rom,that means 19199 is the newer build and maybe It have fixed some bugs, and improved the performance.and I suspected that the 19716 has been HEXed and the true version is 19176.that's all I can tell.

I would like to say thank you to qq108108108 for this rom. The performance has notably improved. As expected when i did a soft reset using the stylus i lost all my sms. I restored my sms backup & performed a soft reset for the second time surprisingly all the sms were not lost.

That is correct.Someone have told me that if there is more than 10 SMS in the mail box,then no matter how you perform a soft reset,It will not lost your SMS ever again.

here is a patch for you to change the SMS to traditional mode,but it would disable the SMS incoming notification ,So you need to install a software named "SmileySMS" to solve this problem.

Here is the Remote Desktop,all you need to do is unRAR it and copy all files to windows folder and input the registry named a.reg,then try to run the program.I am not sure It can run,so just try it youself:)

Yep, O2 Plus does work at all and I think that the only usefull thing is EQ and SRS WOW.
So, I think that we have to remove O2 stuff apart from EQ.

In my case i don't have any problem running any apps. Except for the O2 Media player which & already removed, all the other apps I was using before are running normally when I installed back. Also very stable & faster.

I flashed back to original ROM because it is unstable for me. I found it is not compatible with cestar and monster chinese. I only install cestar, magic button and dictionary. But always hang and miss call. And also higher battery consumption.

cos I haven't try HSDPA yet, so I never come across your issuse,and there is nothing wrong with my web browering via wifi,and about downgrate,you need to get the flash.dio from the original upgrate packet,and use HEX editor to remove the 12 byes in the begining of the ROM,then rename it to al1.dio,and use the same method to flash.

Me too, I know that there is simple kitchen for removing all that unecesery software, but non of the coocking programs work with .NET 3.5, and there is no way i remove .NET 3.5. So i' m asking if some one of you have allready remove all O2 software(except radio) please link the ROM file to us.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one having this problem. I recently found out that I cannot capture any image from my camera. It just open up & can view the images but all the controls are not working. There is no way to close the apps bcoz the close (x) in the camera screen is not visible including other adjustments. Using the hardware camera button also doesn't work. The only option is to turn off using power button (sometimes it doesn't work) or soft reset.

I didn't use the camera since I upgrade to this ROM so I only found out today when I need to capture something. Is there any fix to this? I didn't found any problem with other apps including those I installed. The speed is excellent.

Actually，I have never encounter such a problem like you,neither do I know about what's wrong with your device.But I suggest that you should upgrate your extrom to latest version，I doubt that the image of camera program is missing,just make sure your extrom version is EX0917.and meanwhile you can hard-reset your device,see if your camera work after hard -reset,and check whether the program you install is not compatible with camera program.

I think you're right. Possibly one of my apps is incompatible w/ camera software. I read in another forum that some people who are using one of my installed sw are also complaining about camera problem. I will uninstall & give an update. For the meantime I installed another camera software & it's working fine.

the detail procedure is base on how much you know about cooking a rom,it's not easy to tell you how to do it if you know nothing about cooking.
in order to Free that much RAM,all you need to do is boot as least program as possible at the startup of WM,adjust the files system cache,adjust the PP size in XIP.

I am sorry for bringing your guys inconvenience,I didn't test this rom completely,neither do I use this rom.The CHS rom I used have deleted all o2 softwares,So I have no chance to test it for you.I think the problem you guys facing is something related to compatibility of the software,cos I didn't change anything about the software in the original rom.and meanwhile you should realize that this's WM6.1 and pretty great changes have done to the system's files,that would cause some problems.
Sorry again and hope someone could stand out and pick up the cooking mission.

the rest stuff is the same as offical rom(because I have not so much time to cook it, sorry!)

Here is the upgrade procedure,.
1.format the sd CARD(should not be more than 2g) use FAT 16 and copy the al1.dio to your mini sd card.
(the mini sd card should not contain any other files except al1.dio)
2.Enter BootLoader menu (by pressing "Record button + Reset button")
3.wait for the percentage number to be 100% and then it will reboot automatic

because the xip space is not enough, so I have delete the first bootsplash screen,So if you soft-reset,then you would not see the first screen, Instand,you will see something else,:p you will know that time.
It's normal and just a moment it will pass to second bootsplash screen.

the only bug I know right now is if you soft-reset the device by pressing the Reset button,then your recent sms and phone record (not the ones exited long time age) may lose.
The best solution is that use software to soft-reset,in that way,you would not lose any sms or phone record.
and I find out that if the message box contain more than 100 sms,then press the Reset button to soft-reset device would not make your sms lost.

Sorry for my poor english,and IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE upgrade procedure, JUST ASK BEFORE YOU USE IT!

Sometimes this thing is happening. You should try different combinations like releasing the reset button first then the record button. You can also turn off the phone first then hold the reset + record button and the power button.

i guest is ur memory card problem, coz no need to select the option. i suggest u change another memory card to try this again coz i got this problem same as u before. when u entered the bootloader, the program can detect and load ur memory card file to upgrade the rom.

if the .Net CF 3.5 is already included, shouldn't it support .Net CF 1 & 2 applications ?

I tried using F-Secure Mobile Antivirus and it did not work without installing .Net CF 2.

My Atom Life sure didn't like this!!!!

It flashed fine, but when I rebooted as instructed, the flash screen went all haywire and didn't do much of anything after that.

I'm flashing back to medkid's which although not perfect at least worked for me.

Is there an SD card link to the WWE_RC2170507B2 rom in case I want to revert?

That would be very helpful to keep on my Mini SD.

Just installed (5.2.19199 B 19199 V6.1.0.2) and everything is working great, love it!

For the record I'm using it on my Atom Life from Expansys UK, with an Orange UK sim card, with no issues at all.

If you disable the cache, your device might operate slower than before. The better solution is to suspend the device, then wake it up again and wait for a few seconds before soft reset.

Does everyone still have the issue with the clock needing to be reset after removing the battery?

I'm wondering if there is a way to add to the registry an ability to get the phone to draw the network time. It isn't presently an option but that would be a fix.

[Here is the upgrade procedure,.
1.format the sd CARD(should not be more than 2g) use FAT 16 and copy the al1.dio to your mini sd card.
(the mini sd card should not contain any other files except al1.dio)
2.Enter BootLoader menu (by pressing "Record button + Reset button")
3.wait for the percentage number to be 100% and then it will reboot automatic


Please, how is the "Record button".
