Guys u can decide which one is better shadows rom or the swiftblades rom......obviously both are amazing but which one would u rather have??

personally i like shadows jus cuz itz different....still wating for the pagepool to be 4mb....

PLZ people give feed back as to why u prefer which rom it would be appreciated

First off: both are great roms from great cooks (and let's not forget Bram's to-be-released Surface rom ;) ).

I tried both roms for about 24-48 hours, and I prefer Shadow 2... because:
- it's faster
- it has a cooler (newer?) dialer :p

I'm using a regular Elf by the way ;)

I'm using ShadoW v2.0 - just because I love the look of it. It's very fast and stable too. In the end though, they're all good ROM's and it just comes down to personal taste. I like the fact that we have a handful of great chef's here in this forum, so we get a choice of what we prefer - unlike MS, they just give us what they think we should have (tut, tut!) :)

i cant really sau which i like better, i prefer blue over shadow only because the pagepool size is bettter as in i more availble ram (elfin) for programs, also though i dont like it because of the lg menu, but i dont like shadow because of wktask, it really all depends on what you want

i am flashing alternately both rom...i think both r best...... and i want to combine both.....and make some superb...ELV-DOW rom.... my vote is fifty fifty.....both excellent

Im using shadow, plainly because it was the first 6.1 for elfin. Havent tried elves, but i dont like the darkishness of it, especially the today background, im liking the shadow background...
but tbh, thats not much reason, its just something small. Ill try elves at some point lol

I have checked both.

I liked both bot Elves had somewhat more speef to it.

But I'm running Shadow still at the moment becuase i like the HTCHome plug better, (didn't like taskmanager and start menu tho)

They both have some plusses ort minusses the other one doesn't have.

But Shadow gave me a M$ cust survey, eugh...

Both where still pretty close to home.

But Welcome Center?????....... Which Rom Flashing WM6 User needs that Touch Newbie Crap ;)

Hi,

I checked both plus PDAVIET.

I'm using PDAVIET right now. The remaining memory is the biggest with PDAVIET and I do not want to use HTC HOME, LG and most of the other beautiful but useless appz. And: it's really fast and stable.

I dont think u can say one rom is better than the other, its just a matter of preferences, the one likes a "cleaner" rom with only the essential stuff so he may choose shadows rom and an other person likes more a complete rom with more programs included and nicer skins and graphic options so he may choose elves... and so on. just my 2 cents.

User preferences will decide which ROM to use.

The vote should be written as

1. You prefer a clean ROM
2. You prefer a ROM with a lot of free utilities
3. Dont bother, as long as it is a new version ROM
4. Dont bother, as long as it is fast and no memory leak

For me, i would choose clean ROM. Free utilities has too many bucks and kind of unstable compared to PPC developers.

Hope i did not hurt anyone

Using Elves 5.0

Had Shadow 2.0 on for about a day... runs good but I had to soft reset several times which is not the case with Elves 5.0. Also I feel that Shadow 2.0 is a "bit" crowded with all the other shell enhancement proggies that is loaded into the ROM. Personal Preference I guess

One thing which is cool that I want is the dialer of the Shadow 2.0 ROM
I like the way that it puts the last frequently dialled number ontop of the list when using smart dial.. This was a feature that nearly every ROM I had for my wizard was built-in standard.. The standard Dialler of the touch, I find a bit lacking in this regard.

Congrats to both Cooks.. They are both really well done, but my vote goes to Elves 5.0

Well, be true, i've liked Blue Touch 2, Blue Touch 3, Blue Touch 4...but Elves 5 is disappointed me. I've decided to check Shadow2...almost outstading FW but one minus...its doesn't have Schaps Configuration Tool T_T (why Cloudyfa, why forgot about such useful tool? :) ) and psShutXP (again? O_o..Cloudyfa, im crying T_T )..and one more thing...where is 4MB PP version? O_o...im crying again.

And are you going to reset the counter after adding Bram's and Triny's rom.

I'm not really a great fan of this voting stuff.

I like Swiftblade's work, I think Bram has the best graphical designs (originals), Cloud keeps it simple, and triny's also doing a good job.

How can i really vote without stepping on anyone's toes?

I allready don't like having them as "competitors" as it is.

Yeah that's because Swift drops the Rapi and cert's into the OEM folder :p
Haven't found these bac (yet) in Cloud's rom.

And Swift is using bew flashing method which ias very One Two Three to use.

Hello everybody! I have also triend both roms for about 2 days each and now running on swadow's rom. I have to admit i encountered probs with both roms,some of them fixed with hard resseting...others fixed with re-flashing, some still exist.For instance Java is not working on my phone now...I don't really use it that much but it still is an issue(propably will be fixed by re-flashing but i'm bored now:P) Anyways i believe that shadow's is a cleaner rom, faster but i think the battery indicator is a bit out of tune as my battery yesterday was about 6 hours stuck at 3%. I really like the phone pad and the theme and i also like the comm mngr.For those who say about extra utilities and other stuff in the roms...Guys come on, the forum is filled with those progs...Just download and install, they don't have to be built-in making the roms 2 million megabytes. Well that's my opinion, it all comes down to taste after all and as we say in Greece "peri orekseos, kolokithopita"(About taste, pumkin pie...) Testing for yourself is the best way to determin wich rom fits you! Peace out :D

For Flashers a bad time.

For Cooks the most fun time.

I used Blue Elves for about 3 weeks. I liked it, but there were apps I didn't use and I didn't care for the LG Menu. I am currently using Shadow CE. I am digging this one.

It is the only one that I can have PCM Keyboard 0.14 to
operate fully.
With all other ROMS in 6.1 the space key is disabled some how.

I like Shadow ROMs but my problem with that ROM is the available RAM after a day of use, the maximun amount of available RAM is 10mb with no applications opened.

What's the difference between the Shadow 2.1 CE and TE?CE is the 'clean' version of TE. It's missing a lot of softwares that you may not use.

Stuffs like Wktask, Hibernate, ClearTemp, LongEnd etc etc.

I believe it's also missing some HTC plugins like the cube, HTC Home etc.

Because it's missing all those, it is faster and more stable. If you can find all the .cab's, you can custom build something that has less 'junk' that you don't need.

2 problems with the CE though ... not all the .cab's are available, and it has a greenish theme, which to some is pretty ugly.

I wonder which XIP Cloud is using.

The Ram issue mentioned should not occur... with Bepe's Ported XIP (I'm not knowledgeable in XIP editing and i believe Cloud has some good connections or know more about this then me) but WM6.1 should fix the memory loss, because of how Memory related drivers now have to answer to initvmap.exe

So i can only asume and i might be wrong that this is either a regular Touch WM6.0 XIP with OEM and SYS from Wm6.1 or something else is wrong especially if there is no cube and HTChome the memory should not drop so low.

Use dot fred's taskmanager to see which programs and services are running.

Prefer ELVES 5.0.

i am using elves 5.0 now,and it is quite gd
but when i tried to receive imap email,the email subject with chinese cannot read correctly,but the message is ok

and i found the regional setting have not Hong Kong or china to choose..~

I think both are good. I flashed my HTC touch many times already and it is true that the OS Cloudyfa and Swiftblade provided to us here is better than the original ones that comes with our touch.

Anyway, keep up the good work Cloudyfa and Swiftblade. Looking forward to your further work of arts. :D

I like this ROm ... actually i have not tried any else..... but it did solve my call dropping problem (probably)

and i like the LG plugin (though still don't knough how to edit it)

... its better than the original ROM and has most of the features i wanted

.... read comments on Shadow n it lukd like its a bit difficult to use .. so didn't take the risk ..

Hi there,

I had a Shadow 2.1 ROM previously, but the weather option didn't work, so I changed the ROM to T-Surface, but I don't really like it.
I have several problems with the surface and the options as well. How could I load back the Shadow screens alone to my phone without changing the ROM itself?

Any ideas? :confused:
