I want to see what other peoples home screens look like, how do I take a screenshot of mine? Is there an application for that somewhere. I am working on compiling information for my website so I can easily get to it all. If people can point me to the best reference areas I would appreciate it.

No problem, I have Spb PocketPlus installed with the bare minimum components for the today screen plug-in. Then on my first "Home" Page I have unlocked HTC Home (you have to do this to place it on a tabbed page of Spb) then under it is the meters that come with PocketPlus. Then on the next page I have rlToday with a skin I made and will attach to this post for any that would like to use it. Then the next tab is SBSH PocketWeather 2.0.5 that I slightly modified from the PhatPhinger skin you can find one there site. Then the next page is just a app launcher page that zips me to any of the apps that I use a lot. I have sense added a 5th page that has Windows Live and Windows Live Search plug-ins on it. The good thing is that even with all this loaded and running CRC's v12r6 6.1 ROM, I still have 42.58M Storage and 22.46M Program mem left. And I have a lot of other stuff installed as well.:D

I am glad to help. First thing you need to do to get the calender to work is download and install rlToday from this site http://rotlaus-software.de/projects/rltoday Then once installed unzip my skin file copy the folder into the rltoday directory. Make sure that the rlToday plug-in is not checked when you go to Settings>Personal>Today>Items as you will need to place it on one of your PocketPlus tabs. Once you have it on the PP tab then tap and hold on the plug-in and that will give you an options menu. In options, the first thing you will see is a dropdown where you can select the skin folder you coppied. Once the skin file JDs_rltoday skin has been selected then you can ignore all other tabs except the Calender tab. In this tab, configure the calender how you would like.

EDIT: i found some nice looking icons but SPB Pocket Plus doesn't show them when i try to change any icon (the icons are in .png format). and yes, i did copy them to the icons folder but they still don't show... any ideas?

I installed it 3 times on my storage card
& cant find a Icon of it on my Phone :(
or have the clock show up on my today screen

I had the same problem and had to use a picture manager to compress the photo for email or website viewing....I just used the office picture manager. Quite easy.

If you are looking for a very configurable multi tab (or no tab) today plug-in, then I have one for you to try. It has a little bit of a learning curve but I think that those that figure it out will like it very much. This new plug-in is UltimateLaunch found here> http://www.ultimatelaunch.de/ and discussed here> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366796&highlight=UltimateLaunch and here> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365334&highlight=UltimateLaunch

I was also using Spb PocketPlus for just the meters. As you would know this is a lot of program for just trying to put some simple meters on your today screen. So I went digging, and this was no easy task. You would think you could find some configurable meters all over the place, NOPE. What I did find was Metrix found here> http://www.apoxsoft.com/products/metrix/ But if someone has a better suggestion I would like to know what they are. I would like something like Resco today plug-in meters, but with out the extra bulk of Resco Explorer. Funny thing is that you can install just the today plug-in with the individual cab but it will only work for a short time without installing Resco Explorer.

Nope, not in German. Thing is, I can find little to no documentation and finding what settings are what witll take a little time. I purchased it only hours after I installed it. (yup, I thought it was that good, and I think I have used them all )

The font text color was done with the cool freeware application "RC Mod". Just google it and give it a try :)

But I have now switched to UltimateLaunch and placed the tabs on bottom.

Your windows folder isn't in your storage card unless you made a folder and titled it that on the storage card. You Windows folder is on your device.

How does UltimateLaunch compare memory wise to PocketPlus?

Now I am running UltimateLaunch with 5 tabs and PocketPlus (indicators only) and on the 5th tab I have NotesToday now and you can see from the screenshots what my memory was and what it is now.

Dredd, is the UltimateLaunch free? The only ones I saw were $10.00 USD.

I installed SPB PocketPlus, and your rlToday with your plugin, but I get a problem when clicking on the Tab the calendar comes out, but does not appear on the whole page, just shows up at the botton. Is there a way to make it like yours where it takes up the whole screen?

Also, I can't seem to find the HTC Home unlocker, though I think I might have it if it came with TNT Rom. How can I check to make sure? If not can you upload it?

One other thing, how can I make it so that I have to slide my finger horizontally to unlock the phone? Whats the addon called?

I've been trying all day, I can't figure out how to set it to the whole screen. What do you mean by "Much have the tab hight set to the largest number you can before getting a scroll bar?"

Currently I have Pocketplus installed. I have nothing on the today screen, when I put the pocketplus on the today screen its on top as I want it to be. now I have the HTC unlocker, so when I set the HTC on the today screen for the clock, and add the favorite people, as well as Home the pocket plus goes to the bottom, and the HTC goes on the top. When opening rltoday it only shows half of the screen. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, or if there are extra settings I am not aware of.

Your windows folder isn't in your storage card unless you made a folder and titled it that on the storage card. You Windows folder is on your device.

Yes, you are correct. If you do not see HTC Home as an option for a plug-in for one of your PocketPlus tabs then your HTC Home is not unlocked.
You can also set a static page hight for PocketPlus, I think it is around 267 for my device. This is the maximum hight for the PocketPlus Plug-in before you get a scroll bar on the side.

Judge I was able to "unlock it" Basically I went into the registry and changed the "type" value from "5" to "4" I was able to add it as a plug in, works great!

I added the cab and installed it. When choosing the icon name in pocketplus I am not able to see the icons. There all just white square. But if I highlight one and choose OK the icon goes through. Is anyone having a problem like this?

I think it might be more of a refresh issue than using the auto hide feature. Now that you have it trans. try turning off the auto hide feature and see if it is still trans. Also PocketPlus does not like some today screen plug-in's that I have tried and NotesToday was one of them. I have not had those issues with UltimateLaunch.

Just unzip and copy to the rlToday dir. and then tap and hold in rlToday to go to the options page then chose my skin in the dropdown.

No problem, I have Spb PocketPlus installed with the bare minimum components for the today screen plug-in. Then on my first "Home" Page I have unlocked HTC Home (you have to do this to place it on a tabbed page of Spb) then under it is the meters that come with PocketPlus. Then on the next page I have rlToday with a skin I made and will attach to this post for any that would like to use it. Then the next tab is SBSH PocketWeather 2.0.5 that I slightly modified from the PhatPhinger skin you can find one there site. Then the next page is just a app launcher page that zips me to any of the apps that I use a lot. I have sense added a 5th page that has Windows Live and Windows Live Search plug-ins on it. The good thing is that even with all this loaded and running CRC's v12r6 6.1 ROM, I still have 42.58M Storage and 22.46M Program mem left. And I have a lot of other stuff installed as well.:D

Looks like he uses the tabs look at the bottom of his screen. See the little House for his home tab and the other tabs for his calendar and programs.

I know The latest pocket plus had an issue with WM6.1. After every reboot the shortcut would lose the Icon and look all the same and generic. What version of Ultimate Launch are you running?

IRT Pocket Plus, I'm using 4.0.2, and it does a boot reset...but does it twice and then starts up normal...my main issue is the memory leak...after an hour, I'm down to 14mb of RAM. I'd like to use only the indicators on the main screen of UL.

Have you tried 4.0.1 thats the one I am using and I have no issues of any kind and I am even running an unlocked home screen as a today plugin and dont see mem issues.

I wanted to use it for meters on the bottom...also the Agile Messenger today plug doesnt work with Pocket Plus (IM+ does). I'm trying to remove as much extraneous junk off the handheld as possible. I like the Pocket Plus because I can delete elements I don't use.

I started out using PocketPlus with the tabs at the top but I like them better at the bottom. Then I tried out UltimateLaunch and found that it handled the today plug-ins much better than PocketPlus as PP has some issues with refresh and such. I do however like the meters of PP so until I find something better I will keep PP on my device. I also like the cube animation of UL an find it a lot more configurable than PP. I just wish there was more, or any, English documentation.
I own just about every app like this you could think of from Wisbar Advance and Desktop to iLauncher and all the like. My most recent purchase was UL and so far I like it the best.

EDIT: One more thing, with UL you can have tabs at the top, bottom or none at all. Thats right None at all, it has a built in gesture feature that lets you switch pages.

That is exactly what I did and no I have had no reboot issues. I think the boot issues come from the HTC Audio manager but I an mot sure. I only use the main home tab and the quick dial tab of HTC Home. That may be why I don't see the reboot problem that others are seeing or it may be the particular ROM I am using, because it seems very stable.

Hey Judge, you've been a big help to a bunch of people in this thread so far, including me. I really like the way you have set up your device. I've been borrowing severeal of you ideas. The only thing Im stuck on is the weather tab. You said you used an altered version of PhatPhinger to make it look like that? What exactly did you do?

Also, since you using UL, I was hoping you would know why when I change the default icons it only shows a windows icon instead of the icon i selected?

The only thing that I could guess would be that when you add your shortcuts make sure and use the XP Icon button NOT the Program Icon button. As far as the PocketWeather skin all I did was move some stuff around and made the current temp larger and little things like that, I really just altered the skin to fit my own taste.

I am attaching my altered skin file for PhatPhinger. Keep in mind that I only altered the Phat+208 Layout because that is the only one I use. All other layouts for this skin are the same as the original.

Set the tab hight of UL to 0 and set the NotesToday hight to what ever fills your screen.

1. Make sure HTC home is unchecked in start --> settings --> personal -->today
2. download and install HTC Home customizer. Run the customizer and I think in the last tab at the botton, uncheck the option to lock the HTC home screen. BTW you can do this with AdvanceConfig but it wouldn't allow you to customize HTC home.
3. Open UL settings and create a plugin tab. You can then select HTC home as a plugin for UL.

I know WM 6.1 has some memory leak problems, however, in my testing this is more predominant with UL. Is any one experiencing the same thing? When using HTC Home by its self, memory utilization stand to about 66%, however, with UL it creeps up until a soft reset is required.

I think I run a fairly extensive setup using UL and I am also running CRC's 6.1 ROM and I have not had to soft reset my phone for over a week and then it was not because of memory problems.

I am not saying there isn't a leak but I am not seeing it.

I think I run a fairly extensive setup using UL and I am also running CRC's 6.1 ROM and I have not had to soft reset my phone for over a week and then it was not because of memory problems.

I am not saying there isn't a leak but I am not seeing it.

Thanks for your response. Are u running any apb applications? Just trying to narrow down where the problem is coming from. I am running spb diary, apart from resco explorer with the today plugin. I am also running phoneweaver for profiles.

Just comparing notes. I have been running these apps for a long time and on regular wm6 ROMs without UL, there is an avg of a 25M memory utilization.

1. Make sure HTC home is unchecked in start --> settings --> personal -->today
2. download and install HTC Home customizer. Run the customizer and I think in the last tab at the botton, uncheck the option to lock the HTC home screen. BTW you can do this with AdvanceConfig but it wouldn't allow you to customize HTC home.
3. Open UL settings and create a plugin tab. You can then select HTC home as a plugin for UL.

Check out JudgeDredd67 post somewhere in this thread. He posted Ghost icons. Copy the icons to the UL icon directory. Now the config page you posted, click change to edit that tab. in the menu, browse to the icons folder and select the bwhome icon. That's it.

I just switched to Pointui two weeks ago and have been using it since, the agenda shows the next 7 days, so I dont need pocketbreeze any more, my home weather is there without any strange congif or work so no need for htc home or pocketweather, and best of all its freeware, here are some of the various screens here, you change the display on the home screen by swiping your finger across it and the whole ui is finger friendly. you cna get it at pointui.com

This is built into Pointui, the app isnt that big, you should give it a shot. I had UL before but ended up ditching after I got this.

The four attachments are two of my Today screen (with the single scrollable line ThrottleLauncher Today Plugin) and two of my main ThrottleLauncher screen (launched from the Today screen).

I like to keep my Today screen clean and simple. The single row at the top scrolls to my favorite programs, including ThrottleLauncher, which I use to launch all other programs.

Simple, I know. But I am 60 years old and need big icons to both see and launch. I like the scrolling single line in that I can have access to lots of programs with very little screen space.

I am still tryin to figure out whats the best setup for the today screen, I recently began using PointUI as a test to see how it works, I kinda like it, though the fact that you can't change the background really sucks, so I installed S2U and loaded my own background which I like. Really cool app, like the caller ID feature alot.....I used the HTC Home plugin for a while, like it but I wish it was just a bit smaller, unlocked it and didn't like the fact a large scroll bar appeared!!! Overall I have come to the conclusion I will never be happy with what I got, Main issue, i don't want to pay for anything! 2nd issue there is just so much out there its crazy, Thanks to all those who have posted reply's and supplied screenshots....Great ideas out there and all are pretty cool in their own way, I guess I am still on the hunt for the perfect set-up..........

Sir I noticed your bottom taskbar is removed...I know I found that somewhere long ago but I forgot....can you please tell me again how to remove that taskbar?

I have mine setup like yours already except that I still have that taskbar such that my plugins does not fit the screen and it shows a scrollbar at the right side...I wanted to remove the scrollbar and I thought I could do it only if I remove the bottom taskbar?

edit: I was able to find PhatPhinger for PocketWeather....however, mine does not look like yours...particularly the large icon of today's weather that looks like overlapping tomorrow's forecasts....mine only shows a small icon at the top-left corner.

can you please tell me how to get and install that large icon?

The way this is set up is I have Wisbar Advance Desktop installed running full screen. Then I have UltimateLaunch installed and placed on the 1st Virtual Page of WAD. (This would be the bottom portion of what you see) Then on the first tab of UL is, yes, you guessed it, rltoday runnning the Ross skin I made. I have other Virtual pages with contacts and shortcuts I also have another tab in UL with the same PocketWeather as I had before. The very top portion of what you see is just a Dock in WAD that has a shortcut to the start menu and some custom text objects that give me batt and mem status.
