Instructions from MaxMotus :

Part 1 - Touch Commander

Install Touch Commander and edit the FtouchFlo config file. The options for left and right scroll are blank. I set "Right 2 Left" as Action Screen and "Left 2 Right" as Comm Manager.

"Down 2 Up" opens Touch Commander Standard and "Up 2 Down" minimizes the program currently active.

Obviously configure Touch Commander Layout and icons to suit yourself. My icons that i used in Touch Commander are png format stored on storage card. I got some of mine from Alienware skin. Basically converted the ".ico" files to png

Part 2 - Ultimate Launch

Install Ultimate Commander and take time to edit play with settings. You can spec tab size by pixels (i used 40) and placement. Then you can spec total pixel size that the Ultimate Launcher plugin uses on desktop (includes tabs). I set @ 200 which lines up perfectly with the wallpaper i use. So when you change tab it moves everything between the tabs at top and the glass bar at the bottom. ie Tabs and glass bar stay static.

I used as plugins, HTC home which fits perfectly between the Tabs and Glass Bar at bottom. The Next Tab is SPB Pocket Plus with short cuts and system items. On the Third Tab I used SPB Weather and on the final tab i had short cuts using Ultimate Launch.

Tab placement can be top or bottom of the Today plugin so you could put them at the bottom of page like iphone. If you want to hide the tabs totally and just use the Cube / Slide change of tabs then set Tab size to zero.

Ultimate launch icons are in standard .ico format 32x32 or 48x48 for the animated size! So you can easily make or edit icons!

You can have as many tabs as you like I just chose 4 as i was using cube style change. And you can use all the normal today style plugins via settings. Each tab can have its own gestures regarding launching apps. I set mine same for less confusion, basically stroke down on tab panel for PocketCM.

how did you manage to get the htc home tab plugin in between ultimate launch space?

The HTC Home needs 160 pixels so you need to set the pixel size in "Ultimate Launch" to use 160px + tab size. In my case my tabs are 40px so my overall px size for settings on Ultimate Launch are 200px (Config, Display Tab, "Fixed Plugin Height")

To add HTC Home plugin, (Config, Display Tab, "Tabs") when you have created a "Tab" you can click on "change" and add from the list of today plugins!

How Do I get the HTC Home and HTC Weather as Tabs?

I managed to use the HTC home like you did, but unlike the top portion of your ultimatelaunch tab, mine has arrows to the sides. I am assuming that it's indicating the that I have more tabs to the left/right. Is there any way to get rid of it? How did you make it so that yours doesn't show any arrow? Is it because you only have 4 tabs?

Go into Config and the headers options.

Make sure "Visable Headers" is equal to or great than number of tabs you have setup.

Tat sounds nice! Would love to see this with Open Touch. One thing you may wanna consider before including is that if this app is not activated, it will have "not activated" on the application once in a while. It doesn harm but I am sure you will find a way to eliminate that ;)

Its running real smooth on my Wing. I am running my wing at 247MHz with Open Touch Biggy 3.0. Tweaked it a little with modified icons., its as good as the one in the video now! :D

From what I saw you can use any plugin. When you go into the config click new and select Today-Plugin. You should be able to add it there.

Some of the difficulty in locating may be due to the name being "UltimateLaunch" (one word), not Ultimate Launcher. YMMV :)

Actually it runs great on my wing. Hardly uses any memory. Runs ten times better than the cube.

Just a note to say that you should make sure HTC home is disabled under the today screen options first before enabling it under TABS in this program, or it might cause WM to crash. I am using K's 1.30 final. Only way to fix it was to hard-reset. :D

Thats weird...I didnt have that problem. All it did for me was push it down and put Ultimate Launch above it. After I saw that I went and removed it from the Today settings and added it to the tab. Better to be safe though for others who might have problems.

I tried putting some FAQs together which also talk about configuration. I will work on writing in more detail. But once you install it and open to UL config., everything is pretty straight forward.. I must say they have very good config UI which makes it very easy to customize.. right from changing colors of the icons to adding more tabs and plugins. But yeah.. look for more detailed description in a couple of days ;)

No - if you have flashed a TouchROM that includes the touchinterface you only have to buy Ultimate launcher....

Thanks, but Papamopps seems to have fixed the problem. I don't know about the Kaiser, but on my Wing, the information is populated from Owner Info to UltimateLaunch automatically. So of course, the info matched.

You are right, thats what I was using. It had lots of options but I had one issue with it. When I clicked on an appointment, it wouldn't open my normal calendar.

No, youre not stupid. Today Agenda is a much more comprehensive substitute for the calendar, but I didnt want a substitute, just a way to view appointments. I wanted to use the built in windows calendar for new appointments and everything else. Different needs for different people. I guess thats why there are so many different versions of programs that do basically the same stuff.

Try Installing SPB Weather, You should have a plugin for weather as a tab. I know.. Its yet another application, But I guess you cannot use the existing HTC weather as a plugin.

I am using the WeatherPanel Plugin with the Phat Phinger III skin & icon set. I like PP III because the icons are based on the HTC Home weather icons.

what is the size of the icons? Make sure the height in the Headers tab is greater than the size of the icons. For example, I am using 48X48 ico files, and the Height in the headers tab is 50 pixels.

Try this :

On your computer/laptop open notepad and type the following (without the quotes):

"35#\Windows\fexplore.exe \Program Files\Games"

or "35#\Windows\fexplore.exe \" and whatever folder you want the shortcut pointing to.

After you've typed a single line, ending in the folder you're making the shortcut for - save the file with an ".lnk" (thats LNK) extention and put it in your Phone. The file is a shortcut that will work like other shortcuts, except it will directly open the folder you want (using the file explorer).

Now go to UL and open configuration and Add a new item and browse for the shortcut (.lnk file). That should work!

Try this :

On your computer/laptop open notepad and type the following (without the quotes):

"35#\Windows\fexplore.exe \Program Files\Games"

or "35#\Windows\fexplore.exe \" and whatever folder you want the shortcut pointing to.

After you've typed a single line, ending in the folder you're making the shortcut for - save the file with an ".lnk" (thats LNK) extention and put it in your Phone. The file is a shortcut that will work like other shortcuts, except it will directly open the folder you want (using the file explorer).

Now go to UL and open configuration and Add a new item and browse for the shortcut (.lnk file). That should work!

it´s works, but opens the file explorer, i want to open the window so it shows as if you open it clicking in start menu -> Programs -> Games... not the file explorer.

The activation code is unique for each user. If I gave you mine, it wouldn't work, beacuse it is based off of the owner name that the PDA has entered in it. Just register it and get your own code.

The activation code is based on what is entered in the "Owner Name" field of the owner information. It is case sensitive. You must enter it exactly as it is in your device while registering, or your activation code will not work. I have had no problems with the message returning after I activated it.

Well, You will not need everything in the first post. The applcation is UltimateLaunch.cab. The rest of the stuff attached is just to customize your Ultimate Launcher. S2U2 is a seperate application, It is not part of Ultimate Launch. If you dont install S2U2 you will not have Slide to Unlock. First Install Ultimate Launch, and Open the UL Config., There you will have lot of options to customize, how many tabs, what you want in your tabs, what icons to use with applications in UL tabs etc.

The error could be because the height and width of an icon must be exactly correct. So I made my icons 60 (dock) and 65 (middle) pixels and for each program or tab I have set individual icon size to that specific size, otherwise I get an error too.

I'm planning some more changes to the skin, once it's finished I'll post it also.

I use some of them, what is the problem? While setting the icons, make sure that the Height in the Headers tab is greater than the icon size!

In the settings click on the display tab, and click fixed plugin height. Just specify how many pixels you want the plugin to take up.

The default Windows Mobile calendar plugin does not work with UL, you have to download another to use. I like Calendar+, it looks just like the original windows plugin, but has more functionality.

The stock WM6 calendar is not compatible with UL. I do not know of anyone getting it to work. I personally use Calendar+, and have had no problems.

Instructions from MaxMotus :

Part 1 - Touch Commander

Install Touch Commander and edit the FtouchFlo config file. The options for left and right scroll are blank. I set "Right 2 Left" as Action Screen and "Left 2 Right" as Comm Manager.

"Down 2 Up" opens Touch Commander Standard and "Up 2 Down" minimizes the program currently active.

Obviously configure Touch Commander Layout and icons to suit yourself. My icons that i used in Touch Commander are png format stored on storage card. I got some of mine from Alienware skin. Basically converted the ".ico" files to png

Part 2 - Ultimate Launch

Install Ultimate Commander and take time to edit play with settings. You can spec tab size by pixels (i used 40) and placement. Then you can spec total pixel size that the Ultimate Launcher plugin uses on desktop (includes tabs). I set @ 200 which lines up perfectly with the wallpaper i use. So when you change tab it moves everything between the tabs at top and the glass bar at the bottom. ie Tabs and glass bar stay static.

I used as plugins, HTC home which fits perfectly between the Tabs and Glass Bar at bottom. The Next Tab is SPB Pocket Plus with short cuts and system items. On the Third Tab I used SPB Weather and on the final tab i had short cuts using Ultimate Launch.

Tab placement can be top or bottom of the Today plugin so you could put them at the bottom of page like iphone. If you want to hide the tabs totally and just use the Cube / Slide change of tabs then set Tab size to zero.

Ultimate launch icons are in standard .ico format 32x32 or 48x48 for the animated size! So you can easily make or edit icons!

You can have as many tabs as you like I just chose 4 as i was using cube style change. And you can use all the normal today style plugins via settings. Each tab can have its own gestures regarding launching apps. I set mine same for less confusion, basically stroke down on tab panel for PocketCM.

The HTC Home needs 160 pixels so you need to set the pixel size in "Ultimate Launch" to use 160px + tab size. In my case my tabs are 40px so my overall px size for settings on Ultimate Launch are 200px (Config, Display Tab, "Fixed Plugin Height")

To add HTC Home plugin, (Config, Display Tab, "Tabs") when you have created a "Tab" you can click on "change" and add from the list of today plugins!

I managed to use the HTC home like you did, but unlike the top portion of your ultimatelaunch tab, mine has arrows to the sides. I am assuming that it's indicating the that I have more tabs to the left/right. Is there any way to get rid of it? How did you make it so that yours doesn't show any arrow? Is it because you only have 4 tabs?

Go into Config and the headers options.

Make sure "Visable Headers" is equal to or great than number of tabs you have setup.

uncheck the "save memory" option in the tab, that way its still running even when ur not looking at it. There should be no lag this way.

Odd, I have 3 to 4 appointments a day that show up on my calendar, I see no lag. Could be the ROM that your using/How much ram u got left/If ur overclocking... Im currently using Callendar+ and no lag here.

I don't have the startup option checked on Calendar+ and I still don't have any real noticeable lag. Once in a while It pauses for maybe 1/2 - 1 second to display all appointments. I can make that go away by checking the startup option, but it doesn't bother me at all, so I haven't messed with it. The only plugin I have the startup option checked is HTC Home, and I've been thinking about WeatherPanel, but the calendar loads pretty fast so it hasn't been an issue.

From the main page in UL, pick new and then select combination of tabs. This will allow you to use more than one today plug in.

That was the key piece of ergonomics I needed JLine...I was hazy on the tab concept but now that you showed me the combined Tabs system is supposed to work I am really impressed with this program!
Seems to take up less memory than HTC HOME plug does and I'm hoping the memory leak I was experiencing with Home will also be solved (but I suspect it may be WM6 not Home but anyway...)

I'm going to look back in this thread and find the link to buy and activate this.

Only issue I have is that the Icon system is a bit too fussy. At least on the Tab Icons...
I'm going to make some custom Tab Icons and that should solve that. Think it is purely a size problem. Program won't resize icons which would be easy to do.

Just a little hint I found playing with it...Don't bother with the EXE entry at all...Simply use the LNK system and browse to windows startmenu programs as you will find links to just about everything installed there.

Yes and just to add the settings in there ARE location specific so as long as all the files (Icon & Programs) mentioned there are in the same location you should not have any issues restoring your old config.

I haven't had that issue exactly but I have found that you can quickly run out of memory and get some less than good performance if your not careful. Especially if you try to have too many today plugs running inside of UL.

Also when you install anything new that has a today plugin with it it is better to disable that plugin on the today settings and find a place for it in UL.

There is some memory saving features built into UL (like not activating plugs unless they are visible which I haven't played with much but would seem to be the way to go. I think maybe you just got really low on program memory and thats why you are having the issues.

All you have to do is when creating the Item Link, search in File Explorer for Windows--->Start Menu -----> Programs ------> Games. Meaning that what you are linking to is the Shortcut from your WM Start Menu

I have about 7 different tabs in UL most are mixed tabs with both today plugs and launchers related to that today plug information.

I realized that all I ever really used from the cube was the favorites contact dialer and I found a Picture dialer today plug (on XDA here) that does that and takes up next to no ProgRam at all.

I'm now only use about 28 megs of the 64(48 reported) megs of program memory and the unit is as snappy as I have ever seen it.

ILord - Looks to me that proggie is just another variation on the HTC Cube...
Same three panel concept (Today,Launcher,Favorites dialer).

My problem with that is it tends to be limited in what you can do with it...
Only so many favorites (one page) Limited Today plugins unless you want to scroll....And preset launcher icons that you CAN replace but still limited to how many you can use...The rest must be in the standard HTC Home plug launcher which is fine but also quite limited...

With ULauncher I can make as many screens and launchers I want. and combine today plugs with corresponding launcer icons.

So Thanks for the heads up on the shell but I think I like the flexibility of UL better.

Yep just make sure pixel height in Diary is smaller thn in UL
set mine to 128 as you can see in order to have some space (on the bottom) to turn the cube to left or right (cube = 185 pixels)

Well you shouldn't even have to enable the plugin, it should enable on install.
So I think you should reinstall UL.

I tried SPB Diary and had the same issue with gestures. I used the O2 calendar instead. No issues with gestures with that cal.

I am having a slight issue with UL so thought I would present it to the masses for some help. I was using SPB Mobile Shell, but was not happy with the footprint nor the fact that I was not able to easily customize the icons, what they have is just not professional looking, so went back to UL and loving it again. The only problem I am having is that I have the TodayAgenda setup on a tab and when I select the tab and d-pad down to scroll with d-pad it won't work. It worked before but not now and it works on all the other tabs. Very weird. I have tried deleting the tab and soft reset then re-doing the tab but it is a no go, still can not scroll with d-pad through the week of appointments. Has anyone else experienced this or have a clue how to fix it?

I'll start by saying that I know absolutely zero about software programming.

Out of interest though, I wondered if it would be possible to install two seperate copies of UL (using different file names or something) so that you could have two UL plugins running on the home screen?

That way you could have a top cube for home plugins (HTC home, calendar+, resco today plugin etc) and a bottom cube for programmes and apps.

Just a thought...

You can put as many Today plugs as you see fit into any face (I call them panels) you want. The only restriction in UL is that you may not use the same today plug twice or on two separate panels. So if you use the messaging plug on panel one you can't also use it on panel two. You can however use a different messaging plugin on another panel.

Even if you could figure a way, keep an eye on your battery/memory levels. With 2 plugins active, on UL I notice a big difference. It's worth it though...:D

This is true. I have a plug in that behaves slightly differently in UL than it does on Today Screen. I like the behavior under UL but can't bring myself to use it with some of the annoyances on Today. I do agree that there wouldn't usually be a need for this. :-)

I am pretty sure the answer to that is no. Although you can configure different screen gestures for each tab. Clicking the tab toggles it's visibility and I haven't found a way to modify that.

In a way, yes it will. But for ultimate launch to work you will probably uncheck your today plugins from the today settings and add those plugins to ultimatelaunch tabs. So to go back to normal after you uninstall ultimatelaunch you will have to re-enable those today plugins back on your today screen, which is as simple as checking a box in the today settings.

This is my first post I have been a lurker for months now. Just wanna say this is an awesome site, I have learned a ton and finally have my phone set up the way I like it. I am using my Apache with WM6 and Ultimate Launcher. My problem is every time I do a soft reset I have to remember to uncheck ultimate launcher from my today screen, other wise none of my today pluggins will load after the reset. Once reset I re-enable Ultimate launch and all is well. But if I forget my today screen is black , have to uncheck UL and reset again. I really want to buy this app ,but this little flaw is a pain I can't figure it out. My today Live apps are UL,Lg buttons, and battery status. I have the HTC Home ,weather panel,a shortcut page, and Today agenda running in Ultimate Launch. I have done a ton of searching here and on other sites and have found many others with this same problem, but no fix. Hope someone can help me cuz this app rocks I wanna buy it if I can get rid of this bug . Thanks for any help!

Why not just use the tabs at the bottom? Do you have them set to 0? Other than that I don't think there is a way to do that.

Instructions from MaxMotus :

Part 1 - Touch Commander

Install Touch Commander and edit the FtouchFlo config file. The options for left and right scroll are blank. I set "Right 2 Left" as Action Screen and "Left 2 Right" as Comm Manager.

"Down 2 Up" opens Touch Commander Standard and "Up 2 Down" minimizes the program currently active.

Obviously configure Touch Commander Layout and icons to suit yourself. My icons that i used in Touch Commander are png format stored on storage card. I got some of mine from Alienware skin. Basically converted the ".ico" files to png

Part 2 - Ultimate Launch

Install Ultimate Commander and take time to edit play with settings. You can spec tab size by pixels (i used 40) and placement. Then you can spec total pixel size that the Ultimate Launcher plugin uses on desktop (includes tabs). I set @ 200 which lines up perfectly with the wallpaper i use. So when you change tab it moves everything between the tabs at top and the glass bar at the bottom. ie Tabs and glass bar stay static.

I used as plugins, HTC home which fits perfectly between the Tabs and Glass Bar at bottom. The Next Tab is SPB Pocket Plus with short cuts and system items. On the Third Tab I used SPB Weather and on the final tab i had short cuts using Ultimate Launch.

Tab placement can be top or bottom of the Today plugin so you could put them at the bottom of page like iphone. If you want to hide the tabs totally and just use the Cube / Slide change of tabs then set Tab size to zero.

Ultimate launch icons are in standard .ico format 32x32 or 48x48 for the animated size! So you can easily make or edit icons!

You can have as many tabs as you like I just chose 4 as i was using cube style change. And you can use all the normal today style plugins via settings. Each tab can have its own gestures regarding launching apps. I set mine same for less confusion, basically stroke down on tab panel for PocketCM.

The HTC Home needs 160 pixels so you need to set the pixel size in "Ultimate Launch" to use 160px + tab size. In my case my tabs are 40px so my overall px size for settings on Ultimate Launch are 200px (Config, Display Tab, "Fixed Plugin Height")

To add HTC Home plugin, (Config, Display Tab, "Tabs") when you have created a "Tab" you can click on "change" and add from the list of today plugins!

I managed to use the HTC home like you did, but unlike the top portion of your ultimatelaunch tab, mine has arrows to the sides. I am assuming that it's indicating the that I have more tabs to the left/right. Is there any way to get rid of it? How did you make it so that yours doesn't show any arrow? I have tried some iphone emulators but, this one is by far the best one out there and i only ran accorss it by accident while doing some searches on the web but, I will be sure to tell all my ppc buddies about it. :)

Just a quick question? I know there is a setting to make the launcher return to the home side of the cube after a specific amount of time but is there a way to create a button to make it return "home" manually? I want to add a button to each side so I can return quickly & automatically.

The button is already there...Just click on the tab button you want it to go! Why take up more ram putting in a button to do what there is already a button for? LOL

I often skip the fancy cube turn to jump 4 panels to get where I need to go right away!

Only use the cube when I'm showing off! LOL

Seriously though I had to scrap UL temporarily until I figure out what ROM will work better for the memory aspect of it...
I just flashed a custom with ppckitchen and with 6.1 I couldn't keep the ram down enough to keep UL running...
It's installed but I have it shut off for now.

Made from my original Focaldesign skin (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364712).

Now top is rlToday, middle and bottom are Ultimate Launcher (anyone who has an activation code? The 'not activated' message appears very fast and is annoying...)

First screen is empty (when you tab the active dock icon again, it hides the middle part).
First is contacts tab with link to dialpad/PocketCM/Mailbox (blue icon is when touched)
