Revised 02/13/08

This is for anyone with TCPMP and/or Flash Video Problems using a 3.02 or 3.03 based WM6.1 ROM.

If I get a chance this weekend I will flash a 3.08 Version & see what I can find.

Ok, this time it's been tested by several others!!!! I have gotten it working for 8 out of 10 people & number 9 has TCPMP working, but not the flv yet. 8-1/2 out of nine ain't bad! Works 100% for Sleuth's V3.0!!!

This is working 100% for SLEUTH users!!!!! This is the instructions & files to get back your TCPMP & YOUTUBE & All the other .flv sites you used to have.

Not a sleuth user??? Give it a try! Has work for others with the new instructions!!!

This file includes detailed instructions & all the files you need!

This pack contains the lates TCPMP + FlashVideoBundle + the latest AAC & AC3 Codec plugins.

This has been confirmed working by others in Sleuths forum, but you must follow the instructions implicitly. You will need Resco or another high end File Explorer for this fix because you need to be able to select the "Always use this for this file type" check box as supported in resco.

Here is a RS premium Folder containing everything DL: http://rapidshare.com/users/NM7XYV

Here is a standard RS Mirror: http://rapidshare.com/files/91614567/TCPMP___FLV.rar

Mirror: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pl5h41

If you have questions about installation PM me. I can also help you via MSN Messenger if you have problems.

All right, Here it is! TCPMP for WM6.1!!!

NOTE!!!!: Please make sure you use the EXTRACT feature or you will not get the folders.

Enjoy!!!:D

Great work GSLEON3.... Thanks for your efforts.

I am sure one of the nice talented cooks here would volunteer time to make a cab for most if not all of the commands here.

Guys, by mistake I duplicated some of the FlashVideo files. Won't make any difference, but it will take a little space from your SD card. As soon as I get a second, I'll post the ones safe to delete. (For noob's)

I'm sure most of you already figured this out.:o

I must doing something wrong.

Here is what it looks like.

/Storage Card/Program Files/TCPMP Media Player 0.81RC1Beta/

Under that folder I have.

/TCPMP

and

/Player

I copied to my /windows/start menu/program folder

player.exe
videosites.htm
videosites-clean.htm.

Sorry if I sound stupid but maybe I just don't understand what I am doing wrong. Site comes up fine but when I click on the video it doesn't work.

It loads the video on the webpage but it doesn't launch TCPMP

i also tried cooking it in and using it the way it is neither way worked both still yielded the crash.txt error

If you extract to you computer you should get The TCPMP beta file that contains the player file. This goes in \SD Card\Programs or whatever.

Then if you extract the FVB file you should get another file called TCPMP. This also goes in \SD Card\Programs. IT DOES NOT GO IN THE OTHER TCPMP FILE. They are seperate folders, seperate programs, so they get their own file in SD Card\Programs.

You make a shortcut to player.exe for your start menu. Now, if you extracted them on desktop & then moved the files over to PPC then inside the FVB file named TCPMP, you should have other folder. One called VIDEOSITE CLEAN. You make a shortcut to the cleansites .htm in the cleansites folder & again place the shortcut in your sart menu. If you unzip instead of extracting first you just get a jumble of file from each. That's why extract first; that way the folder structure stays intact.

As soon as I get my GD big USA *&%&#@ TomTom map I'll post my file structure if you still need it, but CE2's got me tied up at the moment.

Does TCPMP run by itself??? It's working great for me on Sleuth's 6.1

Is it just the FVB that's not working? Let me know so I can fix it!

LOL I'm lost...I give up. I'm not sure I understand this.

could you just show me how it would look in hierarchical scheme.

Like /Storage Card/Program Files/Player

/Storage Card/Program Files/TCPM

I guess I am not just understanding you clearly. Sorry It's a been a long day at work.

I believe it works on that build as well. I think it's just the 3.03 build that has a problem....but I could be mistaken. I'm using a custom 3.08 build and it's working fine now.

Guys try using either of these roms as both allow fully working flash playing from internet explorer built in. I have not had any need to install the video package cab floating about

Alexs Rom v5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363865) Alex.v5.WM61.HTC.302.Home.ROM.beta2

Vodaphone rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365058&highlight=RUU_Kaiser_VF_UK_3.08.161.0_radio_sign_2 5.74.40.02_1.64.08.21) RUU_Kaiser_VF_UK_3.08.161.0_radio_sign_25.74.40.02 _1.64.08.21

Both are 6.1

(neither has any major problems and both are fast. Both do not have the restart problem either!), both have "0" problems loading video from the internal Internet explorer as I use YouTube and Liveleak daily and vids work via windows media player or TCMP automatically.

I installed TCPMP Version 0.81 and it picks up video to be played from the built in internet explorer straight away. The "play Video" click prompt pops up and on selection plays straight into TCPMP!

Never had a problem. Just make sure you select TCPMP file types to be played prior to using it.

Hope some of this helps

Below is the version of TCPMP that works with the above roms, and I've included also the "flash plug-ins" as some may need them?
:).

Install both files to main memory. Select the relevant options in TCPMP such as flash files etc and it should work ok,

Can't think why mine should work ok. I know I have tweaked the reg a wee bit but the rob is as it was updated.

I have just checked the VF rom and mine wont work either anymore. However when I reinstalled Alex v5 Rom it went back perfectly to playing flash files directly from internet explorer via the options that pop up on a flash site. So all I can suggest is that you try Alex v 5 rom.

ok the reason some is working some is not is because alex's rom and othersare based on CE OS 5.2.19188 (Build 19188.1.0.0) not CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0) , the latest 19199 build doesnt support tcpmp for some reason.

so i guess the question is can anyone get tcpmp working on latest build of 6.1 not the older ones

Yeah those bastards...Unless I have any luck porting the old plugin (way different from new ones) I'd say NO.

They only offer the flash support through their OEM package & the EU mobile player engine actually seems to restrict it.

But who knows. I am nobody compared to many here.

It works well for roms based on 3.02 versions and not on those based on 3.08 version.

Tested myself with 5 ROMs - this is the only reason.
Something has been changed inside 3.08 ROM that stop TCPMP from working at all (crash.txt).

The same thing with SRS WOW HD sound enhancement which works perfectly with 3.02 ROMs and not with 3.08 ROMs.

My hypothesis: some internal audio/video routines/drivers are changed to incompatible versions with 3.08 ROM

I haven't tried a 3.08 myself, but one noobie last night said he got it running using 3.08 after several hours of PM's.

Of course he could be full of $hit.

I heard that there are some new Qtv .dll's in the 3.08 version. It could be that MS is trying to do the Qtv overlay like coreplayer uses for all video & display. Because that is a very specific protocol that TCPMP was never designed to use, it could present issues.

I'm gonna try a 3.08 this weekend. See what I can gather about it.

Hey Man Thanks.... Works great... using WM 6.1... Slueth V3

I think Slueth V3 is excellent - One reason for changing to UDK 7.0 VEGA is the fact that I could not run Skype on Slueth V3. I have found that any on the WM6.1 roms I have tried either Skype or TCPMP does not function. Both of these programs are useful to me. I am hoping to resolve the TMPMP issue on UDK 7.0 VEGA as it is my preferred choice of ROM.

Thanks for the input and for this useful forum.

The exe is called Player!

I agree that TCPMP works out of the box for MOST.

But for a lot of AT&T user, myself included, it would NOT work until I got it to launch first & then re-installed to get the registry settings.

Remember, there are lot's of differences that can cause problems, from radio versions to issues with other software you've installed that can raise compatibility issues.

The reason for this post is because TCPMP & FlashVideo would NOT work for me after flashinig Sleuth. I posted that I got it working in Sleuth forum post & received numerous request for how I did it. So far I have corresponded with about 15 people that have NOT been able to get TCPMP & Flash working with the Sleuth ROM.

All of the Sleuth users that have had these compatibility issues have successfully gottten it working using the instructions. Lots of thing affect & interfere with other programs & how they function.

Why has MSVC over BT worked for me & a lot of others, when many other people have be unsuccessful???

Just because it works for you out of the box doesn't mean it's that way for others.

Sorry, I have only skimmed through this thread, but I installed TCPMP and the FlashVideoBundle on my Tilt with Sleuth's 3.0 ROM regularly with out looking at this thread first, but I noticed that a few of the sites off the FLV Sites bookmark work well for me (Google, Veoh, and MegaVideo, for example), but not others, like YouTube (most importantly) and DailyMotion.

The error message I'm getting on Utube is: "youtube swf args not found". Is this related to the problem everyone is having with TCPMP and certain versions of WM6.1 or my issue a totally isolated problem? Because everything else seems to work just fine...

*Edit:
Nevermind - I was using an OLD version of the FlashVideoBundle.cab. All is good now, carry on.

I had the same problem on my phone after a ROM update. Here is the link I found with a recompiled version of TCPMP that worked for my 6.1 ROM.

Re: TCPMP
I have a Sprint Mogul just upgraded to WM 6.1
It reads
Rom 3.56.651.0
Radio 3.42.02
Rom Date 06.16.08

Is this the correct version of TCPMP for my machine
TIA
