Dynamo2 working on wm6 or 6.1!!!!! [Archive]

Ok, so I didnt learn about this program till today... and when I tried the cab, it didnt work... I did some research on the Dynamo website (http://www.aspecto-software.com/rw/applications/dynamo/index.html), their forums, and here... yet, still no dice... However, with a little bit of time, i got it to work, hopefully you will all have great results ;)

To those of you who dont know what dynamo is... its an animated task switcher that allows you to pull up a picture of all open tasks and switch to that picture with your finger or close that task. Kinda like with Vista on windows desktop, except its VERY finger friendly. I have mine set to a button and to a finger gesture with FTouch...

To install this... youll need some older framework... go to the link below and download. After downloading go to your program files on your computer. Look in "microsoft .net framework" folder and upload and install the "netcf.all.wce4.armv4" i wouldve uploaded the cab, but the xda attachments wont let me :confused:

not working for me. i installed netcf.all.wce4.armv4.cab and the dynomo cab you linked to, but clicking on dynomo from the programs menu only flashes the screen as it opens and then immediately closes, no luck!

you have to map it to a button and then click it. the preset hot button should be the start button. so essentially, you have to open it twice (once to fire up the program, and then again to pull up the program)

are you getting any error messages?

yeah, that did it. I didnt realize I had to essentially run it twice, once basically when the phone boots up, and then the next time i run it it will boot into the cool task manager setting. very neat program, a little under-featured though, but good enough to use for a cool alt-tab like program.

thank you! holy crap this app is SUPREME.
i got it configured to open with the windows button and its highly configurable which is a plus! is this person still working on this app?
it would be great if it could be updated to work with the latest frameworks so we dont have to install that old one.

i read on their websites forums that 2.5 might be released, but i havent had any framework problems as of yet. it also seems like it only blended in with the existing framework on my device which is a good thing. if this isnt updated by the original developer, maybe someone could ask him if they could continue where he left off, because its a great app. also, they might want to check out his flowfx, there is a dev kit for. itd be really cool to be able to call each transition before a program loads up. our wm6 phones would OWN if this could be implemented lol

I can't believe there was a program like this all along. It's freaking sweet. If you all like it, you might want to go over to the developer's site and post on the forum that you'd like him to continue. I think he basically gave up on the program because he didn't think there was any interest.

lol... i noticed that... but then again, i have a tilt... atleast now im actually using some of this memory... its worth it to me... i just set up my wad3 theme and i have the title set in the middle. i click it, it calls it up. its worth it :D

I was thinking the same thing. I have the Sprint Touch. Can anyone confirm if downgrading from the latest version of .net framework causes any negative side-effects ?:confused:

i have the sleuth v3.0 wm6.1 rom for the kaiser (best rom to date for me, ive tried them all) and it comes with the 2.1 framework or 3.5 i cant remember, but i havent had any issues... it does use quite a bit of memory resources... like 4 mb... but to me its worth it since i have a lot of memory on my tilt. the program runs really fast. im not 100% percent on this, but i believe it will blend in with the existing framework. try installing it and see if it asks you to remove the current framework, it didnt for me :D

Hi all,

Excellent work, however, when you switch to landscape mode, the screen get distorted, then when you back in portrait mode, the distortion still persists. You then have to restart the phone. Any ideas on how we can get this excellent software to work on both landscape and portrait modes?

Can't you just use the .net Config application to make Dynamo use .Net 3.5 instead? The cab is attached. I'll try it at some point and report if nobody else wants to.

I had the same doubts as you, but i can tell that i can't see any side effects on my TyTn II... so far. Everything that needs .NET 2.0 or greater is still working as it was. I think this is not as much a downgrade as just installing older version next to your current one.
I've tried the file from andrew-in-woking, but dynamo would still generate an error on startup, thanks anyway mate.

Can you make the close button pictures bigger? They are not to figer friendly. Is that possible? When you start the dynamo program it shows the picture great but the issue is that the close button is way to small to click.
Swaping the 'close pictures' in the theme folder for bigger ones might do the trick, you have to check.
For some reason 'close' doesn't work on my phone (it freezes dynamo and all apps that it was showing), don't know why...
Anyway, it is great application. The only thing it is missing is to be able to setup a background image not just a colour...

i'm using the 3.02 leaked sprint rom on my touch... followed directions to the T, but when i launch the app, all i see is the wait curser for like 4 sec and then it goes away and i'm back to where i started...

it's really nice. tried it for the past few days.. but IMO it's not worth the 4mb of ram it takes up everytime you load your device.. and the installation of .NET 1..

Hi all,
I tried running Dynamo 2 with .net 3.5 configuring the programme to use this version with the .NET CF coniguration programme and it doesn't work. So, you do need to install .NET CF 1.0 on top of your .NET 3.5.

i can't get this to work for the life of me, i'm startin to think it wont work with the 3.02 custom roms... i've been trying with multiple roms and it just won't work... i install the .net1 from the cab then the dynamo cab map it to a button and still nothing... the closes i've gotten is that it'll load then go to error details quit page... and that happened without install .net1.... when i install .net1 NOTHING happens!

what am i doin wrong?

will do if it was not for you i would have never found this app...altho my rom is based on the alltell rom.....but still it should be pretty consistent..either it works with wm 6.1 or it does not...(not always that easy tho) i will let you know how it goes...

I installed it. And uninstalled it. Now there is a major problem: Now and then a dialog with title "Shell" appears "A unhandled error has occured in the program. Trying to restart the program". If i click Ok it restarts the device. Do you know how to solve this? Have to do hardreset?

so i can't get it to work...i installed .net cf 1 did a soft rest installed dynamo did a soft rest and all i get when i active the app is my wait cursor for a few seconds than nothing...no matter how meny times i run it...i have wm6.1 on a htc touch(vogue)...so the new version that was talked about(2.5) was mentioned on the developers site 1 year agao...i think he might have given up on it but i sent him an e-mail asking to continue dev on it a pointing out that we here would love to see it work on recent devices...hopefully he will get it and i might get a beta build of it...i will keep you guys posted....if anyone has anyluck getting it to work on WM6.1 any help would be aprreciated...
