WM 6.1 |Skype problem

I can install it but it wont run. I get message "Skype cant start". Anybody with same problem ?

YES I HAVE THAT PROBLEM WITH KAISER
I INSTALLED SEVERAL VERSIONS OF SKYPE BUT NO ONE CAN RUN
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HERMES TYTN BUT I FOUND A VERSION WICH WORK WITH VERSION 2.053 BETA
BUT WTH KAISER I M STILL SEARCHING THE RIGHT VERSION OR MAYBE ITS WITH NO ISSUE
PLZ INFORM ME IF ANY SOLUTION

I was using HTC WM 6 and skype worked without a problem. After the upgrade to 6.1 it stoped working

I'm using DCS 1.4 WM6.1 and Skype is .. rather buggy on it.

I've used two WM6.1 Roms. One from Laurentus and one from Schaps and both have let me install, run and connect with no problems whatsoever. Hope this helps.

Confirm as stated above, I am on L26 rom running Skype_2.1.0.65 It works great.

install first the latest Skype_2.1.0.65.CAB and than install the Skype Version: 2.2.0.45 found here: http://tom.x-files.lv/Cabs/From_X-Files-Skype_for_Diamond.cab.
this double install is because the ver 2.2.0.45 does not have a shortcut install to programme.
it works perfectly for me.

Can anyone else confirm this works on an original uncooked rom? I've actually been thinking about going back to an original wwe htc rom lately because im getting terrible battery life with L26 v9, but i have to have skype, and i know they dont work with original builds.

I modify the CAB posted by newto to correct the link creation and file location installation. Now you need only install one CAB.

Sorry, this method don't work for me on spanish official cooked ROM. Launching the Skype (after second CAB installed) deletes the DLL res file on Skype folder... strange...

This is why the CAB i modify don't work either.

I'll keep investigating... the original 2.2 CAB from Skype don't work on my ROM, but this was expected...

no, sorry for the misunderstod... the DLL is in the second CAB, and is named SkypeRes200.dll, but after executing skype for the first time, the DLL disapear... strange.

Original skype cab should have "SkypeRes100.dll" for QVGA graphic and icon and "SkypeRes200.dll" for VGA. If you start Skype for the first time (some settings in registry record that), it will delete the un-needed one. For VGA diamond, it's 100.dll. For QVGA kaiser, it will remove 200.dll. If you don't have 100.dll from this skype beta build, you can try if the dll from previous build and this registry work for you or not.

well daniel, if no other easier solution is working for u, mine is also simple.
1-download the first CAB
2-install the first CAB(skype2.1)
3- download the second CAB
4- install the second CAB(skype2.2.0.45)
5- go to programme and start ur Skype normally.
u can even put it as shortcut in the last tab programme.

the skype2.2.0.45 is just a patch to the skype 2.1 to make it work on WM6.1

I have given up on Skype and now use Fring........ so much better, skype and messenger in one program. Maybe this is the solution!

I'm glad that it is confirmed working on other ROMS.

If we could only somehow find some "xda-devel guru" capable of "disecting" Ageet's AGEPhone 2.5 or 2.6, to see how did they managed to make VoIP calls to go through the internal speaker (earpiece) when we click "switch speakers during the call" in setup screen of AGEPhone 2.5 or 2.6.

If we could find a way somehow to make something similar to a BTAudioToggle for activating internal speaker before making/receiving call on Skype/VoIP, it would make our lives easier :)

same problem on Verizon's touch. I tried both the 2.2.0.45 by itself, and then uninstalled, installed 2.1.0.65 and then 2.2.0.45; still can't hear the test call voice.

that's an outsatnding request, it depends on each manufacturer, they have to give out their API to get the sound through the earspeakers.

I found some sort of workaround tho (from the skype forums), Just put your volume as low as possible (on 1) and put your phone on your ear. You can now hear your conversations while others cant :)
DOnt forget to slide the volume back when done.

Ive tried installing it from my PC as well as on the device. Still gives error on custom cooked vzn rom.
