This ROM is not bad at all. Is it a real 6.1 ROM?
The Good:
1) BT Stack good. I've used my S9 stereo headset and there's no problems so far. Music plays well.
2) Very fast and stable. No problems scrolling while browsing using PIE.
3) Very Clean ROM
The Bad:
1) I have not found a streaming media player that works with it. I've tried TCPMP and the HTC Streaming Media Player. I cannot play youtube videos. Any clues on how to do this with WM6.1
2) When I try to update the library in WMP to include songs on my SD card, I end up with not only songs but all ringtones, etc. in the library.
Nice Job dude.

This ROM working fast. Cool! But:
1. My PC (WinXP SP2) can't find driver for BA, ActiveSync installed.
2. Some several programs don't start up. (popup window with "The file 'mchat' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate..."
Can anybody help me with this problems?
PS: Sorry for bad english.

nice to see you in our forum, thanx for ur great ROM and support. I have a question regarding the battery drain, i have a brand new battery but it lasts only for 12-18 hours with usual phone usage and GPRS always connected (for exchange server), is it normal or i have a problem?

Love this rom. The only issue I have found so far is my backlight not working. When I soft reset, backlight is on. As soon as it boots into the rom, the backlight is off. Have checked settings, pressed and held power button (to turn on backlight) but nothing I do seems to turn the backlight on.
Anyone else with this issue?

Try this plugin for TCPMP:

I have not flashed the new rom, but I guess since this is independent from the rom itself, it should work ok. Enjoy! :)

Thanks. I think I've tried that video bundle. But I'll give it another go just to be sure.
PDAVIET:
I know that Helmi, Xplode, and others have made lots of contributions to the BA. I know this ROM would not exist without their work also. Nevertheless this ROM is simply rocks. Possibly the best ROM for BA yet. The more I use it the more I like it.
1) It connects quickly to WiFi. If the device is turned off, the WiFi goes off. But when the device is turned on again later, the WiFi springs to life and connects. With other BA ROMs, I had to go to the wireless manager page to restart WiFi.
2) The Bluetooth has fantastic sound. Better yet, it stays on when the device is shut off so that I can use a BT headset reliably. Some earlier ROMs had to keep waking up to keep the BT going. This was very annoying.
3) The 6.1 is very stable and fast. I haven't had to do any resets so far.
I am finding some programs won't load. I get errors like "Not Signed or Bad Certificate". Is there any way around this?

Can you post which programs are not running? I believe that I saw a patch for the Certificates error somewhere in the Development and Hacking section. However, I am not sure if these patches are program specific.

I have net cf 2.0 on my laptop. I did find in the HTC Trinity threads a reference to cf 2.0 and 3.5 cab files for the PPC. I tried adding it to my BA but it would not install.
I want to run either HTC Streaming video program or tcpmp. HTC's Streaming video player installs but won't run. TCPMP install and runs but won't play Youtube contet like it did on WM6.

I got three words for you: "read the wiki"
The whole flashing process is nicely explained there. I am guessing that you did not clear storage. Also, which rom did you upgrade from. If so, did you make your Extended Rom visible (if upgraded from 2003)? Just read the wiki and follow it step by step.

arg... as if BA at wiki can be accessible.. something wrong with their server link k.. btw, i fix my own problem already, hard reset with (no yes yes), btw, for ur info.. of coz was the lastest helmi rom wm6.
I m using this new rom now, after 1 hr messing with it, it's fast though but i still not install any proggie to it, one thing i found out.. the window media player 10 missing? anyone got the add on for wmp10 cab file? wonder can play .avi files..
update: okie wmp10 is in the rom, but it's on the start menu only, i dun see any icon on the programs sections.
Getting started not working, erm, cannot delete multiple contact at once... cause i got duplicate entries.
i really like the layout of the startup of pdaviet rom. ^_^ nice works.. more bugs to b fix.. ^_^
the 2 GB memory card really will slow down the BA, wonder why? issit too big ?

If you guys have not flashed the BA much before, you need to know that you need to clear the "hive" on the BA before flashing a new ROM. It's like hard resetting other devices.
You need to read the wiki on the BA. I have the SX66 with no camera. I have to press the record, windows media (for some this is a camera button), and the soft reset button at one time. Then you see the three color bar screen. Choose No for the first item and yes for the next two items. You toggle between yes and not and the different choices by pushing in the record or camera buttons. After you have no, yes, yes - hit the messaging hardware button. This will completely wipe out any data or previous settings on your device. (Feji didn't do this. This is why he has duplicate contacts).
Then put your device in bootloader mode (see wiki but I think it's power and reset button at the same time). Then you can flash this ROM
With my BA I have none of the problems you mention. I also use a Sandisk Ultra 2GB card. I have it set so that all my internet temporary files are stored on the card as well as email and attachments. This ROM is very fast.
I really don't like the 6.1 PIE all that well yet. Images are larger but one has to scroll to see all the picture. I wish it fit the image to fit the screen and then enlarged it when clicked. This new browser is fast with WiFi but if one shifts to GPRS its slower than the earlier PIE.
Windows Media Player 10 is on this ROM. You just have to look for it.
If anyone gets this ROM to play YouTube, I'd like to hear how you did it. I wish I wrote in vietnamese and could post questions on the authors site.

Actually, that's not right...you do that AFTER the new ROM has been flashed. You perform the hard reset...choose no yes yes, then press the envolope button.

I actually clear the hive before I flash a new ROM. Flashing a new ROM doesn't necessarily clear everything from the hive and you can get remnants of your earlier ROM left.

I dont think it matters clearing the hive BEFORE or AFTER applying a new rom. I myself do it AFTER... and have no probs with whatever left from previous rom...

Does anyone know how to change the date format in this rom to MM/DD/YYYY?
I have checked on the wiki, but I cannot find the Reg key that has this stored. Any help will be appreciated. :)
BTW, this rom is fantastic!!!!!!! It is fast as hell. Will test with more time later today, but so far so good :)
Edit: Nevermind I found it :)
For those of you who might want to know (before you ask questions like I did), here it is:
Date & Time
This involves editing the registry so be very careful when do this. I take no responsibility if this harms your device in any way. NOTE: changing the date on the HTC home will also change the date for the way you view files in Explorer or Total Commander.
First open PHM Regedit located in Start > Programs > Utilities > PHM Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / nls / overrides
There you will see SSDte & STFmt
To edit the date to a format to look like: 4:20PM change the value data to h:mm:ss tt
To change the date to example: Feb 12, 2008 edit the SSDte value data to MMM dd, yyyy
ddd = Day of the week ex. Wednesday
mm = month
yy / yyyy = year
You can adjust the date to whatever you want to see it as.
Thanks goes to duttythroy in the Kaiser forums

Hi,
I installed this ROM (with Ramdisk) on a PDA2k but it seems to have a phone wake up problem.
That is, I turned off the phone, but it keeps turning itself on every couple of minutes, which is very annoying and useless, since I have no sim in the PDA2k.
Anybody has the same problem/knows how to deal with it?
Edit: Looks like the phone turns on only when PDA2k is cradled.

A couple of things that come to mind. First of all, do you have an active Active Sync connection? I ask this because you said it only happens when you are craddled. AS will turn your device on every so often while trying to synchronize with your BA.
The other thing could be that your bluetooth is on. This will wake your PDA every so often...
I'm not sure if it helped you or not, but since I am not having this issue, it is kinda hard to guess...

Yes and no. (and thanks for the suggestion)
The ACtive Sync is probably the cause for that problem, but during the night I discovered a lot of other more important problem, such as wifi not working at all or tomtom navigator not finding a bluetooth gps...
I probably did something wrong. will install it from the beginning as soon as i have time.

Glad I could help. Now, make sure that you are turning on the wifi via the Wireless Settings first and then via the Comm Manager otherwise it will not work (at least the first time that you try to turn on the wireless). Also, if you installed the wifi Drivers v2.cab, you may want to remove it. I installed it in my BA, and my wireless went completely dead. I went back to normal after I uninstalled it.
As far as the TomTom, what version do you have? And also, which BT receiver are you using. I have a Pharos BT receiver and it works like a charm with TomTom 6.01.

Hi,
is anybody syncing two computers (for instance work & home) with this ROM? Any problems? The reason I'm asking is because I'm having some problems on another WM6.1 ROM...
Thanks,
PoGa

When you remove the battery and then power it on you must wait about 3seconds and reset the device. Then it will be fine and the radio will be back :P And yes your ram/storage status is alright.

RTFM!
I solved by RTFM: I had not cleaned the Hive, and that messed up something.
And as you said, Wifi drivers v.2 messed up something else.
Tomtom is working after taking care of those thing.
Now I have some more minor problems with Wifi authenticated networks, but overall everithing is working fine.

I am using a dopod d810 and had recently upgraded to wm6.1.
I noticed that the device keeps waking up every 5 to 6 mins.
Just a hunch, I disabled my 3G and it solved my problem.
My question is, how do I enable the 3G and not get that waking up problem?

Interestingly, I turned on my 3G and see if the waking up problem still occurs.
It doesn't anymore. But in the first place, why did the waking up problem occurs? What had caused it? Puzzled...

after trying this ROM for a few weeks, this is what I found:
1) I had around 60% cpu usage all the time, I checked with XSCALE too and it confirmed this, after checking what could be wrong, I found that the ZOOM sms utility which comes with the ROM, has a serious problem... I disabled it from the phone menu, et voila, max 2% cpu usage at 530mhz (with xcale)... the rom is even faster now, really amazing...
2) wifi still has problems starting, same as all the other roms, eventually it does kick in...
3) bluetooth DOES turn on the device, if it doesn't, you just got lucky, but rest assure as soon as a bluetooth device comes in reach it WILL turn on ;)
4) synching mails with exchange over wifi doesn't work? I'm not sure if this is a rom problem or I have another issue, but it used to work with other wm6 roms and now it doesn't anymore, but I'll check everything to make sure...
5) SMS notification doesn't work, I don't get any sounds, nor vibration when an sms comes in... quite annoying actually
All in all, this is a really cool ROM, and I'll stick with it for now
