I searched and haven't seen anything posted about this great app. I just installed it last week and I LOVE IT!!! It is by far, the BEST way to manage contacts with an HTC device. I tried PhotoContacts and PocketCM and to me, they were too hard to get used to, IMO. Sunnysoft contacts is very simple and easy to use. When you click the Contacts button, a contact list pops up with 3 liines as default and a keypad also pops up. Just start typing the first few letters of the contacts' name with the keypad and the contact pops right up.
It's really great.

It does look cool, doesn't it? Awesome...

Works with PocketCM, too. You just have to press the lower right button if your device doesn't offer a hardware number keyboard.

this app has great intentions but it still doesn't work effectively.
It's very hard to scroll using this feature. PocketCM and VITO FunContact I think are better apps then this. It has great ideas but just needs a little more work :)

I was using Sunnysoft (as registered user) few years ago before the Phone edition of Windows CE. Their support and products was great...happy to see them back.
Sorry for this out of topics.

I like it in general.
I really like:
1) Assign Sunnysoft Contacts to Phone button (use it to replace your dialer)
2) Nice skin and appearance (Fun Contacts does not include a Close button and often leaves it's remnants on my top bar over next app)
3) Call / Mail / SMS / MMS History, both overall and per contact (creates a version of threaded messaging for all four categories)
My complaints so far:
1) Finger scrolling is slow and only scrolls a few items at a time (Fun Contacts does this better)
2) No ability to select "favorites" (again Fun Contacts does this better)
3) Tiny arrows which are difficult to see or use for scrolling through Contact numbers (home, mobile, work, etc.)
4) No keyboard tones when typing (which is why I'm hesitant to use it as my default dialer)
5) SMS History only shows the first line of text (I'd like an option to preview the full message which really would allow me to use it as my default SMS app as well)
Maybe we can get some of these improved features in version 1.3? :)

Great review. Thank you for sharing. I pretty much agree with everything that you say. Nice work :)

After playing with Sunnysoft Contacts for the rest of the afternoon, I found another bug. At least on my phone, the MMS's and emails aren't showing up under the individual contact's history. Anyway, this is a nice program and it has a lot of potential. It just needs a little more polish.
My recommendation for the time being is the Vito Fun Contacts & Vito SMS Chat combination. They are visually attractive, simple, easy to use, and integrate well together. I like Fun Contacts favorites feature which makes getting to my frequently used contacts very easy. I think SMS Chat is much better than the Palm Threaded apps. I especially like the envelope with the text message that appears in the middle of your screen whenever you get a message.
Just my opinion for what it's worth.

Tried it, like it but doesn't beat i contact.
for me icontact is the best and it's free. Nothing beats the speed and that is what counts when you have 400 some contacts you call on every day and call you for that matter.
Thanks for sharing, as you know sharing means caring !!!

Yea, I had the Vito SMS Chat, but what I didn't like about that was the fact that the message button didn't link to it, you had to manually start it every time you did a soft reset, and the number one thing I didn't like was that the word completion didn't work with it.
Very nice app. though.

Exactly what I was thinking. How were able to link SMS chat and FunContact I was wondering how to do that myself.
i have this cooked in as my default contact app in my pvt rom, i find works great imo. much neater than regular htc random access
and as per the slow scrolling i noticed that aswell but it was because my screen sensitivity threshold was 100 its at 300 now and it flies

Hi all,
I have tried all the threaded sms apps and I really like shogunmarks palm sms app. Sunnysoft contacts is a pretty neat app also with a few bugs. Right now I am using these two apps, until Vito integrates their sms chat with our kaisers. I recently upgraded to the new shogunmark palm sms, which has the option to send pics, video, and audio, it also has a few updates also. I found it on xda by accident, browsing through some of the forums! I have installed it but somehow deleted the cab file. I am by no means a noob
Wink, so I know how to use the search button and I have searched throughout the site for the update but I cannot find it. I know shogun posted his cab for the old model and not for the new one. The only reason i want it is that i am going to try some of the new 6.1 roms out there and would like to use it instead of the new default threaded app. If anyone has a cab or link thx in advance. Thx all. By the way Dutty, Q, Alex and all the cooks out there you guys are doing a great job, keep up the good work.

All you have to do is link SMS-Chat to your message button through the button settings. It works like a charm for me. I do wish the word completion worked with it and I wish there was an option to not go full screen (ditto for Fun Contacts). But it's such a nice interface that I'm happy to type in my own words. :)

I guess it is different for everybody, but I also totally prefer FFF. Extremely easy to use and provides very fast access to your contacts.

Er... FFF isn't actually free.
Still - It's a fantastic app that only has a few very minor improvements stopping it from being damn near perfect.

hey,
I'm gonna look for all the programs you guys have mentioned. They all sound promising. The only reason I had photocontacts was because I'm a txting junkie and I like being able to give each of my contacts their own txt tone. BUT, I also like the fact that I can use my tones on my sd card instead of using internal memory. any programs have preferably both of those options or at least the first?
photocontacts has been randomly cutting off for no apparent reason as well. I tried to do a search here and @ ppc but to no avail. any help will be greatly appreciated. :D

Anyone notice that the number 1 key for voicemail speed dial doesn't work? I've tried a few things but can't get it to work. The other speed dials all seem ok.
