Cant make calls

ok so i just got a brand new 8525 from AT&T after my old 1 felt like not working anymore.. i got it this morning, called at&t they added the new IMEI to my account. but for some strange reason. when i go to make a call.. my signal strengh goes from 4 bars to 3 to 2 to 1 then to no signal then the call ends. happens every time. even when some one calls me. they sent me 1 of the new AT&T branded phones, im using my old Cingular simcard would that make a difference? or is this a bad radio or sumthing?

wow... i downgraded back to WM5 and now i can make calls. weird... i guess ill upgrade back to wm6

upgraded to WM6 from HTC site... and worked till i went to bed. woke up and nothing. no service. and when i get service... makes a call then does the same thing. 4 3 2 1 no service call failed
