I've already tried to clean hive and format storage and no good... again problems with Wifi...

I prefer 19716 because it's more "clean", contact list better, x button better, clock not "cut" with pBar.

19199 - nice phone and calculator skin, cool software like Group sms, pocket rar, pocket power, pim backup, WOW HD Settings, SMSDR Fix. But this software anyone can install.

Why not make a fast,clean and stable(with NO bugs) ROM and let the users choose the best software they want to use in BA?

But nice work with this 2 roms, keep going! ;)

Xplode, i'm waiting for your ROM!! :D

Thank very much for the Rom it is fast & stable all program’s work good. I use a lot of SPB, Resco & Vito products works perfect.
Between build 19199.1.0.0 PV DVH & Build 19716 PV DVH cant find any differences. Both are good. I am using .Net CF 3.5.
Only bug is the password lock comes up after 30 secs. Password lock setting is set at 0 secs, which does not synchronize with the backlight settings, & it, exists since the first Helmi"s Rom was released. Hope someone can be genius enough rectify this.

If you are really newbie, just take and install version without ramdisk and don't bother reading stuff below :)

---- cut off here ------ cut off here -------- :)

If you're not such a newbie, you may find interesting that Blueangel is a device designed for Windows Mobile 2003, and therefore has 'lots' of RAM (volatile memory - like your PC's RAM), and less ROM (i.e. 'disk' memory).
This is due specifics of WM2003.
WM5 and WM6, tend to use pocket pc's memory more like windows on your PC does. So they use ROM as 'disk' and RAM as memory for running programs.
Because BA has much RAM, but small ROM, people sometimes use RAMDISK (which takes portion of RAM and pretents for system that it's ROM). It may be handy for additional storage space in your WM6 Blueangel, as long as you don't keep it uncharged (so you don't loose your storage data from RAM).

OMG long post...

Thanks dvha79_ddt for the clean rom I feel there is some problem in sending sms ie cant send sms

My SMS works fine, as does everything else. This ROM is blazingly fast as well. The only thing I noticed was on my today screen (Ultimate Launcher with 4 sides and HTC Home plugin on side 1) the screen sometimes does not update and I have to click start menu to make it "wake up". I think this may be due to the multitude of plugins I have running though. It also happens very randomly. So far I have been running for about 10 hours fully configured and have not had any need to soft-reset at all.

Thanks for the great ROM

:D

updated to this rom after wm6 by xplode (5.2.1933) and i'm in big trouble with the sms: instead of the old list with each single sms they are now grouped under the same sender.
Until this point everything's fine. The problem is when i loaded my backed-up sms (i've already done this operation several times, at each new rom that i've tried). I've a lot of them (ca. 5000, the whole love story with my girl!) and when i try now to access the sms the system go incredibly slow (it takes minutes to open the messagge screen, and then again minutes to open an sms).
My question: is it possible to go back to the old list type? Is it built-in in the rom or is it possible to switch to it through some options?

raymonds
17th February 2008, 02:32 PM
@jimmybonetti:

you can go back to the old list type by a registry tweak. however, you'll lose SMS notifications because of this tweak. you won't notice you have an incoming SMS message unless you've opened the messaging application, or messaging shows in your today screen.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s
"SMSAvailable"=dword:1

0=old style
1=threaded style

SMS threading is nice, but i wish the number of characters being typed (in response to a text message) is being shown, as i intend to keep it under one message (160 characters).

Thanks for the information about the registry and the notification drawback.
As for the character count, if you select the message you wish to reply to, not the entire thread but the actual message, and click menu->reply you will get the standard compose window with the character counter.

Well working with a wireless BT headset still isn't very good. Too much fading which doesn't occur when no headset is used. When calling nothing is heard and I wonder if I am connected, which I don't see. So probely not.

My BT phone earpiece I haven't tested yet for incoming calls. It looks like I have to keep on using a wired headset :(

TT and googlemaps not tested yet.

Just tested the BT earpiece which works good for incoming and outcoming calls. I will continue testing for a few days to see if it keeps on working. I had the idea my BT connecting got lost on the way.

I have recently installed this new rom version 6.1 with WM6.1 but I am experiencing few small problems with SMS.

1. Sent messages are saved in both inbox and sent folders and if I delet the inbox copy the sent copy also get deleted.

The sent messages are not being "saved" in the inbox, they are merely being shown there due to the IM style conversation that the new SMS application is using. So if you delete your sent message from the inbox the message you are deleting is actually in the Sent Items box and that is why you are losing them. If you read a few posts back in this thread you will see the discussion how to disable the IM style in the SMS application. It requires a registry change, but has been reported to stop you from being notified of incoming SMS.

2. After soft rest, all in box messages get deleted.

The first time I flashed the 5.2.19716 ROM I had this problem, I reflashed and the problem went away and cannot be duplicated so I would recommend a reflash and hive delete and storage format.

Could you please help me to solve these two problems.

Thanx.

If you goto the User CP and edit your signature you will not have to type this in everytime and it won't show up when someone hits reply. You also get the added bonus that when you update your signature all your existing posts get updated as well.

Use rom with ramdisc if you want to gain more storage (rom) but i think i'll stick to No ramdisc since WM6 can install programs to SD anyways and leave my RAM for running programs. Another thing, its a hustle if you lose you're data when you run out of charge.

after flashing you need to format storage and delete the hive. Do a little searching here and the steps will be explained in detail. I won't waste the space describing them again for the Nth time.

Any information as to what has been updated, added, removed or fixed? I'm particularly interested in whether anything has changed for WiFi.

I've extract the "Default_stwater_240_320" and "Default_stwater_320_240" for the original "Windows Default" theme. Sorry, i don't like the circles in the modified one. :rolleyes:

Installation:
Change your theme to "Windows Default" then copy the two files to windows directory overwriting the existing files. Reboot and you will get the original tsk called "Crossbow"?!...

Nice rom, i'm very excited of what my good blueangel can do ;)

Is there any possibility for logging to get any answers about the wifi problem? Besides, sending bluetooth files to BA does also not work. No OBEX?

Greetings from Germany!

BA WM5 Broadcom 1.7.1 Build 3400 Stack (Test) not work!

With this fw broadcom stack doesn't work, when try to enable BT or open bt manager it gets an error: "The bluetooth radio failed to turn on due to insufficent driver memory aviable. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn on the bt radio."
what's it means "driver memory" and "normal reset"?:confused:

After using this ROM (6.10.02. PV) for some time I do experience the following problems.

1.
My 2GD SD is reported as being "full" while 1.1GB is still free.

2.
Often I have to click twice or even more times a link in PIE to be directed to the page I want to go to. Otherwise the page is being reported as "not found"while it is there

is there are any possibility to assign the build in device lock to a button? I do not see "device lock" in list of programs

That I don't know but if you want it locked often you better install Slide2Unlock, it locks every time you push the power button...

That I don't know but if you want it locked often you better install Slide2Unlock, it locks every time you push the power button... S2U2 is a good thing except for that it's unlocks wile incoming call rings so I often accidentally push the button and during talk to the phone the screen unlocked as well. Standard device lock operates better in this cases.
