Just for your info, I have been using successfully BB Connect (4.0.0.92) with my Elfin and Windows Mobile 6.0 pro.

However it does not work with Windows Mobile 6.1. I have tried with both the Blue and the Shadow cooked roms without success..

Best regards

Thanks for the info. I'm now hesitating to change my factory ROM to WM 6.0 Blue: did you use BB Connect with 6.0 Blue ROM before? Did it work?

Hi!

Yes I am using it with Blue Elfin ROM V3.0 and it works like a charm. Very recommendable.

JohnQ, you can download the BBConnect software here:

http://www.sems.org/entry.asp?entry_id=276

Choose the 4.0.0.92 version.

I would also download and install the Blackberry Connect Desktop for Windows Mobile as it is the best way to activate the Blackberry service in your Touch when you have problems to do it wiressly. Find the link and manuals here:

http://www.sems.org/entry.asp?ENTRY_ID=225

Hi
It seems that 4.0.0.97 will only work on release ROMS, it hates cooked ROMS and will connect for about 3 seconds before disconnecting.

If you get a connect for a few seconds then the connection drops it is because you're using a cooked ROM.

My P3450's blackberry client only works on WM6.1 release ROMS.

I'm currently running 4.0.0.97 on the following:
Device:-----------------HTC Touch P3450
ROM Version:------------2.20.707.1B WWE
ROM Date:---------------10/02/07
Radio Version:----------03.12.90
Protocol Version:-------4.1.13.56

Hi,
BB Connect works like a charm here (plz pay attention to wm standard and wm pro versions on www.sems.org). I am using 4.0.0.97 on wm6.1 pro (tested on these roms: merlot, blue elfin) ....

the trick is:

1. Install a regeditor (e.g. PHM Editor)
2. Change the reg-key HKLM\System\Versions - Aku to .0.4.2 (yes, with starting dot)

Install BB connect ...

In my case I didn't need to do an RegEditing as my ROM is a release ROM and it already had the AKU setting but that is a very good point indeed!

Hi
I have tried it on apparently official WM 6.1 pro HTC WWE version ROM
R 1.65.16.25
G 25.83.40.02H
D 3.28.00.00

I was installing BB 4.0.0.97
Change settings as above and it didn't work.. :(

Can anyone post the link for a WM 6.1 pro that they know (tested) it will support bb connect.??

Thank you
Edit: I've got TYTN II and 4.0.0.97 was working perfectly with factory WM6.0

hi all,

i have managed to get blackberry connect 4.0.0.97 working on a hermes 300 with a cooked ROM "MRH 6.3 Rainbow" using the regedit method, the rom is a 6.1 rom

however i am getting strange extra mailboxes on my device with hex names similar to the issue that can become apparent if a blackberry user was to accidently install the BES software on to their computer then sync. where the device trys to register itself with a BES and fails

anyone got any idea what is going on here? as it has me baffled

***edit***

i also get an error message telling me that there is not enough storage, and that i should delete some messages when the service books are sent down to the phone

Anyone know if this will work with the VZW XV600 (aka HTC or UTStarcom 6800)?

If so... which BBC should i use and are there any modifications required?

Hi,
IMHO the 103 is for Diamond, the 100 for Elves. ID must be HTC_P3450 and AKU .0.4.2.

Nope,
i run TESS 2.4 CE, this is definetly a cooked rom (a great rom) :)

I always changed the AKU to .0.4.2 an soft resetted, but BB Connect did not work (Pending PIN)!

The Trick was to change the DeviceID to HTC_P3450, too.

Works like a charm now ...

Maybe the most noobish question ever, but don't you need to have a BB plan with your carrier in order of using this?. Is not that anybody can access the BB net, right?

Hi all,
I am from HERMES community, a noob ;-)
On my hermes 200 I am running
6.1 Pro cooked by PDAVIET with manila 2D build 20921
I am with rogers Canada, so please recommend which BB connect I should use. I mean 4.0.0.97 or 4.0.0.103 and also what respective AKU Values?

Also my second question, can I connect to Two BES (not BIS) systems simultneousy?

Thanks in adavance.

Hi all,
So I was able to get my HERMES 200 working on Rogers with BB COnect 4.0.97 and aku .0.4.2.
I had tons of issues to begin with but this how it worked.
Step 0. Get rogers to enable Blackberry APN ( This is free) and not the VPN requires BB Data.
Step 1. Change aku to .0.4.2
Step 2. Install BB Connect 4.0.97 (4.0.103 did not work for me)
Step 3. Chnage the connection to except both APN that is follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2382465&postcount=37
and finally because I use BES. Install BB Desktop client and configure Wireless Handheld.

A little background about my Phone and Data Plan:
I got WM6.1 Pro cooked rom by PDAVIET V20 with MANILA2d.
Radio: 1.54.07.00
OS: 5.2.20921.0.4.2

I have a 1 GB Smartphone Data Package from Rogers, Canada

All IE, YouTube, Weather etc.. continues to work fine even after the BB Connect.

Hope it helps someone. And once again thanks to everyone on this forum.

Cheers.

I apologize for this noob question:

I know you have said that bb messenger does not work for Samsung. But my question is, does it work with other devices through BB connect? or is bb connect only for emails? I have the sony xperia x1, does bb connect work on it yet?

Thank you so much

Anyone happen to have a setup guide for this? Have downloaded and installed v.100 of the cab, from the provided link. It installs 3 icons, each with their own use, but no where do I see where I am suppose to enter my email info to get the connection going. I'm on BIS, use to use a BB Pearl 8100, so my account has the needed data plans.

Please forgive a total Win-Mo noob
Any help would be great!

yo, bb messenger only works on BB devices such as storm, bold. cannot work on WM devices.

you can install bbconnect onto omnia, yes i did, but i can't get a connection. it can't generate a PIN, so, therefore, no connection. hope i have clarified.
