WM6.1 Ported link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374205
Finally after a long search i stumbled upon a china bbs ... & wz d help of google translate ....
this is a tool to extract the MarsII_G4.ABI .... hurrayyyyy
so i thanks this bbs ---> bbs.pdafans.com/viewthread.php?tid=434583&extra=&page=1
& the maker GanFan
but to be in the save side, ill quote the page
Currently this tool set is targeted for O2 ZINC (in fact, including Asustek Galaxy series machines), it will extract NK.NBA from .abi (With NK.NBA, COOK ROM is no longer a big problem), can change the first boot screen, and amend the EXT_ROM.
1. Extract tool to a folder
2. Drag the official o2 rom to the XtractEXE.exe
http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/9973/54756918hs2.png
u will get the .abi
3. Drag the .abi to XtractABI.exe
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/4561/46621353se2.png
u will hv an OUT folder
http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/4432/95265655mp5.png
inside the folder u will have nk.nba
http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/7387/79638698fq0.png
then u can use the imagefs tools to extract the rom
For Ext rom u need to extract the Ext_rom.bin .... u can use WinImage to extract it
To change the bootscreen,
1. drag ur .gif to ReplaceGIF.exe
2. A folder WorkSpace will be created
3. Inside it will be a new BOOTLOADER.BIN file
4. Replace the ori BOOTLOADER.BIN
5. Use ***.BAT inside the OUT Folder, to combine back all the ROM inside OUT Folder
***** .GIF file must be less than 159,488 bytes
Hopefully this will help us to cook a better rom for our Zinc
Thanks again GanFan for the amazing tool

Finally after some time, i think i managed to cook a rom for xda zinc
(thanks for everybody who help me here in xda-dev esp anichillus for his kitchen)
... but ...
Bare in mind this is not an official ROM, I wont be responsible if in anyway u bricked ur dev
Background:
This Rom is based on MWg Zinc WM6 ROM Upgrade (ENG) WWE_RM3070712 .... I only unpacked it & put some tools inside
I have add in
1. SmartText
2. LGMenu
3. Total Commander
4. Oxios
5. VoIP (where u have to change some setting in order to use it)
6. QuickMenu
I have excluded
1. Autoupdate
2. SqlCEMobile
3. Catalog
I wont post the link here yet ... but if u like to be a tester do PM me for the link & do not blame me if my rom bricked ur zinc
BTW
to enter the bootloader, do u use DPad right arrow & then do a soft reset
OR
use DPad down arrow & then do a soft reset
to get into this (which i think is the bootloader 3 color screen)

(I send you a PM)
two things for a noob:
1: after expand the files and work on it, how i make the .exe to do the rom upgrade?? o it's by another way?
2: I think that the way to proceed (or try) it's try to do a clean rom that doesn't consume so much ram like the actual rom, and after that put all the stuff to improve it
i'm happy ve founded something to work to improve my o2 zinc
regards
Jorge

Well in short .... the way to flash Zinc (I translate this frm a chinese site)
1. Copy the MarsII_G4.abi to ur MiniSD card (Do not use more than 2G sd)
2. Connect ur Zinc to the power adaptor (wall)
3. Do a bootloader (3 color screen)
- Press right arrow on ur DPad / Press down arrow DPad & Hold
- Do a soft reset (poke the hole at ur zinc side)
4. (not sure) Do a softreset??
5. Wait
6. Pray it wont do nasty thing to ur dev
If anybody else know the way above is correct or not pls write here
Thanks

I'm waiting your download link for the ROM
also I remember you that you can't put on the rom new programas what need the user for their install (ie soft reset or info) because it's interrupt the rom process
I'm sure that you know that, but never it's enough precaution to prevent a brick ;)

What I need is a rom without all the O2 software updates, etc...
I just need one that only serve the purpose of:
1. Phone
2. Messaging
3. All the wireless module, Bluetooth, WiFi, GSM, GPRS, 3G, Infra Red.
4. Office
5. Acticesync
6. Internet Explorer, if possible, only with Opera
Other than that, ex. Adobe, O2 softwares, messenger, mobile RSS, Windows Live, etc is not needed.
Is it possible to do it?
Thanks.

its a shame that i cant find any other sites that supports o2 zink aka mars 2. i had updated to the latest wm6 rom on new years eve and the rom was quite shitty. the spb gprs clearview pdf if totally uncalled for. im surprised that the only guys who are working on this are malaysians. lucky me. so i dont want to rant further... could someone please cook a clean rom for the zinc. the os, all the drivers for the native hardware and please repack all the additional cabs sothat we can really choose what we want. i am willing to help if only i had the skill. anyways, i just hope that you skilled people will do something about this

I agree with these items - especially Opera.
I have been looking for a mod rom for months.
Zinc has too many problems.....
I had to del some key files found on another website just to keep it from hanging so much.
Can't wait to see another rom!
Thx

First of all, thanks for all your effort to make a cook rom for Zinc :)
Like some guys mentioned above, however, I'd prefer a clean rom, means the basic WM6 will all drivers supporting hardwares and having as less as possible default apps, even Ms Office. By this way, we can personalise our own Zinc by choosing which apps is necessary to install.
For example, I can list some apps that should be excluded:
- O2 apps like O2 menu, O2 SMS Plus,
- Windows Media Player (it sucks, comparing with other media player like Pocket Music and Core Player, for example),
- IE,
- MS Office pack (in my case, I need it not to be default so I can install it later on SD card to save memory :D)
It's just my idea anyway. And thanks again for your work :)
