hehe, title says it all

am after a cradle to charge n sync my s620, but they dont specify whether it will fit in whilst using the larger capacity battery and backing.

as this is how i use mine all the time, sadly.

any big battery users with a desktop cradle? :p

I've yet to see one for the excalibur that will take a big battery on the phone. There are some dual chargers that will take a high-capacity battery in the back, while the phone is on the cradle with a standard battery installed.

And most cradles for this phone are a pain unless you remove the rubber cover over the USB port entirely.

can you clarify this post please :)

does the cradle you bought charge the big battery whilst it is attached to the phone with the cover on?

i am not interested in one which can charge seperately, but only when attached to the phone.

if so, do you have the sellers name?/link?

thanks.

ahh thats true, didnt think about that!

I have an iKross USB docking cradle that charges the regular battery in the Dash and can charge a second extended or regualr battery in the rear. It is perfect for internet connection sharing with a notebook PC. I got it from Bargaincell http://www.bargaincell.com/product_16598_1781.html

If i'm understanding you correct, this is most likely a battery problem. Battery issues have been discussed several times on this forum. If you are running battery intense programs such as PIE, WI-FI, any media player, etc.... and your battery dies all of a suddem then most likely its a faulty battery. The battery will normall stay on when not doing anyting battery intensive, but dies when doing the aforementioned things. You may consider replacing your battery

Like pudgedaddy said, Replace your battery and all your problems will go away. E-bay for all your needs, my friend. Make sure you buy an OEM Battery or if you noticed that you use your device extensively, then get an extended battery.

I also have similar problems with wm 6.1 rick's v7. I had no such problems on wm5. I think it is somewhat suspicious if the battery failed at around the same time that I installed wm6.1.

Symptoms are as described above: short battery life. Sometimes charging takes much too short, and even though charge is at 100%, it quickly drops (notice that as far as I know, usually the symptoms of a bad battery are the opposite - charge will drain normaly to a certain point - say 30%, and then go to 0% in a few minutes) - in this case, after charging all night, charge is at 100%, but drops to 80% or 70% after a short time. On wm5 I would still be at 96% after 2 hours or so....

Last night I charged my phone while off. It went through the whole day with light-to-medium usage, and got to only 81% !!
Recently it has been dropping from 100 to 80% in 5 minutes, so that is a big improvement. :D

Does anyone know where I can manually read the voltage level of the phone? Or a program that reads the voltage level? I'd like to see at what level the phone stops charging...

Do excaliburs have extended rom? I know some HTC devices with ext rom need to be flashed to an original factory tmobile rom first before flashing to a custom rom because of ext rom corruption which can cause battery symptons like these.

Hello all got my new 2200mah extended battery a couple of days ago for 24 dollars and have to say it was a great investment. My day starts at 5:30 am and usually ends around 7:00pm and I use to have to charge my phone at the end of everyday sometimes before the end of the day. I'm a project manager/salesman for a paint company and my phone gets heavy use everyday. Now with the new battery when I get home my battery status is at 60% and I use wifi, bluetooth, play games, check email, watch movies, use sirius radio, you tube you get the idea. Also I like the extra bulk the bigger battery cover gives the phone and it fits in my dash body glove case I bought from tmobile when I bought the phone. granted its tight but it fits. Anyways just wanted to give everyone a heads up I would highly recommend this battery especially for the price. here is the link in case anyone wants it http://cgi.ebay.com/2200mAh-BATTERY-FOR-O2-XDA-Cosmo-T-Mobile-Dash-MDA-Mail_W0QQitemZ110252917249QQihZ001QQcategoryZ20336 QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262

As with any eBay seller, you have to be careful with that one. I ordered mine from them. They shipped the first one late, but it was the wrong battery. It took three months, many e-mails, and a dispute with eBay to get it all sorted out so I could have the right battery.

Even if you pay a little more, try to get it from a USA seller if at all possible.

I had the issue when my original battery would die the moment I turned the Wifi on and go to the web. My phone is over a year old and with very frequent use I figured that i just wore it out. So I heard the Radio Shack had an extended battery for the Dash at 1100 mAh. I just got the battery in a couple of days ago and it really does make the difference. This battery is the exact same shape and size as the original.

Yianaki
13th June 2008, 05:25 AM
The 1300mah oem sized siedio.com battery lasts 5 days of moderate use. :D Calling 10-15min, going on the opera mini internets for 10min each day. Or on the other hand gets 3 hours listening to edge internet radio straight. Ive had my dash for over a year and the battery was starting to let me down but not anymore. I hear there is a slightly bigger 1500mah battery, anyone have that?

beartard
13th June 2008, 05:31 AM
Bad pics and my phone is super dirty. But here you go. I think this is either a 2200mAh or 2400. Not sure. Some mid-capacity batteries will actually still fit under the original door.

I have to agree with beartard you must be careful with anything you buy off ebay always check the sellers feedback before purchasing. I had a great experience with this seller got exactly what was posted and it came in the time frame I was told it would (5-7 days). Thanks for posting the pics. That is exactly how my phone looks minus the case. As far as feel I like how the phone feels much better then before. The phone felt dainty before and I actually dropped it a few times because of this now it has some bulk to it and feels more comfortable in my hand. Again I use my phone non stop all day long. I am on my phone more than Im off it and I absolutely love this phone now. I almost returned it then I found this forum and flashed to kavanas 6.1 rom did some customizing for what my needs were the only thing left for me was the horrible battery time I was getting with the phone. Now all is good and would not give up my Dash. Now tmobile is implementing 3G so I see a phone upgrade coming in the near future once tmobile gets a phone that can do what my Dash does and supports 3G. Anyways didnt mean to start a long discussion just wanted to share what my experience with this battery was cause i know the battery with the dash is an issue and for 24 bucks I took my chances and it paid off.

I'm still trying to track down the battery problems I'm having lately (after having switched to wm6.1) (and while waiting for my new battery to arrive....)
I tried using acbTaskMan and acbPowerMeter. Both measure something, and report it in mA and are consistent with one another. However, what they measure doesn't seem to make sense...
Power use seems to respond strangely to my actions. Turning GPRS off has no consequences, though sometimes turning it on increases usage. Wireless sometimes increase power usage, sometimes not. LowLight seems to have no effect whatsoever.

Does anyone have experience with these programs? Can I trust what they say? Are there other programs that work better on the s620?
My next step would be to measure power with a meter directly at the battery.... did anyone ever try this?

NRGZ28
13th June 2008, 10:45 AM
Using an amp meter hooked up directly in series with the battery would definitely be your best bet. I believe the info you see is the info as reported by the OS, so it is what it is....

Which is why someone like me would want the seidio 1300 exactly OEM sized battery. 33% extra life in addition to the battery being newer is nothing to laugh at.

The dash's battery would need to be replaced a lot more often compared to other things because you put it through more charge cycles. If you need to charge the dash every day or two your battery capacity will surely get worse.

I used to have one of the silicone skins for it (damned good protectors). They don't fit with the extra battery, though. I just can't get through the day with a normal-sized battery. It's not the phone that gets me, but the data and games.

OK, after much hassle, I managed to measure the power on my phone.

Result are:

1. Power reported by system is inaccurate.
In particular, I saw in the power that the system reported that there is no effect of backlight off, and that once wifi was turned on, power consumption remained high. I did not see these effects with the Amp meter, so they must be artifacts.

2. I think the problems I had were battery problems. My new 1300 mAh battery lasts 5-6 days of light use - vs 1.5 with previous one. I still haven't tested wm5 vs. wm6.1, and maybe I never will... I'll have to flash back for that.

I did various other tests... here are some first results.... :D

http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=94998&d=1214288607
This shows the effect of Wifi and IE running on power use when locked. One can see that Wifi effects power when locked quite a lot, but IE running in background not.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=94999&d=1214288607
This shows effect of pressing buttons while screen is locked. One can see that each button press draws power, but a long press seems not worse than a short one. of course when backlight comes on, there is a lot of power use.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=95000&d=1214288607
Browsing the web with wifi vs. GPRS. From this graph it seems that browsing with wifi is not much more power-hungry than GPRS. There are peaks of high power use in both, maybe a bit more in wifi, but overall I can't see a big difference.

more later...

This is with the stock battery, but it is pretty far gone. And it is with an additional 0.13 Ohm resitor in series (which I think is very small relative to the resitance of the phone).
I might try again with my new battery, when I'm sure enough of myself that I won't break it in the process.

TIP 1

Active Sync Solution to Battery Drain Problem

It looks like Ative sync is trying to come on and sync draining the power from our units. Here's the instructions:

Go to program files
Go to active sync
Go to menu
Go to add server source (add a fake server and settings)
Once that is finished
Go to Schedule and set to manual
Go to options and delete exchange server from options

TIP 2
Edit these registry keys

1. HKLM\Comm\AsyncMac1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0

2. HKLMComm\Irsir1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement

Hey guys. I have gotten alot from this website so I would like to give back. I own and operate a mobile phone repair shop and would like to extend my services to this forum. Most of you seem pretty techical so even if you just want the part (microphone, ear speaker, Loud speaker, LCD) I will provide it for you at my cost plus shipping of course. I mostly deal with hardware issues so please don't PM me or post asking about software, I am a total noob when it comes to that!

Just 'cos you can't do it don't EVER say it can't be done - it's not helpful. If you advertise your services here at least so what you can do and how much - if people wanted 'um, err, let me see' they could go to any phone repair shop.

I sell HTC earpieces on fleabay for that price so it definatley isn't 'cost' - please don't pretend you are 'giving something back' and charge more than the going rate.

$10 shipped for the tools? No hardware store nearby to pickup a torx? RIPOFF. You could buy a new LCD with 'free' tools for about $20 and sell the LCD on!

Looks like we got a hater here. I didn't say I got them at super bulk price. I said I would sell them at MY cost. And that is what they cost me. And the last time I checked no one is selling ear speakers for the Dash on ebay. And when I do see them from time to time they gor for $10-$15 and are used pulled from an old Dash. Mine are brand new never used. And in my shop if your average Joe Customer walks in and says he can't hear people on his trusty Dash then he will be paying $40 easy for me to fix it. So I beleive that I am "Giving Back" by not charging my shop price.

As for the metal pad. If you have lifted the solder pad from the board some way (not the USB port itself but the pads it solders to) it pretty much is F'ed. You can glob as much solder as you like to try and make a connection but it won't work. Post a video or some proof of you reconnecting a ripped solder pad from a PCB board and then I'll admit that I am wrong.

There is always a hater out there.

The Dash ear speaker is the same as the one in the typhoon, the hurricane, the tornado etc etc. EXACTLY the same part. There are freely available NEW.

You obviously don't have much experience not to know this or be able to expose a trace on a board to repair a lifted pad. I don't need to prove anything - it's a fairly standard technique for those who are trained in cellphone repair and I've done it many, many times, not just for the excaliber. If you really need help doing it I'll do you a pictoral walkthrough next time I have one in but I'll have to bill you for the training....

Calling me a 'hater' for exposing you as someone taking advantage of the boards to promote sales / drive custom to your shop is pathetic. You are no better than the spammers who try and sell iphones for $100. So stop it unless you are actually doing something usefull. Ebay is a better source for parts than you are. I sell parts / do repairs too but don't spam! I don't need to as my prices are good...

If that is your opinion then fine. I was only trying to help. If my help is not wanted then so be it. But I just don't think it is productive for you to chase me around the forums posting in every thread I make like I some how personally offended you. If I did, I am sorry, I did not mean to. Lets just move forward and try our best to help our fellow members.

I only do repair on US variants because that is all I see in my shop. Those parts you discribed may be abundant on the UK ebay site but there are none on the US site. You must remember that the mobile phone landscape in the US is vastly different than the UK. Smart phones and windows mobile phones are just really starting to catch on with your average user here instead of just being restricted to business and power users. Mobile phone repair shops are pretty rare here too.

Anyway, Lets not go back in forth please. I was only trying to help. That is all.

In regards to the lifted pad, I myself have had to repair one's Wizard where their USB port had lifted a pad. What I ended up doing was scraping some of the green coating off of the trace and soldering some 30 gauge solid wirewrap wire to the trace to the USB termination. I then potted the repair area with some clear silicone RTV (electrical grade). Turned out that it had fixed the guy's problem. I've seen a situation where another person took a lifted pad (pad wasn't torn off) and resecured the pad to the circuit board using a little bit of JB Weld this too had fixed a problem (this wasn't done on a cellphone though). With this being said I'm sure it can be done to the Dash; it can be like surgery sometimes though. I thought I would just share my personal experience, I myself mean no disrespect to anyone, and it sounds like you are trying to do a good thing especially for some who may be unable to fix their dash themselves.

I'm not trying to push or sell anything, just correcting mis-information. my original post was to find out what he was offering with his 'help', yet when questioned it seems he isn't actually that experienced with HTC repairs, or phone repairs in general.

Read his other posts fully - he accuses me of lying when I said I could repair lifted pads on a circuitboard as it was 'impossible' so he said and asks for video proof from me I have done it - yet others also say they can do it too and suddenly it becomes possible yet he'd never thought of it before?!?!?!?....

Also, he doesn't know that the G4 wizard and Hermes share the 60H00037 LCD and states *as fact* that they are not compatible when in some cases they are!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403809

Wrong info is so much worse than no info as it mis-directs people. I'm merely correcting mis-information and being accused of 'lying' for doing so. If he knew what he was talking about and didn't write stuff that was cr@p I wouldn't post correcting him....

Other people may know something as well, so saying something isn't possible when he merely isn't capable or knowledgable of it is the issue.

A little humilty on his part rather than 'I know everything so ask me and I'll help' type posts would go a long way here. Imagine how pi$$ed you'd be if you followed his 'advice' , bought a replacement screen part 'X' as he said the screen part 'Y' you had wouldn't work - and it was B.S all along....

I kept having issues when syncing my phone via usb. Its seems if i even looked at it wrong it would lose connection (which makes flashing roms a bit difficult). Tried a new cable and still did it, so i assume its something with the port. Anyways I decided to buy one of these (http://cgi.ebay.com/New-USB-Cradle-Battery-For-T-Mobile-HTC-Dash-s620-s621_W0QQitemZ380046339132QQihZ025QQcategoryZ20336 QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem) cradles and life is all better. Gixxum - Yep that cradle looks just like the one I have, and for around the same price. It's a nice add-on for the Dash. I wish you could remove the USB cable because I use Bluetooth for PAN and Sync. Are you running Vista and if so are you using MS Sideshow with your Dash and cradle?

Also, I've cracked a lot of screens on various devices and I've heard about how easy it is to crack the Dash. Most of the time I've cracked them from pressure in a pocket while bending, sitting or stooping, and the device was either bare or in a soft case. You can also easily crack devices by throwing them in a bag with other stuff or on the side pocket of a bag.

One of the first things I did was buy one of those aircraft grade aluminum cases with the plastic screen cover and the neoprene lining. This helps to keep pressure off the glass if needed.

I've dropped my Dash a couple of times in the case and once it even fell down a few steps, but so far so good.

Hello,

I've had my T-mobile (USA) Dash since March '07 (originally WM5). I did the Tmo official upgrade to WM6 and this past April '08 put Kavana's WM6.1 on.

A couple weeks ago I started having severe problems with it staying on. I could be talking on the phone, texting, browsing the web, etc and the phone would suddenly turn off. This would happen even though the battery was showing a good charge (> 65%). I would then attempt to turn it on again and it would show the battery was dead or close to dead (<20%). I'd manually turn it off (or sometimes it would power off from being dead) and then turn it on again and it would show the battery back up to charged (>65%) mark.

Thinking this was a battery problem, I just purchased and installed a new battery and I'm having the same problem.

Last night I installed Ricky's WM6.1 thinking something might have gotten corrupted in the OS and still no luck, it's still happening.

Any ideas of what might be causing this and more importantly, how to fix it?

Thank you in advance (and thanks for the great resource of information!),

I'm no expert ,but from what you've stated it doesn't sound like the battery nor software related. All I can say is it sounds like a hardware issue and the only thing I could suggest is to take it to a local cellphone repair place and tell them the situation. There are a few on here that are good with hardware so maybe search the forums and send them a PM or wait for them to respond, but it certainly sounds like hardware . I wish you luck!

So I love everything about my phone right now except for the short ass battery life. My phone is about a year and a half old and I basically have to charge it every night. I use it for music on the bus every day, a few txt messages and maybe an hour or two of talk time. Anyway I am not sure if I am using it more, the new rom but my phone is usually dead by the time i make it home :( I am going to have to buy an new battery anyway but I really like the slim factor of my phone. there is another metal/aluminum case, which is more popular based on the number of sites that sell it, but it's not as near as finished as this one ( i speak from experience as I own the other one too) the other case is sometimes referred as black/silver monaco aluminum case. the one in the line above is the best metal case ( if metal cases are your thing) you may be able to find this cheaper on ebay or other sites. i'm just using this site as a reference for what it looks like. the specific name of the case in reference is called "innopocket metal ( or aluminum ) case for excalibur".

I only did the registry fix with the cab.. and once you install it then you are done. If you don't like it then you can uninstall the cab and your registries should go back the way they were before the cab was installed.

Nice this seems to do the job. Thank you. You should post this as a new thread... If not I can always post this on your behalf.

So far so good, active sync seems to be working just perfect and the battery is much better. Normally I would be around 60 percent by now; however I am at 72 currently... I been on wifi, internet through edge and listening to music and I am still rolling on juice right now. I would recommend you try it out... Works like a charm...

Um that is weird, so do you have any third party programs installed on your phone? Also, did it do that before you upgraded to the new Rom. Also, if anything you might need to either reflash the phone and see if the problem persists if not its either a defective battery or a defective phone.

Got my new hard plastic rubberized case from accstation (ebay seller). Came with a car charger and only cost about 6.50 USD shipped. Thing is really well built. Only have two complaints though, the car charger cord is only about a foot long, which i guess is the same as the charger I got OEM for my former Samsung T329.. so I suppose that's not their fault and thus is a satisfactory piece.. the other has to do with the size of my thumb and that the plastic covers the portion above the directional pad below the screen and that it's sometimes hard to press because I have fat thumbs.

Additionally it should be noted that you will need to provide your own screen protector as this does not.

Great value for the money though!!

is this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=160272876350) the same one you got? i bought that one on saturday and it will be here today...thats the one thing that worried me was it covering the buttons on the front.

i had the choice if a free car charger or a screen protector.. i got the charger cause i already have the screen protector

i have the charging cradle also, which im sure is going to cause an issue with the phone cover...so i think im just going to use the cover when im going away, or know it might get beat on...other than that it sits in the cradle at my desk while i work all day..

Increase battery capacity by 35% without changing the case. Was tired of running out of juice late in the day from heavy usage. This has been posted before, but here's a low cost higher milliamp battery. The dash comes with a 960ma rated battery and sedio has a 1300ma for $39.

If I do go for it, I wont have to carry the extra capacity battery with me just in case. I can use the seidio battery and have the original as backup. This way I can maintain the slim profile of the phone consistantly.

Hi Guys,

I'm very noobish when it comes to smart phones and their internal workings. But I recently upgraded to Kavana's 6.1 using the step by step guide someone posted (I'm sorry I have forgotten who).

It installed flawlessly and works beautifully thank you Kavana and the Step-by-step dude!

I've been using 6.1 for about 2 weeks with no issue but today by battery life has plummeted. In a 12 Hour period it went from 100% to 0%. Because the phone worked great for 2 weeks with no issue I'm inclined to believe that it's a battery issue not a ROM issue. However I lack the skill and insight to be sure.

Has anyone had similar issues with the 6.1 ROM?

Is there a way I can check the batter?

If it is the battery, what is the best replacement battery to get (In terms of high capacity/long life)?

Since installing the ROM there has been a G in a square at the top of my screen. I thought at first my wireless was on, but the manager showed that it was off.

Thanks for your help and patience.

I used that guide too and it was spot on. Btw, the G you're referring to is GPRS, which means your phone is connected to your providers data network (not necessarily sending/receiving data though). You'll either see that or an E for EDGE from time to time.

Is there a noticeable difference between the 1050mah battery and the 960mah one that is in the phone? In other words would the money spent be worth the increase of performance or is the difference negligible?

Hi.

Because the battery in my Dash drains fast, I want to get a new battery.

Would ones in Ebay be fine?
They cost about $9.99 and are not original battery.

By the way, I saw this comment which will avoid draining problem on somewhere: after buying a new battery, Dash should be turned off and plug the new battery, and then charge it more than 12 hours before turn it on back.

Is this true?

Thanks.

id have to disagree....on ebay you are able to get for instance just a regular oem battery for about $6. I got a cradle charger that charges the phone/syncs it plus has a slot to charge your extra battery...and it came with a oem battery plus the screen protector for $20. And just by looking, they are the same brands and really close in price..i guess its buyer preference.

they are in the US and many here have used them with tons of success. the warranty thing....honestly, its less time consuming and less of a headache to me to just buy another one at this price if i kill it. they do have a 1 year warranty though

amazon has great prices, im not disputing that...but sometimes you just cant pass up a deal

its your choice what way you want to go..do a search here for your thread title...you will see many threads about this

Hi, I have a problem with my battery life.

I updated to wm6.1 about a week ago, and then I added pocketnester. But for some reason, yesterday my phone started to lose battery life like crazy.. Today I noticed that my battery life dropped down to only one bar within two hours (Full bars).

I searched and the only thing I found was the cab to save battery life. But I am not sure if this is the issue with my phone. I also checked the task manager, and the only program I had going was pocketnester and task manager.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion or help.

I did search, and I found your link to the extended batteries. But this problem didnt happen untill recently, so I did not if it was an issue with the firmware or the battery. I didn't want to replace the battery if the problem is going to persist beccause that would not solve my problem

haha...thats the highest you can go without it doing the infinite reboot.

you really wondered why your battery was draining??? stock clock speed is like 180mhz....you are at 240..

you said "the problem didnt happen until i went to 6.1" WELL DUH. were you overclocked to 240 with 6.0? im gonna guess NO because it didnt have the option. come on guy....why you wasting our time?

if you wanna run it overclocked. get an extended battery.

My wife's Tmobile Dash recently died out of the blue even though it had full charge  . When I plug it in, I get no charging indication. I recently tried bringing into bootloader mode with it plugged in, and it came up in bootloader mode. I tried reinstalling an official Tmobile Dash WM 6.0 ROM, the install completed showing 100%, but then it went dead again. I noticed it went into bootloader mode even with the battery out and plugged in. If I power it down from bootloader mode, the orange charging light comes on for approximately 2 seconds. Is there anything else I can try, or is it pretty much a done deal that the battery is shot? Didn't see to much on search with my exct problem so I figured I would ask :). Thanks for any help or advice you can give.

Also, Bootloader Screen shows the following:

Excalibur WIFI
ONBL 1.22.0000
Excalibur
SPL 1.22.0000
Excalibur IU

yes its the battery.
If your phone is connected to your system, it gets charged as you use it.
There is a thread on batteries and which ones are popular.
Search and you shall be enlightened.

my sis-in-law's phonr lasts the same with original rom, i use the 6.w on top of forum

The stock dash battery is terrible. Made the mistake of ordering an original battery 9 months ago when my battery died, and haha... it wasn't a fluke. Don't find out the hard way, get a 3rd party extended battery.

I saw them, and i thought i may ask t-mobile to replace it, but hers is newer than mine and her battery life sucks too, now i am debating the regular size ones which i think have a few mAh more even, or get the extended life with the bigger back cover.

I guess the question now is which is the highest capacity battery that has the original form factor and does not require a hunchback cover?

If anyone can share their capacities and where they bought it, that would be great, ebay would require a lot of asking sellers, only a few that offer same size, higher capacity batteries, non in the US so far.

Just go for a high capacity battery with the larger battery cover, the size of case is not really affected and actually increases the handling of phone :)

First of all, its probable that the OEM batteries were all manufactured at the same time...Years ago....
That being the case, they are getting old. New or not...

Secondly, I have not seen any smart phone that has good battery life. Its the nature of the beast. They are just small computers after all.

Well, once you get the extended battery (if you get it) you will learn to love it fairly soon because its amazing... it lasts forever literally.

Guess i'll get a 2200mAh or 2400mAh battery then, just depends on which ebay seller is quicker/closer. Unless i try one with 1100mAh and hope it's fresher, since yes they could have bought a ton that simplo had in storage for who knows how long, then made the dash for t-mobile, which then had them in storage for who knows how long, after all, dash is far from the latest and greatest.

thanks all,

Daniel

A 1250 will work in most cases, its about a 33% gain. If you are not a heavy music or internet user that should do the trick. Ebay has them for 1.00 plus shipping 5.00. But if you are like me and a heavy music and internet user go with the biggest you can afford (which is about 2400 and 22.00 on ebay). You will be glad you did.

The 1250 will fit under your stock battery door, make sure when you buy a bigger extended battery you also get the extend battery cover.

I think its the WM 6.1 Program itself. When you check the "Task Manager" it runs a lot of programs.:( So I believe that's what drains the battery:mad:
So I had to downgrade back to WM6:cool: and everything was back to normal. But truthfully speaking. after having 6.1 upgrade for a week it made me want to be on my phone all the time. NOW.. with WM6 I dont even want to look at it..

I still believe there was a bad 'batch' of batteries. My wife and I both got Dashes at the same time, I flashed to the HTC 6.0 rom while she stayed on regular, mine goes a good 24 hours without dying, hers was lucky to last through a 12 hour period, we swapped her battery out for a different one at the T-Mobile store and it's gotten way better.

Having said that, the weekends I don't use my phone much, but I charge it up Friday at work before I leave and 99% of the time it's only down to around 30% by the time I come back into work on Monday morning. So, no, I don't think 14 hours standby is normal hehe

go to seido online.com and get yourself an extended battery 1300mah that won't increase the size of your Dash and you'll be good for a long time, when I had my Dash I had this battery and it served me well, if I recall it cost me $40 :)

Yah well that is a lot 40 dollars when I can get a 2200 one for 25 on ebay... thanks though but I was looking for a little cheaper... as I am beginning to hate the extra bulk on my dash...

Usually the stock batteries are all a waste of money to tell you the truth. I would recommend getting an extended battery as it will last you longer and they tend to be newer then the old stock batteries. This is just my opinion as I was having the same problems with the stock batteries until I got a new extended battery.

Ok, so I went back to the official T-Mobile ROM yesterday after using the WM6.1 ROM's for over a year now. I've used various Kavanna ROM up to v24 with and without Opera (The Ricky Flavor) and The NRG Rose 1.6 (Ricky & Style Flavor). I noticed after reflashing that my mobile alerts from Myspace are working yet again perfectly. They stopped working some time ago, maybe when I Flashed the Rose 1.6 ROM. I can't remember for sure, but they just stopped coming in and now they work. My MMS now works again which never did no matter what I did or either any of the 6.1 ROM's. That's not a big deal for me though considering I never use MMS really. I tried all those connections setting and cabs etc that are on here and nothing ever worked. I always would get an error. Finally, under my normal use I'd be lucky to get 3 hrs before my battery would die from being completely charged. Now, it's been 5+hrs of the same amount of use (Now with WiFi/Bluetooth running all the time.) and my battery hasn't even lost a bar yet. Any thoughts as to this? Could it be the Radios being used maybe?

I love those ROM's but after having my battery die so quickly and certain things not function correctly, I've found myself using the shitty T-Mobile ROM again. Oh yeah I also had my battery overheat on me during charging with the Rose 1.6 ROM. I have 2 batteries for swapping when I am out if one dies. It happened with both. Now both work 100% perfectly again.

Oh yeah, and boy did I miss having that Fav5 software fully working. It makes a huge difference then not having to go to T-Mobile site to update contacts and then the site not working correctly and screwing up my Fav5 Contacts. Just a side note.

I get about 4 days battery life on a 1550 so no complaints for WM6.1

Is it possible that different phones act different with different radios or something? I run 2 1050's and am lucky to get 6 hrs of use with both batteries before needing charging on 6.1. I'm now over that amount of time with 1 battery and using my phone more, because I keep checking it in disbelief it's still fully charged... I understand using more juice but that big of a difference if like comparing a Mini and a Viper (not a Supra) lol

I find it strange how "some" people get this extremely reduced battery life, i don't know why this is?
A previous post i made:
i have been checking battery usage and when the phone has been left in sleep the draw is 21 mA and i did the same with the original WM6 ROM when was using that and the draw was 27 mA so i see battery life improvement over even the stock WM6 ROM, so i'm happy in the knowledge i get better battery life now than i did then.
Supra here bruv lol

I wish I knew too, I love those ROM's you guys make, just wondering is all. especailly now that I've had 2 battery get overcharged by one ROM overheating it and making the my Dash hot to the touch and now all of a sudden my batteries are working perfectly again, not over charging, lasting way longer, and to top it off getting all my texts again...

I wonder if they changed some hardware (had a revision) in these phones at some point where certain radios work with one but totally mess up others. My Dash is over a 1.5 yrs old (from when I bought it from t-mobiles site nevermind how long they had it for lol) and is the one made in China...

Thanks for posting this.. I recently got a dash and flashed to one of the wm6.1 roms, and the battery life with wifi is absolutely HORRIBLE. I set wlan to best performance ofcourse, otherwise the performance is really crappy, but I'm lucky to get 1-1.5 hr in this mode. I'll go ahead and try the official wm6 rom and hopefully be able to get improved battery performance as well.
