Hello, I have found various results when I googled this question about if the AT&T Tilt comes with a screen protector pre-installed on it. Does anyone here know or can verify if it does or doesn't? I have a good screen protector that I got at "www.pocketpctechs.com", but I won't install it of there is already a factory installed screen protector.
Thanks!!

Mine also came with a screen protector in the box and I also messed mine up and got a few small bubbles under it. What is the secret for removing it?

So basically, the AT&T Tilt comes with a screen protector but it is not pre-installed, right? I am NOT talking about the Unlocked TYTN II from HTC just to clarify.

it's ok if there are few small bubbles under it. it will go away after one or two weeks.

YES I'm talking about the AT&T Tilt. The one that AT&T shipped to me. The one with the WHITE AT&T LOGO on the top right. The one with the BLUE KEYPAD.

My HTC TyTN II came with one pre-installed and one in the box.
The pre-installed one is, how to say it gently, total crap..

you will have to take up the corner where the bubble is the closest.
To take up a corner the easy way, just use a bit of Scotch tape on that corner sticking half of it to the protector and puling on the other half. Use a can of compressed air to blow on both the screen and protector. That's because it might be a dust particle that's stuck which could be causing the bubble. After that, lay it back down. I suggest doing all this in a humid washroom to avoid more dust particles. If you still have the bubble, you have to take the whole protector off and wash it. That's how I've been doing it for years.

I've been using the WriteShield protector from PPCtech and I believe they make one of the best out there, so even if there is one pre-installed on your device I would change it.

Mine TILT came with a screen protector in the box. I'm looking for a new one. Its ok, but the corner is messed up from when I took the backing off.

I highly recommend the ones from BoxWave.

or
http://www.boxwave.com/products/cleartouch/cleartouch-screen-protector-at_t-tilt_2906.htm (if you prefer a matte finish)
I've used the 'crystal' one (first link) on my 8585 and now my Tilt and love it. It's much better than the one that comes with the Tilt.

Thanks to everyone for the advise on removing the screen protector.
Waichai - you were absolutely correct. I took another look at the screen and indeed all the bubbles are gone.

I second the vote for using Boxwave screen protectors. Just installed 4 of them on our family Tilts and they are awesome. I also used them on my Treo 700wx previously.

The screen protector comes in the box, not installed. This is what I did. I peeled the protector off the wax paper, and held it by the edges so as not to put fingerprints on the adhesive. I carefully aligned the protector and lightly dropped it on the screen. Starting from the bottom edge I started running my thumb accross the screen, working my way up. When I got to the top I had a perfectly aligned screen protector with almost no air bubbles. The few air bubbles on the screen are tiny, and only visible upon a very close inspection of the screen. I do not even notice them through ordinary/daily use.

I wouldn't suggest the Smartphone experts "3 custom screen protectors" for the ATT 8925. I too screwed up the ATT in-the-box shipped protector, and bought these. After meticulously lining up the top corners, making sure I didn't have any fingerprints, holding my breath for 3 minutes, and gradually moving the protector across the screen, it ends up being about a 1/8th inch short on the bottom. Stated differently, it doesn't fit snuggly. I wouldn't waste your money on these, and I'm going to try the boxwave ones, and trash the remaining 2 of the smartphone experts' ones.

I messed up the inbox ATT screen protector too.
I then cut a piece of film from one of those transparencys for projectors. Just a little bit longer and wider than the phone screen on each edge, then squeeze it in. It works perfectly except way too slippery.
