you did a great job with this theme... especially the dialer... it has its quirks and bugs i wish i knew how to fix (on the dialer)... and as for the theme, its perfect and very detailed to the t, but is very bulky and slowly responsive on my device. once everything is in memory it is pretty quick, but once you slide to landscape or power the backlight off... the memory will reset itself. (which is a problem with wad) but that isnt your fault ;) wad2 will fix this! i have a lot of memory to spare on my kaiser... and once we get these missing drivers, im sure this theme would be a lot faster, but thats a whole new rant on its own...

but either way, getting back on track, i had to show appreciation to your work and share with this community here. thanks :D

i believe you extract the theme to /themes/desktop/ and then choose it in theme selector

but make sure you have your wad set to full screen in order for it to display properly...

Wad - wisebar advance?

Seeing the questions you have are all similar I'll answer as one.The main basis for my theme is Wisbar Advance 3 and Wisbar Advance Desktop. If you do not Have or know about these go to http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/download.php and all the relative Information is there.

As for my Theme It is easy to Install Thw Wad just needs to be extracted from the Mobile Vista.rar and the two folders Mobile Vista Portrait and Mobile Vista Landscape placed on your mobile in Themes/Desktop , that is if you have the WAD program. Then just select from Theme Manger.
All the other items are self installing Cab's or Extractable rar's and only need to go into there respective folders ie: Mobile Vista Wmp11 into the folder Windows Media Player etc

I hope this has helped

its wisbar advance desktop theme but its big. U can reduce it to 50 % because most of the background (wallpaper) is in .PNG format and u can change them to JPEG and that will reduce the size and also some .TGA (backgrounds) files are doubled and actually u can use onle one so delete if u find them i have reduced mine to 50% of the total size of this theme !!!

Yes it's only my second Dialer, Works well for me but then again I undestand all our mobiles are slightly different.

Anyway Tks for all the words and I'm glad you like It.

I haven't really had a chance to mess with any settings or Wisbar products yet, but what's the need for the Wisbar Advance?

If I understand the Question, there are no special needs they can be used on any windows mobile pocket pc pr phone addition. 2003se, mobile5 and mobile6. It's probably better with a newer modile as they usually have more memory.

Thanks for the great theme work. After a few times making the theme FUBAR'd and reloading it, I finally figured out how to customize it! I even added pages and plugins. Once it's finaly setup the way you want it, make sure you copy the theme directories to a safe location, because its a pain to customize in both portrait and then landscape, hours and even days of work can be lost in a snap. Here are some screen shots to give you some ideas:
http://www.nitestalker.net/desktop/desktop.bmp http://www.nitestalker.net/desktop/desktop2.bmp

http://www.nitestalker.net/desktop/desktop3.bmp http://www.nitestalker.net/desktop/desktop4.bmp

The blue bar next to the start button is actaully a signal meter, it helps to know if you can make a call or not.

http://www.nitestalker.net/desktop/desktop7.bmp http://www.nitestalker.net/desktop/desktop8.bmp

The last one here is a page of spb today plugins; "Pocket Plus" "Phone Suite" (as a plus tab) and "Time".

NiteStalker
22nd February 2008, 04:08 AM
Last one, used the included "weather page" and and customized it using "spb weather" today plugin, with some custom logos/text:

http://www.nitestalker.net/desktop/desktop9.bmp

I would like to see an update to the dialer if possible, the "talk" button needs redial behavior added, right now it does nothing. If I can learn how to fix it, I'll post it if thats ok. It also needs the more white top raised above the buttons, for a better appearance, in my opinion. Thanks again for all the GREAT work, I know you put alot of time into this!

I had trouble at first too, after few hours of messing with wisbar I figured it out and wrote my self a text file for future reference:

~~~ HOW TO INSTALL VISTA ADVANCED THEME ~~~
1. Copy the 2 folders in "MobileVistaWAD's-Mobile6" and copy folder "MobileVistaWisbar" to the Mobile Device under "Device/Themes/Desktop".
1a. OPTIONAL- Copy file "MobileVista.tsk" to the Mobile Device under "Device/Windows" activate to maintain keybord icon color integrity.
2. Copy folder "MobileVistaWMP11" to the Mobile Device under "Device/Program Files/Windows Media Player".
3. Install "wisbardesktop.armv4i.cab".
4. Install "wisbaradv3.wm6.cab".
5. Install "mobile-vista-calculator-skin.cab".
6. Install "mobile-vista-phone.cab".
7. Install "mobile-vista-welcome.cab".
8. Run "Start/Programs/WisBar Advance 3" (If not already running).
9. Run "Start/Programs/WisBar Advance Settings", Select "Theme" - "Destop Theme" - "Mobile Vista" - "OK".
10. Select "Destop Theme" - "Landscape" tab - "Mobile Vista Landscape" - "OK".
11. Select "WisBar Theme" - "Custom Theme" - "Menu" soft key - "install" - browse to "MobileVistaWisbar" - "OK" - "Apply".
12. Customize and repair any broken links.
Note: Use advanced setting to have WisBar start after soft resets.
Hope this helps.
PS. Using on AT&T Tilt, WM6 Professional
Sorry another P.S.
Disable any screen savers, especially "Spb Time" if you have it, the screen saver won't apear over this theme, until you try to answer a call, and then it can possibly lock up the phone requiring a reset. Do you really need a screensaver anyway, if its not in use, shut down the screen and save the battery :)
Not sure what your asking here, I do know a hard reset would erase everything though.
You do need both wisbar programs to get everything to work though (Advanced Desktop and Wisbar 3).
Don't be cheap, if you like something enough to keep using it, buy it, Wisbar is not free.
Also the common theme around xda is that they don't support wrz, cracks or piracy, this is a place for people to contribute and share.
I have abandoned use of this for something more "finger friendly", I hate using the stylus. I may play around with it again some day in the future, but until then here are my portrait and landscape directories, with all my customized links, if you use it you may have to relink a few broken links, but thats easy. See previous page for my screenshots.
Download the 3MB zip file (http://www.nitestalker.net/desktop/Vista_wisbar.zip).
No I did not include the wisbar apps, I paid the licensing fee, and if you like my edits and improvements to grzegorz10's original work, you will need your own wisbar liscence to keep using it.
The original author was kind enough to give us that one and let us do pretty much what we wanted with it, if you want to see more of his stuff his site is at http://www.pocket-pc-visuals.com.
Good Luck.
Yes it is huge and slow, another reason I moved on, does look awsome though.
As far as the iPhone part, if you want the iPhone look, go buy the iPhone :p
J/K to each his own, hack your phone until your happy with it, then hack it some more, thats what I'm doing :D
Just to let you all know Mobile Vista has been down sized with no loss of Features,over2.5 mb less. Also upgraded the Phone Dialler to one with all the Features as well, Smart Dialling, Photo Recognition etc. just be sure to uninstall any previous non generic phones and a soft reboot after installation
Excellent job yet again!
I really like the new Dialer, at first I was upset you did away with the "SEND" button on the # Pad, but then I realized I already have SEND/END keys on the phone itself, and I never use the "Speed Dial" button either.
Making room to enlarge the actual #'s by removing these 2 buttons was an excellent move, nice integration of the smart dialer also.
The best feature, and I know I repeat myself, is the LARGE number buttons! I can actually dial 1 handed with out any errors now!
Thanks for the excellent work!
