My battery life is awful. I can't go more than a few hours without having to charge my phone before it dies on me. I've heard there is a fix, but I've yet to find it.
Can anyone help me out! I'll be travelling again in a couple of weeks and I've got to get this resolved so I can access my e-mails etc.
Many thanks!!!
Jane

Turn off WiFi.
Turn off Beams.
Don't make bluetooth discoverable (or turn off bluetooth all together).
Turn down your backlight.
Disable plugins that initiate their own data connection (weather programs for example).
Don't use push mail.
Don't use IM programs.
Minimize data usage all around.
Poor signal will also drain your battery quickly, but there isn't much you can do about that.
You really shouldn't be getting that poor of battery life though. Your battery could be at the end of its life. I use lots of data, bluetooth, WiFi, etc. and my battery lasts all day no problem.

My uncle had his WIFI always on and his battery was lasting about 1/3 of mine. Beam is probably off. I use push and that does not seem to kill very bad. WIFI is probably your killer. Turn off exxcept when needed, I have unlimited verizon and never turn on wifi

inactive data connection that is still connected drains the battery as well. There is a reg key hack that can turn off the inactive data connection.

if you live on the east coast your data connection is probably very bad right now... which can kill your battery much faster then normal. check the thread about it in this forum for a possible fix.

In addition to device tweaks, I would recommend purchasing extra batteries. This will enable you to be independant of a charger, allow you to charge the battery from a complete discharge-to-full state (which improves battery memory) while providing less "downtime". Afterall, a $20 purchase to insure the $400 device + ~$50/month service is well available and convienent is worth it without loitering a 120Vac wall outlet or 12V car receptacle.
I have (4) extra oem batteries that I use:
1 at home,
1 in my truck,
1 in my wallet,
and 1 in my phone...
