Automatically turn on your speakerphone.
While the application is running, when an incoming call is received, the speakerphone of your device will automatically turn ON when you receive the call.
You can also automatically activate the speakerphone when you are making an outgoing call by checking the Outgoing ON in the menu.
It should work on smartphone and PocketPC WM5/WM6
I've tested it on my T-Mobile Dash WM6 and worked fine

Change Log v1.06 DOWNLOAD v1.06 (http://rapidshare.com/files/267530757/oldSAP_SpeakerPhone_v1.06.cab)
- fixed bugs (hope it works on other devices now)
- added taskbar icon (green phone icon)
- tap on the green icon on the task bar to show the notification bubble to be able to close the application
Change Log v1.05
- auto minimize on start
- No more today task bar icon
- fixed the on-hold situation on some phones *hopefully* (it worked on my PPC) :)
Change Log v1.04 (Tested on PPC)
- Application will automatically hide upon launch and will show an icon.
Note: Copy the folder contents to your phone's "\Storage Card\Program Files\SpeakerPhone\" folder
to change the icon, just copy over the SpeakerPhone.ico file
Change Log v1.03
- outgoing function is automatically on
- few bug fixes
Change Log v1.02
- USB only - option to turn on speakerphone ONLY when synced or charging
Change Log v1.01
- Auto answer on/off
- Delay options before auto answer
NOTE: before executing the application, create these STRING values first:
HKCU\Software\SpeakerPhone\Auto with value = 0
HKCU\Software\SpeakerPhone\Delay with value = 5000
HKCU\Software\SpeakerPhone\USB with value = 0

Thank you!
Finally one switcher that really works!
All other apps (including Phonealarm profiles etc) switch the speakerphone on only if you switch it DURING the call (unless I'm doing something wrong that is). This one works nice. I have a question though, is it possible to set 'outgoing ON' to ON by default?
AND, is it possible to start it in the background (I'd like to run it automatically when the profile changes)?
Any command line parameters? Changes in registry?

- yes, i'll do that in the next release
AND, is it possible to start it in the background (I'd like to run it automatically when the profile changes)?
- i'll check this one.
@sabestian and jon_k:
- thank you for trying it out guys.

Great program! Thank you!
It would be great to have the "Outgoing ON" restored in the last state.
Also, would it be possible to design it in a "Toggle" way - to turn the speaker ON with the first launch, and OFF with the second? Then it could be possible to put it on a hardware button as a speaker switcher...

I love your app. Makes things quick and simple. I was wondering if you could add something to it. Alot of times people are doing things with both hands. It would be great if you could set it for auto answer after two to three rings of course coming on with your speaker phone then after your conversation, auto end. After the other party hangs up. Giving it two to three rings before auto answer would give you the option to hit the ignore button. Love what your doing with the Wm5 and 6 apps. I'm using an htc touch 6900. Thank you. TMZ

Nice one !! I really need this for auto switching before launching GPS software... Works great !
Question have you think about adding silent running and commandline launching ? That would be great as all process could be done by script (mortscript for example)

I'd like to use the internal speaker with some programs.

i mean something that allow me to use the internal speaker instead of the stereospeaker...
I need it because using a voip program, I've some bad echos, because the app use the external speaker and not the internal one (the one that you use when you're making a call...)
Anyway... Any solution for the problem?

I took oldsap's v1.01 SpeakerPhone app and created a cab that installs the files to Program Files/SpeakerPhone, creates the proper registry settings, and creates a shortcut in the programs folder.
This is my first cab I've created from scratch so install at your own peril as I don't have my device with me to test with.
Thanks oldsap for the app!

Nice application
how about a today plugin small line
it can show if the application is on (green) or off (red)..maybe toggle between both if clicked
it can also show how much delay & loop amount of time (increase or decrease) everytime that is touched
that way we can have a short cut to the program & reminder of status all the time
Thanks

Wow....what a coincidence...@_@
I just made a cab for this economic yet critical application....
Note:
1. the graphic has been changed, for the shipped one with the black backgroud looks not quite right to my eyes^^|||
2. Because of note 1, the exe file shrinks from 115k to 22.5K
@oldSAP,
Thank you very very much for this great application and my apology to you for the lack of your authorization before making all the twicks and the cab file^^" I'll remove the cab if you regard it inappropriate. Thanks again^^

Can you make it go to Speakerphone whenever the phone is plugged in and charging?
This would mean when its charging in my car and on my desk it would automatically be on Speakerphone, which would be great, and when I am carrying it around it would be normal.
Thx

The added option, use only, is quite a smart secure saving users from embarrasement once "auto answer" is still "on" in the public...haha!
by the way, for users answering calls via the bluetooth-headsfree inside the helmet, it must be very comvenient to "auto answer" the phone without activating "speaker on"^^... that is, adding a new option "speaker off" will be great

Thanks a lot, awesome work :)
Just one question: with your new version (1.02), is it necessary to modify the registry before using this soft ?
And expecting that in the next release, you can add a choice to make this soft able to be loaded when windows start up.
Thanks again,

Right now, I can add the app's sortcut and then add this sortcut to Startup Folder in order to let this app start up by default everytime we have a soft reset. However, it still shows its GUI so we have to do one more step to minimize it.
When you add the option, please note to make it start in "silent mode", without showing its GUI, thanks :)

Hi there,
i've written a few lines of mortscript to start your super programme before i start tomtom. but now when someone calls me and they hang up (after talking) my phone automatically calls them back!
i have the auto answer function enabled
any idea why this happens? it doesn't happen when i end the conversation...
thanks,

fantastic! a few more touches to make it a perfect auto answer machine:
1)auto greeting: auto plays a pre-defined voice greeting message, like, "hi, i'm unavailable now, this is my answer machine, please leave a message....", after a call is connected. still, to get the voice greeting through to the other party, of course, it must be played via speaker, and there is no way to use internal speaker.
2)recording: a recorder to record the conversation. would be nice to have customizable max time and size of a recorded clip.
3)auto hang-up: ends the call and exits recording when a clip reaches its max time/size.
4)call log: logs in details of recorded clip, like, caller's id, number, time, date, length of the clip, etc....
5)return call/ text message: right click/hold a call log entry to return a call/text message.
6)compatibility with call filtering applications: handles only calls accepted and taken by call filtering applications, and ignores the rejected/filtered ones.
finally, one question: is vga supported?

The application only turns off the speakerphone after each call. so i'm not really sure why it calls back the last incoming caller.

i'll add the buttons in the next version :)

whe i try to make an outgoing call, the speakerphones is turned off right after the person i'm calling accepts my call. I'll fix that later today :)

Nice app. Was wondering how to use the TytnII when using the TomTom. Seems like the way to go.
I just don't like the fact I can accidentally shut it down. Is there anyway to make it into a background app where you can't close it down with the close buttons.

Hi Oldsap,
This is a useful program, thanks. I am wondering, for people who have PDA phones with keyboard that slides out (for example, HTC Mogul). Would it be possible to have this program to notice the opened keyboard so as it would be possible to use speakerphone by just opening the keyboard while in the call? (and vice versa, turn speakerphone off by closing keyboard)
I saw this feature on a Nokia e90 and I thought that your program is the closest solution for the WM devices, perhaps it would be easy enough to modify to have this feature.
Thank you in advance.

thank you, oldsap. the bug seems to be fixed - will check it throughout.
It looks like one more problem exists:
the speaker does not switch on if the device is connected to the charger in a car, but already charged 100%.
on my htc 3300, i see 2 different flags:
1. the led indicator reacts on charged/not yet charged, indicating it with either green or red lights;
2. battery state shows whether the device is connected to the power (even though 100% charged) or is autonomous.
I can imagine, that currently flag #1 is being checked and not #2, which leads to the problem.

1. download the zip file and extract it on your PC
2. copy the folder to your Phone's memory card (or Phone memory if you wish)
3. Use a file explorer on our phone and create a shortcut to your Start Menu folder

Change Log v1.02

From ver 1.0.2 (or may be 1.0.1, not sure :D), the outgoing function is automatically on, so there's no longer this option on the Menu.

Hi oldsap,
Will this work, even if the wired headset is on? Pretty much like the built in fm radio on my O2 Atom; there is a button that toggles speaker/headset, even in speaker mode, it also has audio in the headset, since the headset function as the antenna. thanks and more power.

JBabey
18th June 2008, 08:39 AM
You hard coded the path to the icon file as...
'Storage Card\Program Files\SpeakerPhone\Speakerphone.ico'
I run the program from internal memory, and due to the hardcode it crashes the application when I launch it.
I also (no offense) would rather it just run transparently, so you may want to remove the dependancy on the ico file so if we do not want to see the icon, we can just copy the program over without the ico file.
Thanks!

Thank you for pointing that out. I've re-coded the file so that the icon is hard coded within the application. But you can still change the icon by adding a SpeakerPhone.ico file in the "\Storage Card\Program Files\SpeakerPhone\" folder :)

Hi there Oldsap,
great little program, but i believe you are using a strange way of "hiding" the program.
I use Mortscript to startup your program and rotate the screen and start Tomtom. But i cannot control your program after it is started because it is no longer listed! The window does no longer exist, so the only way i have found to stop autoOn is to kill the process with the kill routine in Mortscript. that works, but leaves a space in the taskbar where your icon was... the only way to get that back is restart...
Could you make the autohide function optional (through registry) so i can not hide and be able to control with mortscript?
thanx!

Personally, i'd prefer it to go into main memory.
The hardcoded path makes it crash if the ico isn't available
I have Cab'ed it to include a shortcut, the reg entries from a previous post, the files in main mem, and the ico in storage card. ***UC-Compatible***
This looks like a great addition to our phones, Thank you
BTW, I'd prefer to not have a tray icon, could you make the display of it optional?

I was thinking... how about commandline options?
speakerphone.exe /auto /5 /usb /noicon /nowindow
speakerphone.exe /exit
then we could make shortcuts to launch specific behaviors or use task managers or schedulers to manage it.
BTW, have you (or anyone) tested what would happen if you had a wired or BT headset attached while the speakephone app was active?

I like the program a lot. Thanks a ton for making it. Super handy!!!
I wasn't sure if this was considered a "feature" but I noticed when I took it off speaker phone the other day(wanted to talk privately to my girlfriend), a second call came in and it automatically turned the speakerphone back on for the call I was on. It's obviously nothing dire. Just didn't know if there might be a way to have it prompt before going right to speaker phone or have it not go to speaker phone unless you actually answer the second call.

Apparently the paths are hardcoded and and not using the system values... try to create the path it is looking for, not what your device really uses

It doesnt matter. You just have to put the speakerphone.ico in the following folder. It's quite inconvenience but it'll fix the problem you mentioned above
\Storage Card\Program Files\Speakerphone\ (create the folder if it does not exist)
@oldsap: It'll be great if you can make it more fexible (for the destination folder) in the next version. Thanks :)

Hi oldsap,
I don't find the program icon either. I'm using dcinobar and traylaunch. Is it the reason why your app.'s icon does not show up at the tray bar?
Besides, I found the app. run as a process, not an application. So I tried but failed to invoke it (bring it forward). Is there anyway I can invoke it so I can change settings, for example ?

I already have it installed on the phone memory, but to get it work i have to make a directory Storage card/program files/SpeakerPhone to put the .ico file in.
why does the program not look in its own installed folder?
It can't be hard to program it that way!?
and the Cab file is a more mass for me, because it creates a new program files folder in my root in English(i have a dutch Rom). This program is not 'all language' friendly :S:S.
This because the program folder haves different names. why not let people choose where to install so it will be in the standard program folder??
Just my 2 cents;);).
don't get me wrong, i like the program and i have it working, but in this way i have folders that are in my opinion wasted because it can be more easy.
And if you are working on this, forget my '2 cents' ;).

You will need some programs that have function to revise the Registry, such as Resco File Explorer, with its Registry Editor Plug-in, or Mermaid, ... Or you can install this app by using oldsap's .cab file, it'll automatically add these strings to the Registry.

I have Kaiser. I want to use for only the outgoing calls without delay.
P.S. Sorry for bad english!

On my AT&T for outgoing calls if I use voice command to initiate the call it works however if I try to make a 2nd call after phone screen is already up it does NOT enable speaker. Seems to be a glitch..maybe it's looking for the phone screen to open and since it's already open (and can't be closed....x'ing the window does not close it) it ignores it.

Wonderful application!
Do you think it's possible to make an option in the program to auto answer a call?
That would be great!
Keep on the good work!

great app oldSAP.
the app has all the features that i need but there is a small problem like others are having which is that it auto answers but the speaker phone is not coming on.
I'm using the Samsung Omnia (i900) and this would be the perfect app for hands free in the car. if you were able to fix this problem and needed any testing I would be more than happy to assist in any way.
thanks

First of all, nice app.
I am trying to use SpeakerPhone 1.05 with G-Profile (www.ageye.de) which is an app to set profiles on WM phones. I wanted to set a profile called "Car" which I can manually select and this profile will set to auto answer and speaker (this is where SpeakerPhone comes in). G-Profile allows a program to be launched on activation of profile along with arguments. I put the Speakerphone app link there and it works. I need solutions to two issues:
1. When Speakerphone starts, it comes up with an intro screen. This means I have to manually hide it to get back to my Today screen. Is there a way to run the program so that the intro screen does not come up?
2. When I want to switch back from the "Car" profile, I do this by activating another profile "default". I need a way to turn SpeakerPhone off! Are there any arguments I can run it with (when activating "default") that will switch it off? Toggle will not work as if I am switching from another profile to "Default", then Speakerphone will come on instead of going off!

Are you sure the version you used is v1.05? Because this version has a function that helps the program goes minimized automatically after its start, as described in the change log at the 1st page.

I love to use this program, but what item should I download?
I would think v1.05, but why has it 'oldSAP' in front of the name?
edit: Tried the oldSAP v1.05 and this seems to be the correct one .. Now testing (well, wait for someone calling me in the car :P)
edit2: Indeed, when I start the link from menu, the app is opened and then minimized. But when the link is copied to the StartUp folder, the app does load after a soft reset, but won't get minimized!

The application uses about 800KB of memory when it's run. That is too much!! It's memory my navigation program needs desperately (using iGO8 with 25MB is the bare minimum)
So, any idea on how to lower the memory usage?

* When I call someone the speaker function works perfect.
Auto answer: (does not work)
* When turned ON, the speaker is turned on after app. 2 sec. (you hear a click) but phone keeps on ringing until you manually answer the call. Then when answering the speaker is switch off after about 0.5 seconds automaticly.
* When turned OFF, the speaker is switch on for about 0.5 seconds and then automaticly is switched off again.

When I tap on HIDE**, it disappears from the taskbar (I'm running the TouchFlo interface). The workaround is to tap somewhere else on the screen to keep it in TouchFlo's notification list.
I also just found a bug. I have enabled "USB Only", but SpeakerPhone seems to ignore that option. Regardless of whether my phone's plugged in, SpeakerPhone always turns the loudspeaker on.

Dear oldSap:
V.1.06 works well on my HTC diamond, but I can not tell the situation apart if the other side accpet my outgoing call.
When I make a outgoing call, speakerphone will not turn on until the other side answer. I think if it can automatically turn on when I press "TALK/SEND" key, this function will be much better.
Thanks for your thoughtful consideration on the application.

Dear oldSap:
Not only turning on after Talk/Send pressed, but also after the other side answers. I just want to also hear the ring or voice message based on your application berfore the other side answers me. Of course if someone answers, the speakerphone still turns on.
I think it must be a well utilization to combine this fucntion with your original application when we drive. Becase someone turns off his phone and I don`t know, I make the outgoing call, I must get nothing about the situation due to speakerphone off. If speakerphone can automatically turns on after Talk/Send pressed, I can hear the voice message or determine when to hang up by hearing 'the ring".

did anyone test v1.06? i'd love to know if it works on other devices.
Checked on SGH-i607 with wm6.5 build 21745
v1.06 gives error on w.6.5 when trying to hide. Otherwise works OK.
v1.05 works flawlessly (hide is OK)
Another difference between the two is that v1.06 opens and stays on screen whereas v1.05 does auto hide, which is better from my point of view.
Needless to say I moved back to v1.05
Thank you for the great app.
I would love to know if possible to add a reg key for a custom value of delay.

Hello!
oldsap, is it possible to add emulation of hands-free in your program?
In HTC phone, there's option to answer automatically after several rings, but it works only while in hands-free mode.
If it is available, it'll be super handy! No need for voice command!
ADD:
Reg settings for emulation of a headset plugged in:
[HKLM\System\State\Hardware]
"Headset"=dword:00000001
Also allows you to use FM radio without a cable plugged in :) But no antenna - no signal, sorry (((
ADD2:
Just thought about another cool feature for this app, to set speaker phone volume to a desired level while the program is running, and restore after exit. If you use your phone as a BT system substitute, in your car, you will want to have the speakers be set to the maximum level automatically. But after leaving your car and exiting the Auto-ON, when you have an incoming call, you might want the internal speaker to be a bit quieter presumably.
That leads to yet another enhancement: check USB connection, if it's on - set volume to maximum, enable hands-free 'emulation' mode, turn loudspeaker on when answered. If USB is disconnected and not re-connected again in a reasonable amount of time - exit the programme or set it to inactive mode.
But nevertheless, it's better exit - if the program activates, say, on plugging to your home AC socket to charge in bedroom, it might lead to a self-made privacy drama ))
How about that?

I'm disabled, and I only have use of one arm. usually I don't tell people this. But this program has really helped me out alot, I no longer need to fumble with the phone. So dropping it in bed, and not being able to retrieve it is not quite the issue it was, and I can't begin to tell you what that means to me. the phone that I have, is the Samsung Jack. And, although this is another beautiful piece of technology from Samsung. (all shiney and pretty) as it is, its also slick. So hanging onto the phone while laying upside down in bed, while pressing buttons is a trick therefore kudo's my brother. A simple but yet so very useful program for the disabled, and everyday user.
Now I'd like to suggest something................
I see something in this thread maybe others do also, I see the start of a company. this software is going to become very well known, your going to see it in the news, talk shows etc. Why will it be that well known you ask? Well, because this app saves lives and aids in emergency's. think about how many people that will benefit from this app, say goodbye life alert.
What you have here is a well supported idea, and I think everybody in this thread is willing to be a part of that idea if you decide to further that idea.

I was told I was crazy that you would never read this on your show, but my belief in myself and my faith in God tells me different. Due to a stroke that occurred in May of 1990 I am now a physically individual, I have limited use of my left arm and therefore I have complications when answering my cell phone and then putting it on speaker. The other day I went looking for a piece of software that would enable the phone to answer itself, and in speaker phone mode. Well, I did find that program. It's called "Always on SpeakerPhone" and it was written by a guy that goes by the internet handle oldSAP. I was so impressed with the program, I told everybody in the thread I was going to write you and get the word out. This program will be useful for so many things, not to mention the countless auto accidents it will prevent. When I turned on my TV today, there sat one of my favorite actors Morgan Freeman. And, he was talking about this very issue. I believe that was a sign from God, telling me to write you. This software is compatible with many models, and it's currently under development for others. Hello,
I use v1.06 on a HTC Touch Pro with Energy ROM.
My setup is:
- Auto Answer: NO
- Delay: 5 sec
- USB Only: YES
I want to use speakerphone only when docked/charging, but despite the USB Only function on, I always get loudspeaker on answering a call when the program is running...
And it would be nice to see a "run on startup" or "run on USB connect and exit on USB disconnect" function.
Thanks,
Jay
