Hi.

I got some problems with my new external GPS. I've tried MioMap v3 and Google maps, but the program can't find the gps. Bluetooth connection is working. Please help.

If you haven't already, go into Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth and tap on the "COM Ports" tab. Tap on "New Outgoing Port" and select the GPS and assign it COM0.

Then go back into Settings and tap "External GPS". In the "Programs" tab, select COM1 and in "Hardware" select COM0 (the original COM port you selected above). Now instruct any GPS progams to use COM1 for GPS.

Hope it helps.

Personally I've never used the "external GPS" app, and I think that's where everything goes wrong.
I'd do exactly as Drachan says regarding the Bluetooth COM port, then simply tell my GPS software to use COM 0.

Some software dosn't like COM 0, in which case assign it a different number.

I have these settings...I hope they're usefull!
Settings\System\External GPS
GPS program port:COM8
GPS hardware port:COM7 - Baud rate 57600
Manage GPS automatically:Unticked

Settings\Connections\Bluetooth
Devices/BTGPS/Services:NONE (no serial port there!)
Com Ports/BTGPS:COM7

edit:I did a Soft Reset after these settings and then I tried to connect my BTGPS!
Also in Googlemaps I had to set manually the settings(see attached pic)
Regards!

I know this is not the most useful comment you will ever read but I use tomtom 6 with the tomtom gps module. It was a straight install form the sd card and the bluetooth connection set up on its own so if all else fails and you have a bit of sparfe cash?
