I need blue and white keyboard skin and threaded sms program. now I using wm 6.1.1b rom and I am very like with keyboard skin and threaded sms feature. but many program at this rom useless for me like vj dialer, etc. so, I will downgrade my himalaya to wm 6 tofclock rom by helmi. that's clean rom and I like it. first thanks for the really great work.

I was running the C_ShekharAKU7.0c.R40.P24_public version and this was working fine for me, nog problems.
Now im testing C_ShekharWM6.1.1bR16.P32_public and it looks good.
But im missing one thing.
when you go to the settings / Memory.
Here was a tab were you could close all your programs. Where did the tab go to, and is it possible to get it back.

in total im thinking the C_ShekharAKU7.0c.R40.P24_public was a better version than the wm6.1 version is atm.
but great work.
Im still looking for a dutch WM6(.1) if somebody knows one please let me know.

thats because SIM contacts are hidden by default..look for schaps Advance config tool and install that..after that look for the option to unhide SIM contacts

sir i have a problem regarding my upgrade to 6.1.1b16CS. contacts cannot be displayed even the list of contacts. i tried to downgrade to WM5 and sure enough the contacts was present. then upgrading again to the said software, still the contacts cannot be seen.

also whats the best software to delete icons, or even reformat the ROM so the unit has fresh and clean ROM/RAM.

After you flash the ROM..before starting it have you flashed your Registery and performed the steps to format the Whole PDA :

Start your device in bootloader mode by pressing and holding down:

DPad + PowerButton + ResetButton

After a second release ResetButton, then release the rest of them.
Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.

Place your device in the cradle, ensuring that the cradle
is plugged directly into a USB port on your PC and not to a hub
and that the power supply is connected to the cradle.
It is also a good idea to disable any screensavers on your desktop PC.

Once your device is cradled, the text on the screen will change to "USB".


Run HimaUpgradeUt.exe

Sit back and wait for the Congratulations screen to be displayed
on your PC. Your device will still be displaying 'Upgrading radio stack, please wait',
but as long as the PC says it is done, then its all OK.

Detach your device from the cradle.

Now you have to hardreset your device.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.

Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)

Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES

When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts. .. are your contacts in the sim card ?

i stumble upon one of the threads here regarding flashing your rom. well basically the advise was to revert back to your original OS of the system for example WM2003. this will give you a fresh ROM to work in it. then upgrade to the ROM you wanted to. hehehe! solved my problem....

Hope you must have liked the 6.1 ROM version 6.1.1b16CS. there were still certain deficiencies existing in that ROM version. Some of them were visible whereas few were the problem under specific combination/condition. Here is an upgrade. Hope you shall find it better than before. Constant improvemnet is the objective. Learning c++ is very good. I too tried to learn it from dotfred few months back and written couple of dll s for ppc, which I am using.

yes internet sharing working, im using it now,,, brlliant rom TOMTOM/bluetooth everything i need is working for me, some things a bit slow but they seem to be speeding up as im using them

Yes! I manage to make it work. I had to install a new driver for it and now its all working fine:D

one issue so far. And BT improvement seems to have been liked by many.

Yes! I agree, for some weird reason "C" seems to run slower than "b" not sure why?

Also one thing I noticed, it sometimes hangs, like few mins ago when my sister called me (in the middle of the conv her phone switched off due to low battery) and when she got cutt off my phone got stuck. It wasn't doing anything, I pressed start nothing happend then I pressed the buttons nothing happend either. I then soft rebooted the device manually and now everything is back to normal.

I´ve got the Ambeon WL54C-SD with driver for WM5 dated 2006. No recent driver-update available.
Didn´t work with 6.1.1a16CS (Card app showed "Connected" but IE and other couldn´t enter internet)
Worked fine with 6.1.1b16CS
In 6.1.1c16CS it shows "Network available" but "Cannot connect" although I tried hard to adjust it.
What a pitty!

c_shekhar, Text messages dissapeard from poutlook -> text messages -> menu -> tools --> options -> after turning off the threaded sms. when turned on it comes back again.

SD WLAN CARD works without any problem!

What i did:

1) made a complete backup of the machine with SPB Backup
2) flashed to version c
3) restored the backup

SD IO worked with "b" without problems and works with "c" too.
ROM looks way faster in "look and feel" when opening programs, menus, ...
Tomtom Nav 5.x starts up quicker
METRO is still very very slow on reading maps.

I will test bluetooth features in the afternoon.

What happens to me is after couple of hours my start menu gets corrupted. i,e. all names dissappeard, and every time start menu is pressed the scroll down list gets bigger and bigger with repeated recently opened items.

A screen shot is attached. Anybody got the same problem? Can someone please explain me how to fix this. What I am doing now is making a hard reset and installing the progams again and this is annoying.

Are you refering to the Tray Launch, icons at the bottom?. If so go to start --> settings --> system and open Tray Launch. Untick 'Enable TrayLaunch'.

FtouhFlo is used instead of scroll bar, just use ur fingure touch in the middle of ur screen then track up or down. it is very nice :)

One question: I set the phone scheduler to stop the phone at 23:59 and start the phone at 6:00. The phone stops at the right time, but unfortunately never came back online, even if I use no PIN at the sim card. Beside, I´m unable to stop the phone scheduler from working at all. How ca I reset the phone scheduler to do nothing?

This is a wellknown SCLPC++ problem! Should be solved with vers. 0.52 of Slithers cube

The phone scheduler is a very nice utility. I have scheduled it to shutdown my radio at 2300 hrs and swithOn at 0600 hrs every day and It saves me lots of power. Now my Hima can run for more than 1 and 1/2 days without recharging on average usage.
Yes there can be bug in it because I am not a very good programmer. But it serves my purpose. You can open the \Windows\scheduler.mscr using notepad and carryout the changes for yourself as well as for all of us :). It is standard mortscript 4.1 .

I was using your version of Windows Mobile 2005 (C-ShekharAKU[1].5c.R40.P24_public) and switched to 06 version posted by you. In the latest version i.e. March version, there are a few things that I would like sorted out.

GSFinder is more user-friendly then the File Explorer. Why was it removed when it was working in your previous post of 06. Please Add if you can.

Contact backup created in 05 doesn't work. the PIMBackup when restores the Contacts, the name field shows UNKNOWN and all data ina particular contact is nowhere to be found.

Can you please guide how to restore these contacts and how to setup GSFinder?

I just encountered a new problem with my Hima, the phone function switching off and a critical battery indicator comes up (even when i have over 90% battery charge) during heavy loads , usually when i am playing games or surfing the net, otherwise the phone is okay.:confused:

I get as far as changing the KITL, Hive and Storage values as above and press the DPad and wait until OS starts. But I am still waiting, for ever it seems, as it does not hard reset.

Needless to say that I have successfully flashed and hard reset a guizillion times over the years the many many previous versions and ROM flavors.

It is only now with this 6.1.1b16CS that I cannot hard reset properly.

I tried flashing with C version, but even worst. I cannot even reset the old fashion way (power+reset). It got stuck.

I flashed back to B and was able to get it back to life at least, but without the proper hard reset. It still have the old infomation loaded, and it shows some errors at the restart.

Any ideas from the GREAT ONES.

Dear All:

Of course all the hardware buttons are working properly, as I can move up and down and change the KITL...etc values and my DPad is surely working as I got into the SERIAL and Booltloader mode by pressing the Dpad initially.

Reloading original 2003 ROM does not solve the problem of the Dpad, but it sure clears all the registers and wipes everything clean and kinda formats the system clean. Then reloading WM6.1 will start clean and fresh and all is nice and fine. STILL the Dpad reset is not working after that.

After reflashing 6.1 C, I still have the sound problem. After a while no sound at all, meaning no phone ring and can't hear the conversation or any other beep for that matter. I only hear VIBRATE mode and then I answer using my bluetooth. But it is annoying as it has been sporadic since early version of WM5. I will reload 2003 and see if it persists, if it does then it is a harware issue.

That is zoom SMS feature added to the ROM. If you dont want that goto
settings->personal tab -> phone-->menu-->options-->appriciation S/W and uncheck the SMS Zoom

For clearing the registers/RAM or any volatile part of memory you dont need WM2003 or any other OS. Hard reset is fully capable to do that job..

Pl dont get confused between RAM and RAMDisk. 16MB is the RAMDisk size where as the RAM is same as 128MB. RAMDisk is nothing but a small portion of program memory cutout to be used as a virtual disk for storing data.
it has been reduced from 30MB to 16MB to increase the program memory for comfortably rumming the memory hogging programs like tomtom and others. ones.
Secondly, there were many including me who were facing problems of loss of RAMDisk data while replacing the battery or sim card for the undiscovered resons. thats is also one of the factors for reducing the size of RAMDisk .

That is exactly the point of the original request, the the hard reset does not do anything. After "KITL and Hive...etc" changes, the Dpad does not do anything to initiate hard reset. Pressing Dpad keeps the screen in the same mode, it does not force it to reset

What do you get after you keep pressed the dpad for a while?

Please list all the teps you are doing starting from the mention of what you have on you device before flashing. Pl also indicate what you get after each step.
If your all H/W keys are working fine then Definitely you are missing something important...

I have done ROM flash a guizzillion times in the past 2 years starting with WM5, and it has always been successful without errors and as per the instructions.

Last week, I downloaded WM6.1 and followed the exact same steps that I have been following previously and as per the instructions as well. All worked as plan except when I have to do the file hard reset step, pressing the Dpad that is. Nothing happened.

In the last steps when you press Camera+Record+Reset to get the "Boot Options" and you change the values of KITL ---> No, Hive ---> Yes and Format ---> Yes as per instructions with camera and record buttons and then finally you press Dpad to restart all, nothing at all happens and it remains in the Boot Option mode

What happens to me is after couple of hours my start menu gets corrupted. i,e. all names dissappeard, and every time start menu is pressed the scroll down list gets bigger and bigger with repeated recently opened items.

A screen shot is attached. Anybody got the same problem? Can someone please explain me how to fix this. What I am doing now is making a hard reset and installing the progams again and this is annoying.

Settings->buttons can be used to assign your S/W provided you have shartcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs .

Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its component cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

and i cant save a new contact, or iether it is saved but i cant see it on my contact list., the only means to save new contact is to use my Jeyo program.

my unit is cradled on most of the time on my pc which is running on winXP.


aside from that, your program works perfectly, and i love the FTouchFlo program., it is my first time to flash my unit.

As I guess you have definitely done some shifting of programs from main memory to somewhere else. Or modified the shortcuts. I uggest that you hard reset the device and try to make changes only when you are confident of doing those changes.

2. regarding the saving of new contact I guess that you are saving them on sim card. And the sim contacts are invisible when you press the contact button. try seeing the SIM manager to see the contacts stored on sim.

And let me know if there are any problems.


BTW new ROM based on newer build (19209) is out. You may try that as well if you like..

Which AS version are you using. The WM6 onwards require AS4.5 on your PC.

Hi All,

Since it isn't mentioned on this thread (that I can find) I assume this is a problem I have done, but hopefully someone can explain to me what I can doing wrong.

Flashed my XDA II last night and when I look at the memory it says I have 14.54 storage, 77.23 program (plus the rom drive I presume). As soon as I replicate my diary and contacts into the device (or install any programs) the storage memory free reduces down to zero and I get a warning that this will cause problems (which it does).

Have I done something wrong in the upgrade (twice) or am I doing something else wrong. I have tried installing programs to the storage card and RAM drive, but the same problem happens either way. Please someone help me since this ROM is an excellent piece of work that I would love to support moving forward.

What you will need to do, and even though it is fairly simple I wouldn't advise it as you are new to this, is get a reg editor program for the pocket PC. One should come with the power toys .cab. I am at work and can't tell you what to do, but basically under something like HKLM/Software/Microsoft/.NETCF/ you should find your two options. It is still recognising .NET CF 1 because that is still your default. You need to set .NET CF 2 as your default. From memory, you have to change one of the DWORD values to 1, and the other to 0. It will be the opposite of whatever it is now.
Yes, I and many other people have done this succesful on our phones, but don't blame us if something goes wrong. I have given you enough information though that you can research it and make sure what I said is accurate, and maybe others can provide more information.

PS. You cannot uninstall a .NET CF unless you "cooked" your own rom, which you have not.

What you will need to do, and even though it is fairly simple I wouldn't advise it as you are new to this, is get a reg editor program for the pocket PC. One should come with the power toys .cab. I am at work and can't tell you what to do, but basically under something like HKLM/Software/Microsoft/.NETCF/ you should find your two options. It is still recognising .NET CF 1 because that is still your default. You need to set .NET CF 2 as your default. From memory, you have to change one of the DWORD values to 1, and the other to 0. It will be the opposite of whatever it is now.
Yes, I and many other people have done this succesful on our phones, but don't blame us if something goes wrong. I have given you enough information though that you can research it and make sure what I said is accurate, and maybe others can provide more information.

PS. You cannot uninstall a .NET CF unless you "cooked" your own rom, which you have not.

There is a check box in there for making files on your SD Card encrypted. I have never used it, so I am unaware how to unencrypt an SD Card using it, but I imagine your solution is in there. If it is ticked, perhaps place your encrypted SD Card in there, and when you untick the box, maybe it will work?

I can only suggest you read up on the information on this link. The person here is one of the developers who actually created the program that caused your issue. It seems, like you said, that at some stage the files have been encyrpted, though if you did not tick the encryption box, I cannot explain why. Also, try searching the forum thread, it seems other people here have had your issue, though no resolution seems to have been found yet:

i got the solution to our problem..

coz, i forgot to 'boot load'

heres what i did..

i pressed the cam button+record button+reset button then wait until the boot option appears then this one

(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)

Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES

after that press DPad and wait until OS starts..

and viola!!! wm6.1 professional..

time for testing...

The first ubpgrade I tried from the original OS worked very well.

A subsequent upgrade caused radio and activesynch to fail, and Contacts and Calendar just flash up briefly and disappear....

What am I doing wrong?

Did u follow all the instructions..try hard-resetting by this method

Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.

Select the options as follows:

Format Storage -> YES

When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.

Hello everybody :
This is a question for masters you all that have done many nice roms for our himalayas. I have two himas, and in one of them I can flash any of your rom, however, in the other one, I can only flash wm5, when I try to upgrade to any of wm6, whatever it is (shekar, syed etc) at 95 % the Hima upgrade tool shut down by itself.
I tried with TOF CLOCK WM6 kitchen to cook one rom without any of app, just basic version because I think maybe I have some sectors broken in my Hima, so perhaps there's not room enough for the new wm6 ??? But I've got same, at 95 % upgrading stops.

Hi there.. I'm using this rom about four day right now.. and it looks cool

But there is also some wierd stuff but mabey its only my stupid hardware

For example:
- When I choose to install something on storage card it doesnt work ;p and when I install it on the 'device' than it works ;p (software works)
- Or when I choose to install something on sorage card or 'ram disk' it install itself on the 'device' anyway ;d
- I can't connect to my internet rooter via BT. It semms to see it but it can't see any services so I can't use internet from it.


Is it only my stupid device? Or someone has the same problems?

Hello everybody :
This is a question for masters you all that have done many nice roms for our himalayas. I have one more thing I just learnt :
In failed rom updates, RUULOG file shows at the end :
"15:08:55 Write block243
15:09:26 CE Update data retry 1"

I realized that in successful updates ruulog file shows :
"22:36:47 Write block255
22:36:58 Stage 2 complete"

It seems when flashing wm5, RUU writes all blocks while wm6 doesn't, at least in my device...
Therefore, I have to suppose my device has all its blocks / sectors OK.
Does wm6 write blocks different from wm5 ??

The PDA I have in my hands is a an O2 XDA II modified by Chunghhwa Telecom for use in Taiwan. The CamRecSvs was on the Chinese ROM, but each time I flash using an English ROM, that applet never appears.

I too miss my hima a lot. I could not get that level of addiction from my polaris as I was getting from my Hima. Waiting for some generous man manage to donate it.

I must say the developers here are doinf a great great job.

I had my QTEK 2020 with PPC 2003 for the last many years, and have been thinking about buying a new HTC with WM6.1.

Tried to flash the ROM few months back, but had communication error in Vista.

Fortunately, the Noob's guide to flashing (sticky) made it possible, and I got c_shekhar's ROM on my device yesterday!

Couldn't believe that my QTEK was actually running 6.1 with such speed! And the added functionality, esp landscape view and gmail/yahoo in my inbox, made it a new device!

I have two queries:

1. The phone dialler screen has invisible numerical buttons (for dialling a number). On touching the screen on different places the numbers actually appear, so I reckon its a font color issue.

2. The on-screen keyboard does not have 'shift' and 'caps' keys. Plus it has strange characters on top of the numerical keys. There is no backspace either. So its not possible to enter a website address in IE>

I hope u can guide me on this.

1. Start your device in bootloader mode by pressing and holding down:

DPad + PowerButton + ResetButton

After a second release ResetButton, then release the rest of them.
Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.

2. Place your device in the cradle, ensuring that the cradle
is plugged directly into a USB port on your PC and not to a hub
and that the power supply is connected to the cradle.
It is also a good idea to disable any screensavers on your desktop PC.

Once your device is cradled, the text on the screen will change to "USB".

3. Run HimaUpgradeUt.exe (or HimaUpgradeUt_NoID.exe if flashing on any Himalaya other which is from than O2)

4. Sit back and wait for the Congratulations screen to be displayed
on your PC. Your device will still be displaying 'Upgrading radio stack, please wait',
but as long as the PC says it is done, then its all OK.

5. Detach your device from the cradle.

6. Now you have to hardreset your device.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.

Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
