MicroSD wont read in my tilt

So today I was going to the store and i looked down and bam! 1gb microsd card right in front of me. I reach down and pick it up.. looks pretty good.. nothing visible wrong with it aside from a few little scrapes. Anyways I go to put it in my tilt and I do so when the device's screen is off and it turns the light on but it doesnt read the card.

My questions are
Could it be locked by the device it was used with before? (if thats possible)
and if so am I out of luck?

Put it in to your desktop PC (in a card reader) and format it under Windows, or if you've not got a card reader (or a microSD to SD adapter) you could always use Resco Explorer 2007, on your device, to format it - http://www.resco.net. There's a trial available, but it's a "must have" utility and worth paying for IMO ;)
