View Full Version : Power Button Issue

My power button isn't working correctly somehow. I got a bit of sand in it the other day at the beach, but there doesn't seem to be anything obstructing the contact itself.
When I reset it, I'm given a prompt right away from WM saying it will shut off, as if the power button is being held down.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Get some airdust cleaner and make sure nothing is stuck in there. If this doesn't work flash to another ROM and see if you still have the problem.

Yeah I did both to no avail. My next step is going to be to reload the SPL, but I'm not sure if that will make a difference..?

I don't believe the SPL will have any effect whatsoever. There has to be something obstructing or applying pressure.

I'm thinking that this is true... I suppose I'll have to take it apart

Fixed!
Took it apart and sprayed out whatever micro-sized particle that was in the contact and it's working
For anyone else that comes across this post and who had as much difficulty as I to find directions to the Kaiser disassembly, here's a great PDF (http://rs210.rapidshare.com/files/73519908/Kaiser_Screen_Mod.pdf)

Glad to hear it. Congratulations on the fix.
