Hello,
I've used JumpSPL1.56-KAIS followed by flash-hardSPL to CID unlock my Tilt 8900 (I get the white screen with HardSPL).

My understanding is that I no longer need to CID unlock my device using the above procedure for future ROM's and Radios.

Is that correct?

if the hardspl flash was successful, then no, you should never have to flash it again to change roms. However, it seems as though your hardspl was not successful if you got the white screen. Go here to make sure.

I've read/used that thread because I was getting the white screen with HardSPL, but it sounds like you're telling me that if I can't get past the white screen when flashing HardSPL, then I have to use JumpSPL1.56-KAIS followed by flash-hardSPL every time I flash a new ROM or radio. Does that sound right?

Here's what my bootloader display shows currently:
KAIS1*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8

Thanks

if that is what your bootloader shows, you should be good to go.

Just remember that if you have to flash the original boot loader back that you'll need to use the same jumpSPL program again, not the program referenced in the thread about reverting back.

I just purchased and unlocked a tilt and am now using it on Tmobile. I'm now realizing I need to flash my ROM to avoid spening more hours tweaking with work-arounds. I've gathered enough information on the process, but just want to find out if there's a way to find out if the HardSPL has already been installed by the previous owner. If not, then I will just reload. Just thought I might save a step. Cheers!

Power off your Tilt. Press and hold the camera button while you turn it back on. You will see a tri-color screen with some text. Look for SPL-1.0.OliPof.

If you see that line your Tilt has been unlocked. Anything else it isn't. Soft reset to exit the boot loader.
