I recently bought a GPSSlim 240 device (from Holux). I actually bough two, where one was for my friend.

However, as opposed to my friend, it wont work properly for me. Ive set Holux GPSSlim240 to use COM0, and ive set the GPS-programport as COM1.

However, when using Google Maps, it just says its searching for sattelites, and cant find any. After restarting Google Maps a number of times, and just by trial and error, it some times work! I doubt it has anything to do with reception, as ive been outside under clear skies.

When using TomTom, it wont work at all untill i get a connection with Google Maps.

Is there any settings, or something that may be wrong here? It works great with my friend's HTC S710, but with mine it doesnt! (ive even tried a hard reset!)

Cheers!

Standard settings for TomTom are normally Com5 and Com8.....

Im also using a Holux GPSSlim240, and i've never got it to work using the automatic GPS settings.
I've unticked the box labelled 'Manage GPS Automatically (recommended)', then in the bluetooth com ports, set it to a spare port (com4 on my hermes), and then just set your software to look at that com port.
Never had any problems connecting like this.

you have to uncheck secure connection when you register the bluetooth device and don't use external antenna application for tomtom it works
