I originally replied because I thought he wanted the long press end key. After reading the request carefully, I realized he wants the long press POWER key, which I've only seen natively on the Polaris... This would be a cool CAB to have :D

make a shortcut to whatever program you want, rename it to Long_Power.lnk and put in windows folder ;)

Yep, as hma4 originally pointed out, this works with Long_Power, Short_Power, Long_Send, Short_Send, Long_End, Short_End, etc, etc...

Mayb someone can re-make that app.

Dunno why schaps hasn't released it yet. I've seen it on 2 more non-schaps ROMS :O

he doesnt want to release it for public use. he wanted to keep it exclusive to him rom.

others have been able to crack the process.

Indeed I have been able to crack it, but I will not share how I did it as I suspect that Schaps wants to keep it exclusive for his roms only. If he does not make it public available, I will write a similar app when I find some free time & release it to the community as I believe that it gives some added value to our roms!

If you would like to speed up the process, feel free to donate me something... hehe... :D

I am sorry that I read from that, I thought here we all help to go forward together.

Some people are working on, soon everyone can download this utility.
All for one and one for all, a universal rule of friendship.:D

Well, the files are easy enough to extract. In my experience, the app just won't run by itself. I think it's looking for a registry key.

I'm also not comfortable about hacking an application and releasing it for public use when it's author has clearly stated that he doesn't want it circulating for public use (and wants it used in his ROMs only).

Even I don't like to manipulate the work of others, I reported only what I read around the web.
I asked the author a public version of this utility but my request was ignored as if I had asked who knows what.
I would have liked at least one negative answer just to be correct even if I do not agree.

Now isn't that what we're doing with HTC's OEM Apps? I mean they only want the Kaiser 3G Dialer on Kaiser devices but we're putting it on Hermes (just on example of many)?

Unless it is commercial (for sale) software then I would say it falls in line with every HTC OEM App....

I was referring to the utility made by other members of the forum, it's nice not having to work twice when the person who created the utility in a few minutes can make public (as here not sell anything) taking high reputation for its developer, in addition we are many and many nationalities, some people may have difficulty with a WWE Rom rather than in his own language.

To replace this beautiful app (hope one day Dutty will be friend of Schap's ; ), how can I make a shortcut to shutdown my Kaiser? I've tried several apps (poweroff - installreboot - xpshutdown), and shutdown functions only stand-by screen.
And I don't want to install SPB software or 'heavy apps' just for one function...

Had a look in registry (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power) but don't really know which key is used when I long press the power button.

Thank for any suggestion!!

Me three! This app can really save our usb port from soft reseting our device and accidentally putting the stylus in the usb port. I amoung many tilt user have made this mistake and had to get a refurb unit, which aint bad cus im likin my refurb better than my original. Why would htc release this phone with no kind of protective cover for the usb port? The mini-sd slot on our phones have a protective cover but not the usb port? What sense does that make? Even the damn razor phones have a protective rubber cover on their usb ports, oh well. This is an awesome app that ive used on dcs v1.7
