THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM.. below is the update

I just flashed to No2chems newest rom 5048 (i think)

looks good. when i soft reset the phone immediately goes into a digital roam and only allows my calls to go to BLUE WIRELESS and their default message.. then about 2 minutes later my phone works just fine.. does anybody have any clue why this is happening?

I called sprint to verify the numbers and she told me all my numbers were correct

should my msid and mdn match though? what gives.... im getting frustrated

I tried to go to DCD's 2.1 rom, and im getting the same errors...

why does the phone not allow the calls to go through.. before i roommate had the same issues before.. his MSID/MSL/ESN were all incorrect...
UPDATED

BRAND NEW PHONE>> tried it again..... results were the same..... STRAIGHT TO DIGITAL ROAM ON STARTUP for about 2-5 minutes where i cant make or recieve calls or texts...

this time no need to run the relocker as its a new phone.. so i flashed the unofficial sprint rom, then i ran the unlocker.... then i ran the DCD rom... this is exactly how i did my room mates phone 3 weeks ago.. his never had an issue...

My phone reboots and immediately goes to digital roam and puts me on blue wireless

His phone did the same thing atfirst then went he got the msid put back in and his worked flawlessly... my msid and all those numbers are 100% correct...

Please help me.. after about 3 minutes it goes off and the phone works fine.. the lag is super annoying since i soft reset everyday pretty much... PLEASE HELP ME

same thing happened to me. You need to reset your A-Key. Contact your service provider and get that 26 dig number from them and input it.

Fixed mine

Willybeen

MY msid and mdn are my phone number

my unlock code and msl are the same number

and my esn's are the same as they were prior to the rom

what else could it be.. from what I understand sprint leaves the akey blank... so now what do I do?

Im trying the DCD rom again from the begining.. thats what i did with the room mates and his worked eventually... as for mine

so far, im just getting a "D and a triangle" in the top right corner for about 3-5 minutes before my phone was working.... (and it does this EVERY TIME i soft reset)... any ideas? im soo close to just wanting to throw this phone

i have found with sprint that when i reflash my phone even though the mdn and msid were correct. i wouldnt be able to receive any incoming calls or txt. so ive been going in and changing them to a different number then going back in and changing them back to my phone number. I normally have to wait a little bit for it to go from digital roaming back to the sprint network but it still seems to fix it.

Do you have the right PRl ok this might fix it
But get your MSID and MDN from your phone And backup all your data you want
##786# and do a reset

Quick question, sandiegoguy, and me both have same problem. DO you happen to be in san diego too? I'm just trying to find a reason behind this. Also, try one thing, I changed it from Mobile IP Only to Mobile IP Preferred and the problem went away. I know with our phones it's hit or miss but it might help.

How did you know I live in San Diego?!?

seriously tho, i'm totally pissed off that I can't get a signal for 5 minutes after soft reset with a 3.27 radio rom. if the official release was closer I would be ok with it. but with wm6.1 and gps + rev a, I don't think sprint will release a rom with all the bells and whistles (including stability) of one of the customs floating around.

Anyone from San Diego having issues with 3.27 radio roms?

fyi: I've had the same issue with the radio taking 2-5 minutes to connect. for what it's worth I'm in Salt Lake City...

Forgive my ignorance, but I can't figure out where to try changing to "mobile IP preferred."

dial ##PST# and click edit and enter your MSL. CLick view info on bottom left and clicl M.IP Settings, then highlight MIP_MODE, click Menu on bottom right then edit. Change value then click OK. Then hit Menu, OK and it should ask you if you are sure you want to change the settings then it will soft reset. It worked for me but I cant promise you anything.

Got to ask if you changed your Mobile IP Settings. It seemed to have worked for me, I just want to see if it was a fluke.

thank you, unfortunately it didn't seem to work for me as it is still taking a few minutes to connect. oh well, it was worth a shot.

For the person who told me to get a new phone from sprint, i did, and tried to reflash it again... same issue....

My room mate however just picked up a mogul.. coming off a katana.. and his flashed flawlessly :(

Why cant i get mine to work...

Maybe when the official rom comes out, Somebody will cook a rom off of it, and maybe then it will work for me.

I'm thinking of taking mine back as well. when they ask me what's wrong i'll tell them that i can't get the 3.27 radio to work with it. Actually, if someone has the 2.16 officially pulled rom, i can install that and my dpad won't work.

:)

holy crap, mine works now! It connects before it has even fully booted up.

All I did was change back to "mobile IP only" since it didn't work when I changed it to "mobile IP preferred."

I'm using DCD 2.3.1, but a month or so ago I used 2.6 and it still had the same problem, so I think (as others have mentioned) that it's the radio and not the rom.

Hopefully it works for you too, maybe I was just lucky. Just to clarify, I changed it to "mobile IP only" yesterday and that didn't work. Today I changed it back to "mobile IP preferred" and it immediately connects everytime I soft reset now.

Changed to mobileip prefferred, soft reset, no luck.
changed back to mobileip only... still no luck.

Boohoo...
No luck. I suck.
I think there may be something with a few Titans that may be interfering with a successful rom upgrade. MAybe that's why Sprint/HTC is taking so long with the official ROM.

IT WORKED!!!!!!!
I just readjusted the Mobile IP setting to mobileip preferred AND adjusted the MIP registration retry to 1000MS from the standard 2500MS.

IT WORKS PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!:):):):)
Multiple resets and it catches a signal almost instantly!!!

Step by step solution posted HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1944961&postcount=1)

MSID and MDN number should be diffrent from each orther. MSID is your phone number and mdn is number provided by carrier.

Sometimes they are different sometimes they are the same depending on whether or not the phone was bought on a new line of service complete with a phone number. If the phone was added, or number ported the numbers will be different. Sprint techs sometimes think my phone number is my MDN, it's so sad.

Went back to 2.17
Although I finally got the radio antenna to grab a signal on soft reset, the rom was very flaky on my phone. browsing the net on PIE was abhorrent- constant disconnects and hangs. GPS worked well. I had to go back to the 2.17 rom to keep my sanity.

Shuckypucks.
