in battery status, go to options->Traylaunch and check off the traylaunch item.
and put the speed dial plugin in ultimate launch
it should be:
rl today
ultimate launch
battery status

Hey everyone, I installed the cab, but my left over design isn't as nice :(. The home screen still shows 100% the normal home, and clicking weather NOTHING comes up. I still have teh scroll bar on the right side that's about 1 pixel from not showing ... I don't know :(.

EDIT!: Got it working, after some more fooling around... but one question ... What do the two middle buttons do? They both open fileexplorer for me... What should they do and how can you change them if you want? Thanks! :D Kent.

That's cause it's still attached to one of your UltimateLaunch tabs, i am trying to figure out myself how to change that. Here's something you can do put your finger on ULtimateLaunch and hold it until one of those Copy like menus show up then select settings, and try your luck.

its working now, but not well, missing the bottom 2 bars, under the weather. The weather is not pulling any info from that tab. It will only if I use home tab, and set to weather only. Can seem to figure out how to add apps properly. Looks great if you can get it working I just cant.

This is a single .CAB installer that i've been working on.

This does all the work but you may still need to enable the specific theme you want in the respective program (Ultimate Launch. BatteryStatus, and rlToday).

Remember the today items are ordered like this:

rlToday
Ultimate Launch
BatteryStatus
(AND THAT IS IT. EVERYTHING ELSE SHOULD NOT BE ENABLED TO BE SHOWN ON THE TODAY SCREEN.)

for Aurora..

Also, tap and hold batterystatus on the today screen and make sure that you only have messages and possibly buttons enabled to be shown in the plugin.

SOFT RESET after installation, soft-reset after making changes to today items, soft reset til everything is displaying properly. :D I included a Soft-Reset program for you in the /Accessories folder.

Test it and let me know how it goes for you, if all is well i'l do the manilla also.

Aurora is amazing man... But only for QVGA devices? And Manilla is QVGA or VGA too?

that's because you need to wait an hour or so before you download another file from rapidshare, they limit bandwidth for free users.

in setting-> today make sure it follows as:
rlToday
Ultimate Launch
BatteryStatus

and in the options of batterystatus make sure traylaunch isnt checked.

all today plugins should be installed on your device not storage card, you will run into problems if you run them off of your storage card

The cab was probably made in a haste. Had to hard reset after install, it freezes my Kaiser. Probably because battery status was already installed. I'm using PDAVIET v09.

I installed the .cab the other night. It took all night and several soft resets to get it to take. This was due to a bug in battery status, see below:
(yes, all the programs needed are included in the .cab).

Some issues I have found:
1. When you hold down the stylus to get the battery status checklist, the font is invisible so you basically have to guess which options to tick off the list. Takes quite a bit of time. I have tried reinstalling battery status and still currently experience the same problem.

2. As someone else mentioned earlier the center 2 black buttons are both mapped to file explorer (even in version 2).

3. Version 2; The two rows of buttons are now separate as per your message, however, the top row is clipped about 3 pixels, causing the top part of the clear buttons to not display.

4. The button that links to PocketCM has a broken link. I get an error stating PocketCM cannot be opened. PocketCM works fine when I launch it from the programs folder of the start menu.

Analog clock looks great!

Question: Where are the multicolored .tsk backgrounds located to install/download. I have been looking everywhere. . . .

Hi,
By far the best theme I have ever had.
No problems with cab instalation, just followed the directions in first post and that's it.

I found a program called "TdySchemeChanger" to change the color taskbar to match the theme, but I know there is another one that usually comes with cooked roms, that I think is better, can someone tell me the name of it?

just another request, I really like pitch black theme, but cant find a download location?

Guys I need a bit of help with the final stages of this. I've been through this thread so many times but cannot find what I need.

I'm left with a similar situation to others:

1) PocketCM error
2) Blank Weather tab
3) Apps tab only contains Ultimate Launch Icon
4) Phone tab contains Voicemail and 411 connect options

Am I right in thinking that if the .cab file installed correctly these tab issues should have populated as default, or is it down to me to tweak these in Ultimate Launch?

If I need to tweak, I'm struggling most with the weather tab and I need some help adjusting the HTC Home plugin show that it only shows the weather.

Also, I understand how to add additional apps but I can't find any .ico files to display in the tab.

Can someone talk me through or supply screen shots of what each of the four tabs should be defaulting to or how they are adjusted?

I understand another cab is on the way, is it to fix these issues?

If I want to completely uninstall to use the updated cab, which files/programs do I remove??

with htc home configurator installed go to settings, personal, today and there should be a htc home tab where you can deselect all except weather.

i thinkits up to you to supply your icons and populate the apps tab, theres threads here with hundreds of ico's in one package so thats what i used, has icons for everything

1. you have to go into the batterystatus folder that contains the htc home xml or htc clear xml if youre using the transparent buttons. change the path under LG buttons section where you see pocketcm located to this <Item class="space" ontap="StartApp" path="\Program Files\PocketCM\PocketCM.exe">.
2. There's a few fixes listed. mainly just make sure htc home only has the weather tab enabled. also, i would enable it by itself just to make sure all is ok with htc home.

Major problems...I've simply installed the cab and my phone is stuck! It switches on and locks on a Activesync window with SIM inserted or on the phone message saying I've removed my SIM if I do it. Seems like I can't do anything...what to do? I can't loose all my appointments with a HR:(

Thanks Guys!! I got it to work. It should be edited in the first post how to uncheck the items in battery status. It seems a lot of people were having the same problem too. Remember there is "messages" in Star ->Settings -> personal -> Today ->Items. It's kind of confusing.

Is there a way to get everything working without being with the cab file?

I have rltoday, ultimatelauncher and batterystatus installed, but after running the cab, they all go mad (ultimatelauncher.exe is substituted by a 2kb file). rltoday also doesn't do anything, so I am left with a empty today screen.
Except rltoday, both UL and Batterystatus today plugins disappear, so I cannot select them.

Well guys, I've installed this on 3 devices and they have all worked. After flashing many ROMS. I'm not sure what the problem is as far as it sometimes working and sometimes not working. My phone is unlocked. So thats not why I am getting a not a valid application with the dcinobar. I have tried 3 times to get it working, no dice. But I do see I am not alone in this.

You have to register ultimate launcher to make that go away.

UltimateLaunch has not been activated. It is nagware. Go to the UltimateLaunch config and on the last tab there is an activation code you need to confirm to remove the "not activated" message.

I also have a Kaiser. The first cab u made for the Aurora skin worked perfect. But the last one, the final cab, it doesn't work. I'm running on Dutty's latest ROM.
After the installation of the final cab, after the reboot, the first thing that pops up is the "dciNobar is not a valid pocket pc application" message. dciNobar was working before that just beautifully when it came with the first Aurora cab, but now it's not working. Next thing is, that when you go to the settings/personal/today/ items ... there's only rltoday, no ultimatelaunch, and no batterystatus.
the rltoday isn't working either... u enable...but it doesn't show on the today screen. it's just an empty space on the upper part of the screen where the rltoday is supposed to display.

The rltoday ini settings file is also messed up. I tried to open it with notepad it said it's too big and opened it with pocketword instead... and it was all wierd symbols all over. maybe if you can upload the proper rltoday ini file we can fix it.

Well dammit. I got the abovementioned errors on my Hermes; when I uninstalled the CAB I got a "this didn't uninstall everything....remove from list anyway?" message.

Then when I soft reset I can't see HTC home. I have reenabled it in today setup and soft reset, still nothing.

My fault for installing a "not so final" CAB! :rolleyes:

I get rltoday to run, but with a strange clock (not the manila clock), the number of missed calls, emails and messages is allways 0 and is strange (it does show up small 0's there), and I have a bar on my screen.

Do I have to take out all the options in Battery status, and leave only the skin?

That's cause it's still attached to one of your UltimateLaunch tabs, i am trying to figure out myself how to change that. Here's something you can do put your finger on ULtimateLaunch and hold it until one of those Copy like menus show up then select settings, and try your luck.

Okay I went to a site. http://weather.not2advanced.com/files/ and downloaded the htc home plugin from there by schen without the brightness patch, restarted phone, went to the Today options without the customizer an saw an extra tab for enabling and disabling the tabs. After that it worked and was able to update. I added the customizer after anyways so to make customizations as they come up.

I still need to find a way to copy the aurora files to the windows directory on the phone.

look for calplus and taskplus. theyre both freeware. then you can add them as today plugins in ultimatelaunch. the built in task and calendar arent recognized as plugins by UL.

Yup, cab bricked my phone 3 times, same thing:
Today screen is blank after install, there is no UL or batterystatus today items in settings, and setting rlToday to today freezes up the phone, can't even get to start menu.

Question. When ever the USB is plugged in. The frame changed to scrollable, and LG icons hidden away. Anyway to fix it so if I to take a snap shot of my screen, to show full screen.

How Do I choose "HTC Home" as the Theme. On the Setting->today
first tab is appearance and I dont see HTC home there, I have chosen Aurora.jpg as the background and "windows mobile green" as theme. On the second Tab "Items" I have checked "HTC Home" "Ultimate Launch" and Battery status" I dont see "Rltoday" there on "HTC Home" Tab I have checked "weather", I have installed everything according to instructions still No clock shows up and and most of them except weather is blank. You can either change the size of the clock or reduce the frame for UltimateLaunch.

Don't let anyone discourage you about this theme! This is by far the best theme i have seen for the PPC and it was the ONLY theme to ever make me switch from the regular boring today screen. Spence you rock!!

one other question what do we use for weather..mine says dll not found?You'll have to fix that in ultimatelauncher.ini (or whatever the filename is). Default should be set to HTC Home, but I have mine pointed to WeatherPanel (since that's what I have installed and prefer).

If you're going to use HTC Home for weather, you'll have to configure your HTC Home to show ONLY the weather tab. I recommend using HTC Home Customizer for that, to make sure everything goes the way it should.

1. You need to buy ultimate launcher or get an activation code "some how" :)

2. I am looking for this solution as well. The buttons light up but it doesnt show the counts as the screenshot in the first post show. Anyone knows how to get this to work. It never worked for me but it does light up

3. You need to edit .xml file within the batterystatus folder. Open it with notepad on your computer and edit. For example if you want to change the calendar to file explorer search (Ctrl F) for calendar and replace it with fexplore. Like this you can give any path for your different programs

And when I try to change the Phone Tab in Ultimate Launcher by selecting Phone->change->new, It doesnot give me option to choose entry from contacts but has only "shortcuts...." and "Today-plugin" to select. I cant add people like I used to, with HTC home. Is it possible at all to add contacts?

One more question, I tried using rlToday skin from Mateotti, Have you tried that? It just did not work for me. clock appeared but the Numeric time overlapped the date part and sms, call counts were little off screen.

Is it possible at all to add contacts?I don't use the testtoday.cab anymore, I point "Phone" to HTC Home and through HHC, I disable all tabs except for contacts. I use WeatherPanel for my weather. All of this you'll have to edit in your ultimatelaunch .ini file.

One more question, I tried using rlToday skin from Mateotti, Have you tried that? It just did not work for me. clock appeared but the Numeric time overlapped the date part and sms, call counts were little off screen.I had to edit the skin file and resize the fonts, however it should not be overwriting what yours is, since rltoday is/should be the first plugin, which is supposed to place it above UL and BS.

installation instructions for manila theme:

1. install batterystatus and put htc clear folder and htc clear xml file in your batterystatus folder and set it as your theme.

Installation instructions for aurora theme:

1. install BatteryStatusExt.1.04.UPXed.build_0270.CAB and put the htc home.xml and the htchomeskin folder in your batterystatus folder in the windows directory. select htc home as your theme and untick every row except for the "messages" row

2. install rltoday.cab and put the s2u2 folder in your program files/rltoday folder and replace the rltoday.ini with the one i provided.

3. place all 3 htc home files in your windows directory to overwrite the old ones

4. install testtodayplugin.cab (photo speed dial)

5. put dcinobar.exe in your windows directory and make a shortcut for it in your \windows\startup folder

6. put the aurora.jpg on your device set it as your today background.

7. finally, install ultimate launch via the setup.exe and replace the ultimatelaunch.ini with mine.

I had your problem and all I did was increasing the width of the UL plugin. I think should consider changing 1 point at a time to prevent scroll bar from appearing.

Use the built-in picture/video viewer and then set as b/g. There'll be an option for transparency, set it to 0.

Select "Pictures and videos" program and select the image there and from menu options choose "set as background" it should bring up a screen where you can make transparency as 0%

When I increase the heigh of UL of one pixel, the bar appears. I don't understand why is there this space! It is the same for both battery status Aurora theme.

Resize the icon pics, make them smaller, then they should fit. The trade-off, of course, is that now the icons will be smaller so you run the risk of tapping the wrong icon if you've got fat fingers. :)

No i read all the Pages. And yes some people say there are problems with the batterystatus.cab in the aurora.zip, but they don't say that you must hard reset your device after installing it :(

for the soft keys i use a program called dcinobar.exe and for the tray icons you have to delete the corresponding programs in your windows\startup folder.

Looks like im gonna have to do a step by step on how to do this since there are so many programs involved. I will update the first post as soon as i can.

any chance you can repost the htc home files? i still cannot view it. If i extract it to my desktop, the 3rd file is not there. I cannot check to see if its read only. also I can view the other two files in resco explorer. but the 3rd cannot be view nor extracted anywhere.

You Cant see it Because one file is hidden....If you extract it in Desktop make sure that you have Marked Show Hidden Files & Folders...& if you want to see it in HTC just make sure you have selected show all files in menu....

dont use htc home for photo speed dial, if you install testtodayplugin.cab that i provided you will have a photo speed dial, look at the one in my 2nd picture in the first post

No, the skins would have to be edited for each program



it is not a theme for your pocket pc device in the settings - today tab. when you but the htchome.xml and htchomeskin folder in the batterystatus folder, open up the batterystatus program from your programs folder and then go to the advanced tab to select your skin file there.

also when you copy your 3 files make sure htchome is not active either on your home screen or ultimatelaunch otherwise it will not give you permission to overwrite them.

I have read most of the pages. I dont think anybody has experieced this problem. Everything works fine, but I cannot completely get rid of the windows softkey bar on the today screen. I have dcinobar.exe in the windows folder and dcinobar.lnk in the windows/startup folder. The softkeys disappear but it is replaced by a black bar and when I open and close an application the softkeys of that application gets stuck on to the black bar until I open another application when it changes.

Anyone noticed this? Any fixes. I tried soft resetting several times. No luck. Thanks

I flashed my ROM with the new UDK diamond R4. Since then I have this problem which I never had before. Did u find out any solution for this. I tried changing the height of the UL plugin. No luck. If you found any solution please let me know. Thanks

sweet, I install battery status, and my phone won't boot, thanks for the hard reset, lol, (don't take this the wrong way, I know it works for most, just thought I would add this post to remind people that all things are on an "at your own risk basis" and some things won't work well for you)

I am using no2chems preview 7, I am pretty sure it is a compatibility issue with this rom, as alot of things won't run on this rom.

Final .CAB installer.

1. Disable all today plugins.
2. Install .CAB file
3.Soft reset phone.
4. Enable rltoday, ultimate launch, and batterystatus
5. Soft reset and then play with the settings.

This .cab pre selects the skin files in the plugins for you... it also includes themes and RC mod for changing bar colors.

Just tried it out on my HTC Hermes and it works like a charm.... Only thing is that the background didn't apply and that I have the separator bars still ( so I can't put the bar to the bottom...... but not a big problem :) )

The only notable issue I had was that shortly after I installed the theme and fixed it all up..... my phone froze up. though after I pulled out the battery it worked just fine. :)

If anyone knows how to get rid of that bottom bar please do tell....I'd like the batterystatus icons at the bottom ;)

First of all thanks spence, this is a great theme.
I have a minor problem with rltoday. The theme works perfect with default settings however if I try to change my rltoday skin then this weird 88:88 clock comes in front of the real clock and some other icons. (you need to take a close look at the attached picture, it is more obvious on the device itself)

I couldn't figure our what this 88:88 is, can anyone tell me how to get rid of it ?

in fact for bs the only theme options i get are "htc clear" and "htc home"

in rl today the skin options i get are "default" and "s2u2"

ive soft reset'd about 9 times and still..nada

so after messing with this for about 50 min.. i can honestly say..its a fluek.. and wasnt meant to be for my ppc

i found a solution in other forum it's a incompatibility issue with newests shells

you have to replace the shell32.exe in windows dir with a older one build 19214 tested and workin on my polaris.
