I LOVE IT! I used to live in STL, and loved going to games with my friends. They had seats behind the visitors goal, no more than 10 rows up. I would usually be the only one with a Wings jersey on. (I know...the game in the pic is at The Joe) I hope that they keep the wins coming! Go Wings.

So that picture was taken by your titan and uploaded while you were at the game right? :) Man I miss hockey. NASCAR has started and that is about all the time I get to watch any sports.

Yea, i have done all of that. The thing i guess im wondering is if the MMS in 2.3 is different than the one in the 2.2.0 rom? If so can i fins a cab or something to replace it back to the other one?

I recooked this morning - using Verizon specific MMS from the kitchen - and MMS works going out and coming in for me.

Thanks for the wonderful ROMS dcd. I cooked my rom based on your kitchen, calling works, GPS works and Wifi works but internet is furbared. If I disable wifi, and state PIE, the IOTA flashes a message "Preparing Sprint vision services please wait and then gives up and flashes an error code after some time." and the gives up after a few minutes. Am I doing something wrong ?:( Any help would be appreciated.

So has anyone figured out how to turn off the "Sending MMS" and "Receiving MMS" messages? I was able to turn off the "MMS Sent" and "MMS Downloaded" messages, but I can't stop the first popup that occurs.

Something is definitely using up the battery or the new change to report single point percentages is way off. I used to get two days usage and now get only one day. Maybe instead of getting more memory freed up we can get a phone battery that lasts forever. :)

This has been happening to me as well. If I go to Settings > Personal > Phone > Services tab > Internet > Get Settings > Start, I get the "Preparing Vision services, please wait mesage, followed by an error message. ("Error Code 1012. Could not prepare Vision services")

However, despite the error, I've been able to get on the web, receive email, etc using Sprint unlimited data plan. So I'm not sure what the IOTA error means or how it's affecting me. Anyone know?

Despite these little things, it's much better firmware than the official ROM. Thanks for the great work, DCD, OliPro, and others!

Can someone tell me if dcd's ROM can be upgraded from a previous version without manually reinstalling apps? I installed 2.1.0 from the stock ROM and reinstalled everything. Do I have to do that again each time I upgrade the dcd version? I'm hoping I can run SPB Backup now, flash to 2.3.2, and do a restore. Will that work?

i wouldn't recommend using a backup with different roms even if the roms are bassed of the same.

what i would do is find the OEM packages for the apps you us. put them in the kicthen and cook it in to the roms.

i have everything i want in the kitchen.... apps, regedits, settings. i flash a new rom and dont have to do anything once it boots. read read and read. i learn all this in just a couple of days.

good luck, cody

Is it possible to have all of my selected friends in the PPL tab of HTC Home like this?

Thanks for the help. I also got some help from codyppc. really appreciate the support. Looks like i was clicking on RUN to install the C++ file from the link and it wasn't doing an install although I thought it was. (Just like you said, lol) so i actually googled the file name that was in the ERROR message I kept getting and then installed it on my PC from that site. Then everything worked fine. Thanks again... :)

If i were you i would delete all the dcd kithcen stuff you already downloaded. Start fresh. Re dounload C++ install it. Download the dcd_titan_kitchen_2.3.2.rar. Un-rar it into a folder. Inside that folder just run the buildnb. Follow the command promt instructions. Hope this helps

if a guy was interested in trying this bootloader, radio and rom on a vogue (touch) what would be the chance it would work. From what I have read, the chipset is the same, and pretty much the only differences I have found are the keyboard, wifi, and program memory. vogues have succesfully run off titan radio's, and titans can run on vogue radios, is there anything special about a bootloader that might be too different between the vogue and the titan for this to work on a vogue?

Is there a problem with hard-resetting and this 2.3.1 rom the kitchen put on my phone?I just had to do the whole a-key thing with verizon again after I was forced to hard reset due to excessive hanging/crashing/slow perf. Upon hard reset I had to wait 20 mins for signal, finally enter a-key with verizon on the phone, it reboots, the phone works now but there is no saved a-key. I'd like to upgrade to a less buggy rom but is 2.32 any better, and will I have to go thru this again?

Hello All -

I have a Alltel PPC 6800 flashed to the Current ROM 2.3.2 using the Kitchen (Awesome Code!).
When I configure my Titan for Exchange Activesync 007 SP1, the message does not leave the Outbox and is sent over and over. I have reports of people receiving the same message over and over.

Also, there is a "Blank" activesync window that appears with a sync event.

I saw posts about SMS not leaving the phones. Is this issue related?

-Thanks!

the repeating messages, and other activesync issues, are due to radio 3.27.00 bugs. the alternative is to sacrafice gps and rev A and use the old rom/radio.

DCD knows more about this stuff than I do, but I gotta say I'm using my xv6800 w/ 3.27 and ActiveSync w/ Exchange 2003 w/o issue. I realize there are some variances, but I'm not convinced that the radio is all that bad.

Check my posts for the order I did my upgrade.

Again, anyone know the registry setting to turn off the MMS notifications? It's so annoying... I've tried everything that looks normal but it doesn't work. Secondly, does anyone know of a way to assign different ringtones to categories of people instead of individual people?

I have found if i view the messages in the outbox, as soon as I close the view window, the message is gone from the outbox.

If you do not view the message, it stays in the outbox and gets sent every time you sync to the Exchange Server.

i flashed the NexVision's Hybrid rom for Sprint and my GPS doesn't work. When i'm in Google Maps it just says "Seeking GPS satellites (0)" and will for like 20 minutes until I just quit. Is there something I have to do to activate GPS?

Also, Quickmenu didn't install, or isn't active. Is there a way to activate it?

Thanks!

In the Active Sync | Schedule settings make sure the checkbox is checked for "Send/receive when I click Send". I haven't had any problems with any of DCD's Roms with Exchange. I use the direct push. If you don't then it could be sending only when Active Sync runs again.

I used the prepackaged Alltel 2.3.2 rom and upgraded the radio software as well. The only issue I seem to be experiencing is that my internet connection from the phone can't connect with Ev, it always switches to 1X and I get terrible bandwidth at that point. I've tried to read as much of this thread as I could to find an answer or at least someone else pointing out the same problem, but I haven't found anything.

Anyone have any suggestions? Other than that, the upgrade seems to be working great. The phone is a lot more responsive than before, memory issues have cleared up, ActiveSync is working fine, GPS too.

Update: The phone shows the Ev symbol with the cell signal strength to its right. When I do something that requires an internet connection, the antenna symbol changes to a left/right arrow symbol above the 5 white bars. It sits there for about 10 seconds, then the Ev changes to 1X and slowly but surely the data begins to flow, but it's -extremely- slow. Before this upgrade I was getting an internet connection with the Ev symbol present, I was getting upwards of 1.3mbps through the phone.

your evdo cant authenticate, you need to reprogram your data settings. not sure if alltel has a *288 option, you might need to call CS.

There's a *228 feature that provides the option to update roaming or activate your phone, both of which I've tried but didn't seem to help. My only concern with calling customer service is that they're going to give me grief for messing with the phone in the first place.

UPDATE: I called Alltel customer service, their tech told me that the authentication for 1X and evdo on their network is the same. He had me try plugging in the username/password information (which he said doesn't actually have to be there) but no change. The strange thing is that someone else in my office did this upgrade successfully, the only difference being that when he first upgraded the phone, he did the radio first and then the rom, whereas I did the rom and then the radio. His is working as it should, though.

I also thought about trying to "start over" if you will, and since the phone is already unlocked, I thought I'd try running the radio updater again, but at this point that won't run properly (possibly because the software is already updated?). I can keep installing the rom, but so far no combination of options in the kitchen version or the prepackaged alltel help the data connection work any better, still has the 1X connection option.

Good morning DCD. Thanks for all your hard work in compiling ROMS for the Titan! I was a newbie about two weeks ago, and have learned a lot from the XDA website as well as the PPCgeeks forums. I was wondering if you could refer me to a thread or location where I can learn how to take the kitchen you have created, 2.3.2, and add-in pieces from no2chems 5051 basekit. Probably, like others, I appreciate all the latest greatest for my phone, and have been unsuccessful in integrating these couple of pieces. Any ideas or threads would be great. Perhaps your working on that integration yourself?
Thanks in advance!

you should be able to simply replace SYS and OEM with his. this would still use my XIP, i am not sure if no2chem includes an XIP in his basekit. but the last i looked, our XIPs are very very close and probably will make no difference. we both use the same boot.rgu.

Just to clarify dcd,

Would I replace the entire OEM and SYS folder in your kitchen with his, or just merge contents? I'm still trying to learn/figure out what causes the stop errors in the building function.

And yes, he did update the XIP file. It made a complete change in the paging file on the mogul, and the OS is amazingly fast. Sounds like I need to replace the xip file as well.

Any specific help you can offer would be appreicated.

Kind of surprising as I have only needed to do the *228 option 1 and 2 since updating the Radio Rom. I just got a replacement phone and did the Radio and then DCDs ROM and only had to do the *228 programming. I would suggest that any new people upload the Radio Rom first then DCD's ROM. I have had the best success with that route.

I called Alltel customer service back and asked them about the mobile ip profile settings. The data support rep checked what he could and even watched the phone hit one of their towers to connect to the Internet and said everything looked good on his side. He even went as far as to have me plug in my username/password in the connection settings (username was 10 digit phone number @alltel.net and password was alltel). Nothing seems to have helped. I'm connected to the Internet right now, but at 1X which is all but unusable.

He went on to tell me that there was nothing else he or anything else there could do for me since I'd changed the software and his suggestion was for me to install the original rom from HTC's web site, so a lot of help he was.

Thx for the reply. I actually had the 3.27 and dcd beta 2 rom for a month or so, got past the intial a-key set up etc. Reflashed with the 2.3.1 kitchen, all worked as well. Then last week the phone started bugging out despite many soft resets..so i hard reset it...still 3.27 and 2.3.1, but no signal...wait 20 mins call verizon, enter akey, now it's working, but the a-key is erased...nutty.

I did hear from Verizon that there might be a bug in the phone that when you do a hard reset it needs an AKey but this last time when I put on the new phone the unlocker|boot, Radio, and DCD's Rom I didn't need an AKey even though I asked for one. The Verizon rep just had me do a *228 option 1 again even though I did it already. Don't know why there is a difference now. I have uploaded several DCD's Rom since and only need to use *228.

you would replace the entire folder, although depending what youre moving around parts of each could probably be "merged". honestly, dont take this the wrong way, but theres no way i can start supporting other peoples basekits in my kitchen. maybe in the future i will change the kitchen to take any rom and dump it as a base like dogguys kitchen.

my suggestion would be to manually browse thru all of the folders and files in each and learn the structure of what everything is before moving stuff around. i will help all i can with specific questions if you want to swap stuff around, but my kitchen was really intended to be used as packaged.

familiarize yourself with the different components of lots of different kitchens and look thru files and folders and you will start to see what is what...

Stupid question but did you change the default Sprint to Verizon in the BuildOS screen. Also you might try just doing that only and taking the defaults and try that ROM to make sure there isn't an OEM that is affecting the phone. The beauty of the phone is that you can upload another ROM and test it and then upload another. :) I am looking forward to a new Radio ROM though as this one is really flaky with the EVDO connection and downloading on the internet. Haven't had any problems with text messages or phone calls though.

the ROM folder is essentially the XIP. its really contained in os.nb.payload, but i'd replace the entire ROM folder, if he provided it.

I've been messing around with this for most of the day and I still can't figure out what I've done wrong. I have a coworker with an identical phone (HTC PPC6800 through Alltel) and his phone is working flawlessly after doing this upgrade. The only problem mine is having is that the internet won't connect with evdo, only with the 1X speed, which is horrible.

I've reflashed the phone several times with no luck. I even relocked the phone and installed the stock rom from HTC and that even downgraded the radio, and now the phone still won't connect with evdo.

Ack!

the programming is not correct. 3 of you have this issue right now, alltel support needs to fix the programming on your devices.

I'm having the issue on Sprint... I called earlier in the week and spoke to support... They walked me through clearing cookies and stuff

Think I should give them a call and press to talk to a higher tier support? I've tried this on pretty much all radios and seem to be getting the same thing...

Thanks in advance!

my basekit is unlikely to work with _any_ kitchen and _most_ tools in their current stage - in short, nbmerge will crash unless you know how to fix the partition tables....

if you don't use my xip, and use dcd's, it will work, you'll need to insert gwes, shell32 and connmgr back into \sys\os and \sys\shell respectively.

hmm, thanks for the clarification. what have you done with gwes, shell32, and connmgr?

also dishe told me you have no problem moving nk.exe in xip space?! i must be missing something, is there another step other than mreloc_nk and modifying imageinfo.txt ?

I was having data authentication issues and here's what I did to resolve it:

I flashed back to the stock VZW ROM (third time I think), I made sure all of my provisioning issues with Verizon were worked out (finally had the tech "kick the switch").
1) Then I proceeded to load the 2.4 bootloader,
2) then the 3.16 Unauthorized Sprint ROM w/ radio,
3) then finally installed a cooked DCD 2.3.2 ROM.

Things to note:
1) I never let the Sprint ROM boot up
2) I had no signal so ran *22802 then hit End as soon as it connected
3) Still no signal after reboot
4) No A key, MSID, or MDN issues, but I did re-enter the MSID and MDN as discussed in other threads
5) After re-entering MSID and MDN then after reboot I had signal
6) never had to run *228 to OTA program (in the past programming with *228 has reversed the effect of re-entering the MSID and MDN)

In general, I feel that the OTA from VZW sends down some programming that conflicts with the 3.27 radio...but I have nothing to prove that.

GPS is running great (I just loaded the AstroGPSLauncher)
Not sure about Rev A. It does seem snappy. What's a good site to test from the phone?

I'm happy and not re-flashing until a solid radio for Verizon arrives.

er, yeah thats about it, ... well, and being sure to adjust the romhdr according to the map.... (you don't want to move regions 1 and 2 to BEFORE where ram starts)... i moved gwes, shell32 and connmgr to xip... figured they were always loaded so putting them in xip should get them loaded faster at boot without having to deal with imgfs paging, at first i was skeptical but after running some tests it does indeed seem faster...

Make sure your PRL is NOT 30008. You need 30029 or 30031 for EV to work correctly.

In the Active Sync | Schedule settings make sure the checkbox is checked for "Send/receive when I click Send". I haven't had any problems with any of DCD's Roms with Exchange. I use the direct push. If you don't then it could be sending only when Active Sync runs again.

It is checked. Thansk for your help.

I have re-flashed the phone with the minimum apps, and the problem persists.

Is there a hotfix for Exchange 2007 SP1?

No EVDO Data (MIP failure) - When connecting to a data session, the device will fail MIP authentication and fall back to SIP (1x). This will cause slower data speeds and will not allow programs such as Office Sync (that use MIP exclusively) to function properly.

Until this can be resolved in the software, a user or rep can perform the following sequence to resolve the issue manually:

From the Phone Menu, dial ##778, then press TALK.
Choose EDIT and use the unlock code: 000000. Press the OK soft key (bottom left)
Click on VIEW INFO and choose SECURITY from the drop down list.
On the second line titled "HDR AN AUTH Password," highlight the information under setting, then press MENU (right soft key) and choose EDIT from the list.

Enter the HEX ESN from the device. Note: the HEX ESN is listed on the box and is 8 alpha-numeric characters. It will usually read something like 366Fxxxx (where x = alphanumeric characters 0 - 1 or A - F). Be sure to use CAPITAL letters when entering the ESN. Press OK (left soft key).

Press MENU (right soft key) and select OK from the list. A window will appear with the message "Press ok to reset the device." Tap on the OK button in the new window (middle of screen, lower left of window).

The device will reset and the issue should be fixed.

Also verify you have PRL 30029 or 30031.

DCD,
I was wondering if possible u might be able to add a cricket "dcd_carrier_cricket" option to your list of carriers. Us cricket users are becoming a silent majority, and would luv to have a cricket UC to choose from when installing your rom. I have a been giving a "UC custom cricket folder" with the files i believe u would need.
there is 1 thing i noticed, and that is there r no epst.epst / EPSTLab.exe etc files in the UC cricket folder i have. All your other UC carrier folder have at least 1 copy epst.epst and ESPT.exe i believe. So i was wondering if we could just take a copy of the espt.espt from 1 of the other carriers folder and just put it in the cricket 1.
I believe Vetvito might have a cricket UC custom OEM folder that we could use, but i havent got around to asking him if he does.

So basically this is just a request, so if u can, thats awsome and if u cant, u still rock bro, thanks for your time.

by the way heres my cricket plan:
1)no contract or early cancellation fee
2)unlimted minutes
3)unlimted long distance
4)unlimted sms
5)unlimted mms
6)500 roaming min
7) unlimited web
8)unlimited evdo
9) caller id / voicemail / call waiting

for a whopping $55 a month, no other carrier comes close to that price.

It might have added the server settings so ill check to let u know. But if u get a chance to talk with vetvito, he will be able to give u all the settings and reg info if needed.
i will try and pm him to get the info so u wont have to, but i will be in and out all day today so i might not be able to get that to u right away.

Re-read the directions VERY CAREFULLY in the first post of this thread. You have the wrong bootloader (unlocker).

DCD, you need to edit that first post of yours to add this since people don't seem to get it unless it's in big bold print repeated over and over.

anyone getting problems with wifi? mine worked fine with 2.2.6, but since upgrading to the 2.3.x versions its given me problems. sometimes it connects to my network for a few minutes then it just stops, i see the one antenna displayed on the top, but no arrows signifying that its transfering data, and in the settings, it says it cant connect to the networks that are saved, and it wont search for new ones either.

I am having a simliar problem. After flashing using the kitchen, When I flip the WiFi switch the icon changes to the anttanae with the cirlces and moving arrows for a second or two then it stops and it's just the antenna. I checked all my setteings and even manually entered my home networks info... nothing gets it to connect to any wireless networks. Anyone else having similiar problems/know of a way to fix this? Also, GPS is suppose to be enabled and whenever I use a program ( Google Maps, Windows Live Search) and try to get it to find my location via GPS it just sits there searching for satellite data. The best way to find out why any DOS windows closes is to manually open a DOS prompt and run the command. Then you will see whatever error or response is returned when running the command since the window won't close automatically.

Yeah, if opening a command prompt locks your PC, you've got bigger issues. I've never seen that. My first instinct would be that you've got some sort of spyware or virus that is trying to lock you out of cleaning it off. I've had a few lately that killed access to things like regedit and policy editor.

Just about everyone. I'm downloading it right now, and I'm going to be hoping for an improved radio that DCD will be able to incorporate into the next DCD kitchen. As good as DCD is, he doesn't write code for the radio or drivers from scratch... new official ROMs always lead to improvements in one way or another.

ThanksYes you do need to relock it. I will relock to install this ROM to get rid of the "Test Only" disclaimer (I know I can get rid of it with 2.17 or below then flash back to DCD but its not really worth doing until I need to upgrade again) then lock and install the next DCD.

Typically though stable releases are 1.x and experimental are 2.x.

The 3.27 radio rom was based off of the leaked version that we should have a released version today. The question might be that we will need to reload DCD's ROM after uploading the new Radio ROM though.

It's already out; and they are talking about flashing DCD 2.3.2 on the new 3.35 radio (released today).

Audio issues begin after 1st incoming call... running 2.3.2 /w 3.35 radio.

Call yourself... does it ring audibly? then check and see if the audio is still working...

Audio works fine until you get your 1st incoming call after flashing. Then it breaks.

Volume controls for phone drop to 0, no audio heard on any apps.

Taking the battery out will fix it until you get another incoming call. I soft reset may as well, I didn't try...

Incoming call u hear a "click" on speaker then from that point speaker no longer works. Earspeaker/Microphone work fine though... needs reboot to fix speaker but condition repeats itself upon first incoming call.

Note it breaks ALL sounds from speaker... even system sounds... playing audio files, etc....

So do I need to wait for something for Verizon or just flash the new Radio ROM and then possibly the DCD Rom again?

I'd do nothing yet. If you wait for Verizon, you may wait a long time. Going the route of new ROM followed by DCD 2.3.2 yields the audio problem (and now reports of vibration not turning off once initiated, too). Unless you are willing to be a test subject and contribute to the data pool, you may want to wait for DCD to get a chance to analyze what's going on and rework things accordingly.

I just updated the official ROM from HTC's website - i think i'll wait til DCD looks into it personally and when he comes up with an update, i'll update my phone with that...i think i can go on back to stock....*i hope....* Thanks DCD, Olipro, No2Chem, and all the others that have gotten us this far!

Cody - You having the issues where the phone won't ring after the 1st call. and nothing else will play thru the speaker...... I also had a problem where a txt message came in while I was elsewhere, and my phone kept vibrating for like an hour..... lol drained half my battery.... had to reset to stop the vibrating.... I even tried No2Chems latest based of the new ROM, it wouldn't even load for some reason.... so I've gone back to 3.27 for now....

LOL that is because you need to take out the battery for 30 seconds for nuerom to work because of the new partition table or something like that.

Hi this is what i had troubles with aswell.

You will need to go into ##778 and go to the edit option using your MSL

You will need to make sure that your AAA Shared Secret is your decimal ESN and a few other things.

Check my last post at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2004881&postcount=32

For some reason these roms over write these parts with scrambled info

Let me know if you need any help regarding this because i know how frustrating it can be.

Before I flashed my XV6800, I had Modem Link. After installing this ROM, I lost it.

FYI - Modem link is NOT the same as Internet Sharing.

Modem link allowed me to use my XV6800 as a modem and dial into another modem via a phone number. This is handy if you need to dial into a customer's system but don't have access to a land line.

Internet Sharing allows me to tether my laptop and get on the internet via my data plan on my phone.

Is there a way to get this function back on my XV6800?

I've tried using some of the cab files (ones with WMODEM and ATCIUI) that I've come across with no luck (perhaps they were for the 6700?). I just get the "COM OPEN ERROR".

If your bootloader is 1.06 and your ROM is a 3.16 and radio is 3.27, then you are maybe stuck right now and will need to flash back to the stock VZW image as only signed software will go in with that bootloader. Are you stuck at the splash screen ? If so then that is the fix. After that and the phone actually boots again then you will be able to flash olipro2.40 again and move forward.

Edit: sorry.. I meant for this to be in the 3.01 thread... that's what I'm using. Oh well, the comments basically apply the same in any case I think.

Just upgradd from stock 3.16, hven't tested much yet, but so far so good.

Dcd, you've put so much work into this, just a little more documentation about what things are would help alot to make it valuable to people.

For example, you took out the battery meter. I know alot of people don't like it. I don't particularly, but I've never bothered to search and install something else as I have better things to do and the stock one did the job well enough for me. It would be great, if taking out something this critical, if there was a link to what to replace it with on the front page(granted for some things there are links).

Also would be great if a few more of the options were documented on the kitchen screen itself or a readme somewhere. As it is one has to do a search on every check box to decide to click it or not. Just suggestions. I have no complaints.

There is a question in here. What's a good battery meter? Please don't say "search". I will. If someone haa recommendations, then thank you.

P.S. I'm dissapointed with OneNote, my reason for trying wm6.1. Oh well.

I just realized that htc homeplug (provided in the kitchen) is the battery meter and related icons. I always get this confused with htc home plugin(the name difference is so obvious). Again, though a quick 5 word description by each option would really help with such things.

i did give them a call to have the a-key reset and that went through just fine. i guess i should be more specific in saying that i can definitely receive calls and have been able to since the a-key reset. however that is not the issue i was having, the issue is that the call ring tone would not put out any sound. vibrate works and i can answer calls just fine and have a conversation and everything its just that there is no actual ring sound when i get a call. regardless of what tone i set it on i get no ring sound but the weird thing is that i do get sound on alert tones such as sms mms and email. anybody have any ideas? i love this rom except for this issue. thanks!

I just flashed my XV6800 (Verizon) with this ROM and the GPS works great. I have three questions. Sorry if they're newbie type but this was my first ROM flash so I'm pretty stoked.

1. Not sure if this is a bug with the dialer but the first time I tried to dial ##778 I accidentally typed ##778#. After that the auto-complete kept putting in the extra # and I wasn't able to get into the PST.
2. The task manager Task_Manager_2_0_30487_2.CAB does not appear to work with this version... is there a fix or alternative?
3. No Mobile Office :( What's the best solution for this? I need it for work. A fellow member pointed me to a CAB but it would be nice if it was in ROM... or doesn't that make a difference?

Thanks!

Hi. First of all I would like to thank DCD and all for the great work on the kitchen and roms! Now my problem is that after successfully unlocking from a stock 2.09 Verizon rom and flashing successfully using Windows XP actually -- I am able to make and receive calls, but the machine continuously reboots, its somewhat better if its connected to the computer, but there is something still wrong with the USB connection because I could not install some third party software, kept getting an error.

What am I missing here?

Thanks much.

No bug with the dialer... just had to 'scroll' up to the number input area and that took care of the problem. I think I got the Office stuff worked out since I installed the update on the SD card the files seem to run office normally. The only thing I'm still wondering about is the Taskmanager.

Made it through all the updates and all seemed well except that the phone showed that I was in roaming mode. When you get a new phone from Alltel (at least this model) the literature tells you to dial *228 and select option #3 to activate the phone. I got the confirmation message and the phone rebooted. Roaming mode went away, all seemed well. The problem is that it continually reboots about every 10 seconds on battery power but not when it's in the cradle. Makes a nice desk phone but I need it on the road... Anyone have any ideas? WAIT a minute, just the post about SPL 2.40 olipro needing to be updated, maybe it's not too late.

So I dled an updated ROM and Radio for my XV6800 (verizon) and it installed fine, though I needed to reactivate my phone which wasn't working for some reason so I flashed what I believed to be a new rom, Titan Relocker. Now I am stuck on the boot loader screen and any new flashes will not load past 0%. and running exit_bootloader.exe will not work because it says I have no USB connection, though I do.. Any ideas. I just got the damn thing yesterday and already ****ed myself.

Where can I get the Verizon IMG? I'm stuck on bootloader.

crazy question i know, but i took the "cooked rom" plunge last week. Went with DCD's 3.0.1. I've tried all the MMS settings and configurations that are offered, but i'm seeing alot of Alltel people on here and other sites saying they went with DCD's 3.0.4. I can't see alot of difference, and so far there is only Verizon, Sprint and Telus that are being offered?

How are these guys getting an Alltel 3.0.4, or are they using one of the Kitchen Rom's there? The reason i ask, is if MMS is fixed in 3.0.4 than i'll upgrade. If not, i don't see alot of reasons to switch mine since i have everything working but MMS. (of which i'm very happy of everything else)

I guess since i don't understand alot between "cooked" and "kitchen" roms, i'm not seeing how "Alltel guys" are getting 3.0.4.

thanks

crazy question i know, but i took the "cooked rom" plunge last week.

I guess since i don't understand alot between "cooked" and "kitchen" roms, i'm not seeing how "Alltel guys" are getting 3.0.4.

thanks
Jason

A cooked rom is made with the kitchen b/c thats where the cooking takes place lol....but forreal. download the 3.0.4 kitchen from the link on the 3.0.4 thread and extract everything into a folder. Run the kitchen by opening "BuildNB" and make your customization as needed, be sure to include the Arcsoft MMS program. Also be sure to choose one carrier from the list, in your case it would be Alltel. Remember to press the play button at the top of the screen then close out the dialog box and it will begin to build your rom, and then will automatically begin the installation steps.

Im guessing the reason there is only 3 hosted roms for download is b/c those are the most popular ones and its not necessary to host all the roms when you can simply use the kitchen to make one specific for your needs. Once you get the hang of making your own roms with the kitchen, you will learn how to customize your own roms to install your choice of programs. At that point, performing a hard reset wont be as bad since there is less stuff you need to put back on your phone and reconfigure.

Hope this helps. peace.

thanks...so it sounds like there is no doubt that 3.0.4 kitchen is the way to go. I've already downloaded the new Alltel Radio and i have 2.40 Olipro, so i'm going to try it. Thanks for the help. The 3.0.1 is solid..very nice. I have a few alltel data engineer friends that are actually running them on their 6800's.

Good evening.

I have a virgin htc p4000 from telus (wm 6). I have tried to install both the 2.3.2 telus ROM and the 3.27.00 radio. however when i run either of the installers i get an update error. the progress bar shows on the phone but the number stays at 0% for maybe a minute when the error is displayed on the PC. I am able to recover back to my original settings.

I would really like to unlock the GPS functionality. I am missing something that needs to be done prior to installing the rom?

Thanks,

Chris.

Too funny, I kept reading this over and over and wondered what I was missing.
I finally held all three on for a few seconds and then the boot loader screen appeared. Just wasn't holding them on long enough at first! Thank you!

I ran the Hard-SPL 2.XX and it ran the boot. However I keep getting the screen with 3 bars. When ever i run a hard boot I am getting the same screen with the 3 bars. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can make this screen dissapear?

you need a file called exit bootloader

search around for exit bootloader and read up on what you have done and will need to to

Here ya go. Connect your phone to PC but make sure to disable USB connections in the Activesync options before running it.
