Hi there!

I read a lot in the wiki and am not now to windows mobile and upgrading (had an XDAII before.)

I bought a MDA vario II, containing WM5.
It had a simlock.

At first i wanted to install WM6 with the official t-mobile update and the unlock it.
I am using win XP, so no problems there.
Activesync found the vario, i started the update-prog... found the vario.. start.
then the vario turns off.
i tried this a few times, it turns off, active sync isn't connected any more. no update.

As the device had a simlock i used the unlocker provided here, it worked good, i can use my E-plus card now.
This worked nearly as the update (same style, but as the device went to some bootloader style in the meantime everything worked.)

I then tried again to install the official update, same thing.
It sometimes seems to be stuck in the tri-color start window when trying, i have so softreset it then...

Then i tried to upgrade via sd-card (tutorial from the wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_SDCardFlashing) ).

I extracted the files from the .exe update program.
I saw that the nbh file was too small to contain all the data, so i fetched the schnaps rom and extracted the .nbh fiel from there to updrage to this version.

EDIT: i also extracted the .nbh files from the internal RUU_inside.exe file and tried both.. doesnt work either.

The proglem is that the update doesn't start after softresetting.
Trying to start the bootloader ("start the bootloader (hold Ok button on left side and POWER button at same time and stick with stylus in RESET on bottom).")
brings me to the tri-color bootloader window.

It says:
HERM300
IPL-1.01

HERM300
SPL-1.40.Olipro

Serial

It does not start the updrage file...

what am I doning wrong?
I thought everything should work like this ;)

Tahnks in advance!

make sure the card is formatted to fat32, and you renamed the file to HERMIMG.nbh, you might also want to update your hardspl

I checked the type and saw that it was fat (16). I reformated the card and copied the image file once again on it.
I renamed it (again) and restarted with the bootloader.

a second or so it says 'loading' on a white screen, but after that it is again in the tri-color bootscreen as before.
This happens with all 3 tested romupdates..

I will try to update my hardspl to 2.10 Olipro tomorrow, when i am back at home..
will this really help??
Any other suggestions?
