Anyone try it yet? Downloading now...
Installed last night over v1.1.3 without issue. I just have coreplayer installed, no TCPMP or flash bundles. I went to m.youtube and picked a video, Core opened and streamed it nicely. It looks pretty much the same as before but the change log certainly shows a ton of fixes and tweaks.

I installed it too, and still cannot play files from m.youtube. I have TCPMP and flash installed.
Also still cannot get audio from ac3 files, do you have the same?

Guys,
Don't get your hope high for Youtube, it will never happen the way TCMP does with flash bundle...
Personally, I am very disappointed with Core Player's progress, I brought the very first version of CP on the day it was released back in Oct 06 and an year and half later, it's hardly any different (my opinion) Betaboy will tell us of millions of fixes, improvements etc but I am not convinced at all. I am still using TCMP Player.
Here is confirmation from Betaboy...
"As far as YouTube... we do not play ANY flash video... nor will we ever with the restrictions Adobe has on the Flash Container (even though we do support it internally for testing purposes only)"

CP shows filename and duration after loading, but the video never appears. I tried moving along the timeline, no change.

It might be a soon judgment / coincidence though, but the 1.2 which replaces my 1.1.3 plays smootlhly (in QTV mode)
Is it the extra twealing they did, or the DCS V1.7 ROM...(the fastest I tested so far) it will stay a mistery.
Gonna try VBenchmark tomorrow to see if we get a +1800 score :D.

The QTV mode does not work with coreplayer 1.2 on my LG KS20, all I get is a black screen. Do I have to do something to have this program working as advertised for the MSM 7200 chipset ?
I searched this forum and found another KS20 user stating that the 1.1.3 was already not working and some users having differents PPC having the same black screen problem. I found a post on the 1.2 release thread on the coreplayer forum where another KS20 user was having the same blank screen problem. Did anyone found how to get rid of it ? I bought coreplayer yesterday for QTV support, and since it does not work, it is useless for me since TCPMP is working as well as this product without QTV support.
If someone could help me, it would be much appreciated.
Edit : the rtsp protocol does not work either, and I have the same problem as the user on the coreplayer forum : I can no more view rtsp streams with WMP when I uncheck this protocol support in coreplayer. Any help about this too ?

Could someone tell me whether CorePlayer can play audio files using a simple folder-type structure - i.e. just a plain list of files in their folder order, NOT using ID3 album/artist/genre/inside-leg-measurement/etc tags.
What I have at the moment (playing via PocketMusic 4) is just one AUDIO folder on my storage card, and within that there's a PODCAST folder, a RADIO folder and a SONGS folder. These three folders are updated automatically every time I sync my device to my PC so that any newly fetched podcasts, individual song downloads, etc are copied into the three folders silently.
When I launch PocketMusic, it scans the whole AUDIO folder and creates a list of all my MP3 files, showing the podcast files at the top, then radio stuff and finally songs (with each folder's contents neatly sorted alphabetically). Playback returns to the last played item and position by default, which is great for those two-hour podcasts that I can't listen to in one session. Once I've listened to a podcast, I just delete the file via PocketMusic from the device, and the sync program will later delete the PC copy too. All really simple and neat and totally automatic.
I guess the one big downside is that is won't play video podcasts. I've looked at lots of other programs, but nothing else seems to offer this very logical load-list-on-startup and sort by folders facility. Will CorePlayer do this sort of thing?

Also... Did you follow the other threads here about QTv and what we did to get it to work? But point taken in that we we not 'officially' state QTv support but we will mark it as 'unofficial'.

This is with http://m.youtube.com correct? We are aware of a duration and loop bugs on OS X and this might be related to that as well. Also with the current streaming via RTSP is that CP starts buffering, but the buffer maxes out... It should buffer by seconds and not KByte. This is the todo for after the weekend.

@beta_boy,
That is correct, mobile youtube. http://m.youtube.com not regular youtube.
Sometimes though, it's blotchy, like big squares on the screen, not sure of the terminology of video, is that "tearing"?.
Quck question for you,
As I'm a noob to this, how to I change Coreplayer to be the default player instead on Windows Media Player? Is at simple as setting all file associations to CorePlayer? Stuff like MSNBC Mobile(the program, not the website),uses regular http and it always opens with Windows media player. Would like to have CorePlayer as default, also someone posted wm plugins? would those dll's work with Coreplayer?
Any help would be appreciated.

whocares2... let me first offer you a refund as "it does not work, it is useless for me".
Do I have to understand that it will never work with QTV on this PPC ? I understand that you did support this GPU for HTC complaining users, but it seems that even HTC owners have this black screen, if I understood well some msgs in the 1.1.3 thread... You stated that it could be related to different QTV implementations, but never requested info about registry entries, QTV versions and so on for the affected users... So QTV is a no go for you ?
My point in buying your product was to be able to play non-downsized videos - at least some with resolution in the 5xx range, like recorded TV shows -, which seemed possible with proper hardware support considering the performance without.
I will make more tests comparing this coreplayer 1.2 to TCPMP (videos) / WMP (rtsp) before using your refund offer, but this is nice commercial behavior, thanks.
Second we will look into the WMP fill assoc bug.
Already did this and found out : when there is no key about the RTSP protocol in [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PROTOCOLS\Handler], you restore the empty CLSID key that you backuped. I deleted the [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PROTOCOLS\Handler\RTSP] key and now I can watch again rtps streams.
I also found out, by cutting and pasting adresses from PIE, that in fact, RTSP does work over WiFi, but not over 3G. I haven't compared the visual quality with coreplayer compared to WMP yet, but rtsp support is not my primary concern.
Also... Did you follow the other threads here about QTv and what we did to get it to work?
Yes, I tried what I read in the 1.1.3 forum : reverting to GDI before retrying QTV, setting again the zoom, ... Nothing changed.
But point taken in that we we not 'officially' state QTv support but we will mark it as 'unofficial'.
That's fine, but I think that people like me would prefer that you fix this black screen problem. Perhaps I am wrong, but I think that it should be a minor one since the KS20 has the same chipset than the Kaiser/Tytn2 (MSM 7200). Perhaps is it only because having been designed after, it as a more recent implementation of the API ? I remember having seen a QTV version in the registry...
Thanks for having taken the time to answer my message.

This may be a bug in the new version 1.2.0.
I have some Jpg's in a Photo folder. If I try and view them in the new Coreplayer, they do not always change to the next image if I press the forward button. I may get a blank (purplish-black) screen and if I keep pressing the forward or pause the next image will eventually show up.
Puzzling since it did not occur on the 1.1.3 version?

Yup, TCPMP has earlier / less optimized decoders.
Interesting comments about benchmarks I tested the same video clip
Divx encoded with PDXE 320x240 total bitrate around 475k/sec which plays fine on all of my portable gear, Archos, PDA's etc.
TCPMP benchmark was 148%
Core 1.1.3 was 203%
Core 1.2 was 153%
Again, they all played video just fine on the Kaiser.
I then thought about any add-on's that might be slowing things down, well I did add SRS WOW and I did bump up the bass recently on Core's EQ. So I re-tested
Core 1.2 SRS WOW removed, (EQ still active)= 175%
Core 1.2 EQ Reset (Off) = 205%
Core 1.2 EQ Reset (Off), SRS WOW Re-Installed = 180%
My previous TCPMP and CORE 1.1.3 tests were pre SRS/EQ additions so I'd say that 1.2 is about the same as 1.1.3 for playing Divx AVI's on my Kaiser. Any sound processing hits performance about 25% per process on mine.
Regarding M.Youtube,
I tried it via 3G and WiFi with no problems. I even tried EDGE and it worked without stuttering but it took a minute or two of buffering before it took off playing, Core opened and showed the beginning video frame and then paused for the minute, then played the whole 5 minute video without stopping.

Hi,
After some research and the post at http://www.corecodec.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=3816707b55fef045046659a36ad91b 09&topic=725.msg4265#msg4265, I can confirm that QTV.DLL is not on this PPC. Beta_boy, is this the explanation for the black screen in QTV mode on this PPC, or is it possible that this API is implemented in another DLL and the problem is elsewhere ?
At your knowledge, is it sufficient to put and register this DLL for getting QTV support ? I did try, and got only some minor display glitches without any progress in coreplayer QTV mode, but I am afraid I may not have registered this DLL properly, plus I tried an old version when much newer exists.
Thank you for taking the time to help me (and thus other KS20 owners) in sorting this out.

I have re-installed 1.1.3 after 1.2 was unable to play my test video without dropping more frames than it played. 1.1.3 dropped 0 frames for the same video file. Both using QTV video for playback.
What's gone wrong?

For me is the same , I've installed the ver. 1.2 and any video freeze and drop more frame than played.
Unfortunately i don't have a old version 1.1.3 because i'm a new Kaiser owner.

quick question: I have been using TCPMP with an H.264 plugin and my videos (320x240 @420k) play ok, but it still skips sometimes when there are lots of quick color changes on the screen. Does coreplayer play video smoother than TCPMP?
Also, Iv'e been searching around and I'm trying to find out what can be done (reg tweaks, tweaks within TCPMP, etc.) to improve video playback performance. Anyone have any ideas? I have a sprint touch by the way.
