Hi everyone,
I've been searching for a solution for my problem on here through the forum's search and the Google search all day but haven't found one yet so I'm finally throwing my hands up in frustration and posting hoping that some of the very talented and kind folks online can help me out.
I bought an AT&T Tilt last month and the pocket IE worked fine on it when I was using it with AT&T in Northern California. I am using Dutty's WM6 rom and the .17 radio.
I then flew out to Islamabad, Pakistan where I am currently staying. I used the SIM-unlocker found on this forum and everything seemed ok. Pocket IE continued to work on my network here (Mobilink, they have GPRS and EDGE). Then suddenly 2 weeks ago, pocket IE stopped working. Now whenever I try to load a page in it, it just gets stuck at "Locating" and the animation looking for the website keeps going in circles. It never finds the site. I've tried all kinds of different websites and always no luck.
At the same time, Opera works 100% without any sort of problem. Also I am able to use the built-in WM6 e-mail manager to check my Gmail over IMAP over the same GPRS/EDGE connection so I know my connection is fine. Pocket IE still doesn't work. I checked in connection settings to make sure there was no proxy enabled, that both my networks were set to my provider (mobilink)'s connection settings and I double-checked my connection settings with my provider. I feel as if it isn't their fault since all my colleagues are able to use their phones and the Internet and even on my device, the other applications such as Opera and built-in mail work. I also downloaded the Gmail java applet and even that works perfectly.
I'm at my wit's end about what I should do or try that could make a difference and I would sincerely appreciate any help anyone can offer. I've heard of a disablehiddenproxy option but have so far been unable to find that .cab file anywhere that I could download it...and I'm not sure if that fix would apply for me since I am no longer using the AT&T/Cingular network.
Please help! :) Thank you for taking the time to read this. :)
