Unusual problem windows mobile files

Damnest thing. I keep lnk files in \Windows\Start Menu so PointUI shows them. But all by themselves they move back to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs. I must have moved the .lnk files 10 times. I even tried changing their properties to read-only, they still move. Reboot not necessary for this to happen. Any ideas why and how I can pin them down?

I have the same thing and it's anoying me out. I hope someone can fix this.
i have even deleted them out my regestry but they just come back.

Have you tried to remove some of the links you don't use? The start menu folder can only hold so much since it is the source of the actual start menu and that has a limit of what it can hold.

Windows rules: only 7 .lnks are allowed in the Start menu. PointUI uses this folder for its "Favorites" button. Many of us PointUI fans are frustrated because we move our favorite links there and, wham, they go away.
The way to choose which 7 lucky files get to stay in the \Windows\Start Menu folder is by returning to the Today screen. Click Start=>Settings=>Menus. Then check the 7 you want.
