I know that not everyone will want this, but since i have seen several people asking for this working on their phone, i decided to post it for those who are interested, as i was. This is my first post, so be gentle...

For the past week or so, i have been trying desperately to get the myFaves application working on my unlocked Tilt. Now I finally have it working.

Just DL the Rar file and place the files in the corresponding folders, apply all the registry edits, soft reset, and it should work. If you have any questions, let me know.

i know it sucks, i had no choice but to do all that manually myself. Luckily, i have SOTI on my PC to make it easier than using Total Commander. If anyone can convert the file so that it makes the adjustments automatically, please do. I do not know how to myself.

As far as i know, it should. It worked for me, however since i have been working on this for a week now, i did enter the contact info manually prior to getting the application to actually work on my Tilt. but it does refresh like its supposed to.

one thing to note, in order for me to get this to work on my phone, i had to copy a few .dll files to my phone (especially to get the myfave app to run without the "not trusted or missing files" error). i am listing all the additional files needed to run, i tried to get them off my device, however not all of them will copy over (the ones that i used to get it working on my device are included in the original rar file) so i am going to list them below. So if your device does not have all of these dll files, it may not work properly. but i only had to copy over the ones in the rar file, so perhaps all the devices already have them.

I'll be the guinae pig. It appears to work correctly. I only used it for a short while on my stock rom, and other then editing/adding contacts crashing (general problem i'm having right now, not the app's fault), it's working exactly as it did on the stock rom. Lots of people are going to appreciate this work gentlemen.

well, i have a stock wing and am havin problems editing my myfavs profiles, so i tried to install to see if it would fix my problem, but it wouldnt install. it says something about not having enough permissions.....can someone help me out with my problem tho??????

im not sure if this will help you, but are you using Adv Config 2.02? if so, check the misc tab to see if the security is enabled or disabled. I had it disabled at first, but noticed the same problem. I changed it to enabled, and haven't had a problem since. its worth a try...

and thats about it. then later i went to go edit a ringtone on one of the profiles and it kept kicking me back to the today screen. i cant edit anything on any profile. i must have done that storage clean like 5 times, formatted my sd card like twice and nothing. i still cant edit my profiles. the only thing i did to my phone besides the things stated above are the tcpmp player and the flash bundle for youtube......any ideas on how to fix this problem???? im getting really upset with this....>:(

i used the first one on my tilt with 3.02 rom of wm6.1 and i got errors. i'll try the patched one and report back.



UPDATE: I did have to reboot for settings to take place, but that is ok. the new cab file works but since i am on at&t network it will not work correctly for me cause it sends my contact info to t-mobile servers and says invalid info error code 453. it will only work correctly if you have t-mobile service from what i tested. but other than i am on at&t network the updated cab file works perfevtly

This cab works pretty good on my unlocked 8525 on T-Mobile in Missouri. Thanks so much. The only issue that I am having is that it doesn't always display the contacts in the oval format like on the wing. Sometimes it will and sometimes, it just places all 5 avatars side by side. However, it connects to T-mobile, refreshes the contacts and works perfect. Very handy when away from a computer for any length of time and want to change a contact. I had the same issue with permissions as listed above with the first cab, but not with this one.

As it shows below, I am not running a stock HTC rom, I am running WM6 using Schaps 4.31 on this phone.

Duprade, thank you for helping to make this better for all of us. apparently some of the phones do not have all the required dll files included. Are there any dll files that are missing from my list on post #5 included in your cab? I know the original file did not include all of them, I only included the ones I had to copy from my GF's Wing to get it to work on my tilt.

thanks for your feedback, did you check your windows folder to make sure that all the necessary dll files listed in post #5 are on your phone? im just wondering because on my tilt, I do not have the same problem with the oval format not working sometimes. so I am wondering if something else may be missing.

thank you for your feedback. the interesting part is the error 453 you get from T-Mobile. since I have T-Mobile and am using myFaves, I never received that error. so, at least we know that it really is connecting properly to their server and updating the information, or at least trying to update in your case. thanks again.

as long as you are on the myfaves plan with T-Mobile, it should allow you to update and edit your myfaves contacts on the PPC as you would be able to with any T-Mobile myFaves phone.

using the file explorer, navigate to \Windows\StartUp\
My5MsgCenter.lnk and delete this file. once it is deleted, soft reset your device. after it boots back up, try to run the CAB file and see if you still get the error. you might be getting the error because it is already running.

if that doesn't work, you will need to download an application such as SOTI Pocket Controller to stop the running background processes before you can delete it. there may be other progams available that will allow you to see the background process, but that is the one I have. maybe someone can lead don ramz in the right direction for a suitable program to stop the background process.

im sorry that you're getting frustrated more and more. but im pretty positive that you haven't done any damage to your phone. we just need to get past this little speed bump.

There were 2 dll files missing. I don't remember the exact names but I'll take a look at the cab I made when I get home.

well i was able to delete My5MsgCenter.lnk by renaming it with the total cammander and then deleting it. i soft reset, ran duprade's cab, but i still have the same problem, i keep getting kicked to the today screen........i at least wanna kno what i did to cause this....

I updated the links in my post this morning to add the missing Flash dlls. I don't know the app but can you confirm that you are using the latest version of the cab file (i.e. downloaded for the rapidshare or megaupload link I placed in my post)?

I will be moving to Germany and I am considering their version of MyFavs (http://www.t-mobile.de/calling_plans) I will be using my current unlocked tilt with an Alex ROM and TMobile.DE SIM + Plan.

I updated the links in my post this morning to add the missing Flash dlls. I don't know the app but can you confirm that you are using the latest version of the cab file (i.e. downloaded for the rapidshare or megaupload link I placed in my post)?

When selecting edit profile and trying to change avatar or ringer, Application dies. No errors, just terminates. You can restart and try again, but you have to be very fast to keep it from kicking you out.

no, you can hide/show them on your today screen by changing the settings accordingly.

I am at a lost myself, the only thing I can think is that your phone is missing a dll file. did you double check your windows folder to see if you have the dll files listed in post #5? if you have all of them, then I am completely lost. I haven't experienced that myself. if anything, you might be able to set the ringtone and picture via a registry edit.

I know that would be a hassle, but if you would only need to do this periodically, it might be an option. hope this helps some.

to be honest, I have no idea if this would work on the German network. one would assume that if they implement the same program and files, it might, but im not sure. best guess, try it, if it doesn't work see if you can somehow get your hands on a WM phone that has it preinstalled and then go through the files to find out what is needed for it to work. good luck

Seriously, the MyFaves application is about managing your My Faves Contacts which is a "feature" on t-Mobile allowing unlimited calls to those contacts. It allows you to change your selected "Faves" in addition to acting as a visual speed dialer for them.

Your post really doesn't add anything to the coversation.

I know that not everyone will want this, but since i have seen several people asking for this working on their phone, i decided to post it for those who are interested, as i was.

honestly, this post was intended for those who wanted it as i stated in the first post. If you dont like it or want it, fine. but there are just too many people that really found this useful and/or wanted the application to work on their phone so they could change their myFaves contacts on the fly.

Are you a t-Mobile customer using a Tilt on t-Mobile's network? MyFaves only works with t-Mobile.

it is telling you that because you have AT&T and are not set up for myFaves with T-Mobile. I believe that if you adjust the "State" to "1" in this registry[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\My5\My5App\Contact _0 through 4] it will allow the program to be used as a photo dialer.

NO I havnt because I really like having the myfaves menu on my phone, it really finger friendly, also my mms donest work anymore and i checked the data settings and it looks fine.

I've got a kaiser, just out of contract and was considering myfaves but not before I find out if it will work on my kaiser!

what exactly are you doing when you get the error? are you trying to open the app, or refresh the contacts? a little more detailed info will help me out in figuring out the solution.

Everythings works excepct the my favs application. That is when I get the error. If I click in one of the Icons or try to start it from the programs file I get the not a singed app or missing files error. Thanks in advanced for the help.

They are not there. I downloaded the original rar file to look for them but they are no where to be found on it. Is there any way you can post a link to the files described in 5 so I can put them into the windows folder manually to see if that's works.

It did not install the dill files from post 5. I still get the same error. Thank you for all your help. I wish there was a Rar or a zip file out there with those dill files from post 5. It said something about being in the original rar. But when I downloaded that rar from the post those files were not there. I would appreciate any more help if possible

flashlitedll.dll is included in the cab file.
htcfsrc.dll is part of the HTC Camera app.
gsmamrenc.dll is part of the OEMAPPS package and appears to be related to the Pictures & Videos/Camera app.

coredll.dll & crypt32.dll are "special Rom files" even when you do a Rom dump for cooking you don't get them, they are extracted only as a folder with a few files in it.

The rest of the files in question are part of the actual OS and therefore are on your device (although they may be marked as hidden and/or system).

I'd bet your only problem is the flashlitedll.dll, just grab the cab file from my earlier post in this thread and you should be fine.

And if that doesnt work, i will try to extract the files from my old mda or gf's wing. However, i believe that kyphur is right, because when i got it to work on my Tilt, all i needed was the flashlite.dll and another file that was included in the original rar file in post 1. and everything else was already there...

Well I extracted the flashlitedill.dill file which was the only file like that in the rar and soft reset it and I still get the same missing file error. So far I installed every cab on this post with no success. Thank for the help. I appreciate it. Maybe I will Start from scratch and by then maybe someone will have some missing files for me. I am trying to run this on a cingular 8525 I am using with a t mobile My favs sim. I have the internet working on it I have text and picture messaging working on it I just can't get the my favs app to work. Maybe some of those missing files only come stock with the t mobile phones. Well I started fresh. I installed the cab then I coppied the files from the raw still not running. Then I tried the opposite I copeid the rar files to my windows folder the I installed the cab still noting.

honestly, im lost. I am using an AT&T tilt however, i have the HTC ROM loaded on my phone. and it was working fine. i never tries it with the stock rom.

Have you thoughtabout updating your rom to WM6? Im not sure if any of the phones that are confirmed to work are WM5. I guess that might be something to think about.

I will upload any of the files i get extracted later today.

It was the old cingular rom I was using I flashed it with the new att rom from there web site now the program works great. Only one problem the MMS I worked so hard to get working on the old rom is now lost. Any help on that would be appricated thanks again. You guys are awsome

I updated my wife's phone to Windows Mobile 6.1 yesterday,the default by HTC, not the T-mobile ROM. Everything went smoothly and is running nicely. But the only problem I seem to have is having the Myfaves Run on it. It is installed but will not show up on the Programs nor the Home screen. I really dont need it to show up on the home screen, so long as it appears on the Programs in the stat menu so she can manage her faves. I called t-mobile and they had it reset, but what I want is to make it show up. They said to call their tech, and I honestly dont want to answer questions as to where I got the ROM.
Please I know the last reply on the thread dates a while back, so please any help would be highly appreciated, and this is my first post too. :)

I did give the second link a try, but the myfaves was not compatible with the DASH. I was wondering if anyone could PLEASE PLEASE, compile this for a smartphone. I tried all the myfaves I found on here, but they all end with "Unsuccessful Installation". I know I should have expected that, but hey, they work sometimes.

Hey, Sorry to bother, I have the elf with blue elves v5 wm6.1 loaded. I have tried to install this app using both cabs and get the missing files error. sorry i'm late and old is it possible to just wipe the tilt totally clean including the flash rom and tranfering everthing from the t-mobile wing phone over to the tilt

i was actually satisfied with the use of my wing i just didn't like the color and the fact that it didn't tilt

i'm not on the expert level of the whole reporgaming part but if it possible to skip all that and just swaping everything over its basiclly the same phone with the change of apperrance and carrier correct:o

Glad to see that it is working for you! but in case you haven't already figured it all out, .cab files are basically an installer for the Pocket PC, just load it onto your device, using the file explorer, click on the file to install the program.

It installed fine, it is also able to display the icons when touchflo is disabled.....
But the problem is when I click the individual icons I get error message...

I just installed it on my unlocked tilt with the stock AT&T rom (minus the bloatware of course,) and it seems to run great. The only thing that doesn't work is the icon synchronization on the tmobile website. Thank you so much!

For the past week or so, i have been trying desperately to get the myFaves application working on my unlocked Tilt. Now I finally have it working.

Just DL the Rar file and place the files in the corresponding folders, apply all the registry edits, soft reset, and it should work. If you have any questions, let me know.

I no longer have the Tilt anymore to help you troubleshoot, however you may have some missing dll files. if you havent already done so, check to see if you have all the files in your windows folder that is listed on the first page.

I know this might not help much, but i hope you can get it working.
