i want gps on my phone but i cant figure out how to program my phone properly. It always freezes up on the unlocking stage.......then i have to reload factorty rom..... i know there is like four or five steps to it but i cant even get to the second one..... who knows i probably had the wrong program even! sheesh
is there a place that has step by step instructions? i hoping for a "gps for dummies" post lol

Extremely helpful..basically tells you EVERYTHING you will ever need to know about flashing. (Newest custom ROM links included)

When you say it freezes up, can you describe what you get on screen?
I did it to 2 of my office's P4000 on Telus and GPS with google maps is pretty cool.
Everything works well, except the BT. BT headset seems to disconnect even more than before.
Aside from BT not working well (well it wasn't working well before, but now may be as bad or worse) DCD's rom works great!
I used DCDs kitchen 2.3.2 to make my telus ROM.

Going to WM6.1 with GPS
1. Hard-SPL-240-MFG.exe (follow the on screen instructions)
2. Titan_Radio_3.27.00.exe
3. Run dcd 2.3.2 Kitchen (select telus)
4. Wait 5min
5. Dial *22803
6. 1 for english / 2 for french
7. 1 for over the programing (MSID,MDN,AKEY all that stuff)
8. Wait 5min
9. Dial *22803
10. 1 for english / 2 for french
11. 2 for PRL (preferred roaming list)
Going to Original Rom
1. Titan_Relocker.exe (follow the on screen instructions)
2. Telus_HTC_P4000_WM6_07252007.exe
3. Wait 5min
4. Dial *22803
5. 1 for english / 2 for french
6. 1 for over the programing (MSID,MDN,AKEY all that stuff)
7. Wait 5min
8. Dial *22803
9. 1 for english / 2 for french
10. 2 for PRL (preferred roaming list)
You can find the MSID,MDN,AKEY all that stuff by dialing ##778 and then view. In the end using the "Over The Air Programing" is the easy.
Do all of the programing in your home calling area, good luck (eh)

Thanks for the tips for setting up a Telus phone. I recently upgraded my P4000 to radio 3.35.04 and DCD's 3.0.4 Telus ROM and thought that it was completely useless (no data and always said "International" roaming ). These tips helped me fix that. ;)
However, I have no GPS .. Google Maps, etc., don't work and GPS Test can't find the GPS device. I have location turned on in phone settings and my external gps settings are set to COM4: / 4800 baud.
Any suggestions? I did have it all working with DCD 2.1.0 and radio 3.27, but really want the "prepend 1" setting in the phone as well as other helpful updates.
Thanks!
