View Full Version : htctoucher's HTC Touch/Point UIish Theme, with 16 VARIANTS!!

This theme was made for PocketCM Contacts
I created the theme with the user in mind (I created 16 different variants so that the user has more control over the customization of this theme without having to change anything themselves)

V1.3 RELEASED!
changes include:
.....new smsbox in sms panel
.....compatible with v25+ PocketCM... to change separator stuff and sms picture see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2518478#post2518478
.....added option to fit sms to text (download the "settingsini for shrink fit.zip" and place the settings file in your PocketCM folder (not in a .zip file - by itself))
.....changed Alphabetical Separator slightly
.....SMS Image added in SMS view
.....
.....three options of shades (light, medium, dark) for contact detail panel included at the end of this post (drag whichever bg.png you want into the respective variant)
.....other minor fixes
.....blue updated(no screenshots, but it is just blue instead of HTC Touch Black)

....added pound symbol, euro symbol, kroner symbol, ".co.uk", ".dk", ".fr", ".es" to keyboard layout.. see post #53: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1979105#post1979105
(and post #7 which includes my keyboard skins and includes the above link as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1960134post#7)

Main features of this theme:
...... 16 different variants. This means there are four types of themes each with four different bubble types (see attached screens)

...... the four types are: I (Index with no info bar), _ (no index with no info bar), I In (index with info bar), and In (no index with info bar).

...... the four types of bubbles are: GA (Gradiented Arrows), GNA (Gradiented No Arrows), NGA (Non Gradiented Arrows), NGNA (Non Gradiented No Arrows)

The first post will be a preview of the variants in a .zip file and different shades for your detail page (see green text below) , then the next four will be organized by variant type.. the first being _, the next I, the next In, and the next I In.

(The seventh post is my keyboard skin).
It goes along nicely with my contact theme. PCM keyboard works with PCM contact. If you are having issues (only spaces showing up) I have a fix which is on that post.

Enjoy!

Special thanks goes out to DvTonder who helped finalize the settings.ini file! And of course tene for his AMAZING contact application!
also, thanks goes to stones over on PocketCM Forums who sent me the majority of blue graphics which made making the blue theme much easier/faster for me

You can get PCM Contact here:
http://pocketcm.com/contact.dev.php

and PCM Keyboard here:
http://pocketcm.com/keyboard.php

http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/5773/previewofthemevariantsja7.jpg
the preview really doesn't do justice to the theme, I had to whip it up quickly and accidentally shrunk the image down too far..

if you prefer to hide contact pictures in your All Contacts and Contacts with SMS page, then go to post #15. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371837&page=2post#15)

Attached below:
...a screenshot (preview of theme variants.zip)
...IMPORTANT!!.. there are 6 bg.png images attached as well. They allow you to change the shade of the contact detail page from lightest, medium, to darkest.
..........If you are using a theme with info bar, download the "bg for info bar only" and drag whichever shade you want into the variant's .zip
..........If you are using a theme without info bar, download the "bg for no info bar only" and drag whichever shade you want into the variant's .zip
if you accidentally drag a bg.png meant for, say, a variant with info bar into a variant without an info bar, the contact detail page will look weird, so just drag the correct bg.png into its corresponding location.

hope that makes sense..
Enjoy!
Choose wisely! (Or choose all of them and continuously switch between them.. it will take a longer time to get bored of the graphics in this theme I hope!)
My preferred theme variant:
----> I InGNA or I InNGNA

I forgot to include the star.png for some reason. So, to enable the favorite star, DOWNLOAD THE "star.png" BELOW and edit these lines in your settings.ini file with notepad:

## Large favorite button
image.favoriteimage.picture.background=fillimage(s tar.png)
image.favoriteimage.nopicture.background=none
image.favoriteimage.box=-76p,93p,-60p,109p

I found a fix for anyone using an HTC Sprint Touch or any other device that does not allow PCMKeyboard to work with PCMContacts.

Try this:

The problem is XT9. Try to disable it with this change in the registry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Layout Text"="COMP IME"
"Ime File"="\windows\compime.dll"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This works, I've tested it!.. now you can enjoy Tene's amazing keyboard with his similarly amazing contact app!

you'll need an app like totalcommander to edit your registry
[www.ghisler.com] (http://www.ghisler.com%5D)

to get into your registry go into //
HKLM stands for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The layout of my keyboard theme is like this:
...hold down any vowel (or the letter c) and you will get accent marks plus the capitalized version of that letter
...holding down any letter on the keyboard capitalizes that letter
...hold down @123: ? ! ' $ @ : ; ( ) *
...hold down comma: / ' http//:www. .com
...hold down space: 1234567890
...hold down period: :( :) :p Tab Home " - ...
...hold down ie icon: https://www. .net .org www.
...hold down -: _ (this is an underscore symbol)
...hold down /: \
Go to this post if you are from a country other than America for different currency symbols (kroner, pound, euro) and for ".co.uk" ".fr" ".es" and ".dk"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

if you would like I am willing to make other keyboard skins, so just request and I will consider doing them.

if you would prefer an iPhone keyboard that is as close to the real iPhone's keyboard as you are going to get with this application.. check out this skin: http://pocketcm.com/phorum/read.php?14,9435

If you would like a lighter skin that runs very fast due to small file size, check out this skin:
http://pocketcm.com/phorum/read.php?14,9480

open the attached zip file, drag the contents out onto your desktop or somewhere else on your computer. Then sync with your mobile device and place "Eng htctoucher.layout" and "htctoucher.skin" in your PCM Keyboard folder in Program Files.

Also attached is a slightly larger version of the layout (2 pixels larger vertically, which provides more room between each key)
Enjoy!

this theme is just... awesome. i don't know why you seem to like the themes without SMS arrows, i like them because the make the bubbles.. pop. ok right when i wrote that, i realized that i have to add in: pun NOT intended. haha. i'm using I In GA, and greatly prefer gradient over nongradient.

anyway, a couple requests from me
1)can you darken the contact info box? it's white, while everything else is gray/black/silver.
2)the index bar letters seem blurry, although it's not your fault, since i can see you got it from HTC Random Access. still, maybe you can look into that. not important, though.

apart from that, this is a really fast and really thorough theme. ironically, it replaced DvTonder's HTC-ish Classic as my default theme.

Regarding the index bar, It is rendered correctly (not blurred) with the variants without the top info bar. I will remake one for the top info bar. And it is not from HTC Random Access. The background of the index is actually straight from my HTC Touch device, however I had to redo the text to fit within the parameters of PocketCM. I still have the .psd file for it, so I will whip you (and everyone else using the variants with top info bar) up a bg.png (name of the background file) that renders the text without blurriness.

Attached is the bg file you need (one for with info bar and one for without.. choose accordingly)

And also 3 different shades of grey for your contact detail (also they are split into folders for with info bar and without, you must choose the correct one for your variant.. e.g. InGA requires the one with info bar, IGA requires the one with no info bar, etc.)

Also, if anyone is interested in these themes and do not use "Show contact picture" then these versions are for you!

They move the sms counters to the very right of the screen, regardless if you have contact pictures for that contact or not.

I never have the contact pictures displayed in mine, so I like to justify all the sms counters to the right. If you are the same.. choose whichever variant you like and download the .zip on this post and the next post.

I would be willing to make more colors.. could you describe more fully which bubbles you would like in different colors, and whether you would like the sent and received to be colored or just the received as it is now.. also what colors.. pink for sent and red for received? not my kind of thing but if you request it I will do it.

is there any way you could provide me with a screenshot of the problem? You can use a program called MagicSS which makes it really easy.. google it you'll find it.

I loaded that variant onto my device, and had no problems at all with the bubbles..

Very good theme...
but i have found one bug, the counter of sms character dont work...
I'm using I InNGNA version...

I had noticed that, but could not seem to fix it perfectly.

If while you are typing the character counter gets messed up (which usually only occurs after you have typed more than 50 characters), you can click out of the box, so the keyboard hides, and the counter will reset itself and look correct, displaying the correct amount of characters you have used. It also seems to correct itself if you wait for a bit.

I am working on a fix for this, but it may just be this version of PCM Contacts.

It also helps to allow all of the bubbles to load before starting to type.

I have perfect bubbles for my text w/just PocketCM 0.20...when I DL the various variants (tried them all) I still get the bottom bar poking through the bubble; not very pretty!!!!
I uninstalled and am using the default wherte the bubble is a bubble...Is this an issue w/my TOUCH as I have made zero modifications to this sweet skin!!!I truly would like a fix, I just see no point on keeping it if it won't work right on my device...
Very Frustrated!!!!

Awesome skin.

If I were to make a sugestion, I'd ask for a little more colour.

Everything looks pretty much 'HTC Black' and white.

Any chance of splashes of Blue just like the HTC Icons ?

It just needs it minimally and would give it that crowning touch.

Great work dude.

Please tell me if you are using .20b

if not this could be the problem. I feel terrible that you are having this issue since I want you to enjoy my themes full fledged. I am not having this or any problem with any of the variants on my HTC Sprint Touch, and by the looks of it no one else is either.

hopefully you are using v.20, in which case upgrade to v.20b and see if that fixes it.

I would like this feature as well. However I cannot change that, tene would have to change that in the applications programming. It would be really nice if by holding down the top right of the application it would close instead of minimize, and if you press it once, it would minimize.

That would be nice.. maybe if we ask tene he will consider it (helps to have more than one person ask for a feature request).

how to install the theme ?? where is the cab File ??? i copied it on the it doesnt work , even not from PC

there is no .cab file.. the only .cab file you need is for the actual program, PocketCM Contacts, which there is a link for on the first post.

Download any of my theme variants (the .zips) and save it to your desktop. Then, drag the .zip file into your mobile device's folder for PCMContacts (which is in your program files).

Once in PocketCM, select options, select "select theme" and then select whichever theme variant you downloaded from this thread from the drop down list menu.

Hope this works for you
htctoucher

P.S. anyone reading should note that this Saturday I will have an update for you all.. v1.1, which will incorporate any fixes I have already done in this thread and more bug fixes (such as sms character counter, the index, the addcontact from sms page, etc.).
and.. possibly some more bubbles! no promises though. At the very least I will have a frostyglass bubble (vistaish) that I am currently making for DvTonder for one of his themes.

Ok, a thick question about the keyboard skin.

I have tried and tried holding down the comma button in some vein to get the 'http://www.....com' text to come out but I it doesn't seem to work.

The only one that works is the @123 which shows the quick punctuation block.

Non of the other hold down buttons are working.

Am I missing a trick here ?

I'd really like to get this up and running. Could anyone help ?

Thanks

Question: are you using my Eng htctoucher.layout file? It is located in all of my keyboard .zips (the .layout file is the same in all three of my skins - the one to match PCMContact theme, the iphone one, and the light one).

Also, try reloading PCM Keyboard (reselect the keyboard from the drop down of keyboards you have on your device) after you select the theme, sometimes the layout doesn't load correctly the first time.

hope this works!

Question: are you using my Eng htctoucher.layout file?

Thanks for the reply.

ENg htctoucher.layout and htctoucher.skin are both in the Program Files\PCMKeyboard directory. I assume that means they're both in use ?

Like I say, holding down @123 works, but holding down the comma for 2-3 seconds just shows a comma again.

I've been using this skin for over a week now, so really puzzled about this.

have you gone into the settings for pcmkeyboard and selected eng htctoucher for the layout? the only other thing I can think of is that you have the wrong layout, so try downloading it again from my most recent theme (light - link below) place it in your pcmkeyboard folder and then select it as your layout in settings

Also, sometimes you have to reload the keyboard for the layout to start working. This usually only happens right after you change the skin of the keyboard though.

You were right ... It was using the wrong layout.

The funny thing, is that when I installed your new Light skin, I experienced the same problem. And yes, I've changed the Keyboard skin by selection the Option tab from the held down return key.

I found a workaround though.. If I copy the smaller Eng htctoucher.layout file to English.layout, only then does it work.

Strange. Is there some step I've missed ? All I've been doing is placing the unzipped files into the PocketCM Keyboard folder and then selecting them via the Return button.

Thanks again

Dahhh.....!!!!

Think I figured it out. How thick of me.

I had never chose the Keyboard layout. I was using the Eng.layout skin with knowing I had to switch it using the Opts settings.

I think I have it sorted now. Thanks!

One suggestion though... In addition, to the .com being shown, is it possible to add an additional .co.xx where xx would be the country I live in.

So for example, holding down the , would show the IE icon, .com and .co.uk.

Could this be considered ?

Thanks

yeah sure I will whip that up when I get the time

But just so you know, if you want to customize the layout of the keyboard, you can open the Eng htctoucher with notepad on your computer, change the settings, and then save it.

htctoucher

here it is attached (Eng htctoucher with co.uk), all I changed was putting .co.uk in the popup of the comma. It replaces the / in my other Eng htctoucher.layout files.

Enjoy! Hope that's what you were looking for.

Another version (Eng htctoucher with .co.uk and more).. by holding down the ".com" you will get ".co.uk" ".co." ".dk" ".fr" ".es" .... (the ".co.uk" is also in the popup of the comma - it replaces the / in my other Eng htctoucher.layout files). This version also includes the kroner symbol, the euro symbol, and the pound symbol.. just hold down the dollar symbol to get them.

this is EXACTLY what i been looking for... you kinda p0wned everyone elses glory lol :D

j/k, anyone who contributes to this thread is great in my book... however, i do have one request...

if you could post some bubble variants for colors... itd be perfect... i love the blue, but i just set a theme up for my g/f and now she wants pink or red... just a thought... if not, keep up the good work.

I have slightly tweaked the colors of the bubbles into a red/pink scheme. I will attach the images that you need to drag into any variant using GRADIENT W/ ARROW (GA, I GA, I InGA or InGA)

I haven't actually tried them on my device so don't know what they look like on the device, so tell me if you like them, I can always change them (changing the colors is quite easy).

So just drag these into the variant you are using. Then you must go into the settings.ini file of that variant, press CTRL+F, the find dialog box comes up, and enter "fill(#7097B1)". Replace all of the "fill(#7097B1)" for "fill(#C52828)".

Then hit CTRL+F and find all the "fill(#9D9D9D)" and replace them with "fill(#B78181)"

Save the settings file of that variant by hitting CTRL+S, and exit it. The .zip file will then ask you if you want to update it.. press OK.

There you have it! Drag the .zip into you PCMContact folder on your device and test out the colored bubbles. Tell me what you think.

this is just amazing. a great theme to begin with, AND an amazingly responsive creator? A+ for you, lol. just installed the updated 1.1, nice tweaks. one thing that was an issue in 1.0 and still remains here is in the PhonePad, the highlights are offset above the actual buttons. just press and hold on the 9 to see the highlight. dunno if it was on purpose, just pointing it out if it wasn't. i'm fine either way, thanks again for the theme

haha thanks!

I figure checking this thread and answering people's questions doesn't take much effort and seems to really help you all out (I can check it on my phone which makes it really easy).

As for the highlights.. I realized that. I am not sure if that is something to do with v.20 of PCMContacts, because I cannot seem to find how I would change that. It looks like it gets slightly offset vertically on the "789#0C" buttons.

At least it is only a little bit off, not enough to be frustrating.

I will keep trying to find a fix for future releases.

If you find any other bugs please either PM me or just post them here so I can address them.

glad you like my theme!

thanks,

Awesome skin.

If I were to make a sugestion, I'd ask for a little more colour.

Everything looks pretty much 'HTC Black' and white.

Any chance of splashes of Blue just like the HTC Icons ?

It just needs it minimally and would give it that crowning touch.

Great work dude.

I don't think my blue variant is as much blue as you asked for. I am still not really sure how to bring blue into the theme without it clashing with the black/white/silver. I own a Sprint Touch so am not 100% sure of what the original HTC Touch looks like with the blue icons.

For my next release, I am thinking of making a variant with more blue. Here is so far what I have thought of making blue:
.... the default contact picture
.... the "contact information" box
.... the battery icon
.... the editsms box (where you enter the text for text messages)
.... the back button (then possibly a touch of blue in the top/bottom bars) - however see if I do this, then all the buttons need to also have a touch of blue.. and that will make the black index look strange as well as the background, so they would also have to be a slight shade of blue.. and I think that would be too much.. (still thinking about how to bring the blue in without clashing..)

Now that I am thinking about it, maybe I will just have to make a variant where everything is blue..
Tell me what you think of one of the blue variants (the only difference is instead of silver, when things are highlighted they are blue)

If you have any suggestions... PM me or post here!

thanks,

@HTC Toucher.

I tried out your v1.1 theme. V Nice! And great work... Keep it going... It is valued.

From you last post, you were seeking some ideas for adding more blue. I had some thoughts :

For inspiration on the Blue colour scheme for the Touch, please see the third picture on here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372946). If you could tweak the shade of blue you use to fit in with this, then it would be ideal!

It strikes me that you do not see much blue on the default screens (apart from SMS) when you're not using the application. So, it would be great if the background image had the most subtlist of blue glow in the bottom part of the curve.

I've noticed when an SMS comes in, the 2nd icon on the bottom bar lights up with a subtle blue glow. This is nice. But it doesn't show on the other buttons if pressed. So, ideally if you could put a blue glow behind all of the bottom bar icons when there is a manual press or an automated event occurs, then this would be great

On pressing the character bar on the RHS of the screen, you can flick through the address book with a big character being shown on the center of the display. Again, it would be great if this big letter shown had a blue background glow behind it (although, I expect this is displaying a Font rather than a graphic, so I imagine this may be more difficult)

Just some ideas. Hope I'm not giving you too much work!

Enjoy your glory dude. Some may not be commenting, but I'm sure I speak for all when I say it is much appreciated.

thank you for your support!

I really like your ideas for the blue theme, and will most likely be implementing most of them plus some of my own.

The only problem I am having with trying to add in blue is that when it is put into the background image, it does not look very good. Also, with blue in the background the black top bar, bottom bar, buttons and index look as if they clash with the blue. This would mean I should change all of these to blue as well, but would that not be too much?

I will see what I can do this week with the subtle blue effect.

thanks,
htctoucher

P.S.
do you think it would be odd if I set up a donation button? It would not be mandatory anyway and it would just give me more incentive to keep updating and responding to this thread! Even a few dollars here and there. Tell me what you think.

Your point about a soft blue background may be right. I guess just play around with different designs and see.

Feel free to set up a Donation button, but reading through other threads on this forum, I think some develoeprs are frustrated that through Donations, they do not get much. I expect this is the situaton with Tene as he's the one that has developed the PocketCM Keyboard and Contacts infrastructure.

Speaking from a totally selfish point of view... The best things in life are free (Hint Hint!) ;)

Dear htctoucher!!!

First of all, congratulations on a tremendous job well done. Your input into the subject could not be overestimated, not only does the theme appear to be quite adequate and comparable to tene's original ones quality-wise, it's certainly the first custom one to have done so.

Taking into account your considerable talent, I would like to ask you, If you see it appropriate, to see into a request of mine.

Having installed a number of LV-style themes for the TouchCube, CommManager, etc., presented by a number of noble designers much like yourself here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1501744#post1501744 (post 180), I was discouraged to find out that that the PCM forum lacks any similar themes for the PCM Keyboard 0.13 and the PCM Contact 0.20b.

Could you see your way into designing something of the likes taking into consideration your previous experience??? It would probably be an enormous success with the users...I, for one, would be eternally grateful, mate.

As of now I am currently working on a Pointui theme for PCMContacts actually, so wouldnt have the time to really thoroughly make a completely new theme with LV graphics. What I could do is whip one up that just is this theme featured on this thread with LV logos overlayed across the background and detail page?

if not, I believe DvTonder made an LV theme, I have not looked at it, but you could check it out and see if that is what you are looking for.

htctoucher,

DVtonder's theme is just the ticket, your reply MUCH appreciated.

What do you think about a similar PCM keyboard theme? Would it be a real challenge to create one, say, going from your recent iPhonish styled grey version (JUST to change the button background, for example, or, sort of, make it all brownish)? Or, maybe, yet again there IS one ALLREADY?

Thanks in advance.

PS: the donations button IS a good idea, IMHO. In any case, it won't hurt you if there's one attached.

Hey quick question for ya. I've tried both I InGa and I InGNa and seem to be having a problem. On the sms window, I have no arrows at all. Also, the images all seem a bit blurry. Did I forget something. I think I picked the right files and left them unaltered so I wasn't sure if there was something else I had to do to get it to work right.
I looked but didn't see quite this issue so thought I would ask.

Two Questions:
..... are you using a QVGA Device? (This theme does not support VGA)
..... are you using v2.0B of PocketCM Contacts? (If not upgrade to it)

I InGNA does not have arrows, and I have tested I InGA on my device and it does work (the arrows show up)

As for blurry images I do not know what to tell you as I am not experiencing this, the only thing I could think of is that you are running this theme on a VGA device.

Really sorry I cannot help any further, hopefully it is one of the simple answers above.

Theres another glitch in this skin, maybe its just my phone, i tend to use landscape mode more because of the keyboard on my wing and no offense, but it seems as if landscape mode was a little breezed through in the making of this skin but here is the glitch i found attached... As I used the side scroll the background of the main letter seems to be offset to the left in Landscape mode. Does this happen to anyone else?

Other than that minor glitch GREAT theme thanks i gave it to all my friends!

No, I totally agree with you. I barely ever use landscape, so did not spend as much time on that part of the theme as I probably should have. Oh well, guess I will just have to release a new version that will look better in landscape!

Will be improving

the feedback (the thing messed up as you said)
the landscape background will be the same as portrait
bigger contact list items

This is a question for tene, the guy who made this contact application

2) How can I get the info bar for the contacts to display on the left side of the phone, like the default Touch skin?

You can't, unless you change a large portion of how this theme is set up (you would have to move the index to the left in the bg.png image.. you would also have to make the marginright(24) in settings marginleft(24).. you would have to move the highlighted thingy to the left in feedback.png image.. some other things that would come up that I do not know off the top of my head)

I would say I would be willing to whip one up for you, but this theme has so many variants that it would be too much work to change that for all of them, and I really do not have as much time as I did when I made this theme, so I will only be doing small updates (like the landscape one coming up) for all of the variants.

if it still is really that important for the index to be on the left, tell me which variant you are using and I can make one for you within the next week.

Thanks for taking my comments into consideration. another glitch was when you hold down a contact in landscape mode, the call screen pops up with their number at the top, but for some reason the number is too low covering up 1,2 and 3 on the touch dial pad as shown in the attachment. in landscape mode and in portrait mode they both need back icons. :D Sorrry to be picky!

Agreed, noticed the landscape problem once I looked at the theme again after I posted.

The thing about the back button is that for some reason it just doesn't show up in the call panel.. So I will just have to do a workaround like in my Pointui theme.

v1.2 released, includes fixes for landscape that makes it more graphically appealing and more functional

I have also tried this, I am not entirely sure if it works, you should ask over on Pocketcm.com

Did you edit all these lines?

searchindex.*.indexmargin=??p
searchindex.*.rightborder=??p
searchindex.*.leftborder=??p
searchindex.*.indexwidth=??p

and if none of that works, try editing this one:

searchindex.*.box=??p,??p,??p,??p

just edit the first and second values

see if any of those work

the blue variant will be up within the next two weeks, sorry about the delay (I'm usually pretty quick with these updates)

I just really do not have the time. For sure I will have it by the week from this upcoming Tuesday (very latest).

It is very blue as you will see... another user (forgot his name its on the first post) PMd me my graphics for this theme color balanced blue (that includes all graphics, including backgrounds etc.). It's too much blue for me (as you probably have noticed I don't use much color in my themes), but I am sure those who were requesting blue (such as yourself) will like it.

I do remember that you said you would like a touch of blue, so i am not sure if this will be too much. However, you can always mix and match the graphics from the original with the blue-tinted of my upcoming updates together until you find the balance you like!

hope that's not too long to wait! (I will actually be releasing another theme along with these blue updates.. it has the htctouchish colors as well but a different style/design and completely different graphics from this one)

It does take a while, because it has to load up all of the images in the theme. Perhaps on later versions of PocketCM the load time will be faster in themes with images (rather than the default which has next to none)

We can only hope that tene will somehow magically implement this into future versions!

I replied on the previous page to your question about the loading times...

I'm not sure how much PocketCM uses.. i would guess high 1000ks.. Sometimes it will not show how much it is using, other times it will, which is why I am not sure.

I have it on all day on my HTC Touch, since I dont want to wait for it to load up each time. I have not noticed much of a battery drain from having it open all day as opposed to not having it open... love this app, best for contacts and SMS I have ever used especially because of the ease of use and ability to skin it to whatever you want.

Super only wish was that for bad eyes like some of us have, the keypad (click the phone and numerics) letters are too small. Would be best if same numbers, but moved to top of each pad, then letters below would be able to increase to almost numbers size making letters much easier to see and use.

It would be quite neat if we were able to use PocketCM (since its the default contacts manager) to beam a contact too. I cant join their forum for some reason or another to make this suggestion.

*BTW when I use WM contacts option it locks up.
Cheers,
Alistair
*WM contacts fix (by experimentation) appears to be change skin to default, select WM contacts again, then change back to HTC touch skin and it then works OK here.

Alphabetical separator is screen wide, so it overlaps the right alphabetical selector. BTW, the letters in the selector does not match with the actual letters selected, while sliding over, and the size of the selector list (high) does not match with the slide working area.

It works OK with original black theme, but the selector is in the left side of the window, no very useful for right-handed people.

I changed settings.ini (GA v1.3.zip)
Please note that using windows text editor can corrupt your settings file suggest using Windows dos based editor eg from cmd prompt
> edit settings.ini

changes:
phonepadkey.*.letter.font=12p,regular,Segoe UI,#B6B4B6♪
phonepadkey.*.letter.font.pressed=12p,regular,Sego e UI,#696A69

This is better but I dont know the syntax to move the phone pad digit higher on the button to allow for bold which would be perfect. Can anyone can suggest this?
Its possibly in here:
phonepad.*.box=0,-174p,100%,$bottom$
phonepad.*.digit.box=0,0,100%,100%♪

In my experience this happens only when you UNZIP the files into the PocketCM folder.

DO NOT UNZIP FILES!!!!!!

just drop the .zip package into the PocketCM folder

hope that helps

in terms of the alphabetical separator being screen wide.. you have to set a marginright(20) I think.. I dont know why that isnt liek that.. it used to be

I find notepad it the easiest way to edit the settings file

phonepad.*.box moves the entire phonepad
phonepad.*.digit.box is what should move the digits
I THNK.. this should work
phonepad.*.letter.box moves letters

tell me how that works for you

just want to take the time to tell all those inconvenienced with all these slight bugs with new version that I am sorry!

It is pretty hard to update 16 variants of a theme without doing them all at once, but then you run into problems because you update one variants the same as another which should never have been the same.

yeah it is confusing

I will try to fix all of these later, but a break is in order right now for a while

if you find all the fixes you want.. I will either implement them.. or edit the first post so that users will know what lines to add into their settings file.

sorry for any inconveniences!

I double checked and i did not unzip the files. I just dropped the zip file in the PocketCM folder and, as it should, it popped up in the themes drop down window of PocketCM.

I have tried the other variants and i am getting the same thing sticking out the one side of the bubble.

thats very strange

have you made sure you have no stray images or settings.ini files in your PocketCM folder?

if you dont.. then try to put the compress bubble settings lines into the settings.ini file that you can find inside the zip

Hello,
thank you for your Skins. I use the GA. Would it be possible, for each contact something to sizes (high). The operation would be then simpler for humans with thick fingers somewhat! :)
Sorry for my bad english!

you can open (with notepad) the settings file which you can find in the zip file.

find the lines:
contactlist.*.item.height=38p
landscape.contactlist.*.item.height=38p

and simply change them to whatever height you want
then CTRL+S to save

hope that helps!

Not quite sure where to put this... I thought I knew but I was wrong. This is where I put it (in bold):

# Contact Edit Panel
# ==================
list.editcontact.propertylist.box=0,$top$,100%,-40p
portrait.list.editcontact.propertylist.background= fillimage(bgsms.png)
landscape.list.editcontact.propertylist.background =fillimage(bgsmsl.png)

## Main section Headers
separatorlabel.*.background=bottomborder($high9$,1 ),marginright(20)
separatorlabel.*.font=12p,bold,Segoe UI,$high9$
separatorlabel.*.item.height=20p
separatorlabel.*.text.box=2p,2p,100%,100%

Can anybody help? I would also like to move the contact picture from the lower right hand corner to the upper corner of the SMS Panel that you text ing. Same thing as it was in V.24.

Did someone else noticed it too?
Maybe a missing file in the zip?

that is for the edit panel

you have to put it in the contact list separator:

## contactlist letter separators
contactlist.*.separator.item.background=hgradient( #414142,#686565),marginright(20)

20 might be too much or too little, not sure so you might have to fool around with it.. if I remember correctly it was either 20 or 12

to change the position of SMS picture, find these lines:

## SMS Contact Picture
image.contactsms.box=-45p,-98p,-2p,-48p

all of the lines you will need to change that correspond to version v24+ will be very near the top (scrollbar, sms picture, fav icon, etc)

hope that helps

Thank you, the margin right number is (24) that lines it up with the A-Z index perfectly. The SMS Contact Picture numbers are what they should be in the current version, i wanted the picture up near the top like in V.24. I figured it out though, i don't recall the numbers off the top of my head.

I found a fix for anyone using an HTC Sprint Touch or any other device that does not allow PCMKeyboard to work with PCMContacts.

Try this:

The problem is XT9. Try to disable it with this change in the registry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Layout Text"="COMP IME"
"Ime File"="\windows\compime.dll"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------[/COLOR]

Plz help me my hardware keybord just write numbers i cant write letters

I tried to create mine theme. But I don't know how to change the font of "ButtonOK" and "ButtonCancel" in system.ini file. I deleted or modified the following section in system.ini, but it doesn't work. It seems pcm doesn't load this section. could you show me how to do it?

"
button.confirmdialog.ok.font=14p,regular,Segoe UI,#ffffff,center

button.confirmdialog.ok.font.pressed=14p,regular,S egoe UI,#000000,center

button.confirmdialog.cancel.font=14p,regular,Segoe UI,#ffffff,center

button.confirmdialog.cancel.font.pressed=14p,regul ar,Segoe UI,#000000,center
"
In addition, I copied the Segoeui.ttf to \windows\font, but no different with before. I don't know why.
