Hi, all !
I am new on this forum. I am a HTC T-D owner and have a problem with connecting my device via BT with a GPS Wayfinder modul. The GPS modul is Wayfinder (model:RBT-1000). The HTC founds it, but than nothing happens. The divice and modul can not get connected. I already try the "soft" and "hard" reset of device, but it is not any better. Does anyone has any idea, what could it be ? For any information I am grateful..

First, have a look here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVPwmr9yAko&feature=related) & try to connect your external GPS to your PDA. If it doesn't work, try some different ports yourself...you'll get it right!
**Don't know if it's helpful, but here are my settings [I have Emtac(s3)BTGPS Receiver and Destinator7]
Settings\System\External GPS
Programs\GPS program port:COM8
Hardware\GPS hardware port:COM7 - Baud rate 57600
Access\Manage GPS automatically:Unticked [This means manual settings in each GPS software]
Settings\Connections\Bluetooth
Devices/BTGPS/Services:NONE (no serial port there!)
Com Ports/BTGPS:COM7
[Also, I did a Soft Reset after these settings and then I tried to connect my BTGPS]
Regards!

I tried to do everything like is shown on that clip (very cool clip), but with no results. I also tried with a different COM port's, but nothing. Everything stops on the point, where HTC and receiver should connent to each other. On GPS-R is shown just a yellow Llight and not a Blue one, like it should for BT connection. Now, I do not know, maybe my GPS Reciever Wayfinder RBT-1000 doesn't have a SIRF III chip and is that a problem, why I can not connect HTC with GPS-R. I will try to connect with some diferent GPS-R.

On GPS-R is shown just a yellow Llight and not a Blue one, like it should for BT connection.
That's strange!
As you say, there should be
a blue led(which starts blinking if the GPS-R and the PDA are connected via bluetooth),
a green led(which starts blinking after GPS fix)
and
a red led(if battery is low) or yellow led(if battery is charging)
I will try to connect with some diferent GPS-R.
Give it a try, just to see if there is something wrong with the GPS-R or it's a matter of settings!

Hi,
I've got a Wayfinder GPs module as well, and it works flawlessly with TomTom and other GPS supported programs like Google maps and Yahoo Go!
Here are my settings:
1. Pair your GPS with your phone, and make sure Serial port is checked in services.
2. Go on Bluetooth settings > COM Ports, and create a new one with the GPS module. Choose a com port (e.g COM6), and uncheck secure connection.
3. Next, go to External GPS in settings > connections.
4. Under hardware , select the above port you have used (e.g COM6). The baud rate, I'm not too sure, I tried most of them, and can see no difference in performance, and left it on 115200..
5. In programs tab, set program port to none, and under access tab, check Manage GPS automatically.
6. Now go to your tomtom, and in the configure GPS settings, select 'Other Bluetooth GPS receiver' and select the COM port you have selected previously (e.g COM6).
Voila! It should work now. Good luck.
