Here is a lil something that i created today
It is the beta version of Opera 9 which is configured mostly to run from the SD card. The SD card should be named "Storage Card" in order to work correctly, because the cab paths are hardcoded to use that name. I have UPX-ed Opera9.exe from 6 to 2 MB so it take less space.

Opera Mobile is full and independent browser whereas Opera Mini works through Opera Server to deliver the content. As per my experience Opera Brosers are the best available today.

It was reported earlier that its not possible to edit the contents on Text Boxes in Opera Browser once they are entered.
But that it not correct. Keep touching the screen where you want the entered text to be corrected, a popup will open up, set "Text Selection on" and then select the text in the text box you want to edit and do the operations. :)
Thanks to xplode for releasing this browser to BA users. Its fast and you would have totally different experience.

and you call this as "solution"? press backspace is soo simple than "right" right click, select all, and rewrite what was enter before!
or rightclick, selection mode on, select wrong digit, rewrite...

This is what Opera has provided, not me. I just figured it out.

THIS IS F"N BRILLIANT!!! Thank you for shrinking it down. I had a version that took up almost if not over 10 megs before and even had to hard reset it to get rid of it. VERY NICE JOB!!:D

hello,
i'd like to try - but i made some bad experiences with earlier betas - can someone please tell me:
1. does smart fit on QVGA work ?
2. does it overwrite the windows default browser settings ? i'm asking since i use "weather watcher" - this tool seems to use PIE as embedded OLE.
i tried another opera.cab and had to reinstall my whole PDA since i couldn't get this weather watcher to work anymore.
thank you.

1. It does smart fit on QVGA
2. It sets itself as default browser, I didnt mind that setting but since you raised the issue, I need to see if it can be easily changed back to IE as default browser.

Nice Job Xplode. I found Opera quite interesting. It loads large webpages (like xda-developers very quickly). The only problem I have is with zooming in and out. I have to hold the stylus down and choose zoom in and out. It's a little slow responding. I wish I could assign hardware keys to zoom in and out. It would be very interesting then.
It didn't screw up PIE in any way. I could still use PIE.

Quckly double click at a point with a finger, area will get zoomed automatically. Great feature. No need to hold stylus and select zoom.
I too can use IE, but default browser is set to Opera.
Opera is known to highjack association settings and difficult to remove but this version of Opera Browser gets easily removed, thanks xplode.

hello,
i tried:
1. smart-fit (fit to screen) does almost work - it does not really fit - it's to wide - looks like it does "fit to a VGA-screen).
2. PIE is still working yes, but opera is the default browser. try to use a application that embedds HTML via OLE (weather watcher for example).
Now it opens opera instead of PIE - this wouldn't be a problem - but opera opens in "full screen" - instead of "embedded in the weather watcher window"
it's the best version i've seen until now - but still these 2 problems...

April,
Thanks. I'll try that. I knew there must be a better method. I did notice one other problem: When I tried to fill out an online form, I could type but I could not edit what I had typed - in other words, after I typed something, I could not backspace or delete.

As I reported earlier, if you keep Text Selection On, you can edit contents of text boxes, this is not a good feature, but I suppose, we got to live with it in beta version.

hello,
i tried to customize - to make it usable without touchscreen (at least zoom with a button instead of double tap - for devices without touchscreen).
this should be possible by modifying the input.ini (see: http://www.downloadsquad.com/2007/04/30/how-to-make-opera-mobile-even-better-mobile-minute/)
looks like the input.ini is just ignored ? did somebody try ? had' any success ?
thank you.
