Ok, flashed fine, I have 78.71mb or program memory after first boot, this ROM appears to be very fast, (although everything is stripped out). No more dial pad issues, everything seems great. Is there anything specific you want me to check?

nope, just wanted to make sure my XIP booted, looks like it does. thank you very much!
It should appear very fast :) I changed to 18mb pagepool, and the true 6.1 port seems to speed things up too.

Good to see you posting on the Vogue again. As always, I love your work. A few things to note:
- TouchFlo Icon stil showing up in Settings
- Cannot Adjust Backlight Settings (when clicking on Backlight screen will flash and nothing happens)
- If you try to activate the Cube, you will get an error on screen that will not go away without a soft reset (I know this is because of remaining registry entries for Biotouch) will post on this later
- Clicking on Device Information will just cause the animation cursor to go on and on (at least on my device) without ever loading any information.
All in all a good start. I know you don't have a Touch to test this on so I'm just trying to be an extra set of eyes. I appreciate your work so keep it up.

yes, but please leave my name in the aku reg key. (thats actually set in the xip now).
yes you can just grab os.nb.payload from ROM it contains the xip
my xip does not contain mencfilt.dll and uses boot_ms.rgu to remove encryption regkeys.

also, just fyi, as long as you use the dpad, you can avoid the soft-reset. attempting to activate biotouch seems to merely disable the touch-screen until the error is dismissed.
idk if that means anything whatsoever but...at least it can some some ppl some time.
thanks a lot for your work dcd, real good to see you back with the vogue.
EDIT: also a bug, same as in your last test version of 6.1, the "power off" function does not seem to work. after holding the top power button, a small prompt comes up asking if you would like to shut down the device. the problem is that if "yes" is pressed, the device just hangs indefinitely with the little wm wait cursor spinning endlessly. thanks again.

Lol wow, I have no idea what that means. All i did was use prepit on your rom, and replaced it with no2chems base 107 rom. Will this cause any issues? I deleted everything but the rom folder, and used your rom as the "Input" rom. I apologize, Im still new

Good morning dcd.
Just a side note. On your first Vogue rom, I attempted to remove the Home Plugin and that also caused issues with the backlight not working correctly. I just thought I'd mention this in case it would be helpful. I'm not a total noob to cooking as I've made and modified quite a few roms myself but I must admit that your rom looks quite different (once extracted into a kitchen). I would love to see an option for the blue dialer and choice of yellow comm manager icons. I'll help any way I can.

Hey dcd, I am having the same issue with the connection saying Sprint. Can i just copy Telus' provxml files from their operatorPKG into your rom used as a base?
jim256
26-02-2008, 11:41 PM
1. pressing left on the dpad when in the phone app will no longer take me to call history as it used to. this because of the titan dialer?
2. just as in your 0.2.0 rom, the dictionary seems to contain some strange characters, certainly not english characters. it also seems a little...strange. such as that it takes "tgat" before "that" and "qqa" (or something like that, cant quite remember anymore) before "was".
not big things but...still some slight issues ive noticed.
(this is running your first release, no cube/touchflo or oemapps included).

May I be so bold as to request a little mod to the connection names:
Can we get one rom with "Bell Mobility" for normal people, one with "Bell Mobilité" for those darned frenchies on Bell Mobility (yah, that includes me :D )

in my experience with the latest rom, WITH the cube and touchflo, i was unable to obtain any internet connectivity, and the settings for sprint and such were no longer available in the connection settings.
i wanted to chk out my pst settings, but could not get the ## codes to work. by the time i found out there was a cab to install those codes, i was already 3/4 the way through cookin up another rom for myself.
thx.

:D
DCD,
I am using the touchflo included ROM and it works great!
Pros:
Fast!
Phone and Internet functions work as expected
Clean
ActiveSync works as expected
No memory leaks
No lock-ups or wierd sh%t going on
Did I mention fast?
Con:
The only problem that I can find is that I can not add contacts to the cube. There is no "+" icon in the buttons.
Is there another version of the cube that I can download somewhere that will replace this one without any issues?
What are your plans for the next release? New radio? GPS? Light saber?
Thanks for your hard work! I know you enjoy doing this but we ALL appreciate it!

I finally found a solution for the not tethering issue for those that have it. Tether once with stock registry even though it wont work then open registry search rilphone delete the dll in internet sharing as normal but their is also a new key that says allow disable internet sharing it is set to 1 modify value to 0 and your in

Hey dcd,
I found another small problem with the rom. There's only one option for the camera button. There's usually two options.. 1 press to activate something and then there's the press and hold. The latter is what's missing.

dcd.. found the problem with the button mapping. There is a missing registry key at HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Keys..... There is only a 40C1 folder and there should also be one for 40C2 (which is the entry for the hold button)
Also Robbyr... short answer is take a blank .exe file and name it Biotouch and place it in the /Windows directory.
Hope this helps.

No luck at all. It's still trying to open biotouch.

The error only shows up when I swipe up on the display like you would normally to start the cube. It seems that TouchFLO is still active since I can use it to scroll but the up action is still trying to open biotouch. I have tried to install the TouchFLO config too, copy a "blank" biotouch.lnk file to the Windows directory, and install a different version of TouchFLO with no luck. At the end of the day, all I am trying to do is to assign the same up action in TouchFLO to open SPB Shell.
Other than this little tidbit, the every feature of the ROM works great!

OK... Here's what I found... To the person having problems with the backlight not working (hint for dcd) what I found is not in the Home Plugin but dcd did not include the folderview.exe. I have attatched this so copy it using File Explorer (or Resco...) to the /Windows directory.
To robbyr... just rename the biotouch.lnk file to biotouch.exe and also place in the /windows directory. I have been searching through the registry but have not found the entry yet. When you swipe your finger from down to up position something is trying to activate Biotouch.exe. (I actually took the start clean app since it does nothing but clear the start menu temp list and renamed it Biotouch.exe and copied it to the /windows directory and VOILA problem gone). I have the ultimate clean dcd rom with 184mb on first boot and 81mb ram on first boot.
Hopefully dcd will share some of his knowledge with me on how he puts together his roms because the structure is different from what I've seen.

WHOO HOO!!
I have been chasing this down for a week by making it WAY more complicated than it should be. In the end, I wanted to make the "down to up" action open SPB shell. I copied the exe, renamed it, put in windows directory and BAM! I am a happy camper.
Thank you!
It would be nice to know how to really strip the OEM of TouchFLO off this ROM and get one on here that can be configured with the config tool.

How do you have 184mb on first boot? I thought the Vogue had 128 mb. Also, you only have 81mb ram on first boot? I'm using No2Chem's 107 clean, and after installing all my cabs (about 20 of them), I have 93.4 mb free ram on boot.

Let me clarify...
Storage/ Program
Total: 184.46 MB/ Total: 101.18 (this will change according to PagePool size)
In Use: 2.84 MB/ In Use: 19.91
Free: 181.62 MB/ Free: 81.27
I'm using a 16 MB pagepool size. The larger the PagePool size, the smaller the Program TOTAL will be. Again, I really LOVE dcd's work. I just wanted to see how much more I could clean a rom. I took out EVERYTHING, including the dialer (only because I prefer the blue dialer to the gray one) and just added cabs as I saw fit. To me that is a perfect rom. Every program that we use on the touch such as Random Access, Enlarge Menu, Home Plugin, Cube, etc. has a cab file that can be found here on XDA or at ppcgeeks. Everyone is trying to beef up their rom and all I want is the most basic rom with a CHOICE of adding anything additional. So far NO ONE has made that possible.
