I've only tested MMS with Arcsoft 4.2 (which will be enabled by default) and with Archsoft 5.X.
With 4.2, it works fine. Also, you get seperate MMS and SMS folders. With 5.x, MMS's give you an error about content not allowed. I haven't had time to work on that one.

Oh, I forgot to fix the SPLASH SCREEN!! lol It's in there but the animation keeps disabling by default for some reason. Well, this will be all fixed by Beta 2. It's just that I don't have much time... if anyone finds the problem, please tell me and I'll fix it.

Cool. I'll check it out when I get home. I figured people didn't want just one big file, so I decided to break it up in pieces. On Beta 2, I will try to divide it all in modules so if I update the packages, you're only redownloading the packages, etc.

Yep. It's a very simple kitchen. It's an adaptation of a kitchen that Bepe created. It guides you through choosing the packages, a pagepool, etc, building the nbh and flashing it, all in one simple double click. It makes good ROMs as it is, the fixes are just small things here and there. I suggest you try it out now. I can't fix problems unless I know they're there. Without Beta testers, I can't find those problems. :)

I have a wing, but I always make things for both. This is a Herald ROM so the Herald keyboard will work, and I run it with a Wing driver and it works perfectly fine, also.

heres a little error/problem
when i try to generate a rom, it stalls at phcanover.dll
It's probably a clash of two packages. I think I may have not removed the phcanoverbmp.dll from the OEMAPPS folder. Just remove it and you'll be fine. Thanks for reporting it.

After installing the VC it work't:)

This i descoverd:
1. already exists on diffrend settings as Symbolpad, BTExplorer
- I deactivated them
2. If all is gone right you can flash w/o any big problems, but after the Flash when the Phone boots up it freez on the Tab the Screen to set up your WinMo-based Device.

The touchscreen don't respons, but the Win hardkey give's you the Startmenu w/o touch on the Screen you can navigate with the hardkeys.

I tested diffrend setting's every time the same result:confused:

I can say if you get it Working it is an realy greate way of flashing go on:D

Not all packages are ready. The temp folder just ignore. Calc.htm is in the Base_Lang_0409. Delete it from there. I haven't stripped the ROM of EVERY part, so many packages are still gonna give already exist errors.
winlive.htm is in the same directory. ok. I'm pulling it from the shelf. You guys are using many packages that I did not have time to get ready.

You guys have to realize that I can't test EVERY one of them. And for some to work properly, I have to cripple the regular ROM and create dependencies on certain packages.

You literally need to use Windows Search on the working folder for the file that gave you the duplicate error. Don't remove the duplicate files from the packages you added, remove them from the folders that have "OEM" in the name (the temp folder will not contain the file, its a temp folder). Sometimes even the "SYS" folder will contain the duplicate, go ahead and delete it.

Thanks, I'll give it another shot, I'm not scared (yet) haha :-) I'm installing the C++ package now. I still think it's funny how even when you download directly from microsoft you still get all the security warnings. If they don't even trust themeselves, why do we?

I couldnt get the packages that I added to install. I made a pkg for Ultimate Launch, Pocket CM and LG Menu. Look in your start menu for total commander. It installs its shortcut there by default on that package. As far as your packages, make sure that they're pointing to the correct place. What does each initflashfiles.txt say on those packages?

Anyway, i just flashed my rom. It's got a 5mb pagepool. It's a bit of a balance between 4 and 6mb. i normally run at about ~27mb free mem when i'm on the today page.

Beta 2 is almost ready and it contains LOTS of fixes. The Base is smaller and every or almost every package should build with no errors now. I've also updated some of the promps to make them easier.

The registry key probably didn't take... Just open tools\htcrt. The files are in the JUSTCLEAN_ something or other. I'm at work so I don't have it in front of me. I'll take a look at what we can do about that registry key. It has to be set into windows so that windows knows what to do with the file...

I have attached the spreadsheet in case others might find it useful while experimenting with various package combinations.

Maybe... the kitchen is made to be extremely simple to use, but it has some limitations that require a little bit of know how.

LOL. I should have realized that. I forgot to mention that. You HAVE to choose that. I still don't have a cube package... so this is the only one that gives you touch.dll so you can actually use the screen.

Well, you can copy or modify the configuration package JustClean, just replace the red.tsk with your tsk and then open up the config.txt file and change the tsk there as well. I might make a batch to make people a custom theme package as they go through the process.

I'm having the same issue. Oh, the task manager shortcut in the upper right hand corner is not working for me (I got around it by setting my up-down gesture to open the task manager).

I noticed. I'm working on it now. For now, you can disable quickmenu and then go to start/settings/system/task manager and under button, enable quick menu on today screen.

I'll try to have those fixed ASAP before I release Beta 2, then. I've added a few packages as well. Two new themes, some apps, a whole lot of fixes, etc.

Bluetooth headset works great for me. This is the first release that I haven't had to muck with anything, it just works. Also, the integration with MS Voice Command has been effortless. Touch and speak to dial works like a charm. I spend the better part of the day answering and making calls from my headset, and so far it has been great.

Of the packages that were selected by default (via options.xml), I disabled the inclusion of "Comm Manager Vibe Toggle" (had conflicts previously with Voice Command). Button 5 (hold) still does perform the Vibe Toggle function with the package unchecked in BuildOS.

Not sure what the issue is. I have built and tested at least 20 different combinations and the headset always worked for me.

Actually, I found the problem. FTouchFLO kills the screen alignment. If I can disable the FTouchFLO while keeping the cube, then I'll do that, if not, I'll try to port the skin over to the real HTC Cube, if not, then I'll just release the vista without the cube.

Possibly. Like I said, give me packages and they will probably be added. Just make sure that if you give me modifed packages of something I already have (like your own theme based on my theme) that you also change the UUID on the DSM, RGU and within the option.xml to save me some time. If you have any problems making the package, at least post a link to the cab.

EDIT: OK, Here's a fix for that. Place this (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KRJ9LN99) package in place of the INTERNETSHARING package you already have. I made a small mistake in its option.xml and it was conflicting with another package. Sorry. (Oh, and it's working on Vista just fine.)

But got a nice 4mb pagepool ROM running now and man..it's blazingly fast! (@286mhz)

Because you can only choose one or the other. That dialer comes with its own battery indicator. If you're going to use it, don't use another battery indicator. It's not a problem with the kitchen, but an incompatibility between two packages, as it would install two different types of the same thing.

Great to hear it's working. The black keyboard in itsblack, I don't know... I've never used his ROM. I'll have to check it out.

The startup animations are different than the rest of the bootup sequence. For now, there will always be part of it saying JustClean Red. I'll try to add an option for that. As far as the animation itself, the startup animations are broken. For some reason the system refuses to play them... I have to figure out why... Anyone that can help me figure it out, please do so. Thanks.


EDIT: FTouchFLO... I forgot to make it so it doesn't start up automatically and kill the alignment system. lol (I already fixed it for the vista cube which also has FTouchFLO, but I forgot to do it to this one.

I started over from scratch in downloading Beta2 and all works great. I have already created a couple of different builds that I will flash and testdrive over the weekend.

I do have a different problem with all my JustClean roms beta1 and beta2. NOTE: When I use Ivan's pre-cooked roms (cleanrom) I don't have the problem. It is just with the rom's I build from the kitchen.

The problem is with my car's built in hands-free bluetooth. Normal operations is that after pairing, the car will automatically upload the contacts from my phone. With my justclean roms, the phone will pair successfully with my car and then when the contacts start to upload my phone automatically reboots. then it gets in a cycle of rebooting so I can't use it at all until i turn the car off. (I have tried several different combinations of bluetooth files from the OEM and it keeps happening, so I think it may be in the system files.) When I use your cleanROMs, this isn't a problem so I'm sort of stuck on what may be the cause.

Anyone else out there with a built in handsfree bluetooth in your car that can test this too?

I don't have one to test with, but CleanROM was WM6.0 and JustClean WM6.1. I wonder if that has something to with it... Maybe I should release the kitchen seperate from the ROM files and release two sets of ROM files. One with my JustClean 6.1 and one with my CleanROM 6.0... Maybe even one with my Unreleased JustClean 6.0...


Oh, yea, that's right. This kitchen's OEM folder is based off a Herald ROM. CleanROM's is based off a Wing ROM. Maybe that's where the problem comes from...

Not so well. The ROM isn't the problem, it's the way to flash said ROM. I've heard that by flashing through SD you can bypass the limit, but that was an Artemis. My SD card died and no one on the HardSPL has answered me to tell me if the SD flashing is also CID-unlocked. Or if it requires a real CID-unlock. The problem is time and resources, it's hard to do anything on my laptop. But luckily, my new desktop should be built pretty soon. I've got half the stuff already sitting in my room waiting for some parts and time.
I've tried to use a decompiler to keep track of what the RUU is doing to see if I can catch it doing a request from the nbh for its size, but so far I can't seem to find one that actually does what I need it to do very well. The kitchen has a way of bypassing the limit if need be. I haven't worked too hard at getting a ROM smaller than that because of the limit consuming my time, though. I don't even know what the smallest ROM you can build with the kitchen at the momment. I know my WM6.1 is a little bigger than my WM6.0, though.

I finally got a chance to play with the kitchen. Got my ROM cooked all went well, no errors installed it and then it sat on the Just Clean screen for 10 minutes did nothing, but did get the blue screen saying lost of power couldn't set up, to proceed click yes, did and it sat there another 10 minutes and did nothing. Not sure what is up with that. So built another new ROM and still the same thing. If anyone has a clue let me know am back to Open Touch 3.0 Lite for the time being until I can get this figured out.

EDIT: Got it working now...started from scratch downloading and all replaced Internetsharing, I now have my own cooked ROM on....even with all I put in there am sitting at Storage 46.5 mg and Memory 25.4 mg...so not too bad!!!

I have had the same trouble with other cooked roms that are based on the herald.

I have the sys files from the cleanrom so I'll copy the bluetooth folders over and see if that clears up the problem.

The only untested package I used was the S2U2 and it works, it just does not show up on the start menu under Programs or Settings. I had to use Total Commander to find it in Programs then make a shortcut and put in it in the StartMenu in order to be able to assign it to a softkey.
I also noticed that there was no change Softkey app in the kitchen. The one I did find to install is not what I am use to but it works. I could not find the one in ttran01's ROM, with that one I would not have had to make shortcuts for S2U2.

Otherwise am liking being able to play and experiment with things. I am gonna try doing another ROM today, I did notice yesterday I have a memory leak somewhere, I had Battery Status up and after about an hour of watching it off and on and not running anyprograms you could just watch the memory tick down, after a hour it went from 24mg to 16, so am not sure what is up with that. If anyone has any thoughts on that let me know.

3) The USB to PC issue is easily fixable. I'll fix it for Beta 3. Heck, I might beta 3 a final since there aren't many bugs in Beta 2 unless you include the extra packages that weren't tested and added as a request.

Actually, it might be the speed optimizations that I have in Ivan's Tweaks. But then again, my CleanROM had a similar tweak set but it didn't have the memory leak... After a soft reset I end up with about 25mb, then after about an hour it will level off at 20.
I only things I add to the ROM when I built it was MS Voice Command, S2U2, PocketRar, OperaMini, Battery Status, Today Agenda, Quick Menu and Windows Live. (I have hotmail for an account I need pushed).
I then install TouchPal Pro for keyboard, and Intellisync for my work exchange both of these are on the device and MemMaid and WeatherPanel which is on the card. Right now that is all I have running, am still up in the air whether to install UL or SPB Mobile Shell, I use them bothbefore and like them, just have to make a decision on which one to add, most likely it will have to be which ever take the less memory.

I did notice that when I look in TaskManager, that the filesys ususally runs at 1-2mg, but when it is losing memory it shoots up to 7-9mg.

EDIT: The Softkey changer is from dotFred Softkey Panel Applet, I noticed you had some of his stuff already in the kitchen, not sure if you gotta get permission from him for this too or not.

Hmm... Do you have an SD card? If so, try taking it out and testing the same ROM you currently have but without the card... It may be a mix of that and my speed tweaks. I haven't noticed a memory leak in a while... but my memory card has been broken for a while.

Please do, I patched that bug up and haven't seen it happen again since... well... since a long time ago. In the mean time, you can fix it by going to: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\ and deleting red.tsk

Ivan, I have a fresh respect and admiration for your cooking abilities. This morning, I tried several combinations of pulling over the OEM drivers from CleanROM into JustClean kitchen and almost bricked my Wing! LOL. A few close calls; but I never could resolve the BT / contacts issue with my built-in hands-free. I guess I'm just not ready for sous-chef yet. I will try again some things tomorrow morning and see if I can find a solution and let you know.

I just noticed somomething, i was testing and finally decided to stick with the rom, so i plug in my memory card and my program memory goes down 4-5MB ( from 30.5 to 26.1) ... i havent noticed this happening before.

Any clue what could be causing it ?

EDIT 2: Wait...several seconds after I submitted the edit, free program mem rocketed up to 25,7! I see similiar behavior with the default values - immidiately after the soft reset the mem is 18 megs or so and after a minute it rises to 21-22 megs. It seems the tweak works. I also tried speed of the device and I haven't registered any slowdowns.

EDIT 3: I tried it to revert all changes once again and then reapply them and it only confirmed my previous measurement: 3-4 MB of RAM difference.

Yeah, I set the CacheSize to 0 and seems to work great...with a lot of free memory!

PS: My common sense tells me that when CacheSize is 0, the EnableCache doesn't matter :P

In the Kitchen it is all ok. It won't start up at all when you klick on it.
In Both the Program folder and the Windows folder.

By the way, my Dad has the Harald to, at first with WM5 now touch-It Germen by Itje.

He Thinks my Harald is faster but he don't speek English, is it possible to become an Germen WM6.1, He gets on my nervs a little at last:D.

Not really a EasyBakeOven question, but does anyone know how to change the default battery color from Batterystatus on your homescreen?

By default, when I create the Rom with the BatteryStatus option enabled it's colored and I'd prefer it in Black/White.

i have rearanged beta1 (totaly..) - which folders i MUST overwrite? (especialy customization tsk problem)

which rgu's have priority? from oem or sys (normaly from oem but im not sure right now because i;ve got problem with some reg keys...)

have you upxed any files?

did anyone had memory leak problem? my rom has 34mb on start and its 24after few hours.. :/

and last but not least - i cant install opera mini (i need pl version) on jbed (im using pack without opera installed). it just hang up.. :/

Download Beta 2. There are WAY too many fixes for me to list them here. What do you mean by rearranged. There are a lot of files that got deleted, a lot of files that got renamed, etc.
RGU's in the SYS folder shouldn't clash with those in the OEM folder. What problem are you having?

I haven't UPXed anything... yet. I may offer everything in UPX form as well soon... but the kitchen would get HUGE and I'd have to manually change so many UUID's... I'd rather just UPX what I have only but some people don't like their things UPXed.

The memory leak, read a few posts before you posted. They answered where the memory leak is coming from. A mix of a registry tweak and your memory card.

As far as the Opera Mini thing, I haven't had any issues installing Opera, but if you're going to have OperaMini anyways, why not install the package that already comes with it? (Actually, I think I may have changed the version of JBed that doesn't come with OperaMini... I forget.)

Ivan, I haven't had any success in solving the built-in bluetooth problem I'm having. I tried drivers from your cleanrom since it was based on wing and mixed with the justclean kitchen - but no luck. The roms always built just fine and would flash, but I never resolved the problem. So I guess I'm no help on this. Each of my mix and matches would break something like the comm manager or other vital system function. Sorry mate! I love everything else about this ROM!

okej.. i've just copied some oempacks to beta2 and buildos showing me "error building deflaut.hv and user.hv" :/ its gonna be hardwork to make beta2 looks like as my beta1 version ;)

as rearanged i mean that i deleted, added, moved and extend many packs.. in almost every folder i did small changes...

i don't use pack with operamini (i dont like opera9.33) but in international version pl signs are squares ;) pl version is necessery. in opentouch pl version ran without any problem.

upx is ok - i'll try to upx some files - office can be aobut 3,5mb lighter :)

i'll chech about memory leak. thanks in advance

Try taking the bluetooth related folders from the SYS folder in CleanROM and using them in place of the ported ones in JustClean... I wish I had a way to test it, but unfortunately, I don't.

There were a lot of changes, copying things over won't be enough to fix those issues. A lot of RGU's and such were renamed, etc. Look at your log.txt and it will tell you why it failed. (temp folder)

oki doki - i crashed one of my rgu's after editing.. no panic :)

actualy i like to install opera manualy but its just dont works. and for now i'm going to bed.. it was long day and rom is back to alpha status.. ;)

Hi Ivan, I did this but still no luck. I'm starting to think the problem is somewhere in the driver, oem, or sys files that relate to the device type/name. The reason I think this is because on all the ROMs that I have tried over the past many months, the ones that DO work always show "T-Mobile Wing" in the device id (in Settings\System\About). Your cleanRom and the Opentouch vresion 2.7 and later are the only ones I have used where the upload of the contacts to my car via bluetooth didn't cause my wing to reset.

The ROMs where this doesn't work are based on the Herald - so not sure which combination of files need to be replaced.

i seem to be the only one with this particular problem, so please don't bother with it. I appreciate all the input you have given me though!

from where you got your palm sms oem? it weird version - sms are store in other file and in other location than i shogunmark cab version..

The Palm SMS OEM was taken from _Alex_'s OEM Pack. As far as having both .netcf working, I'm not sure. Didn't know that was even possible, if it is.

As far as the bluetooth problem goes, I might revisit my unreleased original JustClean 6.0, it was a newer build of the Wing ROM that has never been released... I might make a hybrid of that and the current JustClean. But it takes time, which unfortunately, I lack. *sigh*
